Molly's Wax Shop was absolutely amazing! I used Molly after I had an horrible experience at the European Wax Center on Falls. Luckily I checked Molly's and she had an opening. What are the odds? I booked right away. I later found out that she had a cancellation. When I arrived I was a little out of my head because I thought I would be later, Molly was absolutely amazing. She essentially calmed me down. Which was awesome. The wax shop is very inviting and quaint, I didn't feel like I was in chain establishment in a sense it felt like home. She was very nice. The room she does her waxing in is spacious but not intimidating. It was very clean and well organized which I loved. She explained everything that she would be doing from beginning to end our conversation was easy and helpful, she help me get through the pain .....FYI I'm a screamer lol! I ended my appt by booking another one because she was just that great. I also felt that her pricing was very reasonable. If you look at my profile, you will see a review at the first esthetician and place I tried upon moving to the Raleigh area. Finding a new person is never an easy thing and I really wanted to like my first place, mainly because of price. So when I didn't I began my hunt for a new place and after reading just about every review from all places within a 20 mile radius of my home, I decided I was going to give Molly a try. It is super easy to book an appointment, as you can do it all online. Also, her website is setup to answer a lot, if not all your questions. There is nothing worse than looking for information and going to a website that either doesn't exist (didn't renew their url) or they just don't give a lot of information. Molly describes all the procedures she does so you aren't going in thinking one thing and end up getting another. Upon meeting Molly, I was immediately put at ease. And let me just say I was nervous. After not really clicking with my first place, I swore I would probably have to fly to Atlanta to get waxed. But she was friendly and I instantly felt like I was dealing with an old friend. Her place isn't huge, as it's just her working but it's warm and inviting. I didn't feel like I was going to the doctor's and their are homey touches all around, And even though she is in a building with a restaurant below and other business around it is always pretty quiet. Now for the good stuff! I hated having to bad mouth my previous experience but I did mainly because I wanted Molly to be sure she understood what I was looking for and understand she did. She does a THOROUGH waxing job. I was so thrilled with the outcome I thought I might cry. Or hug her. I did neither but really wanted to. She is also quick and talks with you enough so that you are comfortable and not even really thinking about what she is doing. They both have slightly different waxing preferences but I've never been disappointed with either of them. Parking is tight in the plaza so do not arrive too early. I was interested in trying Molly's Wax Shop based on two factors: The reviews here, and the (fun, informative, and playful) website. The experience I had today really lived up to my expectations! My wax was with Molly (after I booked online without specifying anyone), who I found to be kind, professional, and engaging. It really felt like I was hanging out with a friend during my brazilian wax. Molly did an excellent job of putting me at ease and managing my pain expectations, having me inhale and exhale during the more painful portions. I'd never experienced the hard wax she uses before, and found it less painful than the traditional soft wax. The pain fades more quickly and has less of a sting as well. I made sure to book my next appointment when I checked out. Molly and I discussed waxing timelines based on my skin sensitivity level and hair type and she clearly wanted what was best and most effective for me. I highly recommend Molly's Wax Shop and Molly specifically, but from the other reviews it sounds like Arianna is just as talented! Either way you really can't go wrong. read more

I've been going to Molly's Wax Shop since I first moved to the Triangle, about 5 years ago now. I love her new location and the fact that with a second esthetician, she's now even easier to get in to see. Appointments can easily be made online, and her website has tons of useful info about the various services. I also find that her pricing is reasonable for comparative quality services. Molly puts me at ease every time I go in. I swear it gets easier, but the suspense before the 'riiiiipppp' gets me every time. She tells me what she's doing and helps me brace for any areas that might be a little more sensitive. Parking can be a challenge in the area, but she has two dedicated parking spots in front of the studio. You have to arrive right on time in order to snag one (and not mess with the fine tuned parking system), so I usually just grab one around the block as I generally try to be a little early for appointments. I can't recommend Molly enough for your waxing needs. She's the best in the Triangle! read more

After a few not-so-great experiences at other Raleigh wax locations, I gave up my 3 year moratorium on waxing after reading reviews for Molly's Wax Shop. EVERY WORD IS TRUE. Molly's amazingly friendly and unbelievably good at waxing. I went in today for a pre-4th of July bikini wax and have never felt more comfortable in what we can all agree is a fairly uncomfortable position/situation. All my previous waxing experiences were with soft wax and strips - even with Advil and numbing creams I would walk out with my nether regions on fire. Molly uses hard wax which made all the difference. I thanked her about six times for ripping hair out - that's how great it was. Major points as well for an easy to find location and easy online booking. If you don't get in when you need, check back! She gets cancellations often and they show up almost immediately online. Her website has all the information you need if you're a first-timer to waxing or to more...ahem deep waxing. She also sells the skin care you need if you have more sensitive skin (like I do) but is not pushy about buying her products. I got a wax, the salicylic acid and sugar scrub was $70 - more than reasonable. I cannot say enough good things about Molly or my experience. Make an appointment! I had booked an appointment a few months back, and then chickened out and cancelled it 2 days before I was supposed to go. I wanted my hair gone, but the thought of someone covering you in wax and then ripping it all out is, well, scary. I wasn't nervous about the pain or anything specific, I was just nervous. But, I finally resolved to make another appointment and stuck with it. I was very happy and Molly made getting all of your hair ripped out of your body about as pleasant of an experience as possible. This was my second Brazilian bikini wax to date, and the experience I had at Molly's was so much better than my first wax that I can now see myself making this a regular appointment. My first waxing experience actually happened in Jerusalem, Israel, and while it wasn't bad, the Israeli aesthetician used a soft wax with strips. Molly uses hard wax, which is so much better on your skin and much less painful! I was quite a bit nervous before my appointment, but my nerves actually flew away even before the procedure started. I'm not gonna lie and say that it didn't hurt, but the pain was definitely tolerable. Pretty much the best you can hope for in this department! Molly has a very calming, comforting presence and is just very good at what she does. After my appointment was completed, I booked my next appointment for one month later. I found Molly's Wax Shop on Yelp (go figure), but one of the reasons why I chose to go here instead of another wax shop in the area was because of how easy it was to book an appointment online. Just sign up and select a date and time and you're good to go! Super easy. And she offers a 10% discount if it's your birthday month! Post Visit Review: today I had an appt for a Brazilian and an underarm wax. I'm totally impressed. Location: very convenient, free parking in the back. Cleanliness: Molly's shop is immaculate. The services Molly offers are of a very personal nature so privacy, comfortability and cleanliness are very important. Molly is super knowledgeable about her craft. She is diligent, friendly and she totally put me at ease. It's hard to have your girly spots exposed to a stranger. However I felt like I'd known her for years. After a disastrous experience getting my brows waxed where I get my bangs trimmed which involved a swollen face for two days (I really should have known better) I decided to finally act like an adult and seek out an actual wax shop to take care of my oh so fuzzy brow...Making an appointment was super easy, Molly's relays on online booking which is simple and quick and shows you all the options for services and their descriptions on one page. While I was planning on making an appointment a week or so out I actually managed to snag one the next day thanks to what I can only guess was a last minute cancellation! Score! The next day I arrived to a cute, clean and cozy store right beside my old college. Since there was no one at the front desk I grabbed a cup of tea and took a seat. About five minutes into me waiting Molly came out of one of the waxing room, greeted me and let me know that she would be with me just as soon as she checked her last clients out. The whole process took maybe another five minutes and after a quick tidy up of the room she was ready! Molly was so nice, helpful and made sure I understood and was comfortable with the whole process. She offered some nice chit chat but also focused very intently on making my brows look great! I especially liked the cold glass ball things she rubbed over my brows at the end to soothe the redness and relieve any pain. I need to buy some of those things! So relaxing! Even immediately after getting my brows waxed my skin showed no sign of redness and I was ready to go back to work without any issue! Molly's method was very gentle and after two days I am seeing zero ill effects! Now that I know the wax works so well with my skin i'm excited to try some new areas! Her location is on the second floor above some businesses on Fairview, and easy enough to find. She was running a little late with the client before me so I had to hang out in the hall - a chair or something out there would be nice, but maybe it's against fire code for the building? Molly is the freaking bee's knees. I had been going to a different esthetician, one that I liked very much, for eyebrow waxing. But her office moved kinda far and driving 30 minutes in traffic every 3 weeks proved to be a bit taxing. After about 6 months of this I decided to roll the dice and venture out. You must understand that I did not take this decision lightly. I have one good eyebrow, and one wonky crazytiem eyebrow. My previous esthetician was the only one I'd ever found who could make them look good. I've had some real botch jobs over the years. Like, for real. Anyway, I grew out my brows fully for several months (oh the horror!) and headed over to Molly for a brow shaping. OMG I could not believe my eyes when she was done. I was floored. They have seriously never looked this good. Molly is absolutely amazing! I was scared out of my mind the first couple times I went in to get my underarms waxed, but she tries to make it harmless and almost painless! I wouldn't trust anyone else with my waxing! My skin stays smooth for weeks now and there's no more redness or ingrown hairs. She also did my fiancee's eyebrows and they were amazing! I'm getting prepped for my wedding next fall, so we've talked about my skincare regimen to follow until the big day and she's more than willing to help and give me advice. I've been getting Brazilians for over a year now, and this is by far the best shop I've been to. Just moving from New Orleans, I was looking for a clean, welcoming place. Molly's went above and beyond! First of all, she is incredibly nice and funny. If you're nervous about it being "awkward", promise she makes sure it is as comfortable as possible. Sure, the waxing hurts a little- but the products she uses are top notch and great for sensitive skin (which I definitely have). She also was great about making sure every dang hair was gone- which I've sadly found isn't the case at most places. Only downside is that it's a little pricey. CARLY is an absolute goddess. Hands down, this is worth every single penny. I have struggled for years and year to find a waxer that didn't remove most of my super sensitive skin along with my hair. I am dedicated to having regular Brazilians (long story why, but it's not because my boyfriend gives a damn, it's a personal need) and it's always just been a nightmare experience. I finally found someone pretty great when we lived in LA... and then we moved. I'll admit, I tried to scare her and told her all of my horror stories. I was just super tired and afraid to have yet another horrible, painful experience. She was unflappable. We got started, and things were... pretty damn painless. It was amazing. She was done faster than any other wax I had, and she didn't leave stray hairs!! The best part is I left with all of my skin intact. Normally after a wax it hurts to sit down in my car, and I'm still covered in sticky strip wax. Here they use ONLY hard wax - it's a little hot pink miracle. There was no stinging, no burning, no bumps. The redness went away after half an hour. Sitting in my car was effortless. Please don't consider going anywhere else. You get what you pay for. If you're letting someone put hot wax on your ladybits for the purpose of forcible hair removal, pay their reasonable cost for true professionals and a much less painful experience than you'll find elsewhere. Arianna is amazing! I had never been waxed before coming to Molly's so I was very nervous. She spent a lot of time with me to go over the process and what I can expect. She also made me very comfortable about bearing "it all" (if ya know what I mean...). It doesn't hurt nearly as much as I thought it was going to. Such an awesome shop! Since moving here I have been putting off getting my eyebrows down until I found a great place close by. Molly's Wax Shop fit the bill! I love their online appointment system, it makes it super easy to get an appointment around your schedule. I booked a Wednesday appointment on Tuesday, perfect if you are in need of something last minute. The salon is small but nice! I probably would have driven right by it had I not seen their sandwich board labeling their parking spots. Both spots were open, if not there did seem to be plenty of parking on the street. Inside they have a small waiting area and then a row of waxing rooms. The second I walked in they were ready for me. I was in and out in around 15 minutes. Molly did a great job on my brows. As others have mentioned they use the hard wax instead of wax and strips. So far so good. I was red when I walked out, but not tomato red like my sensitive skin usually is. The ice ball things they use afterwards are great and I'm sure helped reduce some of the redness. I like that they have a loyalty system based on your email, no need to keep a pesky card around. Your first time waxing? Your first brazilian? This is your go to spot. Molly is down to earth and instantly makes you feel comfortable. Its a small space but the colors, music, and intimacy of it makes it feel less like a doctor's office and more like a friend's living room. I got my first wax EVER today and it just so happened to be the most intimidating--the fully monty brazilian. Of course it hurt but it was not nearly as painful or invasive as you would expect. Bad experience here at this fancy, hipster shop. The wax was so goopy and weird. I feel like its still stuck to my face. The girl who waxed me was unpleasant from the start and when i felt like i was having a reaction to the product, her response was no one ever had this before. She tweezed like an amateur, very painful! And when i signed my name to check out i asked where the place to leave a tip was, she said i missed it and that "most pple see where to write it in." Remember people, i was having a reaction, my eyes were killin me, i couldn't see much. Was not my intention to stiff her, I've been in the service industry for years. Even bad service, even when your made to feel foolish and to blame for everything like i was, deserves a tip. So here's one.... Be kind to your clients, you are only as good as your last service experience! I don't recommend this place at all. read more
