Husband had the sausage, egg, cheese on a cinnamon raisin bagel and enjoyed it! Strawberry and honey nut cream cheeses were also delicious! I feel cheated. I had been looking forward to the cinnamon cream cheese for months. My wife ordered the bagels and went to pick them up and asked about the cinnamon cream cheese. She was told it was seasonal. A month later I'm still scratching my head about seasonality of this cinnamon cream cheese. The stuff is so good I feel like it is similar to drugs for a drug addict. Hidden gem in the very back of the shopping center which may make it quite difficult to find for first timers, but just follow the signs! Freshly baked with great chewy texture that I love. Disappointed! I was looking forward to good "Brooklyn" bagels and picked up a dozen with a tub of cream cheese to go. Coming from New York via Charlotte we had many bagel shops that made really good bagels- soft inside, crunchy outside, delicious toasted or not. These wereg a bit expensive, but worth it if they were anything resembling those bagels. Unfortunately, Giovanni's were under cooked, even a little raw inside, and wet with what i guess is some sort of oil. This was all of them! I'm always on the hunt for a good local bagel wherever I am, and Giovanni's did not disappoint. Hidden away in the strip mall behind a food lion, was the best bagel I've ever had. The service was great, and the cashier was the sweetest girl. I definitely felt like I was in Brooklyn when I walked in, quick and easy, and it felt like. I was in a large NY deli! The bagel was huge compared to grocery store or chain bagel stores. The bagel itself was the perfect kind of soft and chewy, but not too soft and chewy. Each ingredient on the bagel was cooked to perfection and you could taste them all individually. The bacon jalapeño cream cheese was superb. It wasn't spicy at all, but still had the nice warmth of a pepper with a little smokey bacon. Overall, they had a great selection of bagels, pastries, and cooler drinks (sodas, juice, etc), and great coffee (iced or hot), and the bagels were nothing short of excellent and filling. Made a stop here on the way to the aquarium. Ordered ahead food to go through their website/Clover: stuffed bagel with egg and cheese, egg and cheese, bagel sandwich, everything pretzel and scallion cream cheese. For ASAP orders it's says 30 minutes, but the order was ready on a cart in less than 30 minutes when I arrived shortly after 8am on a Saturday. The pretzel wasn't included, it was just crossed out on the receipt with no comments. So had to wait in line to ask the staff what was going on with my order. Luckily, there were only two people in line, but the line quickly grew longer after me. So turned out they didn't have any pretzels for whatever reason that day, but she gave me two bagels to comp for the pretzel since I already paid online. The cost wasn't quite equal, but was pretty close. It would have been nice if they had thrown in an extra something else to make up for the inconvenience. The food was still hot, wrapped in foil. The "stuffed" pretzel was basically a bagel flattened in the middle and topped with the "filling". It was alright, not as great as I thought it would have tasted. The egg and cheese bagel sandwich was also okay. The bagels themselves were very soft, but didn't have as much flavor as I wanted. The egg and cheese bagel sandwich was still very soft after eating the leftovers two days later. The everything bagel seasoning was a little too salty for my taste. The scallion cream cheese was okay. Would've preferred more scallions. No bathrooms. The closest bathroom is in Food Lion in the same plaza. It's within a shopping plaza so not visible when you park in the parking lot. The closest store to park at is at Top it off boutique. Eventually, when you walk pass the stores, you enter through these sliding glass doors down a hallway. No seating tables inside the actual bagel place, but there are some tables outside of the bagel place within the building and two tables on a patio overlooking the water and apartments. Everyone raves about these New York bagels. This is the place to go if you're craving a bagel while on Emerald Isle. It's located in a strip mall, but it's behind a few shops. You won't see its facade from the main road. There is a mini mall map if you get lost, but there are a few signs that lead you there. I enjoyed my poppy seed bagel. My friend loved her bacon, egg and cheese. Every time she visits her parents, she orders that. I especially love the garlic cream cheese spread they have here, it's really delicious. It's definitely more of a take out spot. You can order coffee and any kind of bagel imaginable here. They have a lot of different spreads to pick from. The people who work here are very kind. We found this spot last year. It was hidden in the inside of the mall and there is no access from the back of the mall. They make coffee and have can drinks including sunny d, apple juice, tea. The bagels were soft. We both had everything bagels. Definitely worth visiting while we are on vacation. There is seating on the deck and hallway outside the restaurant. We went to the Morehead City location. When you walk in your greeted by friendly people and the bagels were great. Just for take out no seating, but they offer the place next door outdoor table. First visit today. Full disclosure.....my wife is a former New Yorker and a self-described "Bagel Snob"! We now live in the Nashville area and authentic, NY bagels are impossible to find. So, first visit today, picked up 9 bagels for my wife, 6 of one kind and 3 of another. She tried one today and said they were GREAT! She is the expert. I met the owner when I ordered. Great guy. Very friendly. The girl at the counter was very nice and quick with getting my bagels. I also ordered a bacon, egg, and cheese breakfast bagel for myself. That came out in just a couple of minutes and was delicious! there was steady stream of customers coming in and many eating their bagels and having coffee, etc at the tables right next to the shop. nobody had much of a wait. Synopsis: The place to go for breakfast or bagels on Emerald Isle with service and quality unmatched. Girlfriend and I were vacationing on Emerald Isle for her birthday and were looking through the eateries for some good breakfast food. We were guided toward Giovanni's and were immediately interested hearing about New Yorkers down in NC and making good bagels. We were certainly not disappointed neither time we went in. There is plenty to look through and order from ranging from bagels of all sorts, to egg sandwiches with the works, and baked goods made fresh each morning. We ordered different style egg sandwiches both times we were there during our mini-vacation and they both were superb. My personal favorite is that Monster which was absolutely delicious. On our way back home we put in an order for a couple dozen bagels to be able to remind us of home and although there was a slight problem getting them all, Giovanni personally texted and called my girlfriend to get things squared away and sorted. That kind of service and dedication to your store is rare to say the least and we were beyond appreciative of his kindness. This place was absolutely delicious!! We went to the location in Morehead City, but I didn't see a Yelp page for them. It's located by Hobby Lobby, and there isn't any seating or anything inside. Grab and go! And oh my goodness I'm so glad we did! My husband got the Monster Bagel Sandwich and it was fantastic. First, the bagels: they were OK. The flavor is good, but every type we ordered was underbaked. As a result, the color was off and the texture was wrong because the outside was too soft. Bagels should not be this blonde. Certainly not NYC quality (or size) but a step up from the grocery store. Second: the service/shop: many employees and customers were not wearing a mask, including the woman who was boiling the bagels and the teenage boy who rang up our order. That speaks for itself. It was pretty busy (Saturday morning) but the wait was excessive considering we didn't even get sandwiches. No defined line and the staff seemed disorganized behind the counter. I also found it strange that they prepared everything in the back out of sight, even if you're just getting a bagel with a spread (not toasted). Overall: poor experience, OK bagels. The closest I've tried so far to NYC quality in this area but unfortunately there's no comparison when it comes to speed and service. read more

So happy to find this place! Despite driving through Emerald Isle for years on the way to Salter Path, I had never seen this little gem. It is tucked away on the back side of Emerald Plantation, and by the looks of the line at the door....we are the only ones who haven't heard of it. There are two parts to this review - service and the bagels. We were charged 37 dollars for 18 bagels and a tub of cream cheese. We double checked if that was correct because it seemed high - but the cashier confirmed it was about 2 dollars a bagel. We were not given a receipt, which was a little strange. BUT I saw other reviews that people were charged different amounts for bagels, so that might explain it? When we got home, the bagels appeared raw and they were either soaked in oil, grease or butter. I've never ordered bagels and had them soaked in oil by the time we drove 5 minutes home. Even from cutting the bagels, our hands were completely covered in oil. Highly disappointed in the bagels considering the price... should have bought them from the grocery store or brought some with us! Other reviews suggested a line forms early in the day so we got there right at 7:30am when they opened. However, once we arrived, we quickly saw that this was due to not that many bagels prepared when they opened, not an overwhelming amount of people. Now, don't get me wrong, there were a handful of people when we arrived. But everything seemed to take forever - the cream cheese was scooped as you ordered, the bagels were rushed into bags (which could explain why they were raw), and it took forever to be rung up. They also don't have a system for ordering online, you are forced to go into the store or just call and place an order. read more

That's a damn good bagel out on the beach. It's the soft squishy kind that's pliable and chewy, but not airy or overstructured. This means that when you bite into a still-warm bagel stuffed with soft cream cheese, it doesn't all plop out on either side of your face and into your lap. Which is good, considering this is the only place south of Brooklyn that knows how much cream cheese belongs on a bagel. Very nice people as well, they're taking good care of PPE and distancing. My preference is for a greater attention to coffee and the dairy/non-dairy accoutrements, but the coffee is good nonetheless. We enjoyed our bagels so much that we brought some back for tomorrow's breakfast. read more

Good bagels I cannot deny that. Overall has gone downhill a bit the past year. Almost always get my order wrong. Don't put the cream cheese on bagel anymore which seems weird to me. Awkward small space where you have to wait for your bagels but also wait in line so everyone's just standing awkwardly in each others way. I wrote the review the day I visited you. As a business owner you have the right to refuse service to people not wearing a mask. A lot of businesses are. I stand by my review. the place was full of people not wearing mask or social distancing. Your employee had NO mask or even a face shield. There is a pandemic and it's getting worse. Majority of businesses are following the cdc guidelines and we had no issues. Saying a person shouldn't visit a vacation spot if they felt uncomfortable is pathetic.
