DO NOT USE THIS CAR WASH. They will damage your vehicle and then refuse to pay for it. I took my 2017 vehicle--pristine inside and out, meticulously maintained--through The Wave on Whitman Lane for a routine wash. The driver-side mirror cover was factory-original, never disassembled, never repaired, zero bodywork ever performed on the mirror or surrounding area. It was exactly as it left the assembly line. Their blower ripped the mirror cover clean off, snapping one of the three plastic mounting tabs that secure it. That tab is now permanently broken and unusable--leaving the cover held by only two tabs (a 33% loss in holding strength). At first, the manager seemed reasonable. He asked for a repair estimate, which I promptly provided from a reputable local body shop. Once I did, the excuses began: * They questioned the estimate's validity. * They demanded I go back to the shop for clarification on the OEM mirror that was being sourced. * I did exactly that. The shop revised the quote to address the concern. Then, radio silence--followed by a cowardly email claiming they're not liable because "the mirror cover came off in the blower," implying my car had "prior damage" or "previous work." They have zero evidence for this. The mirror was untouched since new. They're fabricating excuses to dodge responsibility. Now I'm out over $800 for a repair that should've been 100% on them. Worse: * The cover now has 33% less holding power. * That means a 33% higher chance of it detaching in any future car wash. * I can no longer use any automated car wash--including theirs--without risking further damage. Their equipment is clearly too aggressive for modern vehicles, yet they refuse to stand behind the damage it causes. This isn't an isolated incident; a quick search shows others have had mirrors, antennas, and trim destroyed here with the same runaround. Unacceptable. Dishonest. Dangerous. I will never return, and I'm demanding a full refund for the unused washes on my membership cards. I'll be taking this to small claims if needed. Save your car. Save your money. Came back from driving in California's farmland, so I had a lot of bugs to wash off the front of our car. Came here and they had a Tuesday special, $2 off for Ladies Day and you get chocolate (two Hershey's kisses, but whatever, chocolate is chocolate, lol). Got the basic wash and they did a great job. Sometimes when you go to a car washes like this, you have to go through twice because they miss a spot, but they didn't let me go through the rollers until they scrubbed every surface. Love their thoroughness and they are also a lot cheaper than The Wave, so I'll definitely be coming here for all my car wash needs. read more

They spray wash your tires in your car before you go in to get your car washed and it comes out very clean and they have a bag. They have vacuum cleaners you for free so you can vacuum the inside of your car and I like going through and drying off my car, cleaning it up. It does a very good job. I'm disappointed. Waited and waited and waited. As I drove up. As I was guided in, this kid started spraying as I was trying to roll up my windows. Not one single smile. The kid looked miserable. I get that everyone has a bad day but gosh! My car wasn't cleaned very well around the wheels, something I paid extra for. They forgot to take off the plastic cover from my back wind shield blade, or just didn't care. I almost drove back and complained because I was literally the only car there! Absolutely no excuse for this kind of treatment. Highly disappointed and probably won't return! Too bad too because it's so close to work! Oh and when I looked at the receipt, they didn't give me my military discount! They just didn't care and this was so disappointing. read more

My car was DIIIRRTTYY. 1,000+ miles and no wash left me needing it badly and definitely needing a nice vacuum. The guy at the front was totally nice and told me about the prices and washes and was great! The only issues I had included the fact the back of my car didn't seem to be touched on the back, the vacuums were closed - now the vaccums weren't their issue COVID put a damper on that and the drying feature to blow off the water did *some* drying but not all. Overall nice job there just isn't really an excuse for a whole back of a car to be untouched. the guys were very nice though! read more

Lured in by $2 off Ladies Day and chocolate to enjoy during the ride. Opted for Elite $18 and gave guy $20. Asked to move ahead by girl working there while boy got my change. Only receive $2 and no chocolate but car wash started to pull my car through. After I approached girl & she said boy was new but she told him to remember $2 off ladies special but without a receipt she couldn't refund me the $2. I didn't get a receipt. I assume the boy is stuffing his pocket with the $2 discount for cash paying customers or him a the girl are splitting it at the end of the day. Also how does a $18 car wash not include free vacuums? Great place! Just went for my first time for girls day and got $2 off plus they give you a little wipe to wipe your car down on the inside. There was some soap left over on my car when I got out of the wash so that's about the only negative. Otherwise my very dirty car looks like new again! Will be back! read more

I know to give them a tip prior to going through on my next visit; as I am sure they do not get paid near enough for how much work they do The reason the car wash doesn't get five stars is that I have not had much experience with self-service car washes. I know, in the area these are not called self service, but I am used to the car washes in California where they do ALL of the work. You pull up, leave your keys, go sit in a massage chair or grab a drink and wait at a table to read or whatever you plan to do, and then a half hour later, your car is sparkling clean and dry: INSIDE and OUT; all for a comparable price. I may change my rating once I try a couple car washes in the area. Again, the staff here is FANTASTIC! Oh, there are also "discount days" where you get $2.00 off and CHOCOLATE. This place is our go-to for a quick wash and wax. Their monthly passes are a great deal and help us keep our cars on the clean side. They also have special days where different groups get discounts. I was hoping my car would get cleaner here than I'm usually able to get it at those self-service car washes. Also, I had nostalgia for riding through an automatic car wash, something I hadn't done since I was a little kid. My windshield was quite dirty since it had been raining a few days ago, and while it got basically clean, there were still streaks and smudges left. So maybe I'll stick with the self-service places in the future. I just got the basic car wash, but still, I don't think I should have to pay more than $7 to get a clean windshield. And it was under a tree they sent it through once and it still needed some work they sent it through again spent like 10 minutes scrubbing it down. I didn't even ask they just offered. The prices were half of what they are at other car washes. I went hiking yesterday and my car was filthy. I got a basic exterior wash and my car looks clean again! Did not get an interior cleaning but from the outside cleaning this place is worth $8! I've been using the Tumwater Auto Spa since it opened and always thought they did an "OK" job. I know there's always some spots that are hard to get in an automatic tunnel wash. I have a 2018 Toyota 4 runner that I've taken there a few times. It's black and quite shiny. After going through the wash on August 4, I notice scratches all down the passenger side of the vehicle. I know they were not there before I went through because I had actually spent time just before I went, inspecting the whole car. I am not maintaining that they were caused by the automatic revolving brushes, but rather by the hand brushing done in the pre wash. The scratches run the whole length on the side and even follow the curve of the wheel wells. The manager denied any responsibility, which is sort of what I expected. I have no interest in trying to get something for nothing and one of the main reasons I contacted them was to alert them that they might have some defective equipment. I have been a business owner in the area for thirty years and I know you can't make everyone happy, but to just blow off a customer's concern isn't right. If you like your vehicle and want it to stay looking nice without extra scratches, AVOID THIS PLACE! read more

This would not let me give a "0" so gave 1 star. I cannot believe in this day and age how I was treated! I would NEVER go back or tell anyone to go there! I paid $12. The initial guy was friendly. the 2 guys hap=hazardly pushed the brush brooms around on my vehicle. Not much effort. There was NO one behind me, so dont understand. After going threw there was NO one to towel wipe my vehicle dry. There was extreme amounts of soap everywhere. I got out to look all the way around vehicle and tons of soap and NOT clean. Then I noticed my windshield wiper was bent. drove back to beginning and asked for manager. He came and asked in a smug way..."is there a problem"? Yes, I said. can you please look at my windshield wiper? so he bent it back against the windshield and said there fixed. I said, I dont think that will safice. It was not at all close to fitting against windshield. He took forever to explain it didnt happen in car wash. And as a female I would not even notice when it happened. At this point I asked him to step up & do right thing and replace the wiper. He huffed and finally after much more degrading conversation finally did. NEVER NEVER again. Nothing wrong with the wash but everything went wrong with the staff. I would normally visit Tumwater Auto Spa about 3 to 4 times a month to get my car washed, it was local and the price was fair. After today's experience my family will no longer be going to Tumwater Auto Spa! My 4 year old son had to pee after we had been sitting in line waiting for a car wash, I asked the worker if my son could use their restroom and initially the young worker was unsure, but decided it was ok. We proceeded quickly to get this done and be on our way when the other worker decided to say no, he told me my child couldn't even pee outside and then told me to go across the street to the shell station (how in the hell am I suppose to move my car with 4 or 5 other cars behind me in time for my child to make it to the restroom, obviously this kid hasn't had to utilize his brain much). Look I get why the bathrooms are employees only and if my son was much older I would make him wait, but he isn't he is 4, and I will be damned to have some kid tell me my son can't go to the bathroom! There has to be exceptions on some occasions and people should be able to utilize their brains! read more
