We stopped for lunch here on our way home from a beach getaway weekend. The prices were very reasonable, and the food was ready quickly despite the line. There is a lot of seating available outside on picnic tables with umbrellas for shade (there are also tables inside). I got the vegetarian wrap, but in order to make the vegan I did ask for it without the pesto cream cheese, which meant it was rather bland. Unfortunately, the only other potentially vegan option was their beyond burger. However, they didn't carry any vegan cheese or vegan sauces (aside from ketchup), which was disappointing. In the future I think I would get the beyond burger anyway, as it would at the very least have some protein. Everyone else in my party seemed quite happy with their meals, so likely their non-vegan food is great. Their coffee was also pretty good (and they had oat milk & almond milk available as cows milk alternatives). I will say, the marinated cucumbers were fantastic, and again, the prices were great. Just wish that they had at least one menu item which was fully vegan without modifications. Maybe a hummus wrap? read more

This is a very convenient spot to grab breakfast. It opens at 7, which is great, and has both a smoothie bar and coffee bar, in addition to breakfast options (breakfast ends at 10:30). Neat little place! Kind of a deli, kind of a market, kind of a coffee shop, kind of a bakery, kind of a store! We stopped in on Saturday for something to satisfy a sweets craving! I got the white chocolate strawberry upon recommendation from the lady working and it was great! Sizable piece. They have some cool little artisan gifts like candles, decorative towels, art, and charcuterie boards. You'll also notice a beer cooler with a decent selection. We ended up coming back the next morning for breakfast on our way out, and it was hoppin! They have quite a few tables outside as well. The food came out quickly. I got the sausage egg and cheese croissant. The croissant was soft and warm! I appreciated that they put 2 sausage patties but it was a little meh and discolored. Sausage can be kinda hit or miss, I think the bacon's probably great on it. The hashbrown casserole was good on the side too! The menu is really vast, and the people at the table next to us got breakfast platters and waffles that looked great! I loved the iced butter pecan latte! It's okay. No choice of pastrami on their Ruben so I ordered chicken salad bc you can't go wrong on chicken salad in NC, right? Wrong. Had a sweet taste, maybe a couple of nuts and raisins. Very dry and served on a croissant. Must be owned by someone from NY, NJ, OH, PN (insert northeast or rust belt state here). It was not classic southern chicken salad. Also had a side of potato salad. Good flavor but the potatoes were not boiled long enough. Very hard cubes. $11.99 is a bit much for that combo. I paid the same for the exact same lunch at Charlotte Airport. Too many things going on at this place. It needs to decide what it wants to be. They have jams and pickles and sauces. They have homemade ice cream. They have their own coffee beans in bags. They have gifts ranging from artist prints to beach junk. I have considerable experience in retail food ops. I would get rid of the junk and expand the dining area. I would also shrink the menu and do 15 things well rather than 30 things mediocre. Finally, all their meat is Boars Head. That used to be something people wanted. Not so much now. Too many Boars Head facilities making the news for being unsanitary. read more

I didn't get any pictures but it was late night and we were hungry this morning! LOL We all had various breakfast plates. The eggs, bacon, and toast were very good but the hashbrown casserole was my favorite! The most exceptional thing about our visit was the staff. They were all friendly and knowledgeable...it was very encouraging to see such competent and obviously loyal employees during this staffing shortage. Thought this was a great little place until I realized how terrible they treat their employees. I remember recently Gaffers closed so their employees could have a break as they were exhausted and overworked. Meanwhile, employees at this establishment who were hired part-time are working seven 10 hour days in a row, sometimes 11 hour days, with no lunch break or any break at all. Employees are expected to work every weekend. Is it any wonder there's a high turnover rate and people are leaving without notice? Do better. I will be spending my money elsewhere, which is really sad because this is an easy fix, just treat your employees well!!. Grabbed a quick breakfast before work on my last day on the island. The iced coffee needed half the sweetener but for only $2 ( if memory serves), it wasn't worth doing anything about. I just drank it down a bit and added more coffee to it later. The bagel... oh my. I loved it. Crisp cucumbers, plenty of bacon, creamy cream cheese, and a perfect everything bagel. The Village Market. This was a unique place. We were greeted by a cool employee the moment we walked in the door. The Village Market reminds you of a cross between Cracker Barrel and Jason's Deli. Not to mention they have a pretty cool selection of wines on the back wall. The first thing I noticed was the cookies and selection of desserts. They also snack items. The layout was different from what I expected. The dining area has limited seating but they have a nice area for outdoor seating. Cool place! This is my first time in the area and we were recommended to try this place for breakfast. Since this restaurant has brunch hours we thought breakfast was served until 2 pm. When we arrived a little after 11am we was greeted with a kind "We stopped serving breakfast already and but you can order anything from our lunch menu." I was crushed because I was looking forward to trying out their veggie omelet! But it's okay because their veggie wrap and the chicken salad croissant salad was great. This place is great! We rode our bikes to get "the best breakfast in town" and while we don't have anything to compare it to yet, it was pretty darn good! The shop highlights handmade and artisan goods as well as tasty take home treats. We sat at the cute outdoor space to have our breakfast sandwiches. The staff was friendly and helpful! Breakfast was good; cheese and a generous amount of eggs. I got some chicken salad to take home for lunch; it is DELICIOUS!!! We came on a Friday morning and since we were only the 4th customer of the day, there were plenty of seating. We choose a nice and cozy spot by a corner with some decorative light bulbs that restaurants sometimes put outside. They really added to the cozy ambiance of the place. I ordered a simple breakfast. It came with toast, potato hash, bacon and 1 egg. I also got the drip coffee to start the morning right. Everything was delicious, I really liked the potato hash and the bacon was nice and crispy. We stopped here for lunch on a Monday on the way to Indian Beach based on their great reviews. We just barely beat the rush, but this place does get pretty busy during lunch time. I love that they have some cute little decor items for sale and some of their dips and salads available to take with you as well. The order process is super simple and they have a great variety of options. Their desserts looked amazing, but unfortunately I didn't try any. I ordered the veggie wrap, and my boyfriend ordered the club sandwich. We both really enjoyed the sandwiches, although the potato salad was underwhelming and didn't have much seasoning. The pickles were huge and on point! All staff were wearing masks, although the tables are pretty close together if that makes you uncomfortable. The breakfast was good. My wife and I got omelets and they were good, but definitely splurge for the hash brown casserole as the side. The grits were not that good in my opinion. The kids had pancakes which tasted okay but were very dense. They weren't nice and fluffy and were tough to cut. We ended up just tearing them apart to eat. Varied menu that runs the gambit between sandwiches to burgers, from salads to wraps everything is made fresh on site! My burger came out and was hot with a side of chips on a kaiser roll.
