On our way through town last November we stopped in here for a bite to eat, we couldn't stop thinking about the BBQ bacon burger and my brisket burger. It was an easy choice when we were in town again yesterday. The delicious meal and friendliest staff brought us back, we were not disappointed. The waitress crafted a house-made ginger ale for me when I was told it wasn't in the gun, best I've ever had and even had the kitchen split our order into two separate baskets when we told her we were sharing the meal. It's the attention to detail and friendly people (and fun music on the jukebox and plenty of screens to watch sports on) like this that keeps us coming back. By far one of the great bars & restaurants in Northern California. Well worth the trip to Weaverville. Excellent drinks, superior food and in general just a wonderful experience. We live on the coast and when we are coming home from Trinity Center we stop by for lunch. We love the outdoor patio. The service is good and the food is delish! There are many outdoor games to play and a nice water feature that makes it very relaxing. We have been when it's very hot. I'm not sure if they have misters but it would be a nice upgrade. We will definitely be going back again. Oh and the pizza is also really good. We didn't order one on this trip. read more

Comfortable bar and they were showing the European a cup final, which was a nice way to spend lunch. Good air conditioning. The fries were a bit over cooked and browned. The chicken sandwich was one chicken tender cut in half. The bread was nice. The food took quite a long time to come out, so definitely make sure you have some time. Wonderful food. The best French fries this for hundreds of miles. Fantastic salads - by the standards of any metro. I wish I were related, or, at least, best friends, with the waitresses, who make me feel like I am anyway. The back porch is fantastic for small children and the inside has a bar and pool table for big children. All this in a very small town - it's beyond my wildest dreams. where do I even start?! my boyfriend and I have been staying in Douglas city for a few nights now and we've tried this place TWICE!! each time the service and food were both absolutely awful, this last time the server was very aggressive slamming the dishes and food down onto the table and just walking away right after not even attem to ask if we enjoyed the last dish or if there was anything else we needed with our current dish, I got a pizza and it was so greasy it was practically falling apart and the serve didn't even wait long enough when my man was ordering to give him a chance to ask for anything to be taken off she just took my order and tried to walk away as if he wasn't even there and then at the end of it all they easily took an hour just for someone to ask if we wanted our check, it was a disgusting experience to say the least and honestly I'm really disappointed seeing as so many clearly didnt have this experience. maybe they just don't get many non locals but this was unexcused read more

Worst Service I have ever received! A group of friends and I decided to try this place out. Firstly we were never directed or properly seated at our table, instead we were simply told "there are some tables in the patio" so we awkwardly made our way there. Being a party of eight, they gave us only one menu for some odd reason. When we asked for more, the waiter didnt come back until we asked a second time 10 minutes later. This was the last time our waiter came to our table to check up on us because they were too busy catering to every other table except for ours- the largest party there at the time. Even more strange, they served us our drinks in PAPER CUPS while the parties that had arrived there before and after us received regular drinking cups. We are all still so upset and continue to question why we received this awful form of discrimination. Being that we received no service we eventually left. Extremely Poor hospitality and sorry excuse for service here. read more

The pizza and salad a very good! Waitress was super nice and attentive. Also a bar, but the food all of it that I saw looks really delicious, and fresh! The back outdoor area has a waterfall and it's really cute for sitting outdoors as long as it's not too hot. We were there at 4:30 and it was quiet. I came from the Bay Area and was looking for a place to eat during my short stay at Weaverville. The staff at Holiday Market and Weaverville Hotel and Emporium recommended this place to us. So we gave it a shot. Most of the staff were wearing masks. The customers walking in to chit chat with them were not. As I mentioned in my previous review for Trinity County Brewing, the people and culture here are different than us Bay Area city folk. If you're a pot head, tofu on pizza, Republican-hating, gun-banning, hood-rat trash liberal with daddy issues, it's okay to come here. These folk here seem to be more understanding of the current pandemic situation. I saw one male worker pull down his mask as he walked into the kitchen. But I will let it slide since I've decided to write this review in regards to their food quality and service, and not the intelligence of one male worker. My girlfriend and I ordered the cod fish and chips, the BBQ burger with a side salad, and the crispy chicken sandwich with buffalo sauce and mushroom soup. ALL of it was delicious as f**k. The tarter sauce that came with the fish and chips had something in it that was SOOOO good. It could have been crack cocaine, but I'm not sure. I'm in the Bay Area. The ocean is RIGHT HERE next to me. And yet, the fish and chips here at Tangle Blue were WAY better than 95% of the fish and chips restaurants here in the Bay Area. You surprised us Tangle Blue, touche. The fries were super good and crispy. Although I would have to say Trinity County Brewing has slightly better tasting fries, just slightly... The burger here was HUGE and super satisfying. The sauce from the burger was dripping down my chin as I took bite after bite of their BBQ burger with the perfectly fried onion rings in there. The burger was truly out of this world, and I wish I knew how they made it. They might have put in some devil's grass in their burger all diced up, but who knows. Bay Area quality burger here ladies and gentlemen. And the chicken sandwich? Super good. That buffalo sauce paired very well with the huge pieces of chicken they fried to perfection in that sandwich. My mouth is watering as I reminisce those orgasmic moments of me taking a bite out of their burger and sandwich, while shoving their fries down my throat. I don't drink (or do any drugs), so I am writing this review with sober memories. So I'm letting you all know that this food was delicious for bar food. Let's talk about the service. SUPER nice people. And I mean SUPER nice and hospitable. Treated us Asian city folk like we were locals. These people are just as nice as the people at Trinity County Brewing. I can see why people come here. We were helped by this lady and gentleman. Both were SUPER nice to us. And they offered us a glass of water while we waited. (WHAT THE **** BAY AREA?? WHY DOESN'T ANYONE OFFER US WATER WHILE WE WAIT FOR FOOD HERE IN THIS HOT WEATHER?) Anyways, I drank some water since I was parched, and the gentleman even offered me a refill. The lady at the cash register helping us out was an angel. Honestly, I will never forget how nice she was to us. She made sure we were squared away and prepared for the epic meal that was about to knock our socks off. Man... I could sure go for some of their fish and chips with their tarter sauce laced with Oxycontin and Methamphetamine right about now, but I'm 300 miles away... I shall be back, and hungry for more. In a 1v1 competition between Tangle Blue and Trinity County Brewing, Tangle Blue would win, but only on the 5th round after a nonunanimous decision. Yes, this is a full fledged saloon but there is more (early breakfast) If you are in Weaverville for winter fishing you likely need an early start and a hot breakfast. The Tangle Blue has a hot breakfast and it is quick and tasty and filling and served with a smile, even at 6:30 in the am. Ate there two consecutive mornings and the doors were open by the time we arrived at 6:15 am and we were out of the place by 6:45. The owners have a nice manner and understand the need for service, even in a town where they are one of the few places to serve food. The entire staff is friendly and the experience enjoyable. "Awesome place to stop for a burger" (other items on the menu are great too!) You will feel welcomed the minute you step thru the doorway. There are comfortable tables to sit at with your family and there is even an outdoor eating area with a waterfall! They have a great menu accommodating both meat eaters and vegetarians. They have awesome wood fired pizzas too! The Burgers are Kobe beef and they are amazing and huge!! My new favorite is the California burger, and I love that they grill the buns, and that the hamburger was delivered super hot and delicious! Showed up to restaurant at 11:00am order was finally taken at 11:40. Food for 4 arrived after 12:30. Had a table seated after us, fed before us and left before us. Terrible service, every single possible request was either forgotten or miserably executed, found a bone in our toast after it was forgotten with our meal, ordered Mac and cheese, forgotten... waitress then asks us 30 minutes after reminding her "if we still want the Mac and cheese or if we no longer want it" we declined. Asked for boxes for our left overs and after 4 attempts to get a box we finally received a box. Sat waiting for a check for 15 minutes. It's 12:57 now. A terrible 2 hour experience for breakfast skillets, French toast breakfast and a damn burger and fries. Being one of the only places in town, you should train Anna to be more attentive and have her carry a pen and notepad to avoid being reminded of simple requests. 8 tables seater during this entire time, split amongst 2 waitresses. Came here last night for dinner, had a great time. Tipped $40 on a $120 meal. $0 tip today. Shame. read more
