My friends and I attended restaurant week this fall at Shires. None of us had ever been before, and I'd love to try it out again when the weather is nicer so we can take advantage of the Rooftop. Our server was attentive - quickly catching on to the likes/dislikes/quirks of our group and capitalizing on them (hello extra cherries with our cocktails lol). We all ordered something different to create a bit of a smorgasbord to sample the entire restaurant week menu. I loved the beef wellington bites, mussels, and chicken roulade. The old fashioned was chef's kiss!

I tried to offer more grace as we visited during Restaurant Week, but I can only give soo much grace. We arrived on time for our reservation. They brought us water but didn't take a drink order for 20 full minutes. The food was very slow to arrive- while I generally love a long dinner this was excessive- I love the ambience and atmosphere- the rooftop was enchanting- The sad thing was the food was actually flavorful- they have a special cooking method-

We continue to love love this place. My husband and I come here either for Valentine's Day or our anniversary. It's become one of our favorite restaurants to go to when we know we are willing to spend quite a lot of money. They have a great view from all of their windows and the place is just great overall. Ambience is very comfortable and service has always been top notch. Food is always good and there's really no complaints at all! You can either park in the garage across the street or find Street parking. Walk in and they have their own elevator that goes up to the very top. Reservations are recommended!

Really good brunch, loved the service and the views are impeccable. I enjoyed the stuffed French toast.

Wonderful birthday experience at the Shireś Rooftop! Beautiful decor throughout. Sultry lighting, and stunning color scheme. Greeted & sat immediately. I opted to get a Moscow Mule. Crafted with care & absolutely delicious. You can tell they make their mixers in house! The feast for two was everything & more. The Caesar salad was gone before I could even get a picture! Steaks were cooked perfectly mid-rare & We enjoyed the fingerling potatoes & Goat cheese broccolini. My favorite part might have been the rooftop remoulade with the grilled shrimp! . The margarita I had was desirable. Again, house made mixes make a difference! Last but not least, They brought out a Cinnamon Toast Crunch crème brûlée & enough spoons for the table to share overall, I'll be back for brunch!

We decided to celebrate my birthday in Cincinnati and we got sooo lucky with the beautiful weather. The weather has been so hit or miss so I was of course thrilled to get to enjoy some rooftops! We love the summertime and we love to be able to enjoy rooftop drinks all summer. This was the perfect place to celebrate! The menu is pretty vast so we were excited to see a feast for two! And let me tell you, this was quite a feast. Two types of steak, chicken, salmon, and shrimp. You also get a choice of two sides. We chose Mac and cheese and the potato fingerlings. The price was very reasonable - $120 was definitely worth it for all of this food. We devoured what we could and still had left overs to bring back to our VRBO. The views were gorgeous and we loved the atmosphere. Definitely heck it out!

Nice restaurant "hidden" away on the 10th floor. It has great views of the Ohio river and Roebling bridge. The atmosphere inside has an 'old club' feel. While others mentioned service as a stumbling block, our service was very good- attentive and timely. The pork chop was very flavorful as were the fingerling potatoes. We split the yummy hazelnut filled beignets for dessert.

The decor and view make this a hidden gem. I skipped the balcony. It was just too hot for me! There are cozy places to sit with a group of friends. Someone was hosting a 40th birthday party in a section with another bar. The drink that i had and the service was outstanding! The crab cake tastes a bit off for some reason. I can't put my finger on that after taste. While it didn't taste like much filler, I would skip it next time. The artichoke spread was a nice shareable! Great crust! The braised short rips were very tender! Served with root veggies, you really needed a starch and fewer root veggies. Overall...I would definitely go back, especially before an event at Paycor!

Ambiance here was great! We had a greenhouse on the rooftop for our party of 8. Unfortunately they are not see through so you do not get a view from the rooftop. I get that large parties are a lot, but there were a couple mishaps with our experience. My burger and my boyfriend's burger were swapped, he removed all of the toppings and his came with toppings. Bacon on his burger was missing. Spinach artichoke appetizer never came out. Waitress offered me a purse hanger and forgot to come back with it. At the end of the night, they were unable to split the check based on what each person had ordered, so we all had to figure out how much each person owed and venmo one person. It was slightly hectic but overall we had a nice experience. I will say the burger was nothing special, I'd say go for something a little nicer if you come here. The sway cocktail was incredible!

    Cute decor

Our server, Chloe, introduced herself with a smile and provided us with a quick refresher. I knew from her energy that we were going to be in great hands for the evening. (and I was not wrong, lol) Chloe was personable, attentive, friendly, and down to earth. The service she provided us was excellent! I ordered the Swamp Thing for a cocktail. Sweet, fruity, and pretty... that green cocktail did exactly what it needed to do, lol. FIVE STARS! Now, on to the food... The Gator Bites are a MUST. I ordered the hot honey sauce on the side just to play it safe and I am glad I did, because babyyyy, that spice had no boundaries. If you're a lover of spicy things, you'll be good to order as is, lol! I also ordered the Roasted Oysters. Another MUST! The oysters had a parmesan crust with lemon garlic butter drizzled over them... They were gone in minutes! I was on the fence for my entree, but then my girl Chloe clocked that Pasta Mardi Gras and the rest is history. It was creamy, savory, and packed with flavor. I knew my girl wouldn't let me down! Our experience was excellent! I definitely recommend reservations. Pappadeaux wasn't terribly busy when we arrived, but by the time we finished up & headed out, they had a line out the door. If you're in the Cincy area, add to your foodie list! Overall, a great restaurant for a GNO, date night, or any celebration.

For appetizers, we had the roasted oysters and the hot honey gator bites. Everything was phenomenal. The special had a white wine sauce to die for and everything was wonderfully seasoned, I also had my salmon blackened which was chef's kiss. The gator bites were tender like chicken and the oysters were so flavorful! For the drink, I had the Swamp Thing cocktail and I was happily buzzed after finishing it. It was sweet, refreshing and the alcohol wasn't overpowering. Highly recommend Pappadeaux's if you're ever in the Cincinnati area!!! Customer Service: Chloe was our waitress and she was knowledgeable, sociable, funny and caring. She did a wonderful job in giving recommendations and telling us about the specials. She checked on us consistently and was never overbearing. The staff was timely with the appetizers, and the ebb and flow of the crowd seemed under control and all waiters/waitresses were ensuring orders were correct. Thank you Chloe for the top-tier service!! Ambiance: Pappadeaux's is typically upscale causal to business casual, but everyone is free to come as they are! It is family friendly for all ages. The decor gives an intimate open dining vibe. When it gets busy, it's BUSY. But the wait will be worth it! I guarantee there is something for everybody. This place is perfect for any occasion, celebration, graduation, birthday, date night, family dinner, a day trip - whatever your heart desires. The Cincy location is the best!

I'm not a crawfish person (too much work) so I usually get the Louisiana BBQ shrimp (which is NOT BBQ sauce - it's like butter and herbs and it's spicy but in a cumin way, not a Tabasco way). This time I got the wings that come with the same sauce and they are 10/10. Ranch dressing is housemade and the real deal. The char-grilled oysters are not to be missed. Happy hour has deals on both food and drink (as all good happy hours should) and includes oysters. Overall, prices are super fair because the portions are huge and most things come with a side or two. The jambalaya is worth bringing home if you don't have room and the cornbread is moist even the next day. And it's weird but I like the side salads, they aren't just white iceberg lettuce and two cherry tomatoes. Service has always been great. You can't get seated until at least half of your party is there but that's fair. We accidentally got a table for six and had eight show up and they just let us pull up a couple chairs and get in their way but acted like it was no big deal. Get there early because it fills up quick, including the parking lot. It's an old-school restaurant and the decor fits. It's got corny signs, tables made out of wine barrels and a fireplace in the corner. There is outside seating that I haven't sat at (I mean it overlooks a parking lot and there is usually someone smoking but at least it's there). There is a grumpy but capable bartender and young people working the host/ess stand who greet you cheerily and always say goodbye on the way out. Swampwater is right next to the Riverside Antique Mall, so make it a day and do some shopping beforehand. Both are more than worth the visit.

We hadn't checked on the website, but found out Thursday is oyster day, with $1 oysters and fried oysters and $1.50 for Oyster Bienville. The fried oysters were delicious. The raw oysters were good, though I had one that was gritty. We are going again in two weeks and will try the Oyster Bienville along with other assorted oysters. Two of us had the special Pan Seared Sea Bass. It came highly recommended and did not disappoint. The crisp on the top was delicious and the fish itself was delicate and moist. It did indeed melt in my mouth. The potatoes were very good, though I didn't finish all of them. The greens were good. Mark had a ribeye and is still raving about it today. He ordered the preparation version made with just salt and pepper. He also had a cup of gumbo. He said it had an amazing depth of flavor. We wrapped up with dessert. Three folks had Key Lime Pie.
