Hubs ordered the Vault Pasta w/Garbanzo Beans (or you can get it with sausage) and Grilled Shrimp on the side. Very delicate sauce on the pasta and veggies. Sublime! We ate in the 'Board Room' which was upstairs. There is outside seating on the balcony that surrounds that room, which I think would be wonderful, too. Yelp indicated there were two Vault locations. Figured I'd give this place a shot since I was within walking distance from my hotel. If I'm being honest, it was okay at best maybe even marginal... maybe I got the wrong thing? But idk... the atmosphere was very cool however,. Felt like I was in an old diner or sorts, but the steak frites I ordered were terrible... the presentation looked like a 4 year old scribbled bbq sauce over a crappy piece of steak with a ton of fries. The steak was chewy, tough, and had no flavor. That coupled with the fact they just threw it over a bed of poorly seasoned fires didn't go over well with me.... Don't go here if you're not white (or can't pass as white). I'm pasting an email I wrote to the owner below: I'm writing to inform you about my experience at your restaurant last night. I moved to Tulsa one month ago and went to your restaurant in part to celebrate my birthday but also in part to welcome an out-of-town speaker to the city who will be leading a panel discussion next week. Because I took an Uber, I know exactly what time I arrived (otherwise I wouldn't be keeping a watch on how long service takes). We were seated immediately and brought waters right away. However, after 20 minutes, nobody came to take our drink order, check on us, or take our food order. At one point there were 5 employees milling about, but none of them looked at us (other tables were given drinks, checks, etc.). At first I thought it was just simply poor (slow) service. However, when another group arrived (22 minutes after we were seated), they were given waters and their orders were immediately taken. The only difference between us and all other patrons in the restaurant--including those who were just seated--is that the person I was with was not white. Because of this, the only conclusion I can draw is that the entire staff's complete commitment to ignoring us is driven by racism.  While I understand that you cannot "fix" a person's deep-seated fear, ignorance, and hatred, you can control whether or not you hire them to practice and inflict their racism on your customers.  We did ask the hostess as we were leaving whether we were supposed to order at the bar (although we knew that wasn't the case). She said no and asked if nobody came to check on us "after we got our food." We told her nobody ever came to take our order at all and she did seem genuinely shocked (in her defense). Obviously I will not be returning, even though I alone can pass as white (although I am not). I am not sure if you share your staff's views, but if you do not you might want to know about this. For the record, the server who gave us waters and then ignored us--and then went on to give waters to the new table and quickly took their orders--has long black hair and was wearing glasses. Oddly enough, she, too, appeared to not be white. So perhaps there was some acute self-loathing happening in her particular case. The Vault in downtown Tulsa is a well maintained, intentional throwback to the mid century modern atomic lifestyle. The name speaks to the building's original purpose as a bank. The vault is faithful to these themes through the decor, the ambiance, the dishes, the glasses, and the utensils. The menus for food and specialty cocktails also reflect this era in a fun and punchy way. BONUS; they do fantastic events and cocktail classes in concert with various charity organizations for fundraising. It's seems previous reviews aren't taken into consideration. There was mention of the "please wait to be seated" sign being out when there wasn't a hostess at the stand and I ran into the same issue. While waiting at said sign, a server walked by and didn't say anything, an employee at the bar saw me and also didn't say anything. A simple come on in or we'll attend you at the bar would have been nice. I don't visit often, but usually stick to the vault pasta which is still good. Service could be better. read more

I genuinely cannot say enough good things about the host Alex he worked Thursday night on the 22nd and he is genuinely the best employee I have ever met he needs to cherished. He is gracious. He is kind me and my sister came in to eat looking for cover because someone was following us downtown and he took it upon himself to walk the perimeter of the entire establishment to make sure we were safe before we needed to go home. This place is amazing! We usually go to a different diner for breakfast when we are in Tulsa, but we will be adding this to our rotation. First of all, the architecture and decor is incredible! I have never been in a building like this. We arrived around 10:30am on a Sunday, and we were seated immediately, although by 11, there was a wait. There were 3 of us, 1 of which is vegan, so she had some questions for the waitress about the food: the pesto (it is vegan!) and also the toast (it comes with all 3). The wait staff was incredibly nice and friendly (and also just really cool). I asked if I could do 1 chocolate chip pancake in addition to the fried chicken sandwich, since I knew the short stack would be too much for me, and the server said "You're in charge! You can do whatever you'd like." And I thought that was really great. I was surprised they don't have espresso here, but they do have coffee (regular and decaf) and also nondairy milk, which is wonderful. The coffee was awesome. When the food came out, I knew we were going to love it. The fried chicken sandwich was really amazing, although the bun totally fell apart. The chocolate chip pancake was also perfect. I loved the pancake; they're some of the best I've had! The syrup comes in a recycled topo chico bottle with a little spout thing at the top, which was very cute. One friend got plain pancakes which she loved. She said they're the second best pancakes she's ever had (the first are in a little diner in Harrison, AR). My vegan friend was in absolute heaven. She was starving so she ordered the tofu scramble and also the 3 toast plate. She was very happy and took some of the tofu scramble to go. The process for obtaining the venue was easy, the dinner choices were excellent and the food was amazing. Jordan and Chelsea were the bartenders and did a fabulous job. Our wait staff handled every order to perfection. We received the bill with no surprises and it was easy to manage the payment based on our contract. The main part of the restaurant has a bar that's well stocked. The building was an auto bank built in the late 50s and still has the look and feel of the time. I love that they kept the mid-century vibe. The lack of a 5th star is due to the hostess. When I asked for one of the small 2person booths, she asked if I would take a bar seat. I said no because I'd been traveling and noted that o wanted to have a nice meal and sit here for a while. She then showed me to a 4 top. I asked again for the two top and she sighed, rolled her eyes and said "sure". She dropped the menu on the table and walked off, turned around, scowled and kept going. Made reservations on Yelp for Sunday brunch and glad we did as this place is small and fills up fast! Outside seating is available but we chose to eat inside as it was pretty hot outside. They play Funky loud jazz music....LOUD...so conversation was a bit limited unless we shouted. Only black coffee available and both cups were Luke warm. It would be nice if they could offer some options or hotter brew but I didn't complain as they only have breakfast on the weekends. Service was great and the food was pretty decent. From the vibe of the entire Mid-Century Modern Building to the warm, friendly and helpful staff ( if Serena is working, request her!), this place is tops. We both had vegetarian dishes (vegan fried chicken and vegetarian eggs benny) and agree that it was hands down the best we've had. First of all, I need to say the staff was friendly and helpful. The vibe was great, and the menu was interesting and promising. But I have to say the meatballs we had were so well done that they had a thick crust all the way around them. And my burger was so dense and flavorless that I honestly felt like I was eating a burger from a ballpark concession stand. My husband had bbq cheese fries that had a better menu description than taste or presentation. I think the rave reviews we saw for it must be for the creative cocktails they seem to be known for. It isn't big enough to get very loud, and the open glass front creates the perfect brunch atmosphere. This restaurant, named in reference to the building once being a bank, would be perfect for any celebration or even just a casual Saturday brunch. My husband enjoyed the Egg's Benedict. It was recommended by our waiter, and both of us were very impressed. They have a fun twist on their hollandaise sauce that really made this dish stand out from other restaurants. We then got both the french toast and avocado toast flights... and man, I can't wait to go back to get them again. The french toast was served with warmed maple syrup (courtesy of the topo bottle)! The strawberry cream was my favorite sweet toast to try, and the pickled onion and balsamic glaze avocado toast was the most outstanding savory. We couldn't have been happier with this meal. Oh my goodness! I don't even know where to start. Was in town on a girls trips exploring Tulsa and this place made it to our list for brunch. It's an old bank, turned restaurant and really has some great funky mid century meets modern vibes. The staff was incredibly helpful! We ordered the upside down pineapple pancake as a little breakfast appetizer and it did not disappoint. The advocacy toast trio and the farmers breakfast were AH-mazing! The dudette was bomb! Call me old fashioned, but working almost 2 decades in the service industry... if you have a reservation ahead of time, the wait for a table should be minimal to none. We traveled all the way to Tulsa to celebrate our anniversary. Precisely selected locations ahead of time to make reservations at to really have a romantic weekend. The Vault was on the top of our list after reading so many great reviews. We show up to our reservation time and the host informs us that there is a 30-45 minute wait still. Turns out this restaurant also hosts wedding receptions? You would think that if they are going to close off half the restaurant for a private wedding reception - that they would have adjusted the amount of reservations that their system allows during that timeslot. Very disappointed and we left hungry. This ricocheted into a sporadic evening due to other timed events we had planned and the need to find a new restaurant to eat at. Thankfully we had each other and we could have eaten Taco Bell and been happy, but this just isn't cool. I hope the Vault updates/limits their reservation system when they host private events. read more

Everything I had was amazing. Fries are well above par, and they gave me a good amount of bacon. Soft drinks are reasonably priced, not $4 like many sit-down restaurants. The four cheese mac and bacon was the best I've ever had, aside from Beecher's in Seattle, which is way more expensive. My wife ordered pineapple upside down cake, which I'm not usually a fan of, but it was truly impressive. My key lime pie was better than what I got in southern Florida. Yum, double yum, triple yum! Not only is the food and cocktails perfectly cooked and portioned, but I think what made this place so special was the fact that it was an old bank years ago, hence the name. You can see the drive-thru windows that the tellers used and get tingles when you see the vault in the wall next to the tall and shorter drinking fountains. This restaurant is set in a mid century modern space and has newer additions, such as the spiraling staircase. It's gorgeous! My only suggestion is to be careful if you're gluten free or dairy free, be sure to ask your servers the ingredients because many of the dishes were labeled GF and V, yet contained Parmesan cheese, croutons, etc. This place is truly a hidden gem and we'll definitely be back when we visit again! read more
