The atmosphere is peaceful and relaxed. Owners Lorraine and Sondra are accommodating, attentive and very friendly. Our room was comfortable and quiet with a sitting area and a view of the mountain. The breakfasts were sublime with offerings of pear cranberry french toast one day and eggs benedict the other. I hope to return again to enjoy the mountains and the New York hospitality. Note:. The stairs to the bedrooms are steep and may not be suitable for those with mobility issues.

He gave us detailed recommendations on everything we asked for, and even called a bar, Helsinki, to check if there were any tables left as this place has minimal standing room (only he knew this as he is the expert on everything in town). Then, again we booked last-minute train tickets back home and gave him just 20 minutes notice. Barry insisted on making us breakfast-to-go and driving us to the train station there even though we had time to walk. In just 5 minutes, Barry made us the most savory yet simple sandwich (which was the topic of conversation for part of the train ride back.) His breakfast was the best meal we had during our entire weekend in Hudson - 100% fact. Eating breakfast outside on the porch was one of my favorite parts of the entire trip. Location is walking distance from the best shopping and food in Hudson, as well as Amtrak. If anyone else is looking, this is the only place I'd recommend.

My girlfriend and I spent a few hours here on a Sunday afternoon in May. If you rent a boat you can keep it out as long as you want, and you have access to the whole property for the entire day. We spent awhile in kayaks and had the whole lake to ourselves for the entire time. We then spent some time down at the swimming hole and had that to ourselves as well. Everyone who works there was incredibly friendly and helpful. Beautiful day overall and the perfect end to a perfect weekend getaway.

I asked if I could be transferred to someone to talk about the river grill and she replied that it's the same phone line. I asked my question again and was told that it wasn't available. I spent an hour on the porch just, well, sitting . Spent the night cozy by the fireplace in the living room before retiring to the bedroom. The warmth of the fire is exceeded only by the warmth of your hosts, Linda and Hugh. This is my country home and I don't have to worry about maintenance. Just splendid!

No breakfast unfortunately due to COVID reasons. The restaurant on site, La Perla, was fantastic for dinner. You may wait a bit on Friday nights, but the food was totally worth the wait! True Italian cuisine. On the second night, we tried a wood fired pizza and it did not disappoint! After two long days of helping my sister move and paint her new house in Troy, Gregory House was a comfortable and lovely place to feed our bellies and lay our heads!
