Nice , attentive staff. Food came out quick and absolutely delicious. Got the corned beef and some chili cheese fries. The sandwich was great. Solid shaved corned beef, good mustard with Swiss. Asked for the bread to be slightly toasted and it was perfect. The chili cheese fries though? Holy s###. This is no canned slop chili. This is put in a bowl and eat with a spoon corn bread. Big chunks of burger with beans and tomatoes on a bed of perfect crispy fries from the air fryer. Amazing. If I come back to Cleveland I will definitely be having lunch here again. Well, I waited forever to try this hyped up deli but ended up a bit disappointed. Let me explain. West 3rd Deli is VERY convenient if you've been summoned for jury duty in Cuyahoga County in Ohio. It's right across the street from the courthouse. With only 30 minutes to stuff my face with food during a lunch break from jury duty in August 2026, I ran over here to grab something hopefully cheap, fast, filling, and tasty. This deli was fast, I'll give them that. The place is small, busy, and packed with product boxes. Prices are a little high tbh. The line went by somewhat fast and I witnessed some tasty sandwiches being made, especially the hot Italian sub. If I wasn't so cheap, I should have gotten the Italian sub. However, I got a gyro as it was one of the cheapest sandwiches on the menu ($8). Gyro meat was pre-sliced meat patties so that was a bit disappointing. Flatbread tasted the same as the ones used at Subway. Veggies were fresh though. Then, my potato-loving self got an order of fries to go ($5). These were not great nor did they have any seasonings of any kind. I had to grab a few salt packets. I would have also liked to see cups for water out as well as sauce packets and napkins. I had to ask for ketchup to go and was grumpy that there wasn't mustard available as well. Anyway, my total was $13 and, if you were wondering, I was able to eat half the gyro and a third of the fries before I needed to go back into the courtroom. The leftover gyro tasted fine a few hours later but the fries needed more than just some time in my air fryer, if you see what I'm saying. All in all, not a bad choice when in the area, but be ready to pay a premium price if you want a decent sandwich on the good bread. And skip the fries. read more

Lunch at this place was a real treat! We stumbled on to the restaurant on Yelp while we were looking for sandwiches in the area near the Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame. We found this deli and it had a parking place or two out front so we grabbed one across from the Justice Center. There were lots of lawyers and regulars in here so that told me it was going to be good. It was. In fact, it was excellent! My wife had the chicken bacon ranch sandwich and it was to her satisfaction. She remarked about how good it was. I had to Italian sandwich and it was fantastic! I would not change a thing. I checked in on yelp and received complementary bag of chips and a drink with my purchase of a medium sub. So thank you to the Yelp people here in Cleveland for setting that up. Walked in to a very unassuming deli and placed our order. Everything was made right there and was very quick. My husband got the Chipotle Chicken and I got the Chicken Bacon Ranch sandwich. Both were delicious and really enjoyed our lunch. There was a steady flow of local people there ordering and going back to work, which solidified the quality of food. Visited West 3rd Deli again with my coworkers recently. When I checked in, I received a pop-up window with a coupon for a free side and drink. So I shared it with my co-workers so they could get in on the deal too. I requested a hot Italian sandwich along with chips and a drink. My coworker requested some cheesy fries with bacon. Our food was made immediately to order and was served hot. The fries were overcooked, but they had a decent flavor still. The Italian sub was excellent. My mood led to try the chicken parm sub. I added jalapeño and they use a rolling oven to heat the sub. The oven melted the cheese perfectly. The sun was hot and cold tasty. They have several tables for eating there, but most people were grabbing takeout. Staff was attentive and they even brought the sun to my table. Nice. Solid option for a downtown meal. I stopped on my way back and got the breakfast sandwich. I chose the bacon, egg, and cheese one. I requested wheat bread instead of the bagel, English muffins, or croissant. He said they only have wheat roll and I got that. He made the egg fresh, added cooked bacon and cheese and put it through a revolving toaster. It was delicious. I could only eat half of it and took the other half to go. Sandwich was tasty! The guy running the place was nice. The only thing I will ding the place on is the parking situation. There was no available parking on the street - meaning every available spot was already occupied. I had driven over from my hotel and being from out-of-town had no idea I would not be able to find a place to park. So I ended up paying to park in a pay lot next to the building the Deli is located within. Very good little deli. I had a steak sub and some soup. There was a line to order/ make the sandwich but it moved quickly.

Lived right down the street from here for a bit now and finally decided to give it a go. Very unsuspecting looking sandwich shop from the exterior with big flavor. Due to location the place was pretty busy when I stopped in for lunch and filled with friendly police force enjoying sandwiches. On this visit I had the reuben which was piled fairly high and toasted to perfection. I enjoyed the composition of the sandwich as they included the kraut in the middle of the meat rather than top or bottom to provide a much cleaner and even eat. I look forward to coming back and trying many more sandwiches in the future. read more

I'm gonna give this place 4 stars based upon it just an ordinary sandwich to me . I had the Italian the meat was good definitely better then Subway. I bought a Vitamin water it was only 2.19 . I mention this because many of the places Downtown exploit the Downtown folks charging 3 dollars for most bottled drinks. Thanks third street Deli also for the free chips and drink for Yelp check in. The inside was nice and orderly, and the staff is very nice. I'm on jury duty and this is convenient to just walk across from the Justice center. The bread on the sandwich I must say was very good. Listen, I'm mad. Not at West 3rd Deli, but at myself. I've lived RIGHT AROUND THE CORNER from this place for over a YEAR AND A HALF. I stopped by on a lunch hour juuuuust on a whim because I was sick of my weekly usual chain store sub that rhymes with Timmy Don's. There was quite a line and there's a ton of menu items to choose from, so I let a couple people in front of me. I settled on the Pick 2 for $7.49 deal and was surprised how quickly the line moved. Got a ham sub and chicken Caesar salad. Mind you - that deal is cheaper than Panera or anything else I've seen. I got extra mayo on my sub and FINALLY I found someone who understands me and my unhealthy love for mayo because that lady loaded me up. Everyone was super friendly, so far so good. Took my meal home and dumped my salad onto a plate. This SMALL size salad covered an entire dinner plate AND had a healthy portion of chicken on it to boot. I probably could've made two meals out of this Pick 2 but I have no self control and ate the whole thing. It was divine. Aaaaand then I went back two days later with my boyfriend who got the Chicken Bacon Ranch while I Pick 2'ed again with a BLT and Black and Bleu steak salad. The ladies working were so, so nice and patient (and even funny!) with my million-question/substitution-having boyfriend, they're better people than me. He didn't seem as excited as I was until he took a few bites of his sub and became equally overwhelmed with tastebud happiness and self-disappointment for not trying this place out sooner. Again, I devoured the whole Pick 2 so if I don't fit into my bridesmaid dress next month I only have myself and West 3rd Deli to blame. ALSO, I didn't know they're open until 6! I assumed it was only 3, since it's a downtown lunch spot. I have a bad feeling I'll be stopping here to pick up dinner on my walk home from work when I'm too lazy to cook.
