It takes a lot for me to go downtown, and my reason for doing so was a colleagues theatrical performance which happened to be at The Globe Theater. I was driving around looking for parking and am glad I did; initially I saw a lot for $20, then another for $15, and finally one for $10 which ended being a block away around the corner. Staff here was very helpful; I asked if I could buy a ticket there since I was so last minute, and they had a handy QR code. As I was purchasing my ticket online, some performers came out to greet us in line, and we were let in shortly. Utilizing only the bottom floor, there were seats of two at tables, and some couches which I assumed were for VIP. Have to say the tables also had great views of the stage, so I was happy with that. Of the two bars, one was open for drinks and snacks. Show was about two hours, one intermission, and we were able to go outside and return with no issue. Sound was adequate for the venue, no complaints. I didn't use the restrooms so I can't judge those. I enjoy the history of these classic theaters, and am so glad I was able to see a performance here at The Globe Theater! read more

This is a terrible business. I went for a fundraising event and they had a sign flipped about charging 18% gratuity. The pizza slice was told to be $6 then it was close to $8. I was very upset because that is just shady business practice. I would have tipped 20% and bought a drink but instead they ruined all of that by being rude and trying to hidden charge. I asked politely for a refund and was demeaned the entire time saying I was making it difficult. It was not easy getting a refund and the owner had to go to the office. So rather than chill and network, I had to wait for my refund and have them make a scene about it. The supervisor lady went up to the front and got a food ticket (which I did not ask for) and I don't know what she said but probably bashed me to the front to get it. This makes me look bad when I was NEVER asking for free food. All I wanted was for upfront pricing and to enjoy my night. Such terrible service and won't be back. Update: the owner saw I gave him a bad review and instead of reimbursing on the card he gave me coins and started yelling at me saying "You gave me a bad review. You want to make this difficult?" in front of a bunch of people almost making me cry. Completely lost my appetite and can't believe how unprofessional everyone was when I was trying to have a fun night. Absolutely awful. Update 2: lying that I was yelling when you were mad you got called out about adding gratuity without notice is slander. There are not multiple signs throughout the venue. A simple apology and comping the pizza due to a glitch would have resolved this. Instead they complained I was difficult, yelled at me in front of others, and took 30 minutes during this issue. The owner was not gotten until 15 min after the supervisor realized the software issue and he took his sweet time to give me coins. His statement of 6 min is absurd. Now, instead of being happy about my time here, I would never recommend any of my industry friends to book this venue or be back. I hope that is worth it for the owner. read more

I had a very disappointing experience here. Earlier in the night, I purchased a well drink that cost $14, so I had a good idea of what the pricing was. Later, I ordered two more well drinks, and my card was charged a pending total of $80. The biggest issue is that I specifically asked for a receipt to verify the charges. The staff told me they would bring it back, but they never did. After waiting for quite some time, I ended up having to leave without ever receiving my receipt. I understand that the club posts an 18% automatic service charge, and I have no issue paying fees that are properly disclosed. My concern is the complete lack of transparency. When a customer is charged what appears to be an unusually high amount, they should at least be provided with an itemized receipt upon request. Until I can see exactly what I was charged for, this experience leaves me questioning the accuracy of the bill and the professionalism of the service. I hope management addresses this and ensures customers receive receipts when requested. read more

It occurred to me when my friend parked right outside that I used to hang in this area. A friend of mine lived on Spring a couple decades ago. I actually ended up getting food at LA Cafe a few blocks over since the bar had no food. First off, the staff working on 3/28 for the Sacred Dance event were all amazing. So helpful and went above and beyond. One guy, I want to say his name was Sean, helped us load their carts and took my friend's stuff inside. He did this twice. Without even being asked. We merely wanted to borrow the cart since my friend's stuff was pretty heavy. He took it upon himself to load all the stuff and take them inside. It's a little dated inside, but I feel like that's the charm of this place. First off all, the space is massive. There's multiple levels. You can legitimately have two DJs playing at the same time and the music doesn't clash. They also have an outdoor area for the smokers. At the end of the night, a random man gave us a rose outside as we were getting ready to leave. read more

One of the best and most beautiful venues in downtown Los Angeles. I love when my favorite artists perform here. Plenty of space to move around on all 3 floors. Top floor has a great view of the stage. Plenty of bars open to avoid any long waits for a drink. Staff / security is always chill and friendly. Decent bathrooms! Much appreciated! Plenty of parking lots in the area that are within walking distance to the venue, just bring cash to pay the attendant (these lots are not affiliated with the venue just FYI) . It is in a busy downtown area , so I do recommend arriving early to avoid traffic. read more

Pretty venue. Staff was friendly and extremely disorganized. My friend was modeling for a fashion show and I was brought as her assistant (it's not my scene). We were both given gold VIP bands. (Mind you this is for work) 1. It took us about 20 minutes to find the coat check for models. We were told by at least 4 staff members a completely different location until we finally found no coat check, but a downstairs dressing area for the models. 2. I was with her backstage all evening until the show, where I went to the front to film her performance. When I went back there after, I was stopped and told to leave because I didn't have a red wristband and anyone backstage needed a red wristband and "it didn't matter if we were given yellow ones. (Again, I had been coming in and out with her all night prior) If we want to be back here, we must have red." I didn't want to argue, so I left. I had her phone and we didn't have any way to reach each other for about 45 mins - an hour. 3. During another performance, there was an issue with someone who got on stage and interrupted a performance, which could have been extremely dangerous for the performer, who was performing a high risk stunt. Someone, assuming a manager, was yelling "get her the F off the stage! I told you to close the doors at 2!" In the middle of a crowd, during a simultaneous quietly instrumental bass performance. It was an unprofessional way to handle the scenario and it added further interruption without removing the person from the stage promptly. Security could be better and there could be much better communication and organization among staff. Other than what I've mentioned, I give it 3 stars because the venue itself is really cool and the staff was friendly. It was relatively clean and wasn't too hot, which was nice. I'm guessing if you're just attending a show as a patron and don't need to check a coat, you shouldn't have any issues. I didn't order any drinks so I can't speak on that part. Cheers read more

Pretty cool event space! Got to watch Justin Brian Crum's Reverie at this theater and enjoyed it. There are a couple of parking lots nearby that range from $5 to $25. The staff here was professional and friendly. The drink staff was pretty great too and worked the crowds well. Overall, wouldn't mind coming to catch another show here. It has an "New York" kind of feel to me, but I might be biased. If you want some late night post show food, I recommend Ramen Melrose just around the block! read more

All the staff were very nice and professional. Got the backstage pass and it was fun to watch the band play but the sound was not good from there. The big open space is nice looking with all the lights and chandeliers going on. Water is expensive and they didn't give tap which I found to be unethical since there's alcohol being consumed. Also given the cost of drinks, it's a cheap and classless move. I had a very very hard time parking. All the lots seemed to be cash only. I thought I eventually found a spot nearby but I got a ticket for parking at the subtle white painted curb. read more

I used to go down town for so many different events and haven't been down here since before Covid. I felt like it was time to get to exploring again and bought tickets to The Oddities Flea Market which was being held at the Globe Theater. I'm not sure how I've missed ever entering the Globe Theater but I had never been before and let me tell you- I LOVE IT! Aside from all the weird, odd, creepy, cool stuff that was on display for sale for the flea market, the actual theater is beautiful. It's so old but well kept, dark black wood everywhere, three levels, two of which look down onto the 1st level, two 2nd level vip seating boxes on on each side of the theater (like the kind the chefs used to sit in on the Muppet Show, remember?!), red velvet on the walls, cathedral height ceilings, two gigantic disco balls, beautiful stair cases on either side of the theater, super duper old photos in black ornate frames adorn all the walls leading down to the basement, a large basement that's accessible and a huge stage. How. Friggin. Cool!!! It feels like there's so much history inside the building, theres GOT to be ghosts in there. I could feel a vibe the moment I walked in but I'm a little weird like that, all about energies. If you like old buildings, you'll love this theater. More than 5 stars, I'm giving it 7! read more

Ultra excited about the Oddity Flea Market for all my spooky needs or desires. If you do not have much money no problem. You will find deals straight from the makers. I was very fortunate to finally meet in person some of my favorite designers. The staff was stellar because we even spaced the tickets and I could not get any reception w my dumb smart phone. The front line girl in no problem ushered us in with big smiles. It is located in Downtown LA you will need to park your car and just walk. Wear walking shoes. Bring cash for parking as a rule of thumb bring $20 but the parking was actually $10 but I am a hustler when it comes to the deals. Yes, I am a penny pincher and proud of it. Really pretty clean venue all restrooms had ladies to help us with pretty lotions or just a napkin. All smelled cleaned and in fact the entire venue all floors had an excellent flow of air. The impact to my 501c3 chorus and musicians including a Grammy winning artist was terrible. We are a little organization and were so Excited that the management was going to have us to perform. Avoid this place at all costs. Reviews below are accurate. On September 15, many women had their phones stolen straight of their purses. This place is a scam house. They throw these events that have cover charges and have some body on the inside stealing phones. It's a known issue and nothing is done about. Also, the men get overcharged. Check your statements. First time at the Globe Theater and got to see the Werq the World Tour which featured a number of drag queens from the tv show RuPaul's Drag Race. Definitely 5 enthusiastic stars for the "sickening" and amazing performers, but I can only give 3 stars for the venue. The Globe Theater was not bad... not great... just okay. Pros: 1. The Globe Theater may not look lavish on the outside, but it is beautifully restored and gorgeous inside! There's nothing like the charm of old theaters, and no theaters built today can compete with the detail and decor of historic theaters like the Globe. 2. We had General Admission tickets on the open floor with no seats, standing room only. The Globe is a small intimate theater so being able to be close and see the performers on stage is not a problem from the floor section. I can't comment, however, on the view from the mezzanine seated section on the second floor. 3. There were lots of options for parking, from metered street parking to reasonably priced lots and garages, that are adjacent to the Globe. We chose to park in the parking structure on 7th and Broadway for $10. Cons: 1. It got really cramped and crowded on the orchestra floor, and it seemed like way too many General Admission tickets were sold in relation to the floor space. RuPaul's Drag Race has exploded in popularity, and the show could have been held in a larger theater that could have given the audience more space. 2. The sound could have been way better at the Globe. It was disappointing since it was hard to clearly hear and understand the performers during the show. Wishing that the Globe will look into improving their sound system for future shows. read more

Came here for a peaches and cream party and it was nice. Cost $15 to get in, and for my Detroit folks it's set up like the fox theater with the decor and the bathrooms being downstairs. Drinks were on the high side (in the teens, the adios which is excellent is about $22 and beer was $8-$10) and it the party was excellent. 2000's themed hip hop music with it turning into a Vegas like party after midnight with the confetti and smoke/fog machine. I've been to Globe Theater twice now and it's my favorite theater on Broadway in downtown Los Angeles. This theater is smaller than the others and older, but it's so beautiful inside and the vibe is intimate and fun. I was for here for a night on Broadway and there was a D.J playing soul music and dancers and a beautiful disco ball. I was here recently to see Marc Almond of Soft Cell perform and it was definitely one of the most memorable shows I've ever seen. They had all the effects of a big venue (laser light show, projections, 3 different confetti cannons shooting different types of confetti, high end bubble machine and large size balloon drop) in this small space. I love club shows or small clubs as they always feel way more fun than a concert or show at say, Staples Center. read more

I know I spoke with someone today over the phone but I feel that everyone should know what kind of place this is. There have been other incidents with security before so that's why I'm posting this because clearly they haven't fixed the issue. So I went to this even with my partner and i dropped my drink by accident on the stage floor and some white girl decided to report me for an accident. So the security guard aggressively got my boyfriend and I on the neck and I swear to you I was fearing for my life when I tell you this when I saw they through my boyfriend on the floor I tried running for his rescue or do see what happen Then the guy behind me put me on a chock hold so tightly I lost Conscience For a few seconds and I was gasping for air I was tapping the guys arms for air I have never in my life been through something like that it was traumatic and horrible I am emotionally and mentally traumatized for life I have bruises all of my body and my throat hurts like never before I think my wind pipe could of gotten damage and after they through us out they kept pushing us until I started recording that's when they changed there attitude I'm in so much pain right now my neck and my wind pipe hurts so bad I can't even eat my neck hurts and my whole chest I will never go to the place ever in LIFE!!!!!! read more

Probably the worst experience I've ever had would never go back again my friends and I went for the TRAPETON event on 6/16/23. The staff was so rude for no reason we were trying to look for our friends lost phone and they were yelling at us and not being helpful at all. They told us to wait till 2AM till the club closed (we got out @1:30 bc someone sprayed something in the club and people's eyes/ lips were burning) Then when the clock hit 2 they just closed the door on everyone who also lost there phone's and they told us to call the box office the next morning? Make that make sense, they could have just said that in the beginning. It was very overcrowded you could barely move. The box office was no help the call would just end when we would try to call them. read more

Last Night Was My First time ever being there. i was so hyped because this was my first show in over 1 1/2 year, due to covid and me working in the health care field i've been kinda iffy. so my man and i decided to go , we live near San francisco area , so we drove 5 hours just to be at this show. It was a Dubstep show , so we knew it was going to get crazy. As always , there were going to be mosh pits. as soon as the mosh pits start happening and everyone was having a good time , they TURNED OFF the music and said no moshing. when the music came back on it was on low , everyone was just awkwardly standing around. then through the whole night security was putting lasers on people who were getting too rowdy. HOW ARE YOU GOING TO HAVE A DUBSTEP SHOW AND EXPECT NO MOSHING ???? the way to get to the bathrooms are irritating. you have to take a shit ton of stairs just to go pee. so you better make sure your not TOO tipsy and fall down the stairs. Highly WOULD NO recommend this place if you are trying to go to a Dubstep show. read more

Came here for the "Peaches & Cream" event on a Friday night and wow. I must say, this is a pretty large location. At the very back, of course there's the stage and two balcony areas on the side. There's two ways to go upstairs to the next level with seating. There's also a bar and seating as soon as you walk in to include two bars to on opposite sides of the theater. Drinks are definitely on the pricier side on top of bartenders setting it up with a 20% tip already included unless you pay close attention. Didn't check out the bathroom but there are two flights of stairs to go down, so beware! The stairwell is a good place for a red light special photo shoot. read more
