If finding a place off the beaten path that will Always provide a memory then this is the place to go. When I say it's off the beaten path unless you know how to look for a hidden gem you may overlook this place. This 147 year old building restaurant, house and inn is more than just the history. Because when you walk into this home you realize you have found the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. The golden unicorn. As soon as I opened the menu I said I'm in trouble this all sounds fantastic. Let me tell you was I right! The appetizer candy they call bacon wrapped water chestnuts. The special oysters blue, the French onion soup, the bread and butter, the salad the steaks the sides the dessert. I'm telling you the water tasted amazing. Both my business partner and I left satisfied and telling everyone about this place. Oh and the best part. NO CELL SERVICE. It felt great seeing people actually interact. It was like stepping back in time to when a meal was meant to be enjoyed with laughter and love.

2nd trip with a group of 18 was just as good as the first. This time I remembered to take pictures.

Fresh local food. Very upscale in a 140 year old inn. The walleye and bruschetta were fantastic. Cakes and pies are made daily from scratch.

If you find yourself in the area, certainly stop by for some of this quality food! As one reviewer mentioned, it's a "hidden gem". Its been about 15 yrs since I ate here and it's still high quality food with a well-rounded menu. Definitely delicious: salmon, ribeye, filet, baked potato, green beans, bread, and carrot cake w/ creme Options: house wines in all categories (J. Lohr) at $6 glass & more than 5 desserts to choose from Other notes: authentic and historic home-like decor allowing cozy seating and separate dining rooms, great service from waiters, consistent customers from local region and others from throughout PA I'll be back sooner than later to order the crab cakes, halibut cheeks, or shrimp & penne dish.

My husband had the steak au poivre and was really good.

Yet another awesome anniversary meal at Wayside! I had the lobster ravioli (mouth-watering) and my husband had the steak au poivre. Awesome food yet again! Never disappointed here!

It's always super high-quality, and interesting. Their different flavored things are truly creative. The place itself is always clean and the service is always top notch. Any time we visit the area, this is where we get any and all of our meats from. The store is stocked nicely too for any last minute things you may need, and they have a nice small selection of very good baked items. The deli is nicely equipped, too, for any lunch meat and cheese you would want. There is also a selection of homemade frozen meals, etc..

Maybe it was the time of year, but this was some slammin' slab slices. Also have some great snacks and they carry Suhey peppers which are great in a lot of ways (especially added to warm baked beans as a bowl topping). They sell Suhey at Wegman's but of course there aren't any nearby me so this was a great find. The "beef sticks" aren't anything special, but it was good. Chicken breasts we bought cooked up perfectly. Love to see this kind of place thriving, too. Customers were regulars and loved the place. Staff was friendly and put up with my jokes. Great place! Come visit. They also sell "Blues Hog" Barbecue sauce. Tasty, but needed to be applied to a cooking meet and thus are a little runny -- for BBQin' not dippin' really -- but the honey mustard was good on some KFC chicken tenders.
