Food is great, staff is great and the overall vibe is fun and we enjoy it each time we go. I gave it 5 stars because it is overall really good, BUT I just have to let someone know that the ranch is the worst ranch I've ever had. Well, I didn't think that the place was that welcoming. Was expecting a lot more considering price of the menu items. The hostesses were super unorganized, we had to wait quite a while to get seated. We got our water right away, which is cool and we were told right away about the extra 20% charge. Don't specifically agree with that, it is what it is I guess.. although I appreciate waitresses getting a nice tip, I do feel that customer service is not as great when they don't have to really work for it! Although our waitress was great, our fries were lukewarm warm and we got fresh fries. Personally I won't be back, I think it's too expensive for what you get. And although I read a lot of people like the atmosphere, I disagree. It is pretty plain. Just my opinion. read more

Underwhelmed. Had Victor Burger with fries. Just OK. Nothing great. Bun was cold, not heated or toasted. Very little "special sauce". Fries lukewarm (didn't eat). Came here for brunch and was blown away by the food quality. We started with the pretzel bites and the plantain bites (which were both phenomenal) and the actual breakfast did not disappoint. Great atmosphere, service, and drinks. I will most definitely be back! read more

Edmonds location is great. Atmosphere is really cool. The food was honestly just average and REALLY expensive for what it was. Was hoping it would be over the top amazing. Unfortunately, I can't give them the recommendation that I would like to give. I know it is a new place so I suppose they will get better. I felt that the wait staff were spread too thin and did not have accurate information regarding how the dishes were prepared. We ordered a salad and were told it would be tossed with ranch but it came with a vinaigrette. There was a side of celery and carrots with the wings but half of them looked like they had frozen and the staff who prepped them had cut away the bad parts-what was left was gross and in my opinion, if you have to cut away a bad part you should t serve any part of that. The celery actually had a liquid center...gross. The last part is the kicker- when the server brought our check she announced it included a service charge so she would be paid a fair wage! The service charge was 22%! It was not posted anywhere and it as not told to us ahead of time but it was sprung on us after we were completely finished. So wrong! Raise the prices on your menu (mind you it's a new restaurant so they could have listed different prices). Paying employees a fair price is the cost of doing business and should be figured out before opening a restaurant. Let people know in advance so they can make the choice in advance and not be caught off guard-it felt like we were tricked. read more

A let down for Edmonds. You're better off going down the street to a purely local spot (Leftcraft, The Market, Salt & Iron) with these kinds of prices. The auto gratuity seems to lead to poor service. Drinking water is very warm. Food was decent. The food here was absolutely delicious! Everyone at our table got something different it was all perfect. The apps and deserts hit the spot just right. The service was exceptional as well as everything came out very quick and never were waiting for anything. This place also has great ambiance with the open kitchen and some mini bowling lanes upstairs! The espresso martinis were also a huge hit with our group! read more

Good, but quality doesn't meet prices. $26 got me a burger and side salad. That price delivered a decent, but unremarkable Red Robin-quality burger that couldn't be cooked to a desired temp (it was well done). Drafts are $9, cocktails are $14-$15. The auto gratuity would have bothered me, but the service was great. The place was busy with a clean, somewhat generic, open interior and lots of tvs. It's nice to have the addition to Edmonds, but not sure it's worth the price. read more

Honestly to charge 20% surcharge on all guests... Don't get me wrong I understand it goes for higher wages... but the service is missing to justify this. B Waiting for drinks by and served last when arrived first. I like to control my tip. As a tip is based on service not a guarantee of possible good service. Interior is very nice- large center bar, bright. Food was okay- nothing super great, but a B+. Happy hour pricing was about right, regular prices seem high for a basic burger that is over $20 regular. Also the "service charge" of 22% is fine, but should be printed on the menus and explained a little better than when the server showed us to the table and said oh, there is a 22% service charge on everything. We were what does that mean? The waiter later explained that no tip is needed- they are paid more so that covers it in essence. The electronic payment device did also offer additional tip options that were 1-2% additional for the waiter. I do usually tip 20% based on quick mental math, but since a service charge is not normal it would be nice to avoid confusion since I'm seeing lots of reviews reacting negatively. Service overall was slow for a less than half full weekday, drinks also pretty weak. read more

Love this new addition to Edmonds! Wine selection is great (hoping they had a NZ Sav Blanc soon), food has been yummy with good portions, and the outside seating next to Molly Moon's is enjoyable with lots of shade. I've found the servers and hosts to be polite and energetic as well. read more

We were excited to try this new spot as it looked pretty cool. Hopefully they will figure out the issues in the future. Food was pretty bland and we had a not so great waiter. Ordered an Arnold Palmer, brought me a lemonade. Not a big deal, didn't say anything. We also didn't get our drinks until after our appetizer. I also Tried to order some malt vinegar for my fish, took forever and she brought me mayonnaise. Not a big deal, hopefully growing pains. However it's kind of irritating because they auto include a 22% gratuity and then give you the option to tip more. If given the option I would have probably not gone with 22%. read more

Gratuity is generally split with wait staff and kitchen staff, thus should be a reflection of the complete experience. My wife and I are long time residents of Edmonds and went into the Victor Tavern excited! Everything is new, nice and comfortable. It's a bit noisy, but it's a tavern. Our server was quick to our table with water and menus and told us it was his second day, all good. I ordered a beer and a blue burger, and my wife ordered the French dip. My beer arrived nice and cold. Shortly after, the food arrived, and it looked OK. That's when we were disappointed. The beef patty on my burger looked preformed, and that could be ok if it was a quality product. This was not. My burger was overcooked, dry, not juicy, and not much blue cheese. The best thing about the burger was the bun. Very blah. My wife's French dip was just ok,the bun was good, a fair amount of beef but overcooked. The auju was weak in color and lacked flavor. The fries were hot and tasty! This meal was $80 and had a 20% gratuity automatically included. I'm usually a 20% tipper for good service and food, less if it's not so good. After reading some negative reviews when they opened a month ago I decided to wait to see if they would course correct. They have not. Walked in to a 90% empty restaurant. Could not get a table for some reason, so I sat at the bar. After sitting and waiting for about 10 minutes after staff walked by me 10 times without a hello or a glass of water, I left. It was empty. The bar was 90% empty. The majority of the people there were staff. Hey owners and management -- make a big change or please leave this location so someone who knows how to run a restaurant can take it. read more

Arrived at 4:40, ordered 3 entrées and an appetizer. Waited an hour while multiple other tables came, ate, and went. One person in our party finally got their meal and after another 15 minutes when we asked about our food we were met with a very short "it's coming." Another 15 minutes later we asked again and were told "we don't give people things in the order they arrive but in the order they come out." Still no appetizer and no other entrées and multiple groups received what we ordered (who got there way later than us) so we decided to leave. Oh and they offered my toddler free chicken strips because they made extra, about 30 minutes in and never saw those either. We were so excited to see another fresh restaurant open up, but after trying it once, that's it for us. I think the flat service fee of 20% is going to be the ruin of them. While the restaurant was clean and fresh, the food was ok. We watched as all the wait staff meandered around without any hustle. It took over 10 minutes to receive a $5 kids soda. Water glasses had tomato seeds floating in them. After paying for an absurdly priced soft drink, it took so long to receive, it was flat, and there was never an offer of a refill, we had to request them. The food was ok, but not worth the price. This was our first visit - we were not impressed with the service. We made a reservation and were seated right away, ordered drinks, but the Gin & Tonic I ordered was Gin & Water. The waitress took it back and brought me another - but it was the same. She said she'd come back and ask if it was right ... and then never came back. The only time she came back was to get us our check. Were they not automatically putting a 20% service charge on the bill, we wouldn't have tipped very highly. The burgers were excellent; my wife ordered a burger that was going to have breaded onion rings on it, but with a gluten free bun. Four of us and 2 had burgers and 2 had Reubens. The burgers were good but not "5* great" by any means and certainly not $25 worth. The Reuben was tough....like the meat was grisly and hard to chew and the whole sandwich was dry. We ordered more secret sauce which helped "juice" it up but still the meat was tough. The required 20% surcharge is ridiculous on top of their already steep prices. Facility wise: the outdoor seating is really nice but people, really, handles on the bathroom faucets? That wastes soooo much water; they really need motion sensing faucets to conserve water. There's a dangerous spot in the flooring walking from the bathroom where the raised bar linoleum interfaces with the overall flooring. My grandmother tripped on it. Not good. So many wonderful eating establishments in Edmonds and this isn't one of them, especially if you want a good Reuben. read more

Honestly I was dissapointed. The main problem is the tipping policy. There is a flat 22% tip put on the bill, then when you go to pay with your card there is an option to tip. Ridiculous. Not a complete review as we didnt actually end up sitting down. I visited with my mom on Sunday afternoon for lunch. DT Edmonds was bustling and mom picked the Victor since it was new and she hadn't been there before. We walked into an almost empty restaurant from what I saw (1 large group in the room next to the host stand and 2 tables in what I guess would be considered the bar area). We stood at the host stand for a good couple minutes before an employee (turns out she was the host) greeted us from behind. She had just cleared a table and said she would be right back with us. A few minutes later she returned, we asked for a table for 2. We were offered outdoors first which we declined When I asked for a table indoors we were told we could sit at the bar. I wouldn't mind sitting at the bar except I was with my 83 year old mom who is like 5'2" and the barstools dont have backs. Did I mention the restaurant was nearly empty? I declined. We left and went to another place down the street and had a lovely lunch. Seems like training and manager presence is REALLY needed here. We were greeted with such indifference..not to mention left standing there while there were multiple employees hanging out by the kitchen. Then to be offered bar stools in an empty restaurant when Im with an elderly person? Come now. If you guys wanna slap service fees on checks at your restaurants I would HIGHLY suggest offering some level of service. read more
