The Thanksgiving dinner was not giving anything but for my family to make our own Thanksgiving Dinner. I feel ripped off and highly disappointed. I was expecting more from Edwin's since it's known to be a gourmet restaurant. To my surprise the Thanksgiving meal was not. Everything was boxed or out of a can! The so called dessert was little small bits of pumpkin pie. The green beans were horrible, now how is that even possible? A scoop of mash potatoes which was not enough for ONE person and the sweet potatoes taste like it came from a can. Overall it just was not worth $49 each for a family of 4, I feel like I deserve a refund. read more

On Thursday of last week I picked up an order for 8 pounds of spare ribs and paid $75.00. The ribs were for a family dinner I was cooking for my family in honor of my Mother who was just diagnosed with metastatic lung cancer. While preparing the ribs I saw that three of them were just bone and fat, little or no meat. I was very upset because not only was I told that each rib had a pound of meat, but now I wouldn't have enough ribs for dinner. I reached out to Edwin's and spoke with the manager. He gave me a really hard time and had no compassion for my situation. He did not understand my frustration and kept defending his product. I ended up in tears and hung up on him because at this point I was too upset to even talk. I am so disappointed in this place. I really cannot fathom how any business owner or manager would lack understanding or compassion for a customer who was genuinely upset and was seeking help. Not only will I never go back to Edwin's, I will not hesitate to share this experience. Shameful. read more

BEST Reuben I've had in Cleveland so far! We had such a great experience at Edwin's. Everyone was so kind and knowledgeable and the our lunch was delicious! I can't wait to come back. My only complaint would be that it was difficult to figure out where to park, but that definitely is not a deterrent for us. read more

EDWINS has opened a new location- a butcher shop and deli- just down the street from the original EDWINS restaurant. If you don't know the story about EDWINS, this is an awesome program that trains people who were previously incarcerated in restaurant skills (cooking, hosting, and serving). Now, they've opened an additional program at the butcher shop where students can learn butchery. I am so excited that this location has finally opened and is serving up some great deli food and meats. I tried the pulled pork sandwich and Mac and cheese. They were excellent and prices were great! The sides are all only $2 and are good sized portions. In addition to the deli, they also have a full butcher shop. We purchased house made bacon and some shank bones for our dog. I'm not sure who was happier, us or the dog?! It'll be back to make some more butcher shop purchases and for a bite to eat at lunch. They're open, so give this place a shot! read more

A great business from a phenomenal institution. Edwin's Restaurant just opened this butcher shop a few blocks away to provide meat for their restaurant and to expand their curriculum for their students. They also sell to the public and provide a full deli menu of sandwiches, meals, and sides. I have been twice now, once to eat and once to get meat to go. Both times I had a great experience. The staff is very kind and they are knowledgable about their offerings. Their prices are also very low for what you get. I had a reuben and sandwich with baked beans. The sandwich had a generous helping of corned beef. The beans were a little unusual. I was expecting more of a Boston Baked Bean with a sweet molasses sauce, but they were served in a spicy BBQ sauce. Not what I was expecting, but very tasty! I went back a second time recently and grabbed some meat for the week. I bought a juicy rotisserie chicken, some meaty house-made bacon, and pork chops. Again, the prices are fantastic and the staff is helpful. I look forward to becoming a regular at this shop! read more

This was my third time here. First of all, every time I have been there, I have been greeted by every employee with sincere kindness which is rare these days in customer service. They go out of their way to make sure they fulfill my request. Everything is fresh and cut off the bone per order. This particular trip, I ordered 5 filet mignon. Wow! I just love Edwin's Butcher Shop. I've lunched there several times with friends and family. Absolutely delicious sandwiches and wonderfully seasoned fries. In a panic, I called in for a boxed dinner because we had a concert to get to with guests and no dinner plan. Edwin's Butcher Shop took my sketchy instructions and created a marvelous picnic. I went in for the first time today. Bought a variety of baked goods and 4 large ribeye steaks. The baked goods were spot on excellent and the steaks fantastic. We have been living in Shaker for 12 years, and these were the best we have had and they were also very reasonably priced -- 4 large one-inch thick steaks for $37. I've been here a couple times so far. First time, I purchased a slab of pork belly, which they cut to the weight that I requested. Also got a pretty good corned beef sandwich. The second time, I had a fantastic Italian sausage with peppers and onions on a bun with mustard (I got the "hot" sausage which wasn't super spicy, just pleasantly so) with a side of mac and cheese. I don't often write reviews, but the sausage was that good. Sausage sandwich plus side of mac and cheese was only $6.50. Place looks great inside. I went here for the first time a few weeks ago and ordered a hamburger (asked for no pink in the middle) when I got home is was a little pink. However, the meat was soooooooo delicious I still ate it which is not something I would do!! Lol excellent quality meat will realllllly good flavor. I greatly appreciate the work and mission of Edwin's and I sincerely hope they do nothing but succeed in their endeavors. My experience wasn't a positive one but I may go back some day hoping for a better one! Arriving shortly after noon, a total of three people were behind the counter and were doing an excellent job of pretending we weren't there. After a couple of minutes, some internal switched was flipped and the two remaining people instantly engaged and greeted us and were super friendly. The food was brought to our table after what seemed like a long time for not being busy. When ordering, the staff described what was on the Italian sandwich: tomatoes, lettuce, et al were listed off but they left out that there was mayonnaise on it which meant after three bites, it went in the trash. The chicken salad was pretty good but in the half that I ate, I had to spit out a small bone and also some kind of joint/cartilage. We both ordered the cornbread as a side. I really wish I tried something else. They were about the size of the top of a regular muffin, wrapped in plastic wrap with no flatware or butter provided or offered. They were inedible. I took one, single bite and threw out the rest. They were dense, dry, and rather cold for some reason and they had a chalky texture, devoid of flavor. Poorly made Jiffy is miles better than this. Once again, I appreciate their mission and I know they do better than what I personally experienced! read more

What started out as a promising Enterprise has slowly denegrated into a poorly executed throwback to a time when butcher shops were prevalent. Edwin's used to have a classiness to it, but now it has a front window covered by a plethora of paper signs advertising sandwiches and other specials to a point that you can't see in. Also, of late, it seems as if they are never open. The last visit that I made was Saint Patrick's Day 2018 when they advertised corn beef. I ordered two pounds and when I arrived home, the pack consisted of scraps. It was too late to take it back. I just made a mental note to use another local corn beef shop in the future. Edwin's could still be a success, but it seems as if the owners have lost interest. read more

I ordered a corn beef sandwich, chips and a fried pie. The sandwich arrived timely, courtesy of door dash, but was no what I expected. The sandwich came warm with cheese and a special sauce. I have also never received a corn beef sandwich with no pickle. I ordered extra mustard, but I received none. The fried pie had an excellent filling, but the crust tasted very stale. I will try them again, but in person, so that I can see my food being prepared. read more
