Came here yesterday evening around 7. Thankfully we got there just in time before it got super busy. The two of us were able to get seated at the bar right away. The atmosphere is great! Love the decor and what they've done with the space that was formerly Mellow Fellow (RIP). The sushi bartender was a little hard to understand due to the volume of the restaurant, proximity, etc. but we made it through! The sushi itself, very delicious. Fun, unique, rolls specific to this restaurant. The presentation alone for some of these was incredible. The downside, the wait staff were really not up to par with the service. We had to flag down a couple waitresses for water when we set down and also for napkins and chopsticks. We weren't given a drink menu so we had to guess what drinks they had just by looking at other patrons and what they ordered. We asked for the check at the end of our meal and sat for a good 15 minutes. When she came back, we had to ask for the tab again. This spot had great potential, just a few minor things need improvements to really elevate the experience

Great addition to downtown Reno across Greater Nevada field! Menu is small for now but they had only been open for less than a month when I visited with my partner for a date night. Was seated right away at the bar and the chef was delivering each request at a timely manner. If you're short this might be a downside since reaching for each plate was a bit of a struggle (i can attest to this). Overall, waiter was attentive, it was during the World Cup so all the TVs had the game but mostly sports are played here.

This newer sushi joint is located across the street from the Aces stadium attatched to the parking garage. The atmosphere was lively and cool. The hostess was friendly and helpful and quoted us a 35 minute wait. We were seated before 35 minutes with Kayla. Hubby and I came in for an early dinner without our kids. One thing about us is we have AYCE sushi at least twice a week. The staff here as a whole were amazing. Although we had a designated server, everyone came by to make sure we were doing okay and clearing our plates. Our food came out fairly quickly and everything was delicious. We even had a bite of their tiramasu and a bite of cookie dough ice cream. We look forward to coming back with our kids. They didn't realize we were coming here until we went back home. I recommend The Wave and look forward to adding them to our local rotation.

Aside from putting me on a very wobbly table this place has some of the best sushi in town. I've been to multiple places and this by far has exceeded my expectations. From the price to the service to everything just really great I don't remember the names of the rolls but they were so delicious. The location for it as well is just perfect especially after a baseball game. Really refreshing and the staff so friendly just makes the atmosphere feel more inviting.

The customer service here was excellent. Everyone from the hostess to the waitstaff to the chefs were all very friendly and seemed happy to be there. When I told them it was my friend's birthday, they seemed genuinely happy for her. When they brought dessert with a candle they sang, but not it an obligatory, robotic way. It was in a genuinely fun 'having a good time' way. That even brought her a shrimp hat to wear. The sushi's was good, not great, but the atmosphere was very relaxed and fun. Best restaurant birthday ever

Husband and I went here for lunch yesterday and we really enjoyed it. The service from the servers was great but the sushi was pretty slow coming out which was kind of frustrating especially since we were sitting at the bar. Another issue was there was rice was way too wet so the rolls were like one sushi log which they also made into the crab box the put on top of their rolls. The World Cup final was also on and it was SO loud. Once it was over they started playing music which was also a bit too loud. Overall it was an okay experience and I might give it another try.

I work in this building so I was really excited to learn there was a sushi spot in it now ! I ordered the crystal shrimp and the yakiton. Didn't get an image of the yakiton because I ate it that quickly . I do love that you can taste the freshness . Very good . Only thing is the rolls are small in size . - side note should definitely start a lunch special for people that work in the building , 500+ people work there .

We finally got to try The Wave! We wanted to wait for less crowds since the grand opening brought in a lot of people! The place was still very busy but didn't feel too crazy. We ordered mussels, edamame and yakitons for appetizers. The mussels weren't my favorite, but the edamame and yakitons were very good. The sushi was delicious! I loved the new and different flavors this place showcased in their menu. We tried The Wave roll featuring some charred bell peppers creating a nice different Latin twist to the roll. There are few unhoused people downtown who will occasionally stroll in. The employees try to keep the peace and avoid conflict as swiftly as possible. But it is something to note. Overall the place is clean, the music is a vibe and the employees are very welcoming. You should definitely give it a try. I super loved the Shark Bite roll

Selections of all u can eat appetizers. The squid was delicious, Edamame, cucumber salad and the mussels.

The staff was very welcoming and friendly. We sat by the window, door, of the bar area, which felt very private. Ashley was our server, she was on point through out, she reminded me of Princess Jasmine on how she styled her hair. She often checked up on us, literally it seems as if it was every 5 min. She had recommended the "all u can eat" and we can take our "left overs home." The food was fresh, service and delivery of food was pretty fast on a Friday night and any issue was professionally resolved by the owner himself, Ryan. We highly recommend this sushi place to anyone who is near baseball stadium. Be safe and God bless, where ever you go.

As self-proclaimed sushi lovers, we had to check out The Wave after hearing so many great things from friends. Our go-to sushi spots in Reno have always been Tha Joint and Tokyo, so we were excited to see how The Wave compared. First impression? The atmosphere is a lot of fun. It's conveniently located right across from the baseball fields and has a great vibe with stylish decor, good music, and an energetic feel. The staff was fantastic. I didn't catch our hostess's name, but she had beautiful teal blue eyeshadow and long black hair. She was welcoming, friendly, and really set the tone for a great experience. One of the coolest touches was the challenge they had going when you walked in. If you could stop the stopwatch at exactly 10.00 seconds, you won free all-you-can-eat sushi. It was such a fun way to get everyone interacting before they were even seated. Overall, The Wave is absolutely worth checking out. Great atmosphere, friendly staff, and a fun experience from the moment you walk through the door. We'll definitely be back!

Grand opening was super busy with long waits but as expected with new business opening first week. I decided to give the wave sushi second try early weekday dinner. The restaurant is clean, very spacious with a lot of lighting and windows. Servers was attentive making sure everything was perfect once we seated and our chef was really friendly. Sushi is fresh and delicious with plenty of creative rolls on the menu. From first and second visit the sushi rolls that scored high on flavor, freshness and execution was ceviche roll, the spider hand roll with mango and tobiko, cajun salmon nigiri and the dead zone roll with chili oil on top (spicy). Don't skip spicy tuna request it as a hand roll. Service was speedy for early dinner -- recommend it if you want to beat the rush. They have TVs to watch FIFA games right now which is a bonus!

When we arrived, they somehow lost us on the waitlist, even though the restaurant was nearly empty with plenty of open tables. Once we were finally seated, our table was literally falling apart, so we had to be moved to another one. After that, we waited over 30 minutes without a single person coming to greet us, take our drink order, or even check in. The restaurant was slow, yet the staff seemed disorganized and confused, and no one appeared to know what was going on. The food may be great, but we never got the chance to find out because we left after waiting so long without any service. This restaurant has potential, but they really need to improve their organization and customer service. I hope they get it together because it could be a great spot.

Visited 6/25 for our anniversary. Was definitely looking forward to trying this place, have been following their instagram since they first started with their sushi platters and I finally got to try their rolls. It's a nice little restaurant, loved sitting by the window for a little view of the aces stadium. Didn't realize they had outdoor seating, so we will be trying that next as well as their poke bowls. The service was great, they were quick about bringing out the food as well as refilling our drinks. Love the spider handroll, can't wait to try the tiramisu cake they have as well. AND cherry on top was they had Pacifico on tap so +1000 points.
