DO NOT USE THIS CAR WASH. They will damage your vehicle and then refuse to pay for it. I took my 2017 vehicle--pristine inside and out, meticulously maintained--through The Wave on Whitman Lane for a routine wash. The driver-side mirror cover was factory-original, never disassembled, never repaired, zero bodywork ever performed on the mirror or surrounding area. It was exactly as it left the assembly line. Their blower ripped the mirror cover clean off, snapping one of the three plastic mounting tabs that secure it. That tab is now permanently broken and unusable--leaving the cover held by only two tabs (a 33% loss in holding strength). At first, the manager seemed reasonable. He asked for a repair estimate, which I promptly provided from a reputable local body shop. Once I did, the excuses began: * They questioned the estimate's validity. * They demanded I go back to the shop for clarification on the OEM mirror that was being sourced. * I did exactly that. The shop revised the quote to address the concern. Then, radio silence--followed by a cowardly email claiming they're not liable because "the mirror cover came off in the blower," implying my car had "prior damage" or "previous work." They have zero evidence for this. The mirror was untouched since new. They're fabricating excuses to dodge responsibility. Now I'm out over $800 for a repair that should've been 100% on them. Worse: * The cover now has 33% less holding power. * That means a 33% higher chance of it detaching in any future car wash. * I can no longer use any automated car wash--including theirs--without risking further damage. Their equipment is clearly too aggressive for modern vehicles, yet they refuse to stand behind the damage it causes. This isn't an isolated incident; a quick search shows others have had mirrors, antennas, and trim destroyed here with the same runaround. Unacceptable. Dishonest. Dangerous. I will never return, and I'm demanding a full refund for the unused washes on my membership cards. I'll be taking this to small claims if needed. Save your car. Save your money. I'll just say that during the holidays. The wave car wash typically provides some pretty good value with discounts, such as, a BOGO deal or extra washes per card, et cetera. The car wash itself is probably the best around and the best that i've ever used. That said, in a time when most folks are trying to incorporate some sort of technology, the wave gets an F-minus. So I suppose this is more a review on the business and the business model and not the actual operation of the car wash. The wave has a new website, which is terrible, Super difficult to navigate, hard to determine how to put something in your shopping cart. And then when you do make a purchase it seems to have a major delay in sending you some sort of confirmation that you actually made a purchase. Second of all they do not have an app it's a website, not convenient. When you get the confirmation of your purchase, you are sent a barcode in an email. This barcode is used by the car wash tenait's to scan to deduct the car wash from your virtual card. Because I did not print out the barcode, which kind of defeats the purpose of a virtual card, I actually had to hand my phone over to the tenant. Who went into a room that was concealed from me to scan the barcode to give me the car wash. I'm not sure about you but I don't really like people having my phone, especially when i cant see them or the phone as It has a lot of personal information on it. Duh! I think until the wave figures out how to actually provide some sort of set up so that I can scan myself the barcode or the card myself or a mobile scanner for the tenant to bring to me, I will not be purchasing any more cards online. I have used this place for several years and they are subpar. Today I gave the guy my card and he went in to ring it up and then I could see him standing in the doorway along with another employee BSing with some guy in front of me in a truck. There was soap on the back of his truck and it was drying. I sat there just watching them chat away. Nobody else was behind me and the truck was the only one in front of me. After about five minutes I finally had to call the guy back over and tell him to give me my card back. I backed up and left. Not going back. read more

I can't tell you if the wash was good because I didn't get a wash. Only one of three lanes was open, with employee cars parked to block the other two lanes. Only after I pulled into the only open lane did they have a sign noting "cards only, no cash accepted" As I limit my use of cards I had to very carefully turn around and wait for someone to let me out of the one open lane to get out. Usually this car wash does not fully clean my vehicle, but it is one of the only ones in town and the better of the options. However, on Saturday Brendan and his crew actually did an awesome job. I have a new Subaru forester and the lip on the back usually makes it so a lot is missed on the back portion of my car. I guess it was my lucky day, these guys really scrubbed my car down today and got all the small spots which I appreciate. I truly wish this was the case every time, sadly I think a lot of the people they hire usually do not put in all of that effort. I wish these three worked every time I went to get my car washed! I've always thought this car wash is way over priced as well.... because it is. With how much this place probably brings in in revenue, it would be nice to see some updated equipment. Their wash destroyed the paint job on our SUV and the manager couldn't have cared less. Said he'd check the video for proof that we were there that day and said he'd call us back. He never called us back and we couldn't track him down. Maybe their tapes are like the Watergate tapes. I would recommend the wave if you want to ruin your vehicle. I've been going here for years and although it never gets my rims clean, it's "good enough" for me. I tried the Banzai thinking it would be a step up and make a difference. Every inch of my car now has harden small tiny "beads" embedded in it - my window, my paint, the rims - everything. I totally ruined my car. The glare it creates when I drive is so bad it's a safety hazard, and no matter how many times I try to get my windshield clean, it just smears everywhere. I've called the location twice now and left voicemails with absolutely zero reply. All I want is then to make it right by detailing/washing the outside of my car until it's conditioned is restored, but crickets. Ruined my car and don't even have the decency to make it right - and thank god it seems like with enough elbow grease it can be made right. This location is efficient and they consistently do a good job. My comment is for management. Why are you making employees where button up shirts and ties? It doesn't match the theme and seems uncomfortable. Staff are working hard, physically cleaning cars before they go through "the wave" machine. I've called a few times with no response. I am the nanny for a family and while we were getting a car wash one of the employees texted someone about how disgusted she was to wash our car. This conversation was later screen shouted and posted to a go fund me account. I have been stalked and harassed and so has my family. I can't even wash my car now?! Sometimes, it's just too damn cold to wash the car yourself. And that's where engineering marvels like The Wave come in. Might I add, The Wave is a 'green' engineering marvel because most of the water is recycled, and they use biodegradable soap. I used to be opposed to automated car washes because they tended to use abrasive scrubbers, leaving scratches on the car's exterior. So far, this hasn't been the case for The Wave. The large pads they use, along with the wheel cleaners, make your car come out impressively clean as you exit. The aforementioned biodegradable soap they use has a Skittles smell to it, so if your car smells like the ass end of your dog, or the bowl of your hash pipe, well.....this soap will help with that. The customer service is pretty good, as well. I don't really expect anything impressive from high school guys, but these guys greet you promptly, talk with a sense of respect, and scrub your car during the pre-wash decently. So, since it's a car wash, and not a 5 star restaurant, my review will be brief. But should you need a good car wash, The Wave will certainly give your money's worth. read more

I had a bug shield on the front hood of my car. The car wash ripped it off and also bent my front license plate in half. They have a disclaimer about all this, but I have used car washes for years without any issues. Just beware that you don't have anything loose on the outside of your vehicle as their scrubbies are pretty tight and aggressive. They refunded me for the carwash, but I gotta buy a new bug shield. They do a decent job, but I'm curious why they yell out the tip (or write it on your windshield). I've tested the process and I got the same "service" with a $3 tip as I did with a $6 tip. It's not like they spent more time on hand scrubbing the wheels or windshield. Seems a little unethical to perform a service based on the tip. I am a generous tipper but you don't hear waitresses yell out the tip you leave them as you pay the bill. I used their detail shop a few days ago. They are pretty customer service oriented and did a pretty good job. It cost $125 for wash, hand wax & vacuum. When I was leaving I noticed that one of the wheels still had some dirt. I asked the attendant if they washed the wheels & I pointed to the wheel in question. He replied that he was sure they washed the wheels & he hurried off. Sorry, no photo this time - I just drove off. I guess I have a little sticker shock because I could get the same service for $25 in Las Vegas & they would have responded to anything that wasn't completely satisfactory. read more

If you need people that dress like accountants while they wash your car, this is the place for you! No complaints about the wash...it's a car wash, I didn't have to do it, and the people were friendly. I can tell you that the vacuums sucked in the wrong kind of way. Very little suction, the nozzle kept falling off (I spent more time putting the nozzle on than vacuuming), and you have to pay for them which is kinda lame. Several options, with punchcards and discounts, and the single washes vary in price all the way up to $15 a pop. I think I paid $8 because the $6 option seemed cheap, and the $15 option seemed silly. All go through the same track, and I think you are paying for different soap, or something. But, they do use environmentally sensitive cleaning agents that are biodegradable. And, they recycle 75% of their water (which I think most carwashes do) unlike the perpetual Oly-Lacey carwash fundraisers that spring up every, uh, spring. If you want to donate to an organization, do that, and then wash your car here. It's better for Puget Sound, if not the cheerleading team. read more

I have used this car wash for years with no issues, but two months ago my front wiper broke going thru, i replaced it, a month later, replaced it again. So sunday I asked for them to be taped down and got atittude from a young gal there. She finally agreed to tape them, but then i could hear the employees talking about me outside. So embarassing. HORRIBLE way to treat a customer, the upside was she told me everyone else in town taped them, they didnt have to? Great I will now go to the other places. I have never had a better experience. I went through the wave and got the $10 tidal wave and when I got home my bumper had broken off and torn on my 2013 scion frs. At first I thought I will never go back ever. But after the accident within less then a week I had my quote to fix and a check from the wave for the amount. Plus a free wash. Theyve had my parents business for years and will have mine for years to come. They were so polite about the whole thing I never felt that I wasnt being taken care of. I was never avoided and was assured it would be fixed. I literally did not have one negative experience with them. The staff is extremely customer oriented and well rounded employees. Rather annoyed Anyone have some insurance knowledge that you could maybe advise me on how to handle this situation with a company claiming they don't have insurance? So I went through "The Wave Car Wash" off yelm highway and when I came out my windshield wiper was bent backwards and jacked up, then saw that there were deep scratches across the top, sides and back of my Jeep. I went on to talk to them and the employee said this happens sometimes and went in and got some stuff and came out and some of them buffed out but not the deep ones and he started marking on an insurance claim form the damages areas and when he was about done the manager shows up and started saying oh no these are old scratches and a car wash can't do samge to your vehicle.... I already took pictures before the guys started buffing on things, they were brighy white and fresh. I then wanted to see their videos and so we went inside and he wasn't pleased I wanted to watch too and you can see every angle of my Jeep coming in there there were no scratches and coming out you can see the wiper all bent up but the video is dark and not all sides and lit up like coming in so you can't tell anything in the dark and wet... And 8 had been there a time before because I bought a package and we watched 3 times of my Jeep not having them and then he said ok we'll finish the claim form and we will get the ball rolling. I asked when I would hear from someone and he said probably tomorrow. Now it's been 3 days and I heard nothing and now he says his corporate says that they didn't do the damage and I asked who their insurance company is and that I'm calling mine and he said they don't have insurance (he was a terrible liar and had I'm lying to you written all over his face). Any suggestions on what to do when I just got blown off with "we don't have insurance and my corporate office said we didn't do the damage"? I'm a little irritated being bold face lied to when they knew right away and admitted they did the damage when it happened. P.S. Car washes can jack up your vehicle. read more

Great car wash, they do decent job.

Not a bad drive thru wash. Had to get the ash taken care of and they make it easy with a sit through wash. $10-$15 average, or become a monthly member. Some nice add-on's to protect your car or not. Mostly Friendly greeter takes your order. Cash or card. Little ones love seeing the colors of the soap as well as the machines doing the washing. Could just use a dry towel after the forced air, but I just bring my own. Vacuums available as well as an oil change in the same lot. Two birds one stone. read more

Been using them for the last year, They have a new deal where you pay $39.00 per month for basically a unlimited car wash for a month. The only thing I don't like is that they automatically withdraw the money from your bank account, and a pain to get them to stop withdrawing your money. And if it is raining all month you don't want to wash your car, so you lose the money because it is withdrawn whether you like it or not. Their queuing system sucks once cars are out of the car wash! Several cars that came in behind me got done before me! I drive a full sized 3/4 ton truck and they had one guy working on it while they had 2 girls working on smaller cars like Honda accord and civics. I like that the carwash is near my house and has plenty of options. But all of that changed a few days ago... I knew something was up when the guy took my credit card as payment and disappeared with it into the office for quite a long time. A line of cars started forming behnd me as the minutes ticked away. I grew suspicious... But finally the guy reappeared, handed me the card and receipt, and apologized for the delay. I checked the amount on the receipt ($8) and was satisfied that the charge was correct. Fast forward to today. I checked my bank account online and saw that there were two $8 charges from The Wave Car Wash. The guy had swiped my card twice! I went back to the Car Wash to tell them what had happened, and the guy working there (not the same one who rang my card two times) asked if I had a receipt showing the two transactions. Of course I didn't because I was only handed the one. He said that there isn't really anything he can do. I'm going to take my business elsewhere. There's a nice car wash facility in Tumwater that gives ladies $2 discounts and chocolates on Tuesdays. read more

You can buy a $60 car wash gift card and it gets you 5 washes. You can't beat that deal. What I also love about this car wash is extra wide ties can fit into the car wash tracks. There's not a lot of car washes that can accommodate my tires. Learned that the hard way by getting a piece of my tires gouged out at another car wash. read more
