Copious beer taps, if you can reach them.

While up on Twin Peaks, we decided we wanted to have some happy hour adult beverages, so I got on yelp to find the closest good place. Valley Tavern popped up at the top of the list and down the hill we went. We settled in front of the bank of beer taps on the right side of the bar and had an enjoyable happy hour and a half. My friend was so happy the had Pliny the Elder and Spaten, two of his favorites. Britney the barkeep was very engaging and took good care of us, even if she is a Browns fan just to spite the local 49er fans.

I was in SF recently and was looking for a place to grab drinks. This is definitely your classic neighborhood spot; divey, lots of TVs for watching the game, strong drinks. It was raining on this particular day but we sat outside underneath the covered patio out back. I feel like maybe some folks aren't aware of this back patio because it's kinda hidden. It's really nice though! They had a TV outside playing the game and plenty of drinks to choose from. I was craving a hot toddy and lo and behold the first thing I saw on the menu was the tavern hot toddy. It was yummy and hit the spot! Definitely a bit on the stiffer side but perfect for warming up out of the rain. We also ordered a pitcher of mimosas. They don't really do pitchers of anything else so this was our best bet. They were pretty solid! All in all a good time! You'll be happy if you come here for a strong drink and to hangout - just don't expect anything too fancy.

This was my go-to spot whenever I felt lazy to look for a new place or if I just wanted something familiar. Drinks : They have a full bar but the cocktails menu is a bit limited. They have extensive list of beers and hard alcohol. I personally love the Bloody mary here. Food : This is a dive bar and serves no food. You can bring your own though which is great! Ambience : Come here with your friends to catch a game. They have plenty of TVs and you could request them to display your preference as well. They have a sizable indoor seating and a cute little back patio that shuts around 8 pm. They also have seating out front with heaters. Staff : Cheerful, helpful, knowledgeable about their drinks - All that you will ever need. Value for money : This dive bar is in one of the nicest neighborhoods in SF - Noe Valley and so the crowd here is quite lovely as well. Come here to have a low key time with your buds and enjoy the full bar.

First time here - Nice outdoor seating space! Pretty hanging lights, cute benches & tables nestled between some trees and plenty of plants.. didn't get to experience that though since we got moved from our initial table to a spot tucked in a corner behind a sink/fridge.. a not so pleasant view. The cocktails were average, we got the raspberry vodka cocktail but the "raspberry" was a syrup that was sticky and dripping all over the cup and we genuinely could not taste the vodka. Not sure if that's a good or bad thing honestly. If you're a local and come here a whole bunch - you'll get OUTSTANDING service! That was noted from the friendly and quick attentive service they were giving to guest that they knew on a first name basis. Ricky/Vicky was pretty snappy and forgot about us and our requests more than a handful of times. After 10 minutes of trying to wave someone down I called her over and asked "Can I have a straw please?" To which she looked at me with a confused face and said " why? You have one in your drink!" And started to walk away until I said "Oh sorry- it's for my water!" Exactly 15 minutes later I asked a waiter to bring me one instead. She made us feel very uncomfortable and out of place. However, we got some really great service from a young woman working there with long black hair. Her friendly attitude made up for the whole experience.

Clean. Lots of beers on tap. A pool table. Sports-centric. It has everything. The bar has a design where booths and tables are situated all around the entire place. So, you can have privacy or communal seating if feel like it. It's also nice that the servers come around and check on you. The back patio is a true patio, which doubles as a beer garden really. Again, there are sections for privacy and the patio is tiered so you get extra isolation if you want. The outdoor area does close earlier though.

My group of four had brunch nearby. Wanting to continue the drinking while sitting outside (it was a nice day), one of the boys suggested Valley Tavern. We stopped by on Saturday, June 17th around 2:30pm. We all ordered at the bar and brought our drinks to the outdoor patio. *Tavern Pimm's Cup: Pimm's No 1, gin, lemon, lime, cucumber, ginger beer ($12) *Racer 5 IPA: Bear Republic, Healdsburg CA, 7.5% ABV, 75 IBU ($6.50) *Space Dust: Elysian, Seattle WA, 8.2 ABV, 73 IBU ($7.50) *Allagash White: Allagash, Portland ME, 5.1% ABV, 28 IBU ($8) I got the allagash white. I couldn't really drink anymore, so I wanted something that was easy to sip on. We sat outside for a good two hours just enjoying the sun and talking. It was a slow afternoon, so we just chilled and caught up. I hadn't seen my some of my friends in a while. The waitress was really nice and attentive. She kept checking up on us even though we were just nursing our one drink each. The patio is actually rather big with many levels. We didn't have trouble finding a table as there was only one other party out there. Ended up sitting at the picnic table on the top level to the left when you enter the patio. Great bar if you want to sit outside and enjoy a drink. Or a few if you're in the mood. If in the area, I'll definitely be back.

Great vibes, beer selection, and hospitality. Vince, the owner, is quick with the remotes.

Are dogs allowed on the patio?

Unfortunately, they're not. Two ladies tried to bring their small dogs to the patio and were told only service dogs are allowed.

Do they let you bring outside food in because they don't serve food?

Yes they do, and they even have menus from restaurants in the 'hood and paper plates and utensils available.

Would this be a good place to throw a fantasy football draft party?

    Yes

Dear Cody, "To love…read moreis to dream. Too often, to dream is to hurt." It's one of the many jaded expressions in Football that we all eventually experience. When we experience it, and only when we finally do, do we truly appreciate the painful wisdom embedded within those words. It's only your first World Cup, Cody, and you are already feeling the heartache. You spent much of the tournament at Kezar Pub, which you endearingly refer to as "the pub". Daddy lived his first World Cup with Goo-Ma in a more humble fashion -- through an antenna-enabled 18-inch television. You, in privileged contrast, were surrounded by probably more than 18 wide screen TVs and the best sound system in the business. Brilliant equipment aside, Kezar's atmosphere is inimitable. There is something special that spurs Daddy to share beers and jello-shots with new friends. That pub is a beacon for good times. I have many photos of you in your WC shirt sampling pub favorites with uncles and aunties. Bangers and Mash was a hit. Maybe a bit lukewarm on the Shepherd's Pie (Daddy loves it though). The Fish & Chippies though? Cody ate enough of the English staple to justify the face paint. I do NOT have videos of you receiving trinkets and high fives from the best owner and best pub staff in the world. I certainly do not have a video of Daddy screaming profanities whenever a certain scumbag referee gets on screen. Oh hey Cody, bullying players and referees is never okay, but also sometimes absolutely necessary (another wise Football adage). I do not have a video of you screaming We All Like Vindaloo after a goal. No videos of you sitting in the community benches doing Sprite-cheers with Portuguese / German / Swedish / Dutch / Mexican / Norwegian friends we shared seats with. Nothing of you flexing the Arsenal shirt you have underneath for whenever one of our boys scores (Kai Havertz scores again!!). I wish I did, but Daddy does not have a video of us pointing to the red number 10 shirt bellowing "Na-Na-Na-nananana! Nananana!" What we do have are memories that'll morph into stuff of legends. Legends we share with each other for a lifetime. Yes, we'll have the pain, too. Daddy's first dream was shattered by a red card in '98. Although, you know Cody, I don't actually remember the red card too well. Daddy's most visceral memory of that tournament was the wonder I felt as I kept asking Goo-Ma if Michael Owen is the fastest guy in the world. I still feel that kid-like wonder again whenever that moment floods my memory. Thats why Daddy thinks it's our good moments that stays with us. Cody, we had so many of them. The heart-stopping penalties we watched on the couch. The Jolibee-fueled game nights on Fridays. Those incredible, incredible times at Kezar Pub. Maybe years later, your most vivid memory of your first World Cup won't be of the gutting loss, just like Daddy's isn't of the '98 red card. Maybe years later, the moment you'll feel again is that Saturday against Norway. That feeling of triumph and jubilation and fearlessness  and that surreal feeling of singing Hey Jude with ALL of Kezar. Football hurts. And maybe it'll hurt again for many more tournaments, many more years. But you also know all the love that comes with football. Love that comes on the badge on your shirt, love that comes with going to Kezar Pub, and of course so much love in singing your favorite songs. After so many years of following the tournament, maybe Daddy can give you his own wise football expression: Don't let the possibility of hurt ever stop you from singing, Cody. "60 yearssss of hurttt, never stopped me dreammming"  Love always, Daddy

The place gets loud when a big game is on, but that is exactly what you want from an Irish sports bar. We were there for the Stanley Cup Playoffs, World Cup soccer, and UFC 250 all in the mix, and the place was packed with great energy throughout. The Guinness pour was excellent, clean lines, great head, perfectly poured. As a busy sports bar things will not always be spotless when it is packed, but the team did a great job keeping the bathrooms clean despite the volume on such a busy day. We spoke with the owner directly and he made sure we had a TV tuned to the hockey game, a genuinely nice guy who made us feel welcome. We will definitely be back.

Several FIFA games and a baseball game were on the screens so there were folks in there watching the games, but anticipating a specific match since the room was relatively quiet and conversations were still at regular volume. We ordered Irish Stew, Shepherd's Pie, and a couple of pints of Smithwick's. Our server remarked it was the full Irish! The food was delicious - hearty and well-seasoned, no bland food here! - and the ale hit the spot. Could have had more pints but we opted on dessert.
