    The group Shonen Knife!

I went to see Shonen Knife there a few days ago and while I felt it was a great place to see your favorite band. Security was thorough and efficient, but not a-holes and no review of food as I could see none. Parking was available for a price in the area depending on how far you wanted to walk. No real threatening people on the street I could see. My only complaint, the band was OG Japan punk power trio from way back and I felt the venue kinda dicked em around perhaps because they were women. They seemed to get pushed out early and mentioned the place was closing early. That was all differing from what appeared to be scheduled. It was good music, good sight lines, not too hot, but the way it panned out left me a bit cold.

Caught Sarah and the Sundays here and the whole experience was incredible. The sound quality was crisp, the vibes were perfect, and the energy in the room was unreal. The venue itself is intimate in the best way--you feel super close to the band no matter where you're standing. Staff was chill, everything ran smoothly, and the crowd was great. Always love shows at The Roxy. Definitely one of the best spots in LA for live music! (The drinks were good too )

Went for a Ken the Man concert on a Sunday night and had a timeeeeee! Ticketing process was quick as we picked up at the window. They checked my ID, matched my name and ran me my tickets. Security was also quick and efficient. They check bags and have you go through a metal detector. We arrived a little before Ken went on stage so it was already busy in there. We made our way to the VIP section and I love that it wasn't completely packed out and we had breathing room. There were booths around but we decided to stand the entire time. Had a great view and the venue isn't too too big. They offer food and alcohol in case you want grab a bite before the show, or during (whatever's clever).

The best part? Intimate space with a capacity for only 500, so you get up close and personal with the artist or band you go to see. We went to see Fazerdaze, with opening artist Alisa Xayalith, both touring from New Zealand. Appreciative audience, good energy, a fun evening all around. The venue is historical and the bathrooms are grungy, and now we can say we've been there! Tiny parking lots nearby on Sunset $15 to 20.

I've been to the Roxy a bunch of times over the last 20 years, mostly during my college days, but not much has changed over the years. Small intimate layout- place can pack 400-500 standing room. They have one bar with $12/drink Ave. Limited (bar) food: fries, chicken tenders, cheeseburger, impossible burger, cheese pizza & fried mozzarella, $15-$20/item. We ordered fries and chicken tenders. Fries were cold and tenders were popping. Looks like they bring out multiple trays of fries, every now and then, and they just sit at the bar until someone orders them. Chicken tenders were made to order and those were ok, but tasted really good after a few drinks lol. Vip area is a lot of fun, you either can reserve a table, booth or standing room and is tight, $150-$250 (plus show tix). Really convenient and comfy to have your own spot to come back and forth to for the night, with a nice eye level view of stage. We did a meet a great last night, totally worth it if you a big fan of the artist(s)- got to take pics with artist, get some shit signed and first dibs on the merch, also got some free swag. The event coordinator of Roxy, wearing the pinch front cowboy hat, was really nice and made things flow for us, wish I got his name, but kudos to him. Parking is $20 here, parking structure across the street is $23 max and lot next to structure is also $20. Still buzzing from last night, had such a great time!

Hi there, I attended The Go-Go's show last night and it was amazing. I bought the VIP/Charity package and wanted to give kudos to your staff, especially Thaddeus who was running the show for this. He was very organized and had great communications skills, especially to those of us who purchased the 2k VIP package. He was also very good with being in charge of other employees and had a good rapport with them. I just wanted to pass on the information because I know most of the time people like to send complaints rather than compliments. Please tell Thaddeus thank you!!

Groundbreaking history makes this theater special. Way before he was Neil Old, Neil Young opened the theater in 1973. A few years later Marley recorded Live at the Roxy there, though, let's be real, it wouldn't have made sense to record Live at The Roxy anywhere else. It hosted the original U.S. run of Rocky Horror and the first Pee Wee Herman show. Celebs like Lennon and Nicholson hung out there- I saw Colin Farrell the last time I was there. He was in crutches. I think he got beat up by a critic.

Fantastic venue - big enough for a sizable party but small enough that you can enjoy the performances close up! Came to a special event here and had a great time. You can see the stage from any seat in the house. Staff was courteous and attentive. Parking is a problem. Most close by lots charge $20; there are meter parking spaces on the street but they are hard to find! Waiting in line can take a while too. Security was tight. You may want to come early. But overall a great theater.

I've been here so many times in my life I can't believe I haven't written a review! The vibe is super fun and the architecture is beautiful. My whole family loves this place. I definitely recommend watching shows here

Ask the Community - The Roxy Theatre

    Is there a coat check?

No, its nothing like that you hold on to your stuff at all times

Are kids allowed? My daughter loves Faouzia and I bought tickets for her, but now I'm not sure if she can even get in.

    Is it 21+?

i want to say no, unless you plan to drink, then you get a wristband when you show your ID

When you're paying for general admission, what does that mean? Are you assigned a seat or do you just arrive early and pick your seats?

there are no assigned seats, stand wherever

    Do they offer bottle service?

    Hell no

Is there seating like if we get tired of standing?

It's very limited. It's a small venue, and there are maybe 5-6 small tables along the back wall across from the stage. Other then that - it's standing room only

Is there seats for people who can't stand?

Yes, there is ADA seating available.

I come in at 2:58PM I go to the bar where Mitchell takes my order. I ask for a HOUSE dirty Shirley (a house drink during happy hour cost $7). He goes and makes my order and comes back. At this point it's 3:01PM. He charges me at 3:01PM keep in mind. He puts out the little card reader machine and as he does that, I hand him a $5 bill for tip. I wanted to tip him $5 since I knew my happy hour drink was $7. I tap my card and move on. I sit and I'm drinking my drink and got a notification that I got charged $15.50. As I'm looking at this charge I'm trying to make sense as to how my $7 house drink turned into $15.50. I try to justify it by saying it was tax or maybe he forgot to insert happy hour price since it WAS only one minute after it started. Whatever I don't get upset. At least 3:45PM - I call Mitchell over again and I say "can I please get the happy hour fries (advertised as $9 during HH) as well as another round of my drink (advertised as $7 during HH) that counts as happy hour right?". Mitchell says "Yes". He charges me again - I tap and I tip $18% which said was about $3.50ish. I look at my charges. I was charged $27. At this point I call my partner and I'm asking him to please help me make sense of this. I send him pictures of the menu etc. He says to ask for a receipt. I ask for my receipt for my first and second transaction and Mitchell only hands me the second one. At this point I'm super upset. I look at my receipt. He has charged me full price for my drink but he did give me happy hour price for my fries. I finally work up the courage to call him over and confront him about this. He admits that he made me pay full price for BOTH transactions. He goes over to his coworker asking to help give me a refund and I can read his body language. You could tell that he was a bit embarrassed because he got caught. He hands me a receipt showing that I'm being refunded for the second transaction of $27 and something cents. He said he was going to go check on my first transaction of $15.50 (which should have been no more than $10 with tax since house drinks are $7 during happy hour). At this point I'm making conversation with the guy next to me. Mitchell comes back hands me another receipt (I'm thinking it's the refund for my first happy hour transaction) I thank him, he apologizes and says he forgot to ring me up for happy hour. I just shrug it off but in the back of my head I'm thinking. How can you give me happy hour priced food but ring me up a second time with regular priced drink? Whatever. I continue on with my conversation with the person next to me and leave. As I get to my car I look at both "refund" receipts and notice he gave me two of the same receipts. Acting as if the second one he gave me was for the first transaction I made. Maybe it's my fault for not double checking the second refund receipt. Regardless - these charges were most definitely done on purpose with the intent of overcharging me not once but both times. I will never come here again. Please if you choose to come be aware. This is why I was never asked if I wanted a copy of my receipt. I truly hate writing reviews like these because of an interaction with a staff member. I'm sure the owner wouldn't agree with what happened to me. Pictures is my original and refunded receipt for proof of the second transaction. Again - I never got refunded for the first transaction of $15.50 like I was told.
