An order at the counter place with a small menu of sandwiches, burgers and sides. Portions were large. We shared a double patty melt and double pimento cheese burger. The burger patties were seasoned, juicy and were prepared. Toppings were plentiful. We tried the house fries and waffle fries. The waffle fries are a new trial for them. We found the waffle fries to be better since they were crispy. Can't go wrong with either though. The seasoning was generous and flavorful. Service was awesome. Bo (or Beau?) took our order. He was friendly and kept the tables and dining rooms clean! The place was immaculate for a fast food place. Large dining room with plenty of seating. I generally dislike the cafeteria style dining experience but I suppose it might make sense for Ox Kitchen. The outside seating area is nice and enclosed. There are no trash receptacles outside. My Greek burger was wildly underdone on one side but overall good. They serve everything on metal trays as plates and offer no additional ways to share anything. All items seem to be a la carte. The tacos were good and had a surprisingly nice spice/heat to them however I feel that most people in this region might find that off putting. The side of fries (normal/house) was more than enough to share (too much for one person) and came out rather cold. They were good though, there's potential there! Service was friendly but again, I'm not wild about going out to eat and tipping when you are ordering from a counter and cleaning up after yourselves. If you're in the area I'd definitely recommend stopping by to check it out but there is no reason to go out of your way IMO. read more

The food isn't the issue but cooking my food without gloves is. The cook was in the lobby when I walked in I walked in. Once I placed my order she just walked into the kitchen and started cooking while talking with the hostess at the register. The guy working the kitchen with her did wear gloves. I just ate here for the first time with my honey and a friend and neighbor and it was good experience from start to finish. Ox Kitchen opened its doors in 2017 in the back corner of what is now The Mill in Fairhope, but their location moved to it's current spot at 365 Greeno Road South, Fairhope. Their food is made fresh daily, from the smoked turkey and pecan-smoked wings, to the homemade French fries, sauces and salad dressings, even down to the homemade pickles. The freshness is on the plate here. Our friend had the Ox Burger which is served on a brioche bun with American cheese, lettuce, tomato, house pickle, onion, Dukes mayonnaise and Ox gravy. My 2 cents...just eat it like they serve it. All of the flavors and textures just add to the enjoyment. Also, try the single before diving into a double unless you just want a to-go bag.
