The staff told me the best way to get through brazilian wax is to get it done really fast. It was a extremely painful process, even though I have done it many times with other institutes. It is likely the problem of the soft wax they used. read more

Got a wax here and was super nervous- I'm really sensitive and wasn't sure how well it would go, but Monica was amazing. She was super conversational and made me feel really comfortable, half the time I didn't even notice the pain! She even charged my phone for me, offered me water/tea/coffee, and let me choose whatever music I wanted while I was in the room! overall I REALLY enjoyed my experience and highly recommend The Wax Loft to anyone. To begin with, I am giving 2 stars as opposed to 1 as Wax Loft was able to accomodate my last minute time change request. That was helpful. The wax: mediocre. The lady spent about 3 mins giving me a bikini wax. She was abrupt, but not rude. The wax looked fine at first, so I left. That evening, I noticed the wax was both uneven and not complete for what I had requested. I called back to ask for the problem to be fixed. The girl on the phone made a re-do appt for the next day (great!) and told me it would be free. When I arrived for my re-do, the (same) lady looked at my bikini area and told me that what I had asked for was the "extended" wax and she would charge me. I was told "some people don't have hair there." Really?!! As a first time customer (also I had to find child care for my son.) I found this to be quite unprofessional and just poor customer service. I will not be returning. I should also note that I am 35 and not a student; I chose this place based on positive reviews. So possibly I am not the clientele they are looking for (perhaps if I were a student she would have been nicer?) Nonetheless I was a paying customer who is new to the area and looking for a place to get semi regular waxes. I did not find it with Wax Loft. read more

The Wax Loft hands down has the best Brazilian wax in the area. Yes, they are pricey, but you definitely get what you pay for! (this is the case anywhere!) They use hard and soft wax, which for those of you familiar with this process surely knows that's the way to go! Good news...it is also a speed wax! Both times I've gone to Wax Loft I've had Rebecca and she was great! She's friendly, funny and FAST! She stays on time so I don't have to wait, and I really appreciate that! The receptionists are always nice and they've been able to accommodate me either the same day or the next day. The atmosphere is casual and always clean and prices are competitive. I have been getting my eyebrows done here since more than a year. Very helpful staff. They are flexible in adjusting your reservation with your class timings. Very reliable. Once you reach as per your reservation, the work gets done immediately. There are walk-in services too. Eyebrows take time to change shape. Wow, these girls are great! Being a regular brazilian wax client, I have some high standards. I have previously been a client at other "high-class" spas in the Ann Arbor area and nothing compares. I followed Stacy and Rebecca from Bellanina. The service was quick and easy (relative to the service!). They are too efficient. The wax they use is really nice too, it didn't seem to hurt as much. I got a regular bikini wax, and it was terrible. It was much more painful than usual. I was bright red afterwards, and three days later, I noticed that I had scarring/burns from it. I have never had any problem with bruising or irritations before, so I found this a little bit alarming. I will never go back. read more

Honestly, this was the worst wax I've ever received (and I've lived in lots of cities and been to plenty of different wax places). It's been so hard since moving to Michigan to find a decent wax place. I must have tried 5 different places before deciding to make the drive down to Ann Arbor to see if the Wax Loft may finally be what I was looking for. Unfortunately after almost an hour drive, the answer was NO. The waxer, Rebecca, gave me one of the most painful waxes I've ever had. Believe me, I'm not a baby in any way, I've been waxing for the past 10 years, but her technique and the way she'd roughly rip certain areas was not pleasant. The worst part to me, though, was how sloppy the job was. There were LOTS of areas that hadn't been touched and it was the least thorough wax I've ever had. After driving almost an hour and paying $60 for a brazilian, I expected at the very least that they'd actually wax everything. I had to go home and spent 30 min cleaning it up myself. This place is a total joke. I don't know what the girls at UM expect but I expected much more. read more

I went in to the Wax Loft to get my eyebrows done, and I had a great experience. The staff were very friendly, the atmosphere was inviting, and I felt incredibly comfortable. The actual waxing process was short, but Rebecca did a thorough job and it was not painful compared to other waxes I've had before. The Wax Loft was very easy to get to from campus, and I liked that I was in and out so quickly. I am very happy with the results, and the moderately low price ($15). This is seriously the WORST waxing studio I've ever been to, not even just in Ann Arbor, but in my life. They are only professional in the aspect in which you're signing a waiver so they can burn and scar you with out getting shit for it. Horribly fast, I have a high tolerance for pain and this was absurd. I was completely bruised and in pain for days. Not only did I feel this extreme pain, but my roommate went the same day and agreed. The technician was too fast and missed spots and refused to redo what she missed.
