She knows all the workings of the business; she is compassionate, honest and whatever other good quality there is in humanity. The main urologist is too busy to actually give you enough time to get to know you and help you. Went in for Balinitis and couldn't get a straight answer for what i had. Did not listen to me when i said that although the swelling has gone down, other symptoms haven't . And when i had another question while i was getting BILLED i tried to ask him as he was walking down the hallway and he did NOT ACKNOWLEDGE ME. Very good doctor but POOR scheduling and communication. I waited over 45 minutes in the procedure room fully prepped and ready to go with zero communication on what the delay was about. They need to do a better job on keeping the patient informed and what is happening. I wasn't until I opened the door and asked what was going on that I got any update from the tech. No apology or explanation once the Dr arrived. Was it lunch? or a difficult prior procedure? Unknown. Go if you must but bring lots of patience. read more

First of all, the two stars is for the initial greeting and not the actual appointment. The appointment itself would be a full five stars! I had an 8:00 appointment this morning and I was the first patient to check in. The young lady at the desk who took care of me at checkin did little more than the basics of checking me in. No smile. No good morning. Very businesslike and matter of fact. When you greet people you should "greet" them. The person behind the desk is the first contact and sets the tone for the appointment. The young lady up front could definitely use work on being personable. On the plus side I have always received great service and been treated well by the health care personnel. Staff up from not the best but they did their job. As far as the doc he did great with my vasectomy. Almost painless a few pinches here and there but nothing too major. We converse while procedure was being performed and they put on my music during so I can relax and enjoy my jams while getting rid of them pesky little sperms lol. All in all had a great experience. Took one star off because I was was told I would receive a refund on my deposit but when surgery day came they pulled me to the back and informed me it was non refundable. I was advised I needed a prostate biopsy. There two choices. I opted for a transperineal fusion biopsy. This was on 8-2-23. I received a call to schedule A month later. The person who did the scheduling said I would receive an email with instructions. That never happened. When I got to the appt. I was asked if I had gotten my antibiotics and had had an enema. I said I never got any communication. I was not informed about the process, which was uncomfortable, nor the after effects (bloody urine and stool). I was referred to Dr. Kella by my insurance company, Tricare. The front desk is extremely unorganized; however they make it a point to collect the copay. My initial appt was a tele health appt and I waited on the phone for two hours. I lost track of time while I was waiting and didn't realize I waited that long until I hung up. I was told he was in a procedure which is the reason why the doctor was behind schedule. I was told I would be called when my labs were in. I didn't hear back after two weeks so I called them to check on the status! No one could give a legitimate reason as to why I wasn't contacted. I scheduled another appt to receive my labs and have been waiting 30 mins past my scheduled appt for a return call. I will informing my insurance company, this is not acceptable patient care. Dr.Kella is the best. My husband went in for a routine physical in January and to our surprise he was diagnosed with prostate cancer!! We had a biopsy done in Austin Texas and his score was an 8, very aggressive. The best treatment was to remove his prostate, this urologist does not do the robotic surgery. He referred us to someone else in Austin, when we called they couldn't see him for 6 w eeks!! We were appalled. A friend referred us to Dr Kella in San Antonio. I called on a Friday and we were scheduled the following Tuesday. His staff was very courteous and Dr Kella was kind, knowledgeable and answered all our questions. He is the best and has trained most of the urologist in central texas. We had the surgery June 4th everybody at the hospital had nothing but great things to say about Dr Kella and his team I highly recommend him if you are in need of this kind of surgery. read more

COMPLETE INCOMPETENCE! I was referred to Dr. Hlavinka by another doctor of mine. He's a nice guy, easy to talk to, seems to know what he's talking about. BUT man is this guy surrounded by the office of clowns. I rarely lose my shit, this place pushed me there. They can't get appointments right, insurance right, medication right, just basic level things. I strongly recommend avoiding this place unless you want to turn your doctor's visits into a full blown project management job. read more

In my opinion, I have NEVER in my life deal with a Dr Practice that was so bad. I have continually had Dr Naveen Kella staff treat me so bad, tell me untruths (numerous ttimes) and be more customer service unfriendly. This Dr office took the ability to reply, ask questions, ask for a refill ect off of their portal. When this happened a year + ago, when called to ask why, I was told they don't have time to respond to questions this way. So I started texting (as they recomended), very rairly did they respond, usually I'd have to send a text daily to get their attention. Today I was advised by the "front manager" (Patsy) that they were no longer going to allow text as they can't respond to them. She said to call, which I do when I send a text ect, they do NOT respond. I have called numerous time and NEVEr received a return call. In addition to all this, do NOT believe them when they tell you a RX was sent, This weeks I was on the phone to them with Express scripts Supervisor to try to get them to send a refill RX, they told us 3 times it was done, Express scripts told them it was NOT sent as she had a real time view of all orders sent, after 2 hours of numerous mis- truths Victoria finally said they would make sure they sent it today and a MA would call me before the end of the day with an update. Of course, no call and no RX sent again. (Now we are 1 week past last appointment and I'm out of meds). Once again, next morning called and finally the RX showed up. I have never had a DR office be so unresponsive, tell me things were done when they weren't, and sooo difficult to deal with.. In my opinion I would NEVER use this Dr office again as they just don't care. read more

My Fiance got the big snip snip! The staff were so awesome and the Dr. was fantastic. It has been almost a year and we have not had a pregnancy! Thank You to this Dr. and his staff! My Fiance stated that the procedure was not painful, he was just nervous being that it's dealing with his man My hood . He says that once done it just feels uncomfortable, but you will not be in pain. He says that after about 2 days the uncomfortable feeling goes away. I got a procedure done by Dr. Naveen Kella. He was very professional and fast. Not painful at all. However, I have to mention that in the same room my procedure was done, they store boxes with supplies half cover with a blanket. Im not sure if that's a hygienic issue but I feel it needs to be said. The other issue is their windows, they aren't tinted or have opaque glass and since they are on the first floor, people passing by can see what's being done to you. Yes they have some shades but they weren't all the way down and if they were, you can still be seen. Also, rooms don't have a privacy curtain so as the nurse or doctor comes in an out of the room, people working at their desks can see you naked. read more

Please don't go with Dr. Kella if you are wanting robotic surgery. My husband had a prostatectomy on Jan. 7, 2019 and Dr. Kella punctured his intestines in two different places. My husband was in excruciating pain the following day and Dr. Kella was going to discharge him anyway. If it wasn't for the nurse that noticed that some very dark liquid was collecting in the surgical drains, my husband would have died within days. Thank God for the surgical doctor in the hospital that did the corrective surgery. A one day stay turned to a 12 day stay because he also became septic. Instead of a 4-6 week recovery, it took him almost 5 months and even at that his digestive and bowel system was never normal again. This caused our medical bills to be a lot more than we originally expected. Dr. Kella never apologized and is still billing us. Of course we paid the other surgeon at the hospital, the 1st and 2nd anesthesiologist and the hospital, but we do not feel Dr. Kella should be paid a penny more for what he did. My husband recently passed away due to the cancer, and they are still billing us to this day. His office staff is also very rude and have no compassion. Do not trust Dr. Kella with your life. read more

I called Monday as did my doctor, still no responce. I called Tuesday and still no responce. Drove to San Antonio to make my appointment in person. Was looking to get a vasectomy done, and tried this place based on reviews. Went in for an initial consultation, and Dr. Kella was friendly, knowledgeable and set me up right away. The staff was friendly and the procedure was done in a timely manner. I have looked at Dr. Kella's video on youtube etc., and what he says is 100% accurate. I went home iced and took it easy, for me personally within 2-3 weeks I was back to business as usual. Everyone is different, so that was just me. I am very happy I went to the urology place and would recommend to anyone. I had other facilities near my house, but made the drive to Urology Place. My experience with The Urology Place has been dreadful. They subjected me to a number of procedures that were totally unsuccessful and added to costs. They referred me for embolization of the prostate which left me with gangrene. Dr Hlavinka was very unpleasant and Dr Kella's assistant Sho was insensitive and alamarist. read more
