Former tenant. (I have not been paid to write this or even asked to. If you jump over to my review of CarZone, then you will made well aware of my disgust with fake paid reviews.) It should be acknowledged that The View has a new manager. I actually went in today to speak with the new (and much friendlier) office staff who delightfully assisted me with a personal matter. Not only did they kindly help me without rushing or giving dirty looks, they treated me no less than a future resident. The fact that they did this, is a significant indicator and reflection of the type of people you are dealing with. This type of staff is rare. Kindness in leasing offices is RARE. I would not mind being a tenant of such awesome and genuinely nice women! Due to such an unexpectedly good treatment, I felt the need to come and write about my old residence since I remembered that I have yet to do one. I loved everything about The View when I lived there except for the old office staff. Good for you future tenants -- you don't have to worry about that! Apartment unit: *Three words: clean, upgraded and roomy. * full-size washer and dryer *stainless steel refrigerator *four burner stove *double sink *espresso finish cabinets *microwave *beautiful bathroom *balcony There is so much room and it felt GREAT to live in a modern apartment complex. Parking lot: Like any other apartment complex, parking can be a problem some times when people fail to park in their designated area; but it's nothing to complain about. This is multi-residential living, not single family housing living -- its to be expected. Swimming pool: My kids loved it. It's big enough for those who live there and is always clean. Gym: When I was there, there weren't any free weights or much at all but tread mills as well as a couple of other machines. Nonetheless, it worked for what I needed. Location: Located right off of Highway 395. Very close to many restaurants, banks, gyms, gas stations, schools, Winco and Ross. The instant access to all of these is a big time saver and gas saver! The View is great for families (nearby schools and family restaurants, short drives to grocery store , retail store and banks) and it's also great for single people (close proximity to downtown, hair salons, nail salons, bars, etc). Whoever you are, whatever you need, The View WILL satisfy, guarantee. read more

I really tried to like this place. I lived at the view for 1 year during that year my car was trampled upon, someone placed their hand in mud and smear my car. One day I came downstairs my car was vandalized with eggs, I reported it to the office and they told me to file a police report . Upon the renewal of my lease I got a notice that if I renewed 1 month before I would get $100 off each renewal months rent. I went ahead because I was not scared of RACISM. All miss leading information, the second month after renewal came with the raise. I call the office and the let me know the office was under new management and they couldn't do anything about it, she said my only option is that I could move. I asked her if it would cost me extra she said no. No problem I put my notice in, I then got an email that it would cost me almost $4,000 to move out. I went back to the office spoke with the manager and agreed on a month to month and I paid all the total on my bill. I moved out and now I got a new bill of all the stuff I need to pay for , I won't be getting back any of my $600 deposit plus I owe an additional almost $400 which includes a payment for month to month charges. The staff is friendly, the area is quiet, maintenance is always quick and helpful, and they have community events like food trucks and a cornhole tournament!. UPDATE (after seeing owner response): I haven't received any contact via phone or email from The View since this review yet the owner claims they attempted to contact me. I wanted to clear that up before someone gets gaslit into living here based on the owner's response to my experience. The cost of utilities I was charged here have still been the highest I've paid in utilities in all of the apartments I have lived in to date. I frequently called to make sure they weren't reading the wrong meter. We had moved out a month early and the utility bill remained as high as months when we did live a full month there. Also, I feel the way trash and sewer is divided amongst tenants is unfair. It was explained to me that trash and sewer was split equally amongst all of the units, this did not differ between one bedroom units and three bedroom units. So unfortunately if you are a two bedroom household you're still getting charged the same amount of trash as a family of four. I understand this is policy but I just want to warn others that their utilities will run high. As far as the fees I mentioned that are impossible to get out of. Although the fees are small the cost range depending on payment type, (ACH, Credit Card, Check) and all of them had a fee. I am personally one to try and avoid unnecessary fees and had emailed a leasing manger at the time of living there who told me that all of their payment options had fees. So if there was a free option, the leasing manager neglected to tell me and it was not an option in the booklet they provided at move in on how to pay rent. I was not given the option to walk the apartment before signing our lease but I understand how I should've asked. It should be policy to walk the unit before signing so future residents don't need to ask. My move in inspection form included many issues I had with the apartment including the scuffs, missing items, dents, etc. We did the inspection immediately upon move in. It wasn't until a week later when we fully moved that we found tampons behind the drawers of the bathroom cabinet, tampons and socks under and around the washer/dryer, bugs and crumbs on the top of the cabinets and in drawers. For the toilet concerns, I didn't know Reno was known for hard water which contributes to the mold growing in the toilet. I have never had a mold issue before or after moving into the apartment. I won't be blaming the hard water. I had to bleach clean the toilet at the end of every week to keep it from taking over the toilet. I understand you having your staffs back and admire that but I did indeed get yelled at by (I believe Michelle) when requesting a maintenance order for the black mold growing in my toilet. When I explained to her that I attempted to clean it with bleach but it continued to grow back she yelled at me that I should have never tried to fix the issue without consulting management first. Maybe we interpreted the conversation differently? After the conversation I stopped bleaching the toilet only for the maintenance guy to tell me that it was definitely black mold and to buy bleach tablets to fix it. What's the point in discussing the concerns if you're just going to lie and deny them? At the end of the day I would not recommend these apartments. The staff is not friendly and they do not care about your safety. Again, there are plenty friendlier, affordable, and cleanly apartments near UNR. Don't let these people take advantage of you or lie to you! read more

Most dishonest and artificial (fake) staff to lease from. They will attempt to woo you into signing a lease here by any means necessary. Without showing you the actual room you are renting. Expect to pay $200+ in unnecessary fees monthly. On top of the already expensive rent price. Don't expect to receive your security deposit when you move out either. There is nothing luxury about "The View" as they don't offer elevators. Just some old creaky stairwells without adequate lighting. Parking is horrible. Dog feces can be found all around the property. Crime is rampant and management refuses to provide assistance or details concerning vehicle break-ins/ thefts/burglaries. Almost as if they are pulling an insider job. Even when it occurs directly under the cameras. They refuse to disclose footage, almost as if the cameras are used for them to monitor tenants activities. Not to identify criminals that frequent the property. This is from personal experience. Gates are always broken, which is quite deceiving as they advertise themselves as being a gated community. Maintenance staff have been reported unlawfully taking tenants belongings without consent. Red-handed without any remorse. Reported by room mates and neighbors. Everyone moves here, expecting a somewhat decent experience living here. I, myself, fellow neighbors and roommates beg to differ. The only decent amenity they offer is a tiny swimming pool and 24 hour gym that has minimal equipment. read more

Loved the apartments and staff ... UNTIL WE MOVED OUT AND THEY TRIED TO SCREW US OVER BY CHARGING US FOR NONSENSICAL THINGS. "Heavy cleaning" (it was just my 2 sons and I, so I don't understand this charge, they ended up repainting and replacing the carpet so WHAT HEAVY CLEANING?!); "carpet replacement" (because the dirty carpets that they hadn't replaced in probably 10 years needed to be changed and why not charge us because we decided not to do a walk through, trusting they wouldn't screw us over?!), and "tub replacement" due to heavy discoloration (I was the only person who used that shower/tub and I have no clue what discoloration they're talking about! and they want to charge us $600.00 for it!!). They even charged us $18 "late charges" because they finally got around to charging us for utilities from a few months before, which is mind-boggling because they charge you that on a monthly basis?! Anything to nickel and dime tenants who decide to move out, I guess. Yep, forget about normal wear and tear, they will nickel and dime you when you move out so they can keep as much of your security deposit as possible. UN-EFFING-BELIEVABLE. Oh, and the staff WAS great about getting things fixed - before we put in our notice, repairs were fast! If I called in the morning, they usually got someone out that day or the next day. UNTIL ... after we gave our notice, our dryer stopped working and when I called, on a Tuesday, they told me they wouldn't be able to get someone to look at it until FRIDAY. I was shocked because they were usually so quick to get someone out. BUT I GUESS, ONCE YOU'RE ON YOUR WAY OUT, THEY DON'T GIVE A DAMN. And as stated above, we loved living at The View, even with the crazy people they started renting to out of desperation! We lived in the gated apartment at the top of Selmi Drive, and initially, our neighbors were decent people. Then one by one, the neighbors near our unit moved out and a crazy lady moved in. This lady parked her vehicle next to ours and if you didn't know her, you could tell she was a big A-Hole from how she parked - really close to the line next to our vehicle, so we'd have to park as far away as possible in order to open the door to get out. There's an encounter that I will not go into, but let's just say the caliber of people moving in were not that great. At any rate, I personally trust people to be honorable, to my own detriment. Now, I have to dispute their charges and probably end up in small claims court. *SIGH* read more

I lived at the View apartments for over 3 years, and I had such a good experience. I only moved out because I was leaving Reno, and I truthfully told the View staff that I wished I could just move them with me, because I didn't want to give up the amazing service they provide. The staff is just excellent(especially Jaymee & Michelle, who have worked there for years). Any time I needed something they were on top of it right away. I've never experienced such consistent excellence. One of the things that I appreciated the most was their responsiveness to noise complaints. Unlike most places I've lived, when I reported a noise complaint, an employee would actually head over to my building right away to verify the noise themselves, then they would contact the tenants for that apartment. I am a very light sleeper and I work from home, so this was huge for me. I can't recommend the View enough. I am shocked to see bad reviews on here, and I honestly don't believe what they're saying, because my experience was so different from those negative claims, and it was consistently great over the 3 years I lived there. read more

So, I have been staying at The View for about, 3-4 months, and I have to say for what it's worth and location, this is by far one of the best apartments I have ever seen. I read some of the bad reviews and I have to disagree with almost every single one. Sure there is a couple hiccups here and there but overall, their leasing contract is great, maintenance is fantastic, the staff is excellent, and might I add the person who replies to the bad reviews (makes me laugh on every comment they leave). It is a welcoming environment. The only downside is that the front gate seems to be broken often leaving the gate open. I guess The View loves being overly welcoming. read more

Parking-awful, neighbors-rude, managers will take every penny from you they can. take all the pictures you can and cover yourself because these people are crooks and they're nice up until the last second when you can't do anything about it. I moved to Reno from the Bay Area and was so happy to find this place! I wasn't able to come to see the apartment in person so Brittany and Jaymee FaceTimed with me just so I could see it! Ever since I've moved in, there has been great communication from the staff - emails with updates and letters at your door, they are always helpful when you go into the office and the maintenance crew is awesome! They just made the pools year round (yeah!) and having free popcorn, water, and coffee in the clubhouse is great! Yes, there isn't enough guest parking, but there are spaces out front and along the street. I have a 2 bed/2 bath and there is so much space, I love it! I'm on the second floor and my view is out towards the city; it's so pretty at night and I can see the fireworks! It's great having a washer and dryer in your unit and having all the other amenities is a huge plus (granite countertops, hardwood floors in the kitchen and bathrooms, microwave, dishwasher, lots of cupboard space, AC, lots of lights). There are playgrounds for the kids, lots of dogs around and overall, happy people. It's a great community to live in and if you can find an apartment here, you should take it! read more

I have been living at The View since October of 2014; the apartment complex is clean, the staff (Gio, Jaymee and Brittany) have been fantastic--I will touch on that in a bit--and the property maintenance workers are courteous and they have satisfied my maintenance issues quickly. The general environment is quiet, there is a healthy amount of parking, and short of inconsiderate tenants who do not pick up after their dogs, the grounds are pleasant to look at and have a nice, comfortable atmosphere. In regards to the staff: When I first moved in I had a very quiet experience; however, after 6 months into my lease, new tenants moved in over me--they smashed around upstairs, banged around until two or three in the morning, and even resorted to screaming matches at two in the morning prompting a swift bang on their door to keep them quiet. After a couple of attempts to engage with the neighbors to come to a compromise, it was clear my neighbors had no desires to be neighborly. At this time I worked graveyard at my job and decided to shrug it off: I would wear headphones through most of the day, and I slept with ear plugs. Once my wife returned from college to stay with me permanently, it became clear they had increased their discourteous behavior; my wife was woken up night after night because of a loud television, running appliances after 9 PM, and general thumping and stomping around. I then started to file complaints with the front office. Jaymee was extremely hard-working and sacrificial in her efforts to confirm noise complaints: she came to my home nearly a dozen times, often after 11 PM and even sick a couple times. She was always extremely apologetic and worked hard to cross every "t" and dot every "i" to effectively deal with the situation because it was becoming stressful and unappetizing to live in the noisy conditions. Brittany became involved after the noise complaints were confirmed and she attempted to make contact with the owners who were obstinate and eventually laid down the law with the obnoxious, petulant upstairs tenants. Unfortunately, they were unwilling to acquiesce and this gave Brittany few options. Enter Gio: with Jaymee's dedicated labor laying the groundwork, Brittany and Gio came to me with a proposal on how to solve the conflict. I won't go into detail, but they bent over backwards to take good care of me. I knew they enjoyed me as a tenant--I pay rent on time, I am friendly etc.--but it was extremely encouraging and vindicating for me to see I was a valued tenant and they didn't want to lose me. The living conditions here at The View are stellar and well worth the money; the staff is extremely helpful and very friendly and if you take a little time out of your day to laugh and joke with them, rest assured, they will take very good care of you. read more

Honestly this was a really nice place to live. The staff was nice and maintenance was really great as well. I really had no complaints the whole time we lived there. However be prepared to pay up when it comes to moving out. You will get little to no deposit back. When they did our inspection the guy says they pretty much repaint every single apartment no matter how good it looks. That was about $250. They also like to put in new carpet too. They hit us with a bunch of cleaning fees and in the end it was about $700 in charges. It was as if we completely destroyed the place! We left that apartment in near perfect condition. I really regret spending so much time taking care of our place, if I had just known it was for nothing. Like I said no real complaints living there i just feel they are ridiculous upon moving out. read more

This is a great apartment complex and close to everything that Reno has to offer. Its very close to UNR and downtown and Winco shopping center. I lived here on a month to month base waiting for my house to be finished. I really enjoyed the time I was there, which was about three months. My apartment was awesome and for a one bedroom it was very spacious! Security was good with the locked entrance gate. Although I lived here in the winter months the pool is a very nice area. The grounds are kept clean and nice. The staff in the office is wonderful and Gio is the BEST of the BEST to work with :) I would highly recommend this apartment complex! read more

Apartment living is not for everyone but if you chose one to call home "The View" luxury apartments is the place. It's a beautiful community in a great location. My husband and I have been here for six months now. After living in a house and raising a big family we decided it was time to downsize. We like the freedom to enjoy our spare time and the maintenance is taken care of. The spacious kitchen, the walk in closet and the master bathroom are the features I like most.We have great property managers that respond to any questions or needs without haste. I work in a retail environment so I truly can appreciate their tenant relations and service. Yes, I like to use our wonderful gym but I also like making fun coffee combination drinks when visiting the office. If you are looking for an apartment home, this is the place! This is an update to my previous review. I wish I could give The View Apartments 6 stars. I do agree with other reviewers about the guest parking. I believe this is resolved with the advent of guest parking passes. The staff is still awesome. One thing I have noticed living in different apartment complexes is the way the staff treats you AFTER you sign the lease. The View is certainly the best apartment community in Reno. First of all, it's close to the freeway. I work north of Reno so it fortunately puts me in a spot that's still in Reno. I'm paying $1295/month for a 1 bedroom apartment that's 892 sq ft. That's a good deal compared to what you'd get in other states such as Washington and California. W/S and service fee are additional and usually adds to $50/month. NVEnergy (electricity) for me, runs at an average of $70/month. The thermostat can be programmed though you can always get a smart thermostat. The water fee is charged per square feet. There's also a good view from your apartment. If you want an even better view, it's at the leasing office. ;) They host some activities for the residents but not a lot. Unfortunately I've missed them all. I've explored a number of apartments in both Reno and Sparks, and I chose this one. Working up north was definitely a factor too. It's worth a visit; it won't disappoint you. read more

The View is great. Of course they offer well maintained, upscale apartments (with washer/dryer in each unit) pool, spa, fitness, lounge, rec. areas...the list goes on. So do a lot of other places. But what sets The View apart from the others is their staff. For example, we had to arrange a 2 person lease long distance and had a few glitches along the way. The View was always helpful, patient, and accommodating, returning phone calls promptly and answering any questions or concerns we had. This level of service has continued throughout. During the course of the lease, there were a few minor maintenance issues (loose towel bar, broken toilet seat hinge) which were quickly and happily addressed. Luxury apartments, lots of amenities and a friendly and accommodating staff...definitely recommend The View! read more

If you need maintenance work in your apartment, they are quick to put in a work order and be assured, they will follow up with you to make sure that the work was completed in a timely manner and to your satisfaction. I'll start this off by saying that no one has asked me to write this review nor have I been paid to write it (as is suggested in other comments). I moved to Reno from Los Angeles with knowing nobody in the area and wanted to make sure I had a secure, gated apartment complex with security, maintenance, and a prompt and friendly staff. I searched and visited all the complexes I found online and I have to say that my experience with the View from beginning to end (sadly it will be coming to an end because I am moving out of state) was nothing short of amazing compared to the other places I saw, and heard horror stories about. Unlike the other places I was considering, the View doesn't make their pictures online look prettier than it actually is, or be nice when showing you around and suddenly turn when you sign a lease. I will admit that there have been a few staff members that were not as nice and friendly as the two main girls, Jaymee and Britany, and lead manager, Gio, but those not-so-fabulous staff members are no longer there. Everytime I walk in, they're polite, friendly, and genuinely care to know that everything is going well with my experience. With regards to security and noise, there are very strict protocols that the security has to follow that are clearly marked in the lease agreement (for the few of us that actually read it), so I'm not sure what the below reviews are referring to about them "doing nothing." I can personally vouch for the View team going above and beyond what was necessary to accommodate an ongoing noise complaint that I had for my upstairs neighbors past 10pm. Since security is not allowed to enter a unit, and only a staff member can, there was a special set of instructions I could give to the security in order to have one of the staff who live on the property come to verify the noise when it was happening since it was after normal office hours. This was such a smart and clever solution to a problem that was really affecting my sleep and lifestyle. It led to the office speaking with my upstairs neighbors about it and the noise completely stopped. I appreciated that they took the time to not only investigate the issue but also made it fair by verifying that it was actually happening. They even offered $100 off my rent for the next month for all the inconvenience. Apartment living always has its pros and cons and anyone who thinks that they'll have the perfect place needs to reevaluate their expectations. Not every person working there is going to have a smile plastered on their face every second, you don't know what other security issues are going on at the same time as your noise complaint that may take priority, and there is always miscommunication in any environment. It actually offends me to read these negative reviews because I've lived here for a long time and I've never encountered anything like that. Overall, you would be lucky to live here and the only reason I'm not staying here is because I took a job out of state. For the price, amenities, and service, this is the best Reno can offer in my opinion. I can only hope that the new place I find is half as amazing as The View. read more

The view is the worst place to move into. They have "security" that comes to check out things during the late hours which is not true. I had some drunk guy outside of my window for over 2 hours crying about his girlfriend dumping his ass. Called security and they never showed up to handle the noise. When we receive our noise complaint, they contacted us right away with a verbal warning but when someone is outside our window crying and drunk no one is there to handle the situation. There was also a incident with a car that was parked in the uncovered space with a flat tire. Obviously couldn't move it so we contacted the front office to have them handle the situation. Let's just say I had to contact the front office 4 times before the car was removed. That's not acceptable. Just save the time and money to look elsewhere. Management is awful and so is the front desk workers. read more

I moved from Seattle to Reno last April to be closer to family. After looking at quite a few different places around Reno, The View was the only one I found that met all my criteria for a reasonable price. I really liked that they had garages for rent so that I had a place to keep my motorcycle in the colder months. I also appreciated the gas stove and appliances as well as air conditioning. The 1 bedroom is very spacious and I also appreciated that it was a newer building with a green energy rating for the construction. The insulation must be good since I rarely if ever hear my neighbors and I'm on the 2nd floor. The office is great about accepting packages for me and letting me know when they've arrived. I've enjoyed my first year at The View. I recently renewed my lease for another year after looking around once again to make sure I was still getting the best deal and I believe I am. I wasn't expecting it but as a bonus I received a free car detailing and apartment carpet cleaning just for renewing. That was a pleasant surprise. I plan on renting here until I decide to buy a house. Check the place out, I think you'll agree. read more

My fiancé and I moved out in October, so this is a few months late, but we absolutely loved living at this complex. We are very picky people and lived in 4 other locations within a 2 year period of time, and The View was absolutely amazing. They were timely in fixing problems we had, were never rude to us, and did everything in their power to make sure we were happy tenants. Not to mention the apartments are BEAUTIFUL. If we hadn't moved to California, we would have stayed there forever! The only reason I give them 4 stars is because they said they would return our carpet cleaning deposit if the carpets were replaced, and they tried 'scamming' us out of the money even though we knew they replaced the carpets (our good friend moved in after us). After discussing all of this with them, they ended up giving us the carpet cleaning deposit, however. Great company! We highly suggest them. read more

These were the first and only apartments my husband and I looked at when relocating from California. We fell in love immediately with The View Apartments. We have lived in several apartments over the past ten years ranging from California to Washington, yet these are the most impressive ones have come across. There are a myriad of reasons of why this is true such as the staff being extremely professional, helpful, and thorough, as well as genuine luxury apartment living in all aspects, and having security on site in addition to the gates around the complex. My husband and I lived in the complex for a year and a half. The apartment itself was beautiful and we loved the pool, hot tub, and work out areas. Our biggest complaint was the horrific parking situation. Each apartment only comes with one parking space. You can purchase a garage and pay a monthly fee but there were no garages near our building so we opted out of that option which meant that we were forced to fight for the minimal uncovered spots. There are multiple people living within the complex who have figured out ways to keep control of over half of the "open" spots so forget being able to park near your building. If you are going to be getting home after 6pm just plan on parking out on the street. We called maintenance/security multiple times to report cars that hadn't moved from their spots in weeks. At the end of our time living at The View we were extremely excited to be able to find a house to rent so that we never had to drive through an entire complex looking for parking only to be forced to park on the street again. Since the manager had my Yelp review mysteriously removed. I will re-post my original review, plus his comment to my review below. Please keep in mind all of the 5-star reviews are fake. Original review: "Do not move here. Horrible management. The two reviews giving it 5 stars are fake. All the real reviews the business has found ways to have Yelp remove them. We put down a deposit on a unit and withdrew our interest after being subjugated to their extremely unprofessional management and rude staff. They attempted to tell us we could not receive our holding deposit back until we reminded them of their own rules on the time period. We finally received a check in the mail almost a month later." Here's the manager's response. I've added my responses to his comments within the post: "I feel as if I know you on a personal basis as I bent over backwards for you and did everything I possibly could to help you and your partner Ryan move into one of our units in Building C. With that said I would like to refresh your memory with what actually happened over the period of time from when you made contact with us on 11/02/2104 to the time you cancelled on 11/06/2014. I will leave out most the details like how you both decided to cancel after you received the first holding agreement and demanded the price should be $15 lower. Then you reneged your cancel and decided you both wanted the unit after I compromised with you...." I do not know you on a personal basis and you have showed no class and professionalism within this post. I can tell this post was made emotionally and without forethought. You have illegally disclosed personal information about myself in your comment. I do not need a memory refresher. Your condescending tone in this post is laughable. Are you going to leave out details or not? We are customers and chose to exercise our right of legally canceling within the allotted time. If you do not want your customers doing that, I suggest you choose to eliminate this window. You lowering the price of rent was due to the fact that there was a price discrepancy over what you had posted on your Craigslist ad and what your office was trying to gouge us for during our visit. So you really never lowered the price at all, just avoided a potential case of false advertisement. We never re-signed after the initial cancel, another lie. "When you first called in and spoke with Charda you had a great experience and set up a tour. You toured with Brittany once as well as Charda once and seemed to be perfectly ok with price, move in date, location, etc. Everything was a demand a threat and anything we could do for you was apparently not good enough....." We had a horrible experience with "Charda" who was both extremely rude and disrespectful over the phone. You act as if we became belligerent when in fact we simply exposed your bait-and-switch scheme your office had been employing via Craigslist. Real classy. Are you saying we threatened you? That is slander. This comment is being taken as such. I do not take lightly to individuals blatantly lying about my family and I. I think I've already clearly described why the situation fell apart. Don't try to go on an attack spree against potential customers. Grow up. Did I give you permission to post this email on Yelp!? Nope. This e-mail very clearly discusses two illegal attempts on your businesses' part: 1. You attempted to inform us we could not have our holding agreement back after we canceled within the allotted time. Very illegal buddy. 2. You tried to lie about how much you could charge us for the pro-rated amount. Once again illegal. I am very proud of this e-mail. Thanks for showing it to all. "As you can see, once you cancelled the emails towards us were not quiet displayed in the best of light. At first, per our policy, we denied your $100 holding deposit refund because you did not cancel within the 72 hour time frame which was clearly written out on the holding agreement and told to both of you on numerous occasions. However after several threats like the one above..." Actually, we did cancel within 72 hours which has been confirmed and thus why we have our money back. You attempted to lie and state we did not cancel within 72 hours. How about you upload a copy of the Holding Agreement to show who the real scammer is? Once again libel and slander stating I threatened you. "In any case, I pray that we can set aside our differences and in the future if you are both "serious" about renting next time, please stop by our office for another tour. There are no differences. You have tried to make a business transaction personal which attests to your low level of professionalism. I suggest you carefully monitor your next post and please do not try to get Yelp! to take this one down as I will only escalate the matter. read more

Excellent office and maintenance team led by Gio who insists that his entire staff consistently achieve an extremely high set of standards; leads by example; a professional with a glowing personality and a "can do" attitude that results in 100% tenant satisfaction. He accomodated us beyond our wildest expectations when confronted with an issue that made us uncomfortable. We have lived here for over 1 and 1/2 years with no thoughts of ever moving again. Beautiful apartments. HORRIBLE MANAGEMENT. I had initially found this apartment complex on Craigslist for a deal. 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom for $900. Not bad. The apartment itself was great with its granite counter tops and wood flooring. Sadly enough, I did NOT renew my lease with them due to management problems during (and AFTER) my stay. Among my large list of issues with them, these (I hope) will be enough to make you think twice: 1. There was 1 month where my rent was suspiciously about $150 less than it normally was. Naturally I believed this to be a mistake and had gone to the management team about this. I was reassured that this was indeed the correct amount. Feeling skeptical about this I had gone back to the office the next day and asked one of the managers in charge if this was the correct amount. I was again, reassured that it was. Still not feeling 100% about this, my roommate decided to speak with ANOTHER person at the front office. For a third time, we were reassured that it was the correct amount and decided that we had our bases covered. The day after that month's rent was due, there was a notice taped to my door. What in the world could this be?? A notice that my rent had not been paid in full and that I was being charged an additional $50.00 fee every day my rent was late. Outraged by this, I did speak with management (AGAIN) about the fee where I was then told that rent can "sometimes be wrong." WHAT?? What kind of answer was that??? After much debate, they agreed to take the fee off, but the extra $150 would be added onto our next month's rent. Seeing as this was three times THEIR mistake, I don't feel as if I should have paid this amount, but I did. 2. My good friend (also a view resident) had her car was towed out of her own parking spot! After a new neighbor had complained to management that she was parked in their parking spot, her car was towed with NO NOTICE and NO WARNING. Alas, the neighbor was mistaken as this had been the same spot she had been parking in for months. Does management not keep records of this?? Perhaps they were too lazy to check their records?? This was the last straw this this place, but the number of issues with them continues! She didn't have to pay the towing costs but the sheer fact of the inconvenience that was caused was enough! 3. SIX MONTHS after ending our lease agreement with The View, I received a random phone call from them. Thinking it was a mistake, I let them leave a voice mail to hear them state that "they had been trying to reach me for months (FIRST CONTACT WITH THEM, KEEP THIS IN MIND) and that if I did not contact them within 24 hours that I would be sent to collections." Before move out, my name was taken off of the lease completely and put under my roommate's. SO, the fact they even called ME to begin with and threaten to send ME to collections is completely unacceptable. MY NAME WAS NOT ON THE LEASE! They should not have been contacting me whatsoever! When I called back they claimed that there were "several thousands of dollars" in damages to the apartment as well as unpaid bills. Completely FALSE. I had asked for a walk-through with management and to be present upon this walk-through (signed document) so we could go over damage costs together. That never happened. After yelling bloody jesus, they said that they "accidentally" had the wrong file pulled up. AGAIN, how do mistakes like this continue to happen?? Long story short, after MUCH DEBATE, they finally agreed to only charge for a carpet cleaning.. I'm sorry, but why was I (or roommate) not contacted THE MONTH OF our move out?? SIX MONTHS LATER?! They had both of our numbers and names on file but somehow "couldn't find" my roommates. Again, unacceptable.. Long read, but I hope it will help you from moving there. DO NOT get suckered into moving here as it will cause you an entire year of financial nightmares due to the management's poor record keeping. And when you move out, do not be surprised if they keep hitting you up for cash for illegitimate reasons!! Just don't do it. Beautiful apartments, caring staff, and excellent management!! This is my first time in apartment living and I have yet to be disappointed. I have lived here going on a year and just renewed my lease for another twelve months. Being a student at the University of Nevada, Reno I have had multiple roommates moving in and out of my apartment and the staff was nothing but accommodating. Another member of my family also resides in The View Apartments and loves it, truly great place for families and student living. Amazing place to live, I highly recommend it! read more

My husband and I have lived at the View for several years and like it very much. We checked out many places before deciding on The View and found that they are very reasonable in the rent prices. The apartment is very spacious for a one bedroom and has plenty of storage. You don't hear your neighbors much at all. The patio is a nice size for a table and chair set and even an electric BBQ. We like to BBQ and it is great to be able to. The staff has always been pleasant and friendly. We are conveniently located close to the freeway which makes it very easy to get to work and shopping. read more

I was lured here two years ago by a bait-and-switch ad on Craigslist. My initial rent for a 1-bedroom apt was $715. Although rental rates have remained flat in Reno, they now want me to sign a new lease for$825. That doesn't count the charge for water, sewer, and garbage, which runs more than $40 per month. They gave me barely 30 days notice on the increase, which takes effect in the middle of this month. Stay away from RPM Company!! read more

I am a military contractor and move frequently. I could not be more pleased with the time I have been at the view. This is a well-managed complex. The apartments are modern, clean and low priced in my view for what you get. The view is fantastic and I have found it be very pet friendly but with no out of control dogs off leashes. I highly recommend these apartment homes. read more

I have lived here for 4 1/2 years. I started in a 2 bdrm for 3 years and then as my needs changed I went to a 1 bdrm. I found that the smaller apartment suited my needs better and is quite spacious. I have lived here through ownership, staff and management changes and being a business man myself, I recognize the professionalism of the new ownership and management company. I find the service people to be knowledgeable and willing to make repairs as needed. I find the manager and his staff to be more than competent and caring as I discuss concerns with them. I feel that they treat their tenants more like family members and care about them. The other tenants are very friendly and are willing assist if need be. We're like a small close knit community is a big city always concerned for each others well being. I have lived in Reno for over 35 years and in many apartment complexes. I find that The View is by far the best. Great amenities, beautiful well kept grounds, freeway access that allows me to get to any part of town easily. I don't plan to move any time soon. So if you want a fantastic place to live come join our family at The View. read more
