I have two accounts, so it wasn't a big deal I just transferred money around via the app. I was going on vacation; I stopped in at the Newton branch and Ryan Wong greeted me, he was very polite, cheerful and eager to help. Not only did he put the vacation dates on my card he figured out what was wrong with my primary checking account and printed me a new card I tried it at the ATM and WA LA success :) Not only did Ryan help with my vacation request and fix my card he followed up via email with instructions on how I can sent vacation request through the app. Ryan went above and beyond; I want to make sure he gets the recognition he deserves. I typically don't write negative reviews but I also had a less than pleasant experience with the same woman a year or so prior. What put me over the edge: On Friday, I found that my redecoration of my apartment had put me near my daily transaction limit. Fine, no problem, I understand those are in place in case your card is stolen, so I called in to raise it so I could make a plane ticket purchase. I had to call 6 times before someone picked up. He told me he'd have to check with the manager. After a hold for 7 min hold he came back and said that it would be lifted, for just the amount of the plane tickets, for 30 min. Excuse me? It's my account and also my money and my limit. In addition, I tried several times, and the manager had actually never executed the raise. (This is not the first time she has failed to help in a situation of mine.) Naturally, I inquired if I now couldn't use my card for a certain time. I was told that it would be 24 hrs until my card worked again. But being that they are closed on weekends, that meant Monday. So, cut off completely from my account for the entire weekend. I inquired if I could use ATM , and he said yes, I could use ATM. I went downstairs and the ATM rejected my card. I called back and was told it had to be a village bank ATM. Which of course is not convenient when I'm traveling for work. So, here I am, unable to use my credit card or an ATM at all. Oh, and they have started canceling all the orders I made on Friday, though they were below my limit. So, please, save yourself the trouble, go get a DCU account.

She told me that only the branch manager could do that and he wasn't there. I asked when he would be in and she said "maybe tomorrow but he's been calling in sick a lot lately She then said that since it was a closed account they have to issue a check in it could take up to 15 business days. Absolutely the worst customer service I could ever experience. They are basically holding my $2200 ransom and everyone seems to point the finger at someone else. They used to be such a good bank, not anymore. WORST BANK EVER. STAY AWAY FROM CITIZENS BANK!!!!!!

With that said, here's my story: Summer 05: I walk into this place because they have never acknowledge that I have paid, there is no way to check my account online, and there is no other way to find out how much left I have to pay. I say, "No, I want information on my car loan. Do you offer anything online to look this up?" He says "Umm, how much money do you want to put into your checking account?" I go in, ask the same question, and a nice lady says that she doesn't know, but she refers me to customer service. While frustrated, I appreciate the sitcom like story-line developing, and leave empty handed again. Today: Surely they have updated their systems, surely there is a way to get information without making a 30 minute trip to this horrible bank.
