I love The Vegan Factory! I've visited twice and my friends and I keep saying we need to go back, haha. The Vegan Factory started in the Bronx, NYC and opened a second location in Linden, NJ! The space is cute and cozy. Everything is 100% vegan. The menu consists of classic sandwiches like El Patacon, Mexican dishes like tostadas, burgers, sandwiches and dessert. My friends and I started off with a guava natural juice which was delicious. They have other flavors like passion fruit and tamarin. To share, we had to get the nachos. I ordered them on both visits, they are one of the best vegan nachos I've had yet! For my main dish I ordered El Vegan Cubano in between two fried plantains and it came with fries. It was too good! I've always wanted a sandwich in between two fried plantains but it always has meat so to have an option that's vegan is exciting. Their dessert options are always fuego! They mix it up which I like. The time I visited they had a Dominican dessert, tres leches, rice pudding, funfetti cake and more. The service at The Vegan Factory makes you feel like you're family! Everyone is super knowledgeable about the food and drinks, and they suggest options you may like. My last visit I was grateful to have met the owners who are very sweet! They also started serving up breakfast which I will definitely be back to try.

I highly recommend this place! Cute decor and very cozy. Hailey did an amazing job at providing excellent customer service! This young lady set the bar on how to treat customers and make them feel their money is appreciated. The food was delicious. My favorite was the El Patacón. Had the perfect crunch to it. There is a bit of a wait but it's all worth it. Im not from this area and I don't mind traveling for great food and service. The trip was worth it!

Wow! Was my first impression with the food. I came in as a walk in with my best friend who is fully vegan and her baby. I was recommended this location from a friend and so glad we visit. We were greeted by Karla and she was very nice and recommended a few popular dishes for us to try. My friend and I ordered the mofonguitos which are plantain cups with quinoa vegan ground beef, pico de gallo, cilantro sauce, sour cream and crispy onions! This would definitely be my top choice of all the orders the blend was fantastic. We also ordered the nachos which had black beans, salsa, quinoa, jalapeno, pico de gallo, salsa, cheese and sour cream. And lastly the chopped cheese which had the ground beef, cheese lettuce tomatoes onion mayo and ketchup. I also ordered the passion fruit natural juice which was delicious. My friend and I enjoyed our visit the flavors were all amazing we couldn't have picked a better place. Ambiance is spacious and we loved their flower wall. Street parking is available. And a huge shoutout to Karla and Anthony especially for being super friendly and welcoming to the establishment. We hope to come back sooner than later!

I love coming to this place. The menu has expanded as well. The food always tastes amazing and hard to believe it's all vegan. I love how relax the ambiance is, you can unwind and enjoy your food. Love coming here. I've been to the location in the Bronx and now i have to try the location in perth amboy.

The food was delicious and our server was great - he provided great recommendations and was very welcoming. The kitchen was a little backed up though, so our order took a bit of time. The interiors and ambiance was very cute and homely!

"Cuban sandwich" it had NO filling

Went there on a Saturday night and the place wasn't full, only 2 other tables. We started off great. We had a hibiscus drink and a coke. The waiter was great and friendly. And that's where it ends. Our Yaroa fries came out and the cheese wasn't melted. I understand how small that is but it makes a difference. Then our main dishes came out. I order their "Cuban Sandwich" and boy was that a huge disappointment. The sandwich barely had any filling in it. It was mainly bread with TONS of mustard and a pickle with hardly any mushrooms or bakon. For $17 I'm going to need more than bread and mustard. I informed our server and he said "that's how they normally come out". I told him that I didn't want to eat bread and mustard and to please fix this. He said there was no manager on duty right now but he would call to see what he can do. He goes in the back and comes and says, "this is how our Cuban comes and all we can do for you is bring out extra mushrooms". I asked "ok, what about the bakon? Can I get more of that too since I only got one small piece". He came back with a QUICK "no". He asked if they could take my sandwich and remake it. I agreed to that and he came back with another "Cuban Sandwich" that did have more mushrooms but it was still ALL mustard. All I tasted was mustard. What a waste of money. My friend ordered their El Paracon and she said the tostones needed more salt. She, over all enjoyed her meal. This was just not worth the money. It was interesting to hear the server say, "no one ever complains". He's right, I think people don't complain, they just never go back and I agree because I know I won't. Not once did our server ask if we wanted water. We had to ask and if you didn't, you weren't getting any. I was so excited too! What a disappointment

The cutest little Vegan spot in Linden!! This place was so inviting & visually pleasing. The decor is the cutest!! A bright, friendly, & warm atmosphere await you. The service was wonderful & the food was extremely tasty & FRESH. When you can taste ingredient freshness like tomato, cilantro, & Basils - you know that the food was prepared with love. The wait was not long at all & the portions are extremely fair for the pricing. Do yourself a favor & try this out! 100% vegan friendly & Dominican approved!!

The food here was amazing and our waitress was extremely attentive and friendly! We came here as a group of 3 on a summer Saturday in August. Very cute interior. I honestly wanted to get every thing on the menu! But I decided on the tacos. Super delicious! We will definitely be coming back!!

Chicken Chimi & spring rolls. Yummy!

So excited to see a vegan restaurant in this part of Jersey. Brought my family here today for some delicious vegan food. And the food in fact was delicious! The decor was very nice, it had a tropical feel. The hostess was very attentive and answered all our questions as our son has food allergies. We ordered the chi-kin chimi, the amazing burger, patacon and spring rolls. One of our amazing burger orders did not come out as we specified but the waitress was very apologetic and fixed the food immediately. The reason why I didn't give the full 5 stars was due to the following: 1) We were dining in and we received no cutlery and no napkins. I had to get up and request it. Even though we ordered mostly sandwiches they were messy so cutlery and napkins were needed especially with kids, it really is essential. 2) All the sandwiches were dripping. The amount of sauce was way too much where we got our hands dirty the second you picked it up. 3) We waited for the order for over 40+ mins, you can't do that to people who come in with kids. Needless to say they got hangry waiting on their food so for me this is not acceptable. 4) sorry to mention this but there were flies all around us. As soon as the food came out, the flies were everywhere, not sure if the hot humid day has to do with it but this also needs to be remedied asap. Our food was so good so packed the leftovers for home. We really want this place to win and hope the small things can be addressed. I am definitely willing to come back to give this restaurant another chance.

Let's start with the only real challenge of the night: parking. Between regular White Plains parking adventures and the winter snow situation, it took a little patience. But once we got inside, the night immediately got better. The vibe is college-bar casual, but without the trashiness that sometimes comes with that territory. It's lively but still comfortable enough to actually enjoy a conversation. One thing I loved right away, there are games by the front entrance that you can grab and bring to your table. Drinks + games = instant girls' night upgrade. We were seated in the center near the kitchen, which actually gave us a great view of the whole place. Our drinks were really good, though if the bartender's hand had slipped just a tiny bit more on the pour, I wouldn't have complained. Still solid, still enjoyable. Now the food. Holy moly. Everything we ordered was cooked perfectly and tasted amazing. And the portions? I'm not sure if they thought we were feeding an entire soccer team, but honestly... I support the ambition. I don't think I've ever seen mozzarella sticks that size before. I love leftovers and this place clearly believes in sending you home with some. Another thing I appreciated was seeing a whole section of vegan options on the menu. I didn't try them this time, but I love when a restaurant makes it easy for different diets to find something without turning ordering into a complicated group project. Between the fun atmosphere, great food, and generous portions, this was a great first experience. Next time I come back, I'll just plan ahead for parking... and maybe bring an even bigger appetite.

Normally, I'm not a big fan of steamed dumplings, so I was a little disappointed at first. However, the flavor was excellent and definitely exceeded my expectations, so I can't complain too much about the mix-up. The real star of the meal was the Yellow Curry Crispy Duck. Absolutely amazing! The duck was cooked perfectly, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, and the curry had incredible flavor. I ordered it with spice level 1, which was just right for me and allowed all of the flavors to shine through. My only real complaint is the portioning of the rice. While the half crispy duck portion was quite generous, the amount of rice provided didn't seem to match the amount of meat. For the price I paid, I feel like the rice portion should automatically be adjusted to complement the entrée. Having to request extra rice just doesn't make much sense when there's plenty of duck left over. I'm usually not picky about things like this, but considering the cost of the meal, I expected a little better balance. Other than that, the staff was friendly and welcoming. The restaurant itself is a small hole-in-the-wall spot with a cozy, authentic feel. It's the kind of place that locals seem to know and enjoy. I actually discovered it while heading to a Mexican restaurant with some coworkers and decided to give it a try because I'm a big fan of Thai food. Overall, I'm glad I did. The food quality was excellent, the flavors felt authentic, and the crispy duck alone is worth coming back for. Despite a couple of minor issues, I would definitely recommend giving this place a try. If you enjoy authentic Thai cuisine, you'll likely leave satisfied. Authentic taste and quality ingredients--everyone should give it a try!

The curry was flavorful and finger-licking good, falling off of the bone; although some of my peas were rock hard but other than that the rice & peas were delicious, too. The cabbage was sooo good!!! I could have used a tad more, but I chocked that up to personal preference - i LOVE cabbage! I guess I was so mesmerized by the inviting aroma that I forgot to take a picture of my food (which usually never happens), but take my word... the container was empty. The menu has plenty to offer and I am looking forward to trying the jerk chicken next time - which is made on the grill (not the oven). I also loved the decor and art on the walls. Great food and the service is what won me over completely. While waiting for my order, I met the cook and chatted with the owner, Maxine, who is extremely personable and polite. I could have talked to her about quality food and quality customer service all day. It's nice to converse with owners of establishments who just 'get it'. The professionalism here is on point. I appreciated the complimentary yuca fritters with special sauce, which was a kind gesture. However, the overall quality, freshness, and authenticity of the main dishes did not meet expectations. Parking is very limited street parking. The Cuban breaded steak was the biggest disappointment. A proper Cuban-style breaded steak should be thin, tender, savory, garlicky, slightly citrusy, well-seasoned, evenly breaded, and pan-fried until crisp and golden. The version I received tasted oddly sweet, the breading separated from the meat, and the steak had a gummy texture with an old-looking color. It did not have the freshness or clean savory flavor expected from this classic dish. The red beans were very concerning. They tasted strongly like vinegar, and I had to spit them out. When I looked closer, there appeared to be a white, murky-looking substance in them. Beans should never taste sour or vinegary unless something is wrong. Cuban-style red beans should be creamy, savory, aromatic, and well-seasoned with garlic, onion, peppers, cumin, oregano, and bay leaves. The white rice was also not acceptable. It was hard, did not taste fresh, and had a vinegar-like smell and flavor. It appeared as if older rice may have been mixed with newer rice. Proper Cuban white rice should be fluffy, clean-tasting, separated, and neutral in flavor. The moro with black beans and rice was better than the white rice, but still lacked depth. It needed more bay leaf flavor and stronger Cuban seasoning. A good moro should have a rich, savory base from sofrito, garlic, peppers, onions, beans, broth, herbs, and slow cooking so the rice absorbs the flavor. The oxtail was tender and okay, but it did not fully deliver the deep, rich Cuban-style flavor I expected. Traditional Cuban oxtail should be slow-braised with garlic, onions, peppers, tomato sauce, wine, herbs, and spices until the sauce becomes rich and the meat is deeply seasoned. This oxtail tasted acceptable, but it seemed as though it may have been prepared a day or two before and reheated. I understand that many restaurants legally prepare certain foods a day ahead, especially dishes like beans, stews, and oxtail. However, food should still taste fresh and be stored, cooled, reheated, and handled according to food safety standards. Sour or vinegar-like flavors in rice or beans can sometimes indicate fermentation, spoilage, or improper storage, and that should never reach the customer. The best part of the meal was the dessert. The vanilla flan was very good, and the coconut flan was excellent. The coconut flan was rich, creamy, and full of coconut flavor, with shredded coconut pieces that added texture and made it stand out. That dessert showed real potential. The prices were reasonable, but reasonable pricing does not make up for poor freshness and low food quality. It did look like they may do better with sandwiches and empanadas, which I did not try and perhaps should have ordered first. I cook Cuban food, Puerto Rican food, and other traditional dishes myself, and I lived in Miami for over nine years. I also learned from Cuban friends who cook authentic Cuban food at home. Because of that, I know how these dishes should taste. In my opinion, the dishes I tried did not represent Cuban cuisine with the freshness, authenticity, seasoning, or care it deserves. The restaurant may have people who know how to cook, but based on this visit, it seems the kitchen has lost some of the authenticity and discipline needed to serve fresh, properly prepared Cuban food. Food that tastes sour, vinegary, old, or questionable should never be served to customers. The service and desserts were the highlights, but the main dishes need serious improvement in freshness, food handling, seasoning, and respect for authentic Cuban cuisine. There are several areas that need improvement. Freshness and food safety should be the main priority. Rice and beans should never taste sour or vinegary unless intentionally prepared that way, and food that seems old or questionable should not be served. The breaded steak should be freshly breaded, crispy outside, tender inside, and properly seasoned with authentic Cuban flavors like garlic, citrus, cumin, oregano, and bay leaves. The rice should be fluffy, the beans creamy, and the oxtail deeply seasoned and fresh-tasting. I believe the restaurant may have cooks who understand Cuban cuisine, but the kitchen needs to reconnect with freshness, consistency, authenticity, and stronger food handling standards. Cuban food is rich in flavor, comfort, and cultural pride, and with improvement this restaurant could better reflect that tradition.
