Contigo is a family-owned working ranch about 10 minutes away from the mountains (hills) of Enchanted Rock. I have no idea how many acres it consists of...but this place is huge. It is surrounded by different styled cabins, some as traditional looking as ours, where you feel completely lost in time...and some are crafted to have a more modern exterior. Either way, this place makes you feel like you're actually escaping from the hustle and bustle of city life. No cell service as well which some can find irritating but honestly we need a little silence every now and then. The wifi does work for the most part though! Our little weekend home came with a living room area, kitchenette, master bedroom suite and large bathroom with bathtub and shower. While the exterior truly felt like a scene from Little House on the Prairie, the interior came with modern finishes with a perfect touch. Fireplace, but also central heating and cooling. Windows in every corner, but also ceiling fans. You get where I'm going here. The center of the ranch holds a gorgeous event hall perfect for a wedding weekend or party. Depending on what you're looking for, you can choose from the different types of cabins on site to stay. We loved it. I will say, it is on the pricier end (our cabin ran about $350 a night). But you're paying for the convenience and beauty of the ranch. Take a morning stroll for a chance to hang with the cattle or enjoy the complimentary morning breakfast left on your front porch. Either way, you'll enjoy your time.

Husband and I booked our 3 night trip for September 2026 back in March 2026 through Hotels.com…read more(Expedia), paid in full. A week before our trip, a lady named Tawni, who deals with the Ranch's financials, told me in writing and over the phone that I was required to provide my personal card information for the sole purpose of "incidentals." Was totally fine with this and understandable. However, when waking up on the first morning of our stay, I got a notice from my bank that my account was overdrawn. I was shocked because I had over $500 in my account the night prior which I had saved for vacation activities, gas, etc. keep in mind, I'm only 27 years old so $500 set aside is a lot to have in this economy for my age. Contigo had used my personal card to DOUBLE CHARGE me for my entire 3 night stay all over again. Not only was I lied to about the card only being used in the case of incidentals, but they dishonestly charged me an additional $572 instead of debiting hotels.com for the amount I paid in march which is what was supposed to happen. After frantically contacting Tawni again to inquire about what happened, she acknowledged there was a payment error and initiated a refund. The only problem was that bank processing times can take 48-72 hours to post a refund, so I had zero dollars in my bank account until after my stay was over. I was then told through a text that it was ultimately my responsibility to carry additional funds in the case of a merchant "error," and blamed me for their mistake. Would give zero stars if possible. The people who run this place behind the scenes are scammers and shady. Don't let the pretty pictures fool you. And definitely don't give your card information to Tawni.

There were three separate entrances to the other parts of the cottage so other parties wouldn't disturb each other. The cottage had a mini fridge and a small fireplace. The cottage was located conveniently by the main street (two blocks away) so you could easily walk to the main street. It was a lovely cottage and Dennis was very friendly. I would definitely stay here again when I come back to Fredericksburg.

The cabin is well appointed with everything you need and super clean. The daily breakfast is so delicious and the owners are open to dietary modifications if you need them. We stayed in The Roost cabin and ate on the back porch each morning. If you get up early you can have your coffee on the front porch while watching the deer. Or watch them while enjoying a glass of wine at dusk. I'm sure we'll be back as the cabins are close enough to Fredericksburg to see the sights but far enough in the country to give you time to slow down and enjoy the peace and quiet.

Steve and Glenda (the property owners) were AWESOME. So kind and welcoming from the minute we arrived. When we pulled up to our cabin and got out we were greeted by a friendly bunch of chickens, they actually ran up to greet us. :o) The cabin was picturesque... there was a screened in sitting area on the back porch with comfy rocking chairs and additional chairs and a beautiful covered front porch with rocking chairs and a chiminea. When we walked in the cabin looked just as it did in the pictures online. Beautifully decorated and very clean. A king sized bed in the main area with a small kitchen equipped with; microwave, small refrigerator (freezer had 2 ice trays and fridge had 4 waters), plates, wine glasses and opener, cups, coffee mugs, keurig (coffee, tea bags, creamer and sugar), dish washing soap, etc. The bathroom was the perfect size with a walk in shower (it was very clean). The loft upstairs was perfect, again very clean and super cute. It is a small space but perfect for climbing in for a good nights sleep. There was an oscillating fan in the loft which helped with the air circulation. Very cozy! Both beds were very comfortable. There was a flat screen smart TV in the main area, we were able to watch Netflix or regular television. The AC worked great. In the evening we sat on the front porch and had a fire in the chiminea. Steve and Glenda stopped us on our way in on our first night there and asked how we liked our eggs prepared, they also asked if we had any dietary restrictions. They told us that they would deliver our breakfast to our door the next morning between 8:30am-9am. The next morning they were right on time and did not disappoint. A beautiful display (see picture)... fresh eggs, bacon, breakfast potatoes, homemade biscuits, homemade apple butter (to die for), fresh squeezed orange juice. It was a WONDERFUL, down to each little detail. The next morning we had another great breakfast... fresh eggs, sausage links, french toast w/ strawberries and bananas, walnuts and more fresh squeezed orange juice. Glenda also made us a sweet treat (individual chocolate lava cakes) that Steve delivered to us on Saturday afternoon. YUM! We had a memorable weekend in Fredericksburg... a wonderful place to stay, a great wine tour (290 Wine Shuttle), good food and laughs. I will come back and stay at this beautiful place again. My mom eventually went back only to have the A/C go out and had to find other accommodations. So I have never stayed there; but decided to challenge the bad luck by booking the same room. Bad idea; because the instant I stepped in the room I hated it. The windows overlook nothing except the top of a dirty old building. The room instantly fought back as the A/C decided not to work and within 45 minutes of walking in the door it was 96 degrees and climbing. I don't think this room likes the Rooster family. Welcome to a better room; the beautiful Hill Country Lodge! This country themed room is charming and overlooks Main Street Fredericksburg and all its activities. Nice decorations, bed, bath, and a shower head that could take the freckles off your skin. Our only complaint was the tiny television; think 19 inch. So the price was great at $150 with tax; cursed room aside we had a great time. No breakfast as the name denotes; but on to the brew portion. You have the option to go down to the restaurant/brewery (directly below) and have a free beer or you can do what we did. Line up a sample glass of every beer they make! A few spinning in your head stair steps and your back in your room. Get a HD tv and I'll be back with 5 stars in my eyes.
