They have a strict no photos, videos, electronics use policy in the theatre during the show which was fine by me. I did drive up from San Diego solo to see Rory Scovel. He put on a great set! The inside is like old theater seating. Seating is usually first come first serve, so I recommend getting there early. I was front and center tonight and I couldn't believe it - very rarely are you that close to performers of any kind. Today was my second time being here. The first time I saw Judd Apatow and David Spade and friends - although I love them, Judd was going for a very laid back approach reading off of his iPad lol. Today I saw Vanessa Bayer, Kyle Mooney, and Jenny Lewis was her surprise guest! The show was so funny and Jenny's guitar playing and singing were angelic. There's a lot of food places in walking distance so you can grab your ticket and eat dinner before the show. Highly recommend going if you're on the fence! Try it!

Every Sunday, they have different comedians and it's called "Chocolate Sundays". Mostly a lot of African American comedians are performing for Chocolate Sundays. They really make me laugh. It's 2 items minimum for drinks. I had the Blackberry Whiskey sour ($18), and bottled water. My friend also had the same cocktail and bottled water. Service by Sarah was great in every way! I can't comment on the food, because we had already eaten. I have had their food in the past, and it's just OK. Bar food. What do you expect? She invited me for her birthday and normally the tickets are $20 for each person. Parking is valet, $17.00. We parked outside. I HATE valet, and don't trust them from previous experiences at different places. Place is very clean, bathrooms needed attention. If you ever get the chance and the opportunity, give this place a try. You won't be disappointed. They had 2 shows. We went to the one for 9pm, since the 7pm one was already sold out. I was expecting to laugh a little harder, but that's on me. Next time I'll check who's performing! Overall, I had a great time and would definitely go back. Real mad at the comedy store…read more First, we bought tickets to see Tiffany Haddish. She is an idol of mine. Her sense of humor is off the chain. But last night she was not on her game. She wasn't prepared. She wasn't funny. And she kept asking the audience if they had questions. Now I realize this is not the comedy store's fault. After all, she is a superstar. But what is their fault is that I called ahead and asked if Sunset Boulevard was open after a Watermain break. And they assure me that it was. Well, it wasn't. Which made me 45 minutes late for the show. So the Stage seats that I bought we're not available. And I was relegated to seats near the wall, where the talent was never facing me so you couldn't hear what they were saying. Their voices were muffled and you could only hear half the jokes. And that is the fault of the comedy store. They should have a better sound system that's not muffled so everybody in the audience can hear even if you're near the wall. It's so annoying to be within blocks of your target venue and still be 45 minutes late because of construction. Which they should be well aware of. So my evening was not at all pleasant. I was late for the show. The show sucked. We left halfway through.

We parked about a half mile away and a public lot by the West Hollywood library, parking was only 12 bucks and it was a nice short walk to the venue and no traffic getting g out when we left the show. The event was sold out, and we got there right when doors opened. The line out front was not too long and security kept everybody moving really quick. Full bar and food inside. The main room is tiny, so anywhere you stand you will have a great view of the performers. I definitely plan to come back to see another show here, wish I had caught shows here in the past... We thought we were so lucky by standing by the stage but then one of the workers tells us we need to move because it was cleary handicap and we did. The manager a female came to yell at me and my son along with a father who was there with his autistic son and a young lady visiting from Nashville. We were told that once show starts and no one uses space we can return to our spots. Opener came on and we moved to our spaces but then we were told only four guests had permission to stand in those areas. A lady who had shown up with her babe and the father and son. The lady got loud with me as if she was there prior to my son and I, like lady it is not that serious and I have a child! Other than the terrible experience with customer service it was an epic show. Blake Whiten even handed my son a guitar pick he used which was super awesome for his first experience at a concert!

However, there is one major issue--they chose to do a movie (based on audience suggestions) that I knew absolutely nothing about. (I'd say I'm fairly average in my knowledge of movies.) I could totally not appreciate the differences between the actual movie and the black version, which is the main attraction of the show. Since they only do one movie per show, I felt a bit left in the dark for the whole show... maybe it's a good show for people who know a lot about movies. There was a moment or two when I thought some of the actors were a little mean to the other actors during their improv routine. Also, I thought there were some loud insensitive people in the (mostly non-black) audience that felt like they had a free license to throw out borderline inappropriate / racist suggestions for the improv, even though they probably thought that it was OK given what the show was about. Definitely a little awkwardness at moments. Good idea for a show, but I think it needs a little work on the format and, I don't know how long this show has been running, but maybe a little time for it to gel together. I'd come watch it again (if it's still running) in maybe 6 months, but I'd give it only one more chance.

Once I was healed, I registered for a class, and the class was where I learned the hard way this isn't something I can do. I have a learning disability (diagnosed when I was young) and between that and some OCD, when I went to class I was focusing as much as I could on everything the man teaching it had to say, but because of my issues and trying to keep up with it I eventually started feeling light headed and dizzy, which can happen to me in circumstances like this. I did the best I could to absorb as much info as I could but it moved too fast for me to, and consequentially I flubbed the proceeding group exercises badly and it was clear the rest of the class was on the same page and because of my issues I was not and I could bring them down a bit. So I knew pretty quickly that this wasn't a good idea and I wouldn't be able to fully excel in it, and then I emailed the admin email for UCB explaining this and seeing about a possible partial refund and they left it on read without responding which means they'll keep my $525 because they can. I already know what their first response to this will be- that terms were made clear in the beginning there are no refunds so I admit that I am acting like I should be an exception here (maybe, maybe not) but I just want this to reach some people thinking of enrolling to know that if things don't work out for some reason, you will indeed walk away without getting your money back so keep that in mind.
