This is a real locals spot and not someplace that I would be rushing to go out of my way to visit. We were very presently surprised that the pizza was as thin and crispy as we have become accustomed to in the Chicago area. We ordered sausage and mushroom with giardinera, and although we ordered hot giardinera it came out mild. It was still very flavorful. The bang pow shrimp were a tad disappointing in that they were served on top of spring mix of which 30% was spoiled. There weren't many shrimp for the price and the breading was fairly thick. What we disliked the least was the limited menu on the patio (no entrees) and the use of paper plates and plastic silverware. They could easily get some decent melamine plates that wouldn't shatter if dropped and it would really help it feel like a slightly more upscale place. The look of the pier at the end of the property also makes it look very rundown. There is a nice gas fire pit with Adirondack chairs at one end of the patio, great for cool nights. read more

And we made reservations, but when we showed up the hostess seemed overwhelmed and initially said she didn't know if she could even seat us. Tried the Waterfront on Brown's Lake again and would definitely recommend it if you're looking for a place to dine on the lake. This time we were seated on the outer patio (downstairs) and had a wonderful view of the lake. Service: Service was polite and the server brought everything to us in a quick and consistent manner. Food: I tried the shrimp tacos and the shrimp were huge and generously sized. You get two tacos and it's definitely enough. I opted for the clam chowder and it was very tasty. There was bacon in it (which was weird) but the flavor was very good. My guests had the blackened salmon (really good feedback) and the Friday Fish Fry (was told it was kind of salty and didn't come out hot). Tips: Get there early! This place fills up really really fast on a Friday. Definitely recommended and would love to try the other menu items next time. read more

My wife and I ate here twice in the past two months - both on Friday nights. We tend to be late eaters and we arrived both times around 7pm. There were tables available both times but we advised the hostess we wanted to sit at the bar and have a drink first. She told us to just let us know when we were ready. The first time we were eventually seated at a non-window table so the second time we told the hostess that we preferred a window table and were willing to wait a little longer for one to become available and asked her to get us when one was available - which she did. Beautiful view of the lake from the window tables as well as from some of the stools at the bar. I had the baked fish our first visit and it was very good. The second time I decided to try an entree I hadn't noticed before - Baked Cod Crab Oscar - which was $4 more than the regular baked cod. As a side note they also have a Baked Cod Oscar - without the crab - and that's $2 less than the one with crab. More importantly - it was excellent and I'll order that each time we go there on Friday. It has a delicious sauce - similar to a hollandaise. My wife is a vegetarian and had their Summer Spinach Salad both times and really loved it. There's not a lot for her to eat at most restaurants but there were also a number of pasta dishes available. We enjoyed both our visits and plan on it being on our "regular" circuit - we have plenty of other places we like so in our case, that means we'll be back every few months at least. Great food, nice bar area, friendly waitstaff and reasonable prices. Definitely recommend you give it a shot. read more

I've been here many times, but I'll never go back. After waiting 45 minutes for 2 fish frys and seeing people that were seated well after us getting food, eating their food and having food boxed up BEFORE even getting our meal is unacceptable. Even more unacceptable is how we were treated for asking if there would be any compensation for the long wait. Maybe a beer or a dessert could have been offered and that would have been good, but to have the manager come out and give every excuse she could think of as to why we didn't have our food and be rude about it as if we were inconveniencing her for even being there is not only bad management, it's bad business. read more

We decided we to have a 'date night' and try this restaurant we found listed on Wisconsin Supper Clubs. 530pm on a Sat.night and barely any cars in the lot should have been our first clue. We kept flipping it over, where are the things from the website, such as the onion straw appetizer? She said that the only menu items they had now were what was on that small menu and we mentioned the website. She said the previous owner left and had the website logins so no one can change it. Apparently the same goes for their Facebook page since nothing is current. This menu had a few appetizers, a few sandwiches, a few salads and pizza. We certainly didn't want to order pizza on a special.night at a supper club. Ironically NO FISH was available at a lakefront dining establishment. Bf wanted fried chicken-not available and I love Cubans so I ordered that, also not available. Ugh! I ordered the beef with au jus and a side salad and the Man ordered the ribeye sandwich. We also ordered the pretzel with beer cheese. We were told they were also short stuffed so be prepared to wait. The Man wanted to leave a few times while waiting for the appetizer and then while waiting for the entrees. I work in retail so I understand staffing challenges and wanted to give this place a go, although I was having doubts. Pretzel was great. Nice much to screw up there. Waited a long while for the 2 sandwiches. Pics show presentation upon arrival. Ribeye was tough he said. My beef was tasty but nothing special. Au jus was good, garlic spread on the bread not melted or anything. Just chunks. I had 3 old fashioneds. I thought it was odd she asked if I wanted them with brandy and fruit???? This IS Wisconsin, right???? The Man had 2 virgin Arnold Palmers. Our bill was over $70 and he mentioned we could have gone to Texas Roadhouse for that price. I'm so supremely disappointed. After we left and discussed it. We concluded they didn't have any prime rib or steak on purpose because if they did, they would want to serve that up, staffing or no, because that's a hefty bunch of money to be wasting in meat. We suspect declining sales are the real issue to that menu item not being sold. Nobody is going to go, hey let's serve burgers and just keep the prime rib in the freezer. On a Saturday night. In Wisconsin. At a supper club. As far as the supper club aspect, it's not one at all. In regards to the website, that's fixable with initiative. Since we live in a digital age, that should be #1 on the list of things to deal with. Then revamp & scale down the menu to include actual super club staples that are always available, well cooked and well presented. And price accordingly. I first have to say I am a Chef, and I have been cooking for 50 years, I tried this place on a busy Friday night, found out there was 1 cook making pizzas and one cooking everything else. Let me tell you the beer batter fish was cooked to perfection. The seasoning gave the fish great flavor. The Cole Slaw was also great. I was so impressed with the cook that for the first time in many years, I actually bought the cook a drink and sent him a $10.00 tip. I will be back again. Hostess was kind of rude but our waitress was great. It seems like they are letting it go down hill from past years. Half full on a Saturday at 5. It used to be jammed with waiting lists. This could be a gem with even wedding events. The pier looks like its sinking and unpainted and the yard is untrimmed. People come here for the lake views and they used to have live music on Saturdays! FIRE this new manager, no where to be seen or heard of. We were there 2 weeks ago and only one cook out of 5 showed up so they couldn't even open. This is a management issue! They have a hiring issue the waitress said but a few miles away at Sportsmans Bar we get the same waitresses year after. What are they doing right? Website says they are still closed on Sundays but Face book says there open. This is basic website management that a 16 yr. old could fix. Food was ok but my handmade chips were a couple days old. The boys state volleyball championships were in Burlington this year (Nov 7th). Between games we stopped at The Waterfront on Brown's Lake (as did just about everyone else attending the games :/). There was one bartender and she was clearly not happy with the number of customers. I was trying to give some kind words about her being the only bartender and she took it the wrong way and snapped "You don't need to feel sorry for me". Then when she got around to taking our order, I forgot to state "Sweet or sour" for my old fashioned and she raises here arms and gives me a look of disgust asking "Well sweet of sour"? I know they were not expecting that number of people and I did have sympathy until she started taking it out on me and other customers. Not how you handle the situation at all.... Best thing about this was our server Sarah. Our appetizer of the pork belly was overcooked and this was the same with our steaks. I ordered mine medium rare and my wife rare. What we got was well done and medium well. For an almost $100 bill I think Texas Roadhouse would have had been a better option. I think the lake is the draw here. We stopped in to have Waterfronts Thursday pizza special. We ordered a bottle of wine...and we had the salad, and garlic bread which comes with their pizza special. We waited for over an hour...I couldnt believe how long the pizza was taking.... The bartender decided to check on our pizza and she came back out and said our pizza was the next pizza. Another 20 minutes went by, then we heard the kitchen help say to the waitress that they ran out of pizza's...we heard that a few times. The bartender later came up to us and told us the kitchen goofed up on our order. The bartender never offered us any other food, she just quickly totaled up the salad, bread, and bottle of wine that we had & gave us our bill. The bartender barely said she was sorry. This was the worst restaurant experience we have ever had...We have been a regular customers at this restaurant for years. Im not sure I ever want to come back to the Waterfront...We really dont know why we never got our pizza. They lied to us when they said the pizza was coming out soon..Is this how you take care of your customers????? Personally, we shouldnt have been charged for anything and we shouldve been offered something to eat instead of rushing us out the door..!!! read more
