I finally discovered that Felix's Fish Camp in Spanish Fort has no connection to Felix's Restaurant & Oyster Bar of New Orleans. I was still expecting some good seafood but that sadly wasn't the case. In the unfortunately all too common experience I have in Alabama their seafood gumbo was actually just Alabama soup that literally had no seafood other than maybe a few crab strands with a VERY watery "roux" that wouldn't be considered a roux in Louisiana. This is the all time most pathetic example of a "gumbo" I've ever been served! My Caesar salad came out with no dressing and I had to wait quite awhile before I could get that taken care of. When my Crab Stack entree finally arrived it at least looked decent but it was quite bland. The price for all this disappointment was quite substantial for such a very unfilling and unsatisfying meal. The building and location are cool which is the only positive I can report. Overall I don't see a reason to eat here again. Places like this REALLY let you know what it is like to miss New Orleans. So far in all of Alabama the only actual good gumbo I've had is at Tamara's Downtown in Fairhope while the rest has been Alabama soup.

When we read other reviews that ahi tuna was on the menu, that sold us on trying Felix's Fish Camp. Our reservation through open door meant we were seated at the window when we arrived. The ahi was great. Our service was great.

The food is very good. Had the red fish daily catch with camp salad (nice and light Italian dressing) and the cream corn succotash- all very good. Don't miss the crab soup. Our server was very efficient and helpful. This place is casual+, not as casual as many of waterside restaurants. It's located minutes from the USS Alabama museum and 1:15 from Pensacola.

Wonderful food! The fried green tomatoes were amazing! Our server, Donnie, was great. Definitely has knowledge of the food and server experience. He even got a picture for us!

My coworker and I were in town for a meeting and had dinner 09APR2026 at Felix's Fish Camp on the recommendation of a coworker. Caleb, our wonderful waiter suggested we get the crab soup, which was thick and delicious. I had the fried shrimp and oysters, house salad, and fried green tomatoes, which was so good. My coworker had the red drum blackened with Caesar salad and Mac and cheese. Since it was my birthday tomorrow, we shared a Key lime pie. We had so much leftover food, but seafood doesn't allows reheat well and we were staying in a hotel. Felix's was awesome and we both said if we are in town again, we will eat here again!

Not only is the food and experience amazing but the staff really makes it special. Our server was Amber M. She was friendly and patient, answering all our questions. A special shoutout to Libby who went above and beyond assisting our wheelchair bound friends. She is an asset to the team.

I've been back to this fabulous bay from establishment once again for excellent food and drinks. The service here is first class. They have a fun causal ambience with top notch seafood and steaks. Highly recommend.

Excellent meal in what could've been tourist trap. Genuine Southern hospitality from host and staff on a cold drizzly day in Mobile. We were seated at a window, which overlooked the gloomy shore, but the vibrant warm atmosphere more than compensated. Our server was so friendly, well-informed and patiently advised my vegan husband on the menu and how they could accommodate his needs. All their batters, for example, are vegan as there is no egg. He was able to start with the yummy fried green tomatoes and the special truffle fries, minus the Parmesan topping. They even made him a tasty vegetable pasta with marinara. He was thrilled! I was delighted to try the fried crab claws, crab soup and Petite Bateau (fisherman's platter with fried oysters, shrimp and fish) and all were stellar. Drinks were promptly refilled without being asked, the coffee served piping hot in warmed cups, and the donut holes were a fantastic way to cap a delicious lunch. Highly recommend.

Amazing experience. The view, waitress and food was great! Did not disappoint, will definitely be returning next time I'm in town.

Love the location of this restaurant & the ability to make reservations! However, we went a little before sunset & the restaurant was so hot. I'm not sure if it's where we were seated or what (could have also been because it was Sept. on the coast). Food was good, but not super amazing. Macaroni was mid at best.

Our waiter, Caleb, was personable and gracious. His recommendations were "right on." The lobster soup--couldn't stop eating it! Our entrees: boiled shrimp and sea bass were delightful, as were the sides of succotash, green tomatoes, and the best coleslaw anywhere! I strongly recommend the lemon ice box dessert to complement a perfect meal. Definitely recommended!!

My boyfriend and I came in for a date night. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with smiling faces and the best hospitality. The parking lot was full and so was the dining room. Our server Matt and the rest of the staff made us feel like the only people there. The food was EXCELLENT! Literally, the best steak I've ever had! We plan on going back regularly. Matt and the staff made our experience so personal and perfect, we are definitely going to be regulars. We also ordered the oysters casino for an appetizer.... They were so good I forgot to take a picture!

3.5 stars...I don't have half-star technology. It was hit and miss when we went. Place def has character. If you are old enuf to remember the 80s movie Porky's...kinda looks like that from the outside. Party of 6. Can be a challenge when trying to find a table at a busy joint. But, Megan at the front desk hooked us up. Seated in the large bar area. Ambience is cool, views are nice especially around sunset. Service was ok. Prices reasonable. Food was inconsistent. For a fish place, you'd think those dishes would be dialed in. They weren't. A couple of dishes were overcooked. Some dishes came out lukewarm.. Others, though were really good - the soft shell crabs, shrimp and grits (the shrimp were a little overcooked). All in all. A cool place. The food is ok, but I'd say the character and ambience is worth a go.

    It's campy!!!

Menu is standard greasy spoon diner fare, but executed perfectly with good portions big enough to fill but not so big as to stuff one like a turkey. I very much enjoyed my Corned Beef Hash, but salivated over the beautiful Biscuits and Gravy that others ordered. Service was quick and friendly without hovering or sucking up. Clearly a lot of regular customers--people walking up were welcomed by first names by the waitresses. I'll definitely be back.

Came here Sunday May 3rd around 1pm. Was busy but not completely full where you had to wait for a table. We sat down and waited for our server to take our order. It took our server about 20 mins to come over and take our order. So we put in our food order when the server came by to take our drink order. Food took about 40 mins from when we ordered to when we got our food. I used to work in restaurants (the busiest of restaurants) and know that you should staff more, prep more, and place larger food orders in anticipation of being fully booked friday night till sunday night. I ordered gumbo. My niece got biscuits and gravy. The gumbo was pretty good except would have liked the roux a little thicker. The gravy on the biscuits was lacking in flavor. I love diners and love supporting locally owned businesses. Maybe some staff called off this particular day because the service was slow. But I wil be back.
