**Women Beware** I used to really enjoy coming to this bar because the staff was friendly and it was a fun place to hang out--until I had an uncomfortable experience with one of the bartenders, Julian. When I first met him, he flirted with me, and I politely rejected his advances. Since then, his behavior toward me has been extremely unprofessional. He has refused to serve me and, at times, even refused to serve the friends I come in with. He will roll his eyes, ignore us, and make it very obvious that he is unhappy to see us. What concerns me even more is that I have heard similar experiences from other women who say that after rejecting his advances, they were treated poorly or refused service as well. No customer should be made to feel uncomfortable or punished for simply declining someone's advances. Bartenders are in a position where professionalism and respect should be expected, regardless of whether a customer is interested in them personally. I'm sharing my experience because I believe women should be aware of this behavior and because it's disappointing to see one employee negatively affect the reputation of a bar that I otherwise enjoyed visiting. read more

Was in Redding, CA for the week and I stopped on by this bar on Election Day to grab a bite to eat. As I was seated for to order, what seem to be the head chief, (maybe owner) walked in with two other large men. One who looked to be Cuban and another white man with a MAGA hat on. Now this is where things get strange, I overheard the chief state that "my girlfriend is black as f**k." We've been here several times now. It's a wonderful addition to the downtown scene. Always lively, always clean. The wait staff and bartenders are always on point; nice and respectful. Their appetizer menu.. you'll be surprised; caprese sliders, quesadillas, veggie board and so much more are all a bang for your buck. This place had a lot of potential but ultimately fell short on a variety of issues. Our food was average at best, the drinks were not great and the place had a lot of really sketchy people. I can't recommend going to this place. It genuinely was not a pleasant experience. My fiancée and I came here after hours of traveling because it had good reviews and we wanted to relax with some food and drinks. We sat at the bar and shortly after we got there, two guys a couple of seats down were having a conversation, but yelling it at the top of their lungs. My fiancée and I couldn't hear each other talk over them and we were sitting right next to each other. The bartender tried to get them to talk a bit quieter, but ultimately it didn't do anything. They eventually left, then two other guys who didn't know each other came to the bar and were also having a conversation about being cooks, but again, one of the guys is just yelling at the top of his lungs. There was a couple on a date in the middle of the bar and the woman was also yelling. I don't get it, this wasn't a loud bar. It was so surreal and I just assume people from this town suffer from major hearing loss. Another guy came in and he just looked like a college drug dealer pulled straight out of the movies, he pulls out a wad of loose bills and exclaims how he doesn't have a wallet or ID and only carried cash, then orders a cheap beer. It seemed like he was trying to covertly advertise that he was selling drugs. This is a great people-watching location, like rivaling a Walmart. On the food level, I ordered caprese sliders, which were actually really good. On the veggie wrap I bought, I asked for hummus, but they put pesto instead and it was super bland, which is impressively bad for pesto. My fiancée's burger was overcooked and mediocre at best. The fries were great, though. My bourbon and Coke was filled to the brim with ice, so all I tasted after a sip was water. The same thing happened for my fiancée's Long Island, which just tasted like water and lemon juice. I switched it up to an old fashioned, which was drinkable, but was way too overpowered with orange. This was just a really sad place to spend a night out for someone who isn't looking for a college dive bar. Again, great fries though. read more

This is my favorite bar in Redding. They have a huge selection of beers, seltzers, and ciders. They make a bunch of great drinks like their iconic ice berg, and I love their espresso martini.
