I recently dined at The Vault with a large group, and it was hands-down one of the best restaurant experiences I've ever had. From the moment we walked in, the ambiance was stunning--elegant, unique, and perfect for a special occasion. But what truly made the night unforgettable was the incredible customer service. There was a mix-up with our reservation, which could have easily ruined the evening for a party of our size. Instead, the staff went above and beyond. They quickly resolved the issue and even extended their hours to make sure we could all enjoy a full, relaxed meal together without feeling rushed. Came for lunch on a Tuesday and had friendly servers and a nice relaxing time. I was happy to see some decent lunch specials like sandwiches and salads etc. we 3 ordered the salmon Caesar salad which for lunch was $18 instead of $24 not sure if the portions were smaller but we each got a big salmon filet. It was just a tad salty though. They bring bread for the table which is nice and compliments a salad lunch really well. We came into The Vault on a Friday at around 3:45pm and we asked if we could sit on the patio - we were sat very quickly and our server was awesome! We were the only ones on the patio so she had to keep coming outside to help us which we definitely appreciated. Right when you walk in, you can tell this place is different. The whole setup is inside an old bank-style building, which gives it a really unique, almost upscale but still chill vibe. It's stacked, bold, and packed with flavor, perfect balance of savory and slightly spicy, with layers that actually hit in every bite. Definitely one of those dishes you keep thinking about after you leave. I went with the Caesar salad topped with baked salmon, and it was solid. The lettuce was crisp, dressing was creamy with just the right tang, and the salmon was cooked perfectly, flaky, well-seasoned, and not dry at all. You can tell they care about quality. We stopped in for happy hour and were sat outside. Th waitress wasn't sure if happy hour was available outside. When she came back she confirmed happy hour was available and brought the food menu but forgot the drink menu. They didn't get my drink order right. The tri tip bruschetta was very dry but the bread was good. We couldn't eat in peace on the patio as there were always 3-4 flies trying to land on our food and the patio is right on the road and we had a couple incidents of cars honking horns. Found the Vault Restaurant during stealth camping and was happy it had late hour dining. I came here because the happy hour menu caught my eye. The ambiance is low lit and relaxing. The staff was extremely on it. Our server gave great recommendations, never let our water cup go down more than half way, and was always checking it at the right times. The tri tip bruschetta was a bit disappointing pretty much just a piece of steak on a bread with a ton of chimmichurri sauce on it. Not HORRIBLE, but just not what you'd think. Brussel sprouts were delicious. Never had them with walnuts, but suprisingly made sense. The Alfredo pasta bowl was so affordable and fulfilling for its price point. Spent around $40 bucks for a full dinner for two, which to me is a win in today's economy. Please note this is only because we came during their happy hour. Then proceed to tell us that you can find anyone to make the amount that you need. Opted for the lemon raspberry cheesecake. It has lemon cake in it so if you were looking for cheesecake, I didn't really get the cheesecake flavor. The crust...hated like the crust. We were there to celebrate our anniversary and it was not made special. Disappointed. So...maybe don't go there to celebrate anything. We were told they only have 2 servers and 2 bartenders. Wow! We stopped in while visiting from out of town and were beyond impressed. From the moment we walked in, everything about the experience stood out. Our waitress, Jade, was attentive, helpful, and genuinely kind. It's rare to find such warm, authentic customer service these days, and she truly made our visit even more enjoyable. I practically inhaled the salad (I would absolutely come back just for that alone!). First of all, I had no idea this restaurant was here. I thought it was a nightclub. It would actually be cool if it was because it's very cool inside. This place is so cool to look at. It's beautifully decorated and keeps to the whole old bank theme. I just was not impressed with the food. First of all the staff are pretty nice. Our waitress was very attentive and helpful, telling me what her favorite appetizers were. I decided to give the brussel sprouts a go since she said it was a good choice. I didn't like them very much. They had a good flavor but there wasn't enough of the sauce and they weren't cut up small enough or cooked through enough for me. My Caesar salad was amazing! It was fresh, crisp and tangy! My oldest got the clam chowder and absolutely loved it. She gave it a 10/10 and said if we go back she just wants a bowl of it although she didn't not like the piece of toast that came with it. She said it was WAY TOO HARD. For our entrees, I got the Cabernet charred rib eye with the roasted garlic potato puree. The plate was swimming in the sauce and that wasn't a good thing since I did not care for the sauce at all. Also, the steak wasn't steaking! Rib eye is supposed to melt in your mouth and this one just fell flat. It was kind of rough and really needed salt..which by the way was not on the table, I had to ask for it. Next, the hubs got the chicken piccata and said it was pure perfection! My youngest got the cheeseburger but was way more impressed by the French fries than anything. Again, the ambiance is really cool here but to me, unfortunately the food wasn't the best. The chowder was nice and creamy but came disappointingly lukewarm. Chicken piccata is one of my favorite dishes and I came to this restaurant looking forward to it. I am leaving a bit disappointed. The chicken itself was cooked perfectly and was sauced nicely; however, the pasta came a bit bland and ended up being a bit of a mushy sponge that took away flavor from the chicken. It was our first time here and right away, our eyes went around every corner of the room and it was such a cool concept. Service was fast and friendly. We had margaritas and truffle fries. Took my brother out for his bdy and I completely forgot to ask about the Military discount ‍‍. We were seated pretty fast for lunch/dinner after my tattoo removal. I was confused as to why our server didn't leave the water at our table to begin with like other tables had water at theirs, instead I had to wait for her to come around and ask for more water. Another thing that was confusing is our soup came after our meal so idk if she was distracted or that is the way they serve there meals. I find it super annoying that many places are implementing the cash vs card charge, meaning paying cash will save you a couple bucks and paying card money is added to your total, super fkn annoying. We ordered our drinks (husband: old fashion myself: glass of red wine). Husband loved his old fashion and the V ice was a fun detail of his drink. Came in the other night for dinner was able to make reservations online. I didn't have to call once upon our arrival we were greeted by a young man. The place was very clean. It wasn't overcrowded had the decorations of fall, which was very welcoming. They do have a bar area to the right. They do have an oven fire oven right and they do have the to the bank a little to the right in front of you but the place is very clean, we were seated within five minutes our menus were brought to the table. I haven't heard much about the vault, which is surprising after trying it. I feel like the Italian restaurants in Bakersfield have really gone downhill, so The Vault was a refreshing change. My mom always says you know if the food is going to be good off the bread you receive, and their bread is great! It's fresh made in house. The menu has lots of different options. They have come up with cute names for everything so it stays on theme. My dad always judges an Italian restaurant off their lasagna, so that's what he ordered. I got a classic from growing up, the white collar pasta. My pasta was delicious. There must have been an entire bulb of garlic in it. The steak was slightly overcooked. My dad said the lasagna was good, but not the best he ever had. My dad got two glasses of wine and they were decent pours. The service and environment were good.
