Had a Frigidaire refrigerator under Lowe's extended warranty where compressor and fan intermittently not coming on and not cooling. After going through Assurant warranty and being assigned Video Repair Place, they reached out via text message to get further details about problem and the model of refrigerator. They then messaged to confirm appointment date and time several days out and the day before with window of arrival time for repair. On day of repair, the repair technician, Don, called when he was about 30-45 mins out again to confirm. Really appreciated the direct communication. Don arrived with replacement part in hand - he was very familiar with model of my refrigerator and the known issue with the defrost timer. In 5 mins he replaced the timer and the fridge came on and started cooling immediately. He was very personable and knowledgeable. Not sure about all these other negative reviews but I had a *great* experience and would recommend and use the company and Don in the future. read more

They set an appt for repair for 48 hrs after contact, no show, no call, no nothing, you have to nag them to get any info at all. 3. I have used these folks in the past and they were great. However they have changed their days of operation and everything on their web page is no longer true. The say they work on Flat Screen TVS of all brands. Now they don't anymore. They do not work on Flat screen TVs. All they want to do is come to your house now. Even thought their Web page says if you bring in your TV it will save you money. They told me they no longer have technicians working there and all they want to do is to make an appointment with a Tech to come to your house for a minimum of $137.00. Our TV went out and the Geek Service with Best Buy confirmed an appointment for the repair. They called and said they needed to change the date due authorization of parts. They haven't even checked the TV so this is unacceptable. I spoke with Best Buy and they assured me we were high on the priority list and again confirmed the appointment. This morning we were called and told they can't come out. Need authorization for parts. I called and spoke with woman and told her that was unacceptable and she hung up. I'm giving one star because zero stars was not an option. DO NOT USE THIS PLACE!!! The technician, Jakob, was supposed to call me before he arrived, he didn't. So I waited for him all day. He arrived with no part. Someone from his office had to bring him the part. The part was wrong so he couldn't Complete the repair. He told Me that he'd order the part and return to complete the repair and that I'd hear From the office to set up the appointment. Over a week later I hadn't heard from them So I called them. I had to call Many Times before Anyone answered the phone. Finally someone answered and I was told that my claim had been closed and that I wasn't even on their schedule anymore!!!! These are the rudest most unprofessional people. I don't know how they are still in business. Samsung tried to set me up with them to fix my washer and they never showed up and when I called they told me "don't listen to Samsung because they don't schedule us." I asked when they were going to show up and I was told I needed to tell them what the problem is over the phone so they could order the parts and when they came in they would call me in a few weeks to set up a time for repair. How can they diagnose a problem over the phone and order parts when they don't check to see what is actually broken. I hope Samsung stops using them. Our Vizo 65" was going black screen while streaming, since it is under warranty we called Walmart and they set the appointment up for the next day. This company calls us the next day and says it will be another week because they have to order the parts. The repair guy shows up today and advises me that the TV needs to be laying flat somewhere for him to work on but fuses to remove the TV from the stand it was on because : quote " we don't have insurance and if I drop it we'll have to pay for it " Excuse me !!! No insurance? Why not ? " It's too expensive and our company is barely keeping our heads above water "So if they break anything , including themselves, it will come out of his pocket or ours. Company canceled my warranty call on Monday by vm stating they did not have my serial or manufactures number on my fridge today. then lied to the warranty company that the service tech didn't come in today and that is why they canceled it. This appt was scheduled last week and I cleared my schedule for them to come today. They called me back and said they never left me a vm stating my appt was canceled today. I not only have the original vm I also have the transcript of the vm. The lady in the phone who finally called me back told me they didn't have the info on the fridge and that they didn't tell the warranty company that the tech was a no show at work. He was very professional and respectful since he called first to give me an update on his ETA. Took three attempts to finally get a repair man out, yet he couldn't fix the problem and actually introduced more problems. When we thought we had finally got it fixed the fourth time I discovered afterwards it really wasn't fixed. I called them several times and left messages, but no one ever returned my call nor to honor the 30 day repair warranty. The repair authorization was coordinated by the manufacturer, so thankfully after lodging a complaint with the manufacturer, they authorized a different company to take a crack at figuring it all out and undoing the mess that this repair shop did. So if you heed my advice, avoid this place like the plague: a disreputable business that definitely doesn't stand by their work. I read previous reviews, SPOT ON! 1st Tech was rude, disrespectful, wanted to charge me FULL price for something covered under warranty, i had to call SAMSUNG 3 way so they could let him know. I requested another tech to avoid him, he was just as rude on the phone, would not work with our schedule He came out and said he fixed it and our freezer would work in 24 hours, it did not! The worst customer service ever! I purchased my samsung fridge from best buy and after less than 2 years the fridge had issues. Best buy first scheduled the repair appointment the next day. Then on that day no one showed and we received a call from this terrible company. They stated the best buy appointments are not final. They could not get to my house until a week later because they had to order parts. on the appt day they called and said they would arrive at 9:30am. So I left work and rushed home and no one ever showed up. Apparently the part did not arrive and the office manager never got around to calling me back. Another week has passed and I'm still without a fridge and they cannot confirm if the part will arrive by the appt day. I have to keep calling and ask because they never call to provide updates. It looks to me like their business model is to give horrible warranty service for corporations so that those corporations don't have to actually honor their warranties. I had them come out because my fridge from Lowes was leaking, and the ice maker wasn't working. The tech who came out was not friendly even on the phone. I had to wait a very long time for him to actually come out. They won't work with you at all on scheduling--basically, you better take a day off. No estimate for what time they'd be there day of service until day of service. A tech comes out, opens the back of my fridge, and just starts taking pictures. He says there is evidence of a rat or rats having been back there, calls lowes, says he isn't going to fix anything. My fridge not working is my fault because i've had an infestation. I didn't realize i must be sleeping with rats every night. Scew this company, and screw Lowes and any other corporation that tries to sell its customers warranties and then use these shady tactics to prevent honoring them. As far as I'm concerned, Lowes is in breach of contract. If a rat or a mouse getting behind my fridge causes it to malfunction, that sounds like a design flaw. If you have a dark, warm space with easy access to water, then the plumbing should probably be made of something that mice don't like to chew on. I got a warranty on my fridge and dishwasher. Every time a tech from a variety of these warranty contract companies has come out, they are talking about rats, roaches, and ants before they even get to the appliance. This tech from Video Repair Place actually told me not to get mad at him because it is Lowes policy. Hey, Video Repair Place, you agreed to do this Lowes contract entailing basically coming out to find a reason to deny warranty work. Your online reviews are already full of 1 star ratings, which leads me to believe it must be more profitable for you to keep these contracts than give any thought to customer service. I hope these corporate contracts pay well for you, and I hope that I never have to deal with your company again. I bought a replacement lamp for my DLP TV from The Video Repair Place and they charged me $170 for the lamp. Other places were only charging around $100 for the same lamp unfortunately the other repair places were out of stock and was going to be about two weeks before they would have the right replacement lamp in. Not only is The Video Repair Place way over priced they are very rude from the guy I spoke with on the phone to the guy that I picked up the lamp from (which was the tech). The tech was very arrogant as well when I was explaining to him how over priced they were. The techs response to me was "supply and demand I guess since we are the only shop in town that has the right lamp for your TV so we can charge what we want." If I didn't have kids and a wife that really wanted the big screen working I would have waited for the other repair stores to order the lamp. Not happy with this place. Samsung set up a repair job for our washer, but upon further discussion, it was not going to be covered under warranty. So I called this repair place to cancel the service. They said that they got notice that it was covered. I did tell them what I was told from the Samsung rep, but they said the order came over as covered. Well on the day of service, they did not show up, I called and this video repair place said it was not covered afterall and was told that I no longer needed the service. Well it would have been nice for them to call and confirm what I needed, and maybe they should stick to video repair and leave warranty jobs to others. read more
