Dear Cody, "To love is to dream. Too often, to dream is to hurt." It's one of the many jaded expressions in Football that we all eventually experience. When we experience it, and only when we finally do, do we truly appreciate the painful wisdom embedded within those words. It's only your first World Cup, Cody, and you are already feeling the heartache. You spent much of the tournament at Kezar Pub, which you endearingly refer to as "the pub". Daddy lived his first World Cup with Goo-Ma in a more humble fashion -- through an antenna-enabled 18-inch television. You, in privileged contrast, were surrounded by probably more than 18 wide screen TVs and the best sound system in the business. Brilliant equipment aside, Kezar's atmosphere is inimitable. There is something special that spurs Daddy to share beers and jello-shots with new friends. That pub is a beacon for good times. I have many photos of you in your WC shirt sampling pub favorites with uncles and aunties. Bangers and Mash was a hit. Maybe a bit lukewarm on the Shepherd's Pie (Daddy loves it though). The Fish & Chippies though? Cody ate enough of the English staple to justify the face paint. I do NOT have videos of you receiving trinkets and high fives from the best owner and best pub staff in the world. I certainly do not have a video of Daddy screaming profanities whenever a certain scumbag referee gets on screen. Oh hey Cody, bullying players and referees is never okay, but also sometimes absolutely necessary (another wise Football adage). I do not have a video of you screaming We All Like Vindaloo after a goal. No videos of you sitting in the community benches doing Sprite-cheers with Portuguese / German / Swedish / Dutch / Mexican / Norwegian friends we shared seats with. Nothing of you flexing the Arsenal shirt you have underneath for whenever one of our boys scores (Kai Havertz scores again!!). I wish I did, but Daddy does not have a video of us pointing to the red number 10 shirt bellowing "Na-Na-Na-nananana! Nananana!" What we do have are memories that'll morph into stuff of legends. Legends we share with each other for a lifetime. Yes, we'll have the pain, too. Daddy's first dream was shattered by a red card in '98. Although, you know Cody, I don't actually remember the red card too well. Daddy's most visceral memory of that tournament was the wonder I felt as I kept asking Goo-Ma if Michael Owen is the fastest guy in the world. I still feel that kid-like wonder again whenever that moment floods my memory. Thats why Daddy thinks it's our good moments that stays with us. Cody, we had so many of them. The heart-stopping penalties we watched on the couch. The Jolibee-fueled game nights on Fridays. Those incredible, incredible times at Kezar Pub. Maybe years later, your most vivid memory of your first World Cup won't be of the gutting loss, just like Daddy's isn't of the '98 red card. Maybe years later, the moment you'll feel again is that Saturday against Norway. That feeling of triumph and jubilation and fearlessness  and that surreal feeling of singing Hey Jude with ALL of Kezar. Football hurts. And maybe it'll hurt again for many more tournaments, many more years. But you also know all the love that comes with football. Love that comes on the badge on your shirt, love that comes with going to Kezar Pub, and of course so much love in singing your favorite songs. A great spot to watch a game, with fantastic wings that some say are the best in the city, and honestly I have not found anywhere better. The place gets loud when a big game is on, but that is exactly what you want from an Irish sports bar. We were there for the Stanley Cup Playoffs, World Cup soccer, and UFC 250 all in the mix, and the place was packed with great energy throughout. The Guinness pour was excellent, clean lines, great head, perfectly poured. As a busy sports bar things will not always be spotless when it is packed, but the team did a great job keeping the bathrooms clean despite the volume on such a busy day. We spoke with the owner directly and he made sure we had a TV tuned to the hockey game, a genuinely nice guy who made us feel welcome. We will definitely be back. read more

I had been wanting to try the wings here ever since I was in a kickball league in the 2000s in Golden Gate Park. You know what they say, there is no time like the present! The wings were fantastic! Why did I wait so long to try them? Crispy edges and a perfect buffalo sauce with a little kick. My mouth is watering as I type this. Bonus- bowl for the bones. I stopped in while waiting for my daughter's class at the Sharon Art Studio, specifically looking to catch the NBA playoffs. It's generally a good place to watch a game because they have several TVs, but during my visit, they were showing way too much baseball. Having multiple screens on baseball was a bit boring; they definitely need to prioritize the NBA more when the playoffs are on. The pub food is good, and I noticed that the burgers and sandwiches are surprisingly priced lower than the wings. On the recommendation of my server, I opted for the Philly Cheesesteak over the Fish & Chips. The cheesesteak was okay--not the best I've had, but certainly not the worst--and it was quite large and filling. The fries were crispy and well-seasoned, though ultimately a bit mid-tier. I went to the Kezar Pub with friends and my 12 year old son to eat some wings and watch the World Cup qualifier games. When we arrived the front of the bar was packed with soccer fans. However, the game we wanted to watch was being shown in the back of the bar and they had the nerve to charge $20 a head! In order for you to go to the bathroom you will need to go through the back. When I walked to the back there were like 4-5 people tops on the benches watching the game I wanted to watch while the front bar was packed. I'm not a bar owner but wouldn't it make more sense to show all the games for free while people spent money on drinks and food through out the bar. The waitress was also not good she gave us a thumbnail size of ranch for an order of wings. She also got our drinks wrong and when you ask her for more ranch it also came with a side of attitude. Needless to say I'm never going back to the Kezar Pub I didn't like the ambiance it was small dark and cramped plus they only showed some of the games for that day and when we asked to put another game we wanted to watch on the small TV (That was free) they said that the fire stick is not working. So the Kezar Pub does NOT show all the games. I give them 2 stars for the homie that was guarding the door to the pay per view section yes, there was a security guard charging $20 to go to the other empty room and he was so sympathetic he was like yeah bro "I know it's some BS I know but u can catch the score if you like." Back again! The food here is delicious and the drinks are nice and cold. They have a bar area with bar seating and high top tables up front and then long picnic tables in the back of the restaurant. There are TVs everywhere and every time I've been here there is some sort of sport on TV and group of people watching and drinking along. The wings ($34.95 for 20) here are amazing, they're a good size, cooked well and the hot sauce is delicious. The ranch and blue cheese seem to be house made, and are a bit on the liquid side but tasty. On our latest visit I also tried the Kezar Corn Dogs ($13.95) that come with a selection of four Aidell's sausages in a crispy batter and served with two choices of mustard sauce. Each piece is about a fourth of a sausage and definitely an upgrade from a traditional corn dog. We also ordered the fried pickles ($10.75) these come in spears and with ranch for dipping. These are crispy on the outside and flavorful. Great with a beer. Really, all the food is delicious and they have a breakfast menu as well if you're there for an early morning watch party. It can get busy and VERY loud here though, so don't expect a quiet date here. When we were here last there was a group drinking, standing on the benches and singing/chanting together. They were having a blast, but it definitely makes having a normal conversation difficult. They also have some outdoor tables and there is a parking lot super close by that you can pay to park in. read more

Be it a 430am Saturday game or a big match, they open early, are well staffed, and find a way to efficiently navigate the crowds to get food and drinks delivered to your table. On busy mornings, recommend getting there early. Open one tab for the group (Venmo each other after) and be sure to queue up out of the way of servers to order at the bar. Outdoor tables are a nice (slightly quieter) respite. With room to spread out. Check your schedules though, in addition to being a huge Liverpool pub, there is a small but loyal Villa contingent, and a sizable F1 crowd. Pub staples are the order of the day. The atmosphere and vibes were good for a sports pub. Food and service were abysmal. We ordered the Kezar Burger and Chicken strips. Burger was mid, not great, but not terrible either. The chicken strips were paper-thin and 90% grease and batter. We asked the waitress if we could switch out the chicken strips for something else on the menu that was cheaper and they refused. They also refused to bring another order or provide a refund stating they couldn't do anything because we "already paid for it". $13 for paper-thin chicken full of batter is crazy. It's fine and understandable that the food will not always be great but the service was very poor and disappointing. Thursday night's in Autumn is made for NFL football. It is the is official start of the NFL week. It is also a good time to enjoy drink and foods . Kezar Pub is a sports bar to go watch anything from College Football, Soccer, Basketball or NFL. What makes Kezar Pub unique it is located across the street of the first home of the San Francisco Forty Niners before Candlestick was Kezar Stadium at Golden Gate Park ( imagine if they built the new Niners stadium at Golden Gate Park). Kezar Stadium is also the home field of my old high school the Mission High School football team in San Francisco. Inside Kezar Pub is like stepping into a 49ers history museum with drinks of course. The pictures on the wall showcases the historic 49ers players. This place is a shrine for the San Francisco 49ers Faithful. The chicken wings at Kezar Pub are traditional Buffalo wings that are crispy and have enough buffalo sauce to give it a good tangy tasty flavor. The chicken meat is tender and it's a good to dip with ranch. It is a gem because it comes with carrots. I usually have my chicken wings with Trumer Pils ( on repeat). They serve great drinks and Kezar Pub has a good food menu. You can get anything from house made mozzarella cheese sticks to Shepherd's pie and tortilla chicken soup. I always have to be cognitive coming here that there is a police station just across the street. This is the best kept secret at Kezar Pub: order the Fresh Fruit Bowl. I wanted a break from traditional breakfast fare so I decided to order it. I was skeptical at first, but when this item got to my table my expectations were exceeded. I had a large bowl of fresh fruit right in front of me. Friends wanted to watch the NYM vs LAD game so we went to Kezar Pub! This was my first time here, but everyone I was with had been here in the past. Came here for the first time for an Eagles game and wow did it exceed my expectations in terms of spirit! The place was completely packed and so was the parklet. We got the Korean wings and they were great, I really liked that the sauce wasn't overly sweet and packed a good amount of spice.
