This property is simply the best for anyone starting out in a big city. Whatever the reason, Vermont Inn is always there to make anyone's stay a great one. I just love the Vermont Inn. It's furnished studios on a monthly basis which works out-well for a traveling ultrasound tech. It's a great location and it's always so well maintained. I tried to rent here again after living here previously. When i tried to apply they told me that i am on a do not rent list from this apartment complex. They refused to tell my why I am on this list or what i did wrong to be put on this do not rent list. When I resided there previously I always paid my rent on time and did not cause any problems and I did not have anyone who works there tell me what i did wrong. So they are telling me I can not rent there but refuse to tell my why or what I might have did wrong. You would think if you are not going to rent to a potential client they should get an explanation as to the reason behind this situation. This is a hidden gem of belltown/ denny triangle where you can walk to everything. The rooftop deck is the star of the show having sweeping view as of the Seattle Center and Space Needle. Rooms come with a mini kitchen perfect for small meals and keeping drinks and pike place market treasures cold! The best part of this Inn is Joshua and his incredible hospitality. When we first moved to Seattle we weren't sure where to live and didn't want to feel rushed into anything. We decided to stay here and test out the area first. The Vermont Inn has very small furnished studios for reasonable rates. They also provide maid services and laundry facilities. The place was relatively secure and clean. Nothing much to complain about but nothing to be too excited about either. It's definitely not a place that everyone could handle. A little cramped and noisy. But at least not too seedy. I would recommend it to people who are a little adventurous and looking for a cheap place to stay while they are in Seattle or looking to move. Not ideal for kids. Alright, so here's the reals. I have a place up in Denny Triangle and my husband found this place. We left the kinects area because of the violence and lack of management. I had a weapon pulled on me in my old building and a woman was sexually assaulted in our elevator AT MY OLD BUILDING. My husband travels a lot so I'm alone a lot and he came across the Vermont Inn and asked me to call, ask some questions, look into the area (neither of us are Seattleites naturally) I came down and walked around the neighborhood and I cannot tell you enough how blessed we are to have found this place. While we still maintain the other place because we are on lease, we are happy to be here at Vermont Inn Apartments. So now to touch on a couple of things... I've read some reviews on yelp with regard to the community and property and I don't find the negativity to be founded. Now mind you we have only been here now for a month but the one thing and most important is how friendly the house management staff is (I guess in the US they're called cleaners, but really they maintain the entire integrity and manage the integrity and cleanliness of this property) and it is a blessing to see them every morning and how proud they are of their work and the pride they take in our stay here. This place is flawless. We have a cute studio with a little couch a very comfy bed cable an oven top and we get free cleaning once a week and do not pay utilities except extras we want. Second, I'd like to address complaints about the administrative managers of this property. Josh is amazing and the ladies that manage the administrative aspects of the building are not only on point but very honest. They don't mince words and I guess maybe the culture here in Seattle is needing your handheld? But they have been very direct, friendly, professional and people have said that they're short and cut people off. There are may be like 5 front admin people here to like 290 guests. This front office is busy and hey have not only their tenants to manage but the oversight of their support staff, housing managers, maintenance... etc. Give them a break. They're great at what they do and they are also very well organized. We actually love it here. It's a small space compared to our one bedroom up in theother part of the denny triangle but it's perfect considering our travels. Its beautiful, affordable, friendly, the tenants here are amazing AND ITS A NON SMOKING BUILDING!! I mean most say they are but you still can walk down the hall and smell smoke and weed... here at the Vermont you smell clean halls and maybe some delish dinners. The walls are thin that might be my only complaint. I'm a lawyer and do a lot of negotiating over the phone.... sorry neighbors! LOL! But honestly, the people my husband and I have met here have been absolutely lovely. Dismiss all negative comments because this is an amazing little spot. Oh and whoever spoke about the roof is on point. The best views of the sound and needle ever. I cannot wait until the 4th of July (if Seattle does things for the 4Th. Really I would urge you to check the website, make a phone call, do an online tour, understand this is literally a walkable score of 100 and it's amazing. Like another reviewer, I stayed at Vermont Inn for almost 3 years. It was a great landing pad when I first moved to Seattle. Parades go right in front of the building, which was nice, and the killer NYE fireworks from the Needle can be viewed from the rooftop. Also, it's convenient when going to events at the Seattle center (Bumbershoot, etc) because it's just a walk across the street. There are quite a few restaurants within a few blocks, and 3 coffee shops within 1 block. My room was furnished with basic furniture, a mini fridge, and a microwave. The sink was nice and big, and had a garbage disposal! The kitchenette made it tough to cook large meals, but I purchased an InstaPot and toast oven, and that helped quite a bit. There were also vending machines on my floor, and they were a life saver for late night munchies. I faced the alley, which is quiet for the most part. Yes, they pick up garbage frequently, but it's over within a few minutes, and then you get back to silence. There are also people walking through there and cars, but I think that's normal for any ally. I didn't get too much direct light, as there's a large condo building across the alley that blocked the sun. That was nice during the summer, though, combined with the ceiling fan. The staff at the front desk were always nice and pleasant whenever I asked for anything. I never found them to be rude or hostile. My only complaint would be the decor in the rooms. The walls were salmon colored, the carpeting a dark green, and the comforter was typical generic multi colored. They also installed a picture of a maple leaf above my bed while I was staying there that I wasn't a fan of. read more

This is my second review of this property. After having moved out for about a month, I had to raise my review to five stars. I stayed at the Vermont Inn for about six months. Everybody was very nice to me. I would even call them compassionate. I received my refund of deposit within the time expected. Now that I have my own little apartment here in Seattle, I really miss it. I liked the Vermont Inn more than I like my current apartment. The value was great at the Vermont Inn. I totally recommend it to people who are apartment shopping or new to Seattle or who are low-income. You get a really nice situation! The value of what I have what I have now is much lower. An absolute nightmare. You will not be able to sleep with earplugs under soundproof headphones playing white noise... it is that loud between the "quiet hours" of 10pm-8am. Wish I had listened to the negative reviews about this place... lousy management does anything in their power to polish this cesspool and make it seem legit. Only positive thing about this dump is the parking... worth the $240 a month because your car WILL be broken into if you leave it outside in this neighborhood. The Vermont Inn was my wonderful home for over 7 years. Though they offer month-to-month stay flexibility, living in the heart of Seattle's downtown can't be beat. Right under the Space Needle, minutes away from multiple transit centers, and--my favorite--just blocks from key Seattle tourism. For this "City Mouse" life at the Vermont was simply the best. I lived at the Vermont in for 10 months this year and am more than impressed by the professional staff and the many unique features of these apartments. The building is new and fresh. The efficient staff at the front desk are a huge plus. The lobby is comfortable for reading. The elevator is solid. You have rooftop access. Maid service once a week is perfect, not too much not too little rooms are kept fresh & clean. The place is well run, everything is maintained actively. The kitchenettes have every convenience. If a sink handle needs replacing it gets done the day the maid cleans the room. Solid wifi, phone, mail signed for, heat, electricity, water, trash are all included in your rent without having to call or wait for anyone or deal with multiple billing systems. Pro - the non-fraud point to find a stay for a 3-months summer internship - and it is in downtown / belly town, easy commute to downtown work ( not really too much easier than if you stay in UW) - 24 hours access Con - $40/month Internet / wifi, ends up 100kb/s for real and very unstable with outdated modem. As a tech guy I really hate this, and this is the major reason I write this review. I almost haven't lived in such a slow-Interneted place for years, but this is destitute - when you visit a room and you like it, it can be actually not available to you - book for May: in March they asked for $1495, but in May it became $1895 - $1895 for such a small room, you must be kidding - the shower's design is too awesome to keep water out of the shower cabin. Every time you finish shower, water will flood out of you shower bin - really annoying to have a TV stand taking a lot of space in such a tiny room - a room in 1st floor has a terrible pet pee smell; tried to clean it myself and ask inn's household people to clean it but in vain. It is annoying when you stay in your room. You will find it by leaning to ground - and the smell is destructive. quick summary - too expensive - about 50%-200% more than UW area and way to expensive when compared to other accommodation downtown with better facilities. if you take taxi from UW everyday to downtown, you'd better off than living here. - smell in my room. - terrible Internet, almost nonexistent. Can't stream anything. Better off get a mobile plan with more data. - when you visit a room in it and you like it, you are likely to not live in that room but some worse room in the inn - that's the case for me. read more

SUMMARY The staff is great and it's a cheap place to stay. But because its so cheap and in the middle of the ghetto, that's who your neighbors will be. If your personal safety, is worth more than money, I'd suggest paying an extra 100.00 a month and stay at their sister facility, The Belltown Inn 200 yards down the street. ------ Prior to moving to Seattle from SD my girlfriend and I researched the internet looking for affordable short term housing. The pictures we saw of this place online were nice. But when we showed up, it looked and smelled like a run down halfway house, and there was even someone going through heroin withdrawals in the hallway during the middle of the night. I think what other reviews fail to tell you, is that this is older building and you will hear everything. And if you get lucky to get and upstairs neighbor like I did - you will be waken up offer with loud noises every night, doesn't matter if it's 12, or 4am, or 6 am. The staff is friendly, but all they say is I'm sorry, and nothing else. There is no AC, and room get very hot if the temperature outside above 80. You can't sleep with a window open because the street is right there. Traffic noise I can take, waken up almost every night, because some one jumps off the bed - I can't. The worse experience ever. Upon moving to Seattle, my husband and I were in need of a short-term rental to bridge the period between the start of his job and the date we could move into our new apartment. We booked the Vermont Inn based largely on what was listed on the website, but after checking in we realized that it was going to be unsuitable for a number of reasons and we only ended up staying two days of our one-week rental. Given the price, I should have been more skeptical than the website led me to believe. I know lots of places photograph their rooms to make them look more spacious than they are. But no photo can convey the effect of a room that reeks of stale cigarette smoke (which no amount a Fabreeze could correct.) We were also led to believe by the management that we would easily be able to find weeklong parking rates nearby. But all we could find was lots offering daily or monthly rates. There was no wi-fi in the building, but we could get DSL for an additional $15. But I could never get it to work with my Mac. Also, the kitchen was not well equipped enough to be of much use, and there was no where to eat even if it had been. Finally, we arrived on a Friday evening and sometime on Saturday evening, someone vomited on the sidewalk right outside the entrance. But no one had cleaned it up by the time we left (for good!) late Sunday afternoon. Disgusting. read more

The Vermont Inn is basically located under the world famous landmark known as the Space Needle, making it an exceptional space to begin any northwestern adventure. I can certainly appreciate this place being centrally located in the heart of one of the most beautiful cities in the United States. This is a great place to start. No need for GPS, you have the Space Needle to find your way home. . . . There is a rooftop deck that shares a panoramic Westside waterfront view of the Puget Sound and Olympic Mountain Skyline. As long as you are not intending on getting too comfortable here and this is a temporary stay, this spot is perfect while planning out your extended stay and finding a space more personable and located where you prefer. The Vermont Inn is an affordable stay in a prime location where you would normally pay significantly more. I had a lengthy stay, and am completely satisfied with my experience. The staff is very accommodating, the location unbeatable. You will be in the middle of everything, and never find a more convenient home base. If you're in town for business, the downtown corridor is just a few minutes south. You can walk there. I think this would be a great location for students too, UW is an easy bus ride away. In fact, anywhere is an easy bus ride away because you're in the middle of all the bus routes. Belltown, the surrounding neighborhood, is charming and famous for its dining options. I never lacked for choices. Any cuisine style that you're looking for is probably not more than a 5-10 minute walk. Grocery stores, pharmacies, night life, movie theater, parks: all in the neighborhood. Oh! The view from the rooftop is fantastic! Obviously the Needle will initially catch your eye when you're up there, but I also liked the view of the Olympic Mountains that are across the Sound. In short the room was well appointed, the staff very friendly, and the location excellent. I will fondly remember my time at The Vermont. read more

Several years ago I had decided to move to Seattle from Los Angeles so I did some research about areas that I would be interested in and that would also offer easy access to the life of the city and the area. What I settled on was The Vermont Inn which had all the elements I needed for an easy entry to Seattle - reasonably priced, safe, clean, ready access to shopping areas, and easy access to public transit. It is also within a few hundred yards of Seattle Center where a multitude of cultural events (music festivals, food fairs, theatrical productions, etc.) place not to mention the museums, theaters, arena, and public spaces as well. I have been here now for more than 2 years. Though the units are small they are reasonably priced for what they have to offer. I did note some of the complaints of earlier reviewers but since the new management headed by Mr. Chuck Francoeur took over a couple of years ago things have improved noticeably. Believe me, since I am a senior citizen, if I felt at all unsafe or uncomfortable here I would not have stayed as long as I have. read more

Do NOT stay here. They will steal your deposit. They will issue you a receipt from their credit card machine, NOT from Wells Fargo where they bank and say that that's proof they've issued a refund. However you will not receive the refund, and they will not help you contact the bank to resolve the issue. I've spoken to chuck the manager, and he says "here's the receipt, that's all I can do". Which is bullshit, it's basically saying "I payed you, if you don't see it in your account, than It must be your bank". The very same bank of course, they had no issues taking the money out of in the first place. Don't believe the photos, the entire unit is probably 200 sq ft. The photos make the place seem bigger than it really is. The hall and stairways perpetually smell like weed. I REPEAT do not stay here! It's a waste of time and money trying to deal with these people. read more

Not long after I first moved to Seattle the person I was living with and I went our separate ways and I needed an affordable, furnished place to live. At the time I was working at a sister hotel of the Vermont, and was recommended to stay there. I was told I would get a discount and was quoted a price for a room, which I took. When I went in to sign the lease, the rent was over $100 more than what I was told, but I was desperate for a place so I took it. They told me I was not eligible for maid service and put me on the first floor, in the very first apartment next to the exercise room. I was working a night shift at the hotel and so I would go to bed late and sleep in, however, the walls are extremely thin and I could hear everything that was going on in the exercise room, sometimes from 5AM to around 10 or 11. After about a month I finally complained to one of the front desk employees who told me I should have been asked to create a schedule for when tenants could use the exercise room. No one ever mentioned that to me. Also, the maintenance midget was very rude. After about two months of living there my hours got cut at work because of a personal issue my manager had with me. This made it very hard to pay rent on time. I finally got laid off and was evicted from my apartment. Even though the Vermont Inn is owned by the same hotel I was working for, they were completely unwilling to work with me. read more

The best thing about this place is the convenience of being able to live there for only one month. My wife had a short-term assignment in Seattle and we had a hard time finding anybody that 1) allowed such a short lease and 2) had availability. It's just an ok place, though, with a balance of good and bad aspects. GOOD: It's convenient that everything is furnished and rooms come with a fridge/microwave. What's really convenient is not having to clean your room since they come in once a week and do it for you. They also re-stock your soap and toilet paper and clean your towels. The location is decent since a 20-minute walk can get you to Pike Place while the science center and Space Needle are almost just out the door. With money matters, they're also good. They let me shift my lease by a couple of days (start later and end later than originally planned) after I signed on without any penalty and returned my deposit relatively quickly. BAD: They don't have parking, so you'll have to find a monthly rental from another provider, which is rather difficult in this area. The tub creaks with every shift in your weight and sounds as if you will fall through the floor any minute. Your downstairs neighbors will likely hate you. The soap tray in the shower is shaped like a cup, too, so your soap soaks all day in a puddle and turns to mush even if you try wiping out the puddle that forms during your shower. One of the first things I noticed after our check-in was the smell of marijuana. Even a few weeks into our stay, our room smelled strongly of marijuana that we did not smoke if our window was closed for even a few hours. Even if you smoke weed, do you really want your room to smell like it? As far as noise goes, our room faced 4th Avenue, so we heard all sorts of screaming and sirens at hours of the day that you probably don't want to hear screaming and sirens. Also regarding noise, a sanity-destroying tap was occurring in the walls 24 hours a day starting around our 3rd week there. I'd wake up at 4 AM and there would be a rhythmic tapping sound in the walls. It wasn't an annoying neighbor or anything; just something maintenance-related. But it went all day long. All day. While it's nice to have people clean your room for you once a week, it's pretty aggravating that they kick you out of your room while they do it. I was working from my apartment for our month here, so I basically had to stop working so they could clean a small studio. The alternative was to go to a local coffee shop with internet and work there, which required going out in the rain (though only a couple of blocks). Internet access was spotty. We paid an extra $40 to have internet service, but the connection would very frequently drop even with the modem's "internet" light happily illuminated. This is unacceptable for someone who is working from home. During online meetings as well as when trying to send important documents for work, the connection just failed. This is a huge reason for only giving 2 stars. Just as with the cleaning service mentioned above, this made it so I had to go to a coffee shop to work. read more

This place is not affordable! You would be much better off renting a micro Studio somewhere else anywhere else in fact. taking a Lyft ride anywhere in town is going to cost you. What you get for the money is the equivalent of a very cheap Motel 6. They advertise a kitchenette but it is really a burner that you plug in and have to put away. there is really no living space. Do not expect to be comfortable because you will not be. In my experience the staff was not friendly in fact there were quite the opposite. In fact one of the staff let himself into our room at 3 a.m. with a key!!! This was one of the absolute creepiest things I've ever experienced in my life! , when I told the people at the front desk what had happened they did not even apologize let alone follow up with me to let me know what happened to the creeper in question!!!!!! . They are Judgemental impolite very unfriendly frankly I got the feeling they were a little bit racist I could have an encounter with a staff member and a tenant who was of the same color of the staff member and then hours later have an interaction with the same staff member without the said tenant and get a completely different reaction from the staff member , it was a very curious situation . They are not courteous at all and had 0% hospitality. Another time there was a different staff member who verbally harassed one of my delivery people and then verbally harassed me on the phone for having food delivered . At that point I had already been there a month and had never had anyone give me any issues with any deliveries , this woman literally screamed at me at the top of her lungs she actually scared my delivery guy who was a rather large man . She also seemed very unstable and every time I saw her following that she never said hi or anyting courteous or respectful never said a word to me in fact just stared at me with demon eyes . I had to stay there for a few months while my fiance and I were looking for a condo and unfortunately we brought a bunch of stuff with us so that's why we extended our stay as long as we did. had we known what our accommodations were going to be we would have never booked with them. They told us pets were not allowed and yet every day we saw different tenants parading around their dogs and cats. It is so incredibly noisy and hot. If you get a room facing the alley they collect garbage about 6 times a day 7 days a week! I am not exaggerating. It was like Chinese water torture, it was impossible to get A Moment's Peace. This place is probably the worst absolute worst place you can possibly stay in Seattle I'm not sure who is giving this place five star reviews but it is nowhere near a five-star place! They started closing the deck after certain time and we were not allowed to watch the fireworks from the roof on the 4th of July which was a huge bummer. Everyone here is rude the cleaning staff frequently refused to clean. Possibly why they had an infestation of bed bugs in the past. read more

The staff was great, and Rosalyn, at the front desk, was very helpful with anything we needed. It is in a great location with a park that is only a 5 minute walk away. The guest staff are all nothing short of a GED education, and I would not be surprised if most of them didn't even make it beyond middle school, that includes the management, they don't deserve to hold such a position of higher authority. read more

The location is just great with the Space Needle starring you in the face every morning and great coffee just up the street and great restaurants with in walking distance. You are centrally located for entertainment, shopping and Pike Place Market is just minutes away either walking or a short bus ride. The Staff is Great and thanks to Chuck Francoeur the General Manager I feel completely at home. I'm able to travel inside and outside the US and not worry. The price is OK, and the location is pretty good, if you do not drive (parking is a problem). My stay here is pretty good, except for the ending. One week after I checked out, I see there is a deduction of my deposit. This thing itself is OK and I was just trying to figure out what it is for. However, the most disgusting thing happened. They just ignore me!!! No reply to my email, no call back to my voice mail... When I visit their office, they told me that I should call the manager. That's OK. The manager's office hour is Monday, 9am-3pm (can't remember clearly). OK, I will call him, even if the office hour is not good for me. However, I ALWAYS talk with this guy's voice mail. He just call me back once, telling me that they will check it. And, in the next three months, there is no reply from them. No reply to my email, no answer to my call, and I did not receive any call from that manager, even if call him several times (during his ""office hour"). I have to say that, being ignored is not good. I don't know how can they make such a simple thing become so complicated. read more

Easy walking distance to restaurants, etc. and only a 1 mile walk to downtown and the light rail. The neighborhood is safe and the front entrance is always secured. Love the staff, they are incredibly helpful and even called a car service to get us to the airport home. The facilities are always clean (rooms cleaned once a week) and come stocked with everything you need for a short term stay. We would absolutely stay here again! read more

Troy and Joshua were super helpful, friendly, and always polite. Also the place couldn't be cleaner with the amazing house keepers.

Overall I enjoyed staying at the Vermont Inn. It's always clean and the staff was very helpful and friendly. The downside is the full size beds are definitely not for two people and they weren't comfortable at all. And the price is a little steep for the but you are in a great area. Stayed a month and enjoyed it for the most part. read more
