    Beef Wellington bites
    Bethany R.

Came for lunch on a Tuesday and had friendly servers and a nice relaxing time. I was happy to see some decent lunch specials like sandwiches and salads etc. we 3 ordered the salmon Caesar salad which for lunch was $18 instead of $24 not sure if the portions were smaller but we each got a big salmon filet. It was just a tad salty though. They bring bread for the table which is nice and compliments a salad lunch really well. We also got 2 appetizers to share, the tritip bruschetta and the beef Wellington bites. The bruschetta was really good! 3 big pieces so perfect for our group of 3! A little hard to eat but delicious! The beef Wellington was just ok but we really liked the bruschetta We enjoyed our lunch and will be back for a steak dinner sometime! Just a final note - they charge $2 to use a credit card

We came into The Vault on a Friday at around 3:45pm and we asked if we could sit on the patio - we were sat very quickly and our server was awesome! We were the only ones on the patio so she had to keep coming outside to help us which we definitely appreciated. We had a few questions about the menu and drinks and she was able to find the answers and get back to us super quick. Our food and drinks came quick too! Good happy hour or bankers hours here and we'll be back for sure!

Right when you walk in, you can tell this place is different. The whole setup is inside an old bank-style building, which gives it a really unique, almost upscale but still chill vibe. High ceilings, clean layout, and just a cool atmosphere overall. The food did not disappoint. My wife ordered the Whack Job, and yeah... it lives up to the name. It's stacked, bold, and packed with flavor, perfect balance of savory and slightly spicy, with layers that actually hit in every bite. Definitely one of those dishes you keep thinking about after you leave. I went with the Caesar salad topped with baked salmon, and it was solid. The lettuce was crisp, dressing was creamy with just the right tang, and the salmon was cooked perfectly, flaky, well-seasoned, and not dry at all. You can tell they care about quality. Service was on point too. The waiters were attentive without hovering, quick with refills, and made sure we were taken care of the whole time. Overall, great food, great service, and a really cool setting. Me and the wifey will definitely be back.

We stopped in for happy hour and were sat outside. Th waitress wasn't sure if happy hour was available outside. When she came back she confirmed happy hour was available and brought the food menu but forgot the drink menu. They didn't get my drink order right. The tri tip bruschetta was very dry but the bread was good. We couldn't eat in peace on the patio as there were always 3-4 flies trying to land on our food and the patio is right on the road and we had a couple incidents of cars honking horns. We probably won't stop here again for happy hour and definitely not outside.

Service m was excellent! Our server was friendly and helpful. We placed our ordered, received the appetizer, finished it and waited some time for our food. Then was told they were missing an essential item for my dish. Then the kitchen figured out how to make it work and I was so happy with my food! Atmosphere is so fun! Kinda of a speakeasy, bank vibe. Beef Wellington bites- yum! I don't like mushrooms, but was able to have a bite of the steak with horseradish. Husband who does like mushrooms thought they were delicious! 4 "bites" for about $18.

Found the Vault Restaurant during stealth camping and was happy it had late hour dining. I came here because the happy hour menu caught my eye. The ambiance is low lit and relaxing. The staff was extremely on it. Our server gave great recommendations, never let our water cup go down more than half way, and was always checking it at the right times. The tri tip bruschetta was a bit disappointing pretty much just a piece of steak on a bread with a ton of chimmichurri sauce on it. Not HORRIBLE, but just not what you'd think. Brussel sprouts were delicious. Never had them with walnuts, but suprisingly made sense. The Alfredo pasta bowl was so affordable and fulfilling for its price point. Spent around $40 bucks for a full dinner for two, which to me is a win in today's economy. Please note this is only because we came during their happy hour. Overall pretty good experience and would recommend!

Chose this place for my guys birthday dinner, as I've heard great things about it! I'll start off by saying I think the ambiance can be improved a little, I'm not sure if it's trying to be a nice restaurant or a pizza parlor. Tables need higher backs for more privacy, etc. Just my opinion. The food and service were good. I ordered the pork belly carbonara, and he ordered a calzone. Both were delicious, just needed a bit more salt or garlic. I will say I was a little sad about the tiramisu. I didn't expect it to come doused in chocolate syrup and whip cream.. I prefer it more traditional with just the cocoa powder. We both agreed the drinks were great, and would come back to try more menu items.

It was empty on a Wednesday. Just FYI...they charge extra for using a credit card. I think there was a $2 different vs using cash. This resturant is owned by the same people who own the Woodstone pizza on California. Bread was good..first round was crispy. Still good. 2nd round was perfect and fluffy with enough of toastiness. I got the chicken piccata, which was recommended. The angel hair was not long. It was cut short. Tons of pasta. Sauce was good. 2 chicken breast on top. Save the other for leftovers tomorrow. My husband had the canzone. Pepperoni and sausage. He loved it. How do you have butterfinger pie on your menu and not have it. Then proceed to tell us that you can find anyone to make the amount that you need. Opted for the lemon raspberry cheesecake. It has lemon cake in it so if you were looking for cheesecake, I didn't really get the cheesecake flavor. The crust...hated like the crust. We were there to celebrate our anniversary and it was not made special. Disappointed. So...maybe don't go there to celebrate anything. We were told they only have 2 servers and 2 bartenders. I could just imagine the struggle on service if they were super busy. So BEWARE! Side note....My friend also told me they struggle on a busy day. They had horrible service but liked the food. Someone said they had a good happy hour, so maybe I would try that. Other than that...food is decent. Service is eh.

Wow! We stopped in while visiting from out of town and were beyond impressed. From the moment we walked in, everything about the experience stood out. Our waitress, Jade, was attentive, helpful, and genuinely kind. It's rare to find such warm, authentic customer service these days, and she truly made our visit even more enjoyable. She checked on us at just the right times and made us feel completely taken care of. The food was incredible! I ordered the shrimp scampi with a Caesar salad, and wow -- it did not disappoint. I practically inhaled the salad (I would absolutely come back just for that alone!). The shrimp scampi was equally delicious -- perfectly juicy shrimp coated in a rich, buttery sauce that was full of flavor. We also loved the thoughtful details that tied into "The Vault" theme. From the napkin roll papers to the menu presented in a folder, the small touches really elevated the whole experience and made it feel unique and memorable. Everyone in our group thoroughly enjoyed their meals, and we all agreed that if we're ever back in town, this spot will definitely be on our must-visit list. Highly recommend!

First of all, I had no idea this restaurant was here. I thought it was a nightclub. It would actually be cool if it was because it's very cool inside. We got an awesome waiter that had a crazy mustache. The service was pretty quick. Everything was really clean and decorated very unique. I think I want to come back for my birthday. We loved our food. I think I just might've ordered a little bit too much food though. This restaurant is up there with some of my favorites.

First timer, was really excited to see the new spot since it was Chase Bank. Pretty cool how they kept the "bank" or vault vibes in there. But anyway, I was there for a birthday dinner and my experience was ok, as were the others'. I got the white collar pasta, and it was honestly like a 2/5. Flavor was ok, it was super watery like, didn't enjoy it much. The chicken was good, the sauce was just not it.. it was more lemony than anything. The rest of the party didn't seem to love their dishes from what they mentioned during dinner.. two steaks were returned for being undercooked & apparently the Alfredo isn't that creamy.. The service was good.

This place is so cool to look at. It's beautifully decorated and keeps to the whole old bank theme. I just was not impressed with the food. First of all the staff are pretty nice. Our waitress was very attentive and helpful, telling me what her favorite appetizers were. I decided to give the brussel sprouts a go since she said it was a good choice. I didn't like them very much. They had a good flavor but there wasn't enough of the sauce and they weren't cut up small enough or cooked through enough for me. My Caesar salad was amazing! It was fresh, crisp and tangy! My oldest got the clam chowder and absolutely loved it. She gave it a 10/10 and said if we go back she just wants a bowl of it although she didn't not like the piece of toast that came with it. She said it was WAY TOO HARD. For our entrees, I got the Cabernet charred rib eye with the roasted garlic potato puree. The plate was swimming in the sauce and that wasn't a good thing since I did not care for the sauce at all. Also, the steak wasn't steaking! Rib eye is supposed to melt in your mouth and this one just fell flat. It was kind of rough and really needed salt..which by the way was not on the table, I had to ask for it. Next, the hubs got the chicken piccata and said it was pure perfection! My youngest got the cheeseburger but was way more impressed by the French fries than anything. Again, the ambiance is really cool here but to me, unfortunately the food wasn't the best. IF we go back, I'm definitely getting that chicken piccata!

Wasn't impressed. Calling this fine dining is a stretch because it's a cross between a local diner and The Cheesecake Factory with the vague bank theme. Ordered the tri tip bruschetta and the flavor was good but it was so tough to eat! We could barely knife and fork it. The service was ok but the waitress asked our 10 year old if she wanted to add mushrooms to her pasta and she said yes and we for charged 3 bucks to add them. We asked about it and she said "well I asked do you want to 'add' mushrooms" so I brought up about her asking to add chocolate to her gelato and no charge was added for that she argued with us that in that case she said "would you like chocolate". Give me a break. And then we got charged for using a card in the lords year of 2026. And the bread provided was bland. The food was ok but the rest of the experience made this a pass.

Thank you, Weatherford BMW of Berkeley, for the near-death experience and, inadvertently, for one of the best nights out I've had in years. Stranded and waiting on repairs, we checked into The Padre, the only hotel in Bakersfield that feels like someone with a subscription to Dwell had a hand in it, and set out walking through a downtown that time has treated with more kindness than reputation suggests. There's a Woolworth's luncheonette still hanging on. There are old brick facades and wide sidewalks and the particular quiet of a Central Valley evening when the heat finally breaks. And then, on 18th Street, there is Tiki-Ko, and suddenly you are no longer in Bakersfield at all. You are, instead, inside someone's magnificent obsession. Tiki-Ko is a proper tiki bar -- not a tiki-themed cocktail lounge, not a place that bought some bamboo at a craft store and called it atmosphere, but a genuine, committed, floor-to-ceiling shrine to mid-century Polynesian fantasy. The carvings are real. The lighting is correct -- which is to say, barely there. The mugs are serious. There are pufferfish lamps and carved totems and the whole glorious taxonomy of tiki ephemera, accented here and there with a skate-culture edge that keeps it from feeling like a museum. It's reverent without being precious. The drinks are the real thing. Mai Tais built with actual orgeat. Zombies that earn the name. The bartenders make them with the kind of care and enthusiasm that tells you this isn't a gig -- it's a calling. They want you to be here. They want to talk about rum. They want you to try the Painkiller. In a city that most Angelenos regard as a punch line, somebody built a world-class cocktail bar and filled it with joy, and the regulars clearly know it. You will not plan a trip to Bakersfield. But if you find yourself there -- by mechanical failure, by accident, by the peculiar mercy of a bad brake job -- walk downtown. Find the tiki bar. Order a second round. Stay longer than you intended. Bakersfield has been underestimated, and Tiki-Ko is the proof.
