I'm assuming this place is where you go for drinks and the view, because the food was disappointing. The only good thing was the crawfish dip. The street cauliflower was cold & felt like it had hardly been cooked/roasted and was lacking seasoning. The waterfront salad was $15 with no protein included, and was missing the blueberries & sweet potatoes. The sweet tea was not sweet. The waitress was nice, and I didn't want to complain to her because it was not her fault that the food was underwhelming. We decided to eat at The Waterfront because we have been hearing great things bout the views, and we enjoy all of Panini Pete's other endeavors. We ordered the Southern Street Eggs and the Mahi Bites for our appetizers. The Eggs were a bit different than we thought. You can really taste the pickle. Mahi Bites were good. The Sarah B Burger I ordered medium Rare, and it came out well done. Our server apologized and had them re-fire a new one. It came out perfect. Delicious burger. The food was really good and our waitress was super-however, it is not right for a restaurant to charge customers 3.5% convenience fee to use a credit card--not her fault but the owners. That being said, I can't give The Warerfront 5 stars. I am tired of giving restaurants extra money to pay for food in a near cashless society. My only recourse is to take it from the tip. I usually tip 20% or more---I deduct the convenience fee from that. Sorry but it is a convenience fee. read more

This is a great community location. Not only a restaurant and on the water, it's a place where the community gathers. The food is great! The bar is always friendly and helpful. You can't beat the location. Indoor and outdoor seating with beautiful views of the bay. Large windows allow even the indoor diners to enjoy the view. Wait staff was friendly and attentive. The food was good, but a bit underwhelming for me. It was well prepared, but the sauces on my dishes were earthy with more heat than flavor. Mostly a personal preference as far as the flavor profile. We had the Seafood goblet appetizer which seemed a bit bland for taste as I was hoping for something closer to Mexican shrimp cocktail, just not enough tanginess to compliment the seafood. This lovely restaurant, situated on Mobile Bay in Daphne, just opened at the Lake Forest Yacht Club is a great addition to Eastern Shores dining. "Panini" Pete Blohme and business partner Nick DiMario are the new managers and they have done a great job with the renovationd and rebranding. These guys are not new to a good restaurant, they are partners in PP Hospitality that own and operate Panini Pete's and Sunset Pointe in Fairhope, Ed's Seafood Shed in Spanish Fort and Squid Ink in Mobile, all are which outstanding dining spots. The atmosphere here is fun, comfortable, and welcoming with terrific views practically everywhere you look. While inside dining is available there's lots of covered outdoor seating with relaxing spots with couches inside and out. You'll also notice an open cold bar that can be viewed by customers out front. The sunsets from this spot are spectacular and with a full service bar and places to just chill it makes it a great place to gather with friends for the sunset show. So on to our experience for our first visit June 8, 2023. We arrived around 2:30 and it was not crowded, there was handicap accessible entrance with ample convenient parking. We were warmly greeted and we're seated outside by the water in large comfortable chairs. Our server was Makenzie, who was very friendly, professional, and took great care of us, welcomed us and took our drink and app order. We started with their reasonably priced beer and the "Seafood Goblet which is pickled shrimp, cucumber, tomato, hearts of palm, yellow peppers, and chimichurri topped with crab meat, avocado and fresh lime juice in a big frosty goblet. It's visually stunning and overall the flavors were good but the avocado lacked seasoning but we enjoyed it. My sweetheart ordered The Royal, that's Argentinian shrimp, tossed in a citrusy smoked dressing, served on a grilled roll with fries. She thought it was tasty, enjoyed it, and would definitely order it again. I opted for the Jamaican jerk chicken sandwich served with fries. It's slow roasted chicken thigh, with a papaya BBQ jerk sauce, spicy mayo, shredded lettuce, and tomato. Good to note that Pete has said that their dishes are influenced by other great waterfront restaurants and they do have an eclectic menu like Key West tacos, Argentinian ceviche, lobster roll, and jerk chicken but has been clear that it's "their" take on these dishes. With that said, I thought the jerk chicken was quite tasty, but was not like the jerk chicken I've had in Jamaica. It was tender, well seasoned but not spicy, and other than the bread it was enjoyable. Dessert was a very nice treat, it's not on the menu so I assume it's the item referred to as "Chef's Sweet Treat", was fantastic. It was a light cake covered with caramel, loaded with fresh blueberries and whipped cream. The issues I had were the app and entrees arrived very close together and even though the food came out very quickly it wasn't very hot. The bun for my jerk chicken sandwich was a sad hamburger that was tasteless and fell apart with the tender juicy chicken and dressings. I would like to had it in a hearty brioche bun, if it has to be a bun, or even a hoagie roll would be a big improvement. I also saw no mention of locally sourced seafood, or other items, and I do like locally sourced fresh seafood, but I digress. Bottom line: We really love the venue, the people are outstanding, the food is good, very reasonably priced, and they offer a 10% veteran discount. Highly recommend!! We arrived on Friday evening just at 7:30. I was eager to dine on the deck but due to the wait we opted to eat inside but asked to sit by a window. The window was blocked outside by equipment for busing tables so we still didn't have a view. Bummer. The mahi bites were perfectly cooked and addictive. We also got the charcuterie for sampling most of the other apps from the menu. I'm not a fan of the conecuh but overall the platter was good. Hubs was thrilled to see a version of "Arroz con gandules" on the menu, but ultimately was disappointed. The rice had no flavor, it lacked the base flavors from sofrito and garlic that's typical of the dish. This was just plain instant yellow rice. The shredded chicken was somewhat bland, and the dish just lacked overall. The bbq sauce drizzle was very good though. For my Sburger, I just had to try it. The combination of flavors rocked. The bun wasn't sweet - perfect! The burger really was delish, with just one caveat that the meat was over-cooked. I still ate the whole thing. Fries are the standard frozen variety. We made a point to try all the "different" items featured on the menu, but next time around I'll give the local stand-bys a try. I'm dying to taste test the shrimp poboy! read more

We chose to eat outside and glad we did because the view was amazing! We got our menus one of which was a drink menu that featured several drinks one that included a mojito, which I ordered. When it arrived it came in a pint beer glass with a very thinly sliced, slightly browned lime on the rim, and nothing else. It did not resemble any mojito I had ever had or made. It tasted like a weak rum and 50/50 soda. I asked the waiter if it truly was a mojito since it was not muddled had no mint and only the thin lime slice. He told me it was a mojito but they were out of mint so they were not coming with mint. On a scale of 1 to 10 it was a 1.5. On the other hand, my husband's dirty n up martini was excellent! We started with the poke nachos which were okay. The tortilla chips were very thick and very greasy which took away from the poke toppings. We asked for hot sauce and they only had a choice of Tabasco and Tabasco sriracha sauce. Disappointing since we are so close to so many other choices and styles. I'm glad we chose to split the award winning Sarah B burger and fries. When the food arrived it was just tepid and not hot in any way. The burger came out well done, and we were never asked if there was a temp preference. The taste of the beef was very good, but with all the other toppings and it not being hot it was far too busy and there was too much going on. It didn't meld well. The fries were also not hot and too thin for our personal liking. They needed salt. After we ate about half we realized there was a bunch of large salt crystals underneath them. We think the salt didn't stick because they were too cold to make the salt adhere. Our bill had an admin fee on it yet, we paid cash. We inquired at the desk about this, and it was nothing but a mistake. The manager was very quick and courteous to correct the mistake. Overall I would say it was okay. read more
