I've lived at this community for more than 10 years, in two different top-floor apartments, and I've honestly had a wonderful experience. It's been a great place to call home. The property is consistently well maintained, and whenever I've needed maintenance, the team has been incredibly responsive and professional. As someone who works in a creative field, I also made great use of the community amenities over the years. I regularly used the gym, reserved the dance studio, and spent time at the pool. The amenities were always well maintained and were a big part of what made living here such an enjoyable experience. The office staff has also been fantastic over the years. Even though the team has changed from time to time, everyone has always been friendly, helpful, and welcoming. I'd especially like to recognize Desree and Rafael for the excellent service they've provided. They both made living here an even better experience. As I'm getting ready to move on to my next chapter, I'm actually a little sad to leave because this community has treated me so well. After more than 10 years here, I can genuinely say I have no complaints. I would wholeheartedly recommend this apartment community to anyone looking for a place to call home. I lived here for over a year and am so happy to be out of there. First, my guest's car was broken into in their guest parking garage (literally on the top floor of their parking garage) and there's no cameras. Ok. They said there was nothing they can do. Ok. Second, upon moving in the dishwasher and washing machine leaked and I had to submit 3 maintenance requests because the maintenance guy said there was no issue multiple times and if I was sure it was leaking? Yes I was sure. (It flooded the kitchen and hallway so bad they had to cut out the drywall and bring in machines to try to dry the area for days so mold didn't grow in the walls. Also the stove was leaking gas and you could smell it, this issue continued to be ignored and was so bad I just kept the kitchen window open 24/7. I put in multiple requests and they just said the gas detector didn't pick up anything serious but they could smell it when they entered the unit? Third, my unit was on street level and there was a gate to keep people from the street off the property however multiple times I was on the balcony people would be walking in and out of the gate and could easily hop my balcony if they wanted too. Not safe. Fourth, I moved from out of state and they said I could move in on the move in date (it was a saturday) so I show up with my uhaul and Joi the leasing agent says we don't do move ins on Saturday..I asked what I should do because my lease date starts today & I have no keys and a u-haul outside with nowhere else to go. She got it worked out and was overall nice however that was stressful. Fifth, walls are paper thin. Heard anything and everything from neighbors upstairs and on the sides. These units are too expensive for such a horrible experience. Sixth, they have random inspections for different things every single month so random people will be in and out of the unit and I had a dog so that was a lot. I've never seen so many inspections seems like they're just looking to tax people for things. They also are super vague so they'll send out an email stating from 9-6 over the next 3 days inspections will be held so you never know when they are coming and this made coordinating work and random apartment walkthroughs difficult and inconvenient. Seventh, Let's get to move out. First of all move out is a joke. You will not get your deposit back AT ALL. They charge you for anything and everything including repainting the unit - interesting. They also charged me to replace the entire carpet and said a piece of gum or candy was stuck on it and they couldn't get it out. Interesting considering I got it professionally cleaned before leaving and I sent pictures and videos and there was absolutely nothing in the carpet. I did hang some items on the wall and patched the wall up to the best of my ability. (It wasn't perfect by any means, but I figured it was better than just a hole). Apparently not...maintenance wrote in my walkthrough the tenants can see btw "horrible patch job by tenant". Maybe keep that in your internal files next time? I tried. I also just found it extremely unprofessional and rude to speak that way about anyone whose lived there with not a single complaint for over a year paying over $2k in rent for a 1 bed 1 bath. I wrote to the management after I received that and expressed how I was shocked and found it to be rude and unprofessional. No response from them. Typical. Moral of the story - save your money. Move somewhere else. They do not care about you and I'm sure the maintenance team and property managers have lots to say about their community to their face and behind their back. I recently called maintenance about my washer/dryer and Chris was able to figure out the issue day of and order a new washer/dryer unit while also providing us with a spare unit to use that washer/dryer. It is unfortunate that I have to leave this review but I am disappointed in the way my move out was handled. Upon notifying them of your move out, they offer a move out inspection where the management staff comes to your unit and inspects everything to see if anything needs attention in order to get your security deposit back. I just don't like being charged for unreasonable things so I had this inspection and was told "you're good! You'll get your deposit back." I informed the management staff that I wanted to make sure I fixed anything I needed to because I wanted the full deposit back, and she said "yeah you're good!" After move out, they took $200 out for "professional cleaning" after I lived in my unit for over 10 years and it was left very clean. Anyone that came to my apartment always said they couldn't believe I had lived there so long because it was so clean. While I lived there there was a rat problem where 3-4 rats would be running around the courtyard every night. read more

It's been awhile since I've updated my review. Moved in and rated my experience 5 stars. There were a few shaky years after that first year that drastically changed my opinion and had to do with the overall community, changes to management, resident offerings, etc. In the last year, we have still seen some excessively long repairs go on around the building and a lack of repairing/updating things that the residents commonly use. However, since Rafael has stepped into his role as the community manager in the last 6 months or so, there have been A LOT of improvements and I have to applaud this man for his commitment to bringing The Gallery back to a destination place to reside. His dedication to address the residents community repairs and needs are clear. We had grills that weren't working for years, and he got them fixed, no problem! The gym was looking ROUGH for a while. He had the walls replastered and painted in areas of need, and quickly. Any new projects that have been introduced since his arrival are getting done with speed and efficiency. Rafael also threw a Summer Party for the residents and in the 5 years or so that I've lived here, I can honestly say it was the best one yet. I look forward to seeing what's next on his list to continue to bring the community back to life. Keep it up! You're crushing it! read more

This place has taken such a nose dive since the "new" management has taken over during Covid. Tracy the community manager and Emma the leasing manager we're completely unhelpful and did an awful job with my recent move out. I made multiple attempts to get information and try to get an idea of what move out fees I could potentially expect and they were no help at all under the rouse of being "professional". This place used to be amazing to live in... I'm not sure what happened but ever Since Vanessa and Rafa left the place has never been the same. And that's a Fact. So I've lived there for over 9 years NEVER a complained about pretty much anything INCLUDING all throughout Covid when amenities were closed completely, I've never paid late on rent, and I've never had a lease violation. I'd venture to say a pretty great tenant for my tenancy. They never replaced any carpet, never repainted anything inside during those 9 years. I've worked in property management briefly so I know there are certain life spans on items when moving out..... they charged me or are trying to charge me as if I only lived there 1-2 years VS 9 years. Absolutely bonkers insane. They ran charges up to almost $4K after credits with rent and my deposit they want $1,600 dollars from me?? And $1,300 of that is in paint charges. This is such a slap in the face after being an excellent tenant for so many years. I also left all the original fixtures and they are trying to charge me for new ones. Also noteworthy they didn't provide any receipts for anything the work, the labor or the supplies in question, I know that's a big no no. So when you are debating whether you should choose greystar and specifically Gallery at Noho at that... I would think twice before agreeing to move in. Do you like DOG POOP? In the hallways of your apartment? And smeared on the hallway walls? MULTIPLE TIMES!! If so, Gallery at Noho is the perfect place for you. There is no security so homeless people are constantly entering and sleeping in the hallways. If you go to the North Hollywood police station and mention "5416 Fair Ave", the cops will shake their heads because they are constantly getting calls about attacks, break-ins, and vandalism. And to top it all off....We moved out three years ago, never got a single notice, and suddenly, after three years, we got a letter from a collection agency saying we owed them money for cleaning services? I've been trying to talk to someone about this, but the best they could do is give me a number which kept me on hold for an hour and then hung up on me. ***** RESPONDING TO OWNER'S RESPONSE- The number you gave me put me on hold and then abruptly hung up. Multiple times. I left a message and no response. And yet you're able to respond to this pretty quickly. This was my experience with Gallery at Noho three years ago - hopefully it has changed since then, three years is an awful long time. Especially when you haven't heard a word from the complex and they suddenly sent a debt collection after you from some ridiculous move out fee that we assumed was covered with our deposit. As for my review above, people can definitely check with the North Hollywood Police Department and verify if that's still the case with Gallery at Noho. Either way, it's nice to get a response but I wish someone would get back to me about this issue and not this review. read more

Emma (one of the leasing managers) was sooo helpful when we moved in. We had previously toured the complex in April and when we moved we noticed the increase in homeless folks around the property and expressed my concerns. She reassured me they were doing their best to make sure they were relocated, which put me at ease. There was a slight issue with the appliances we requested upon move-in, but Emma was so quick to make sure we got the appliances we previously requested. She was especially helpful with making sure our move in was smooth and we had everything we needed. She's truly the best! I can also say, their maintenance team is very responsive and helpful! I called and made an appointment for a tour. They scheduled it. I arrived on time just to get sent away by the leasing agent who claimed was out on lunch and there was nothing scheduled on her calendar. I was asked to wait 30 min while leasing agent takes her lunch! Lol, even with an appointment! Quite frankly, this is how they treat future residents? Such Lack of respect, poor customer service and very disorganized. This is NOT the place I want to call home. The property has a rat problem. Also, their on-site security guard that I had to call while living there, without ANY indication from me that he was welcome to do so, texted me from his "personal" phone referring to my personal relationship status. The maintenance team here is great though, I love those people! ** Adding update ** The property has accused me of "inappropriate trolling" on my factual review of my time living there. First, what professional company uses slang when addressing serious business matters? Also, maybe they do not understand that I have records to back up my claims? I have VIDEOS of rats running around in their courtyard, I had my work associates witness them when they came over and we hung out in the courtyard, (I have video of that moment too) I have emails I sent to them about the rat problem and them responding that they had pest control come out, I have had conversations with their team about the rat problem, they have placed rat traps throughout the property since my claim (look for the black boxes with small holes placed in courtyard, parking lot, etc.) and did they not think enough to know that the inappropriate text messages I received from their "security guard" has a cellphone number that I can easily disclose in court to prove that it came from someone they hired? I was just smart enough not to disclose that number in my screenshot on this public platform because it is not necessary to put someone's personal information out publicly, but they want to say I am trolling? I like to think that I am a nice person, I don't have bad things to say about people. My hope here is that this review is fuel for this building to FIX these problems because so many people here endure the same frustrations as I do. Aside from that, I want people moving in to have a real clear picture of what they are getting into. Lets start with the fire alarms because this is not only an annoyance, it's a safety hazard. They go off ALL THE TIME. Before I moved here I read in reviews about the fire alarms thinking people are just being over dramatic, no it's a serious thing. And it's not just a little quiet beep, it's ear piercing and at 2 AM. I wish I would've listened to those reviews. On average they go off about 10 times a month and last for about 3-5 minutes straight. My neighbors and I started going out in the hall to look and see if anything if it is real or not. Now no one opens the door everyone ignores it because it can not be taken seriously. If a real fire occurred I'm not sure everyone would get up and out of the building. Secondly , the staff. Let's start with the good- I think the maintenance/cleaning staff is VERY sweet. They are always here quickly after I need help. Aside from them, goodluck. I've had water coming down from my ceiling and they said "it's a big building, things like that happen" as If it was no big deal. The front office explained maintence was on lunch and did NOTHING more to help. Thankfully I got ahold of one of the maintenance staff team myself and they kindly left their lunch break to come help me turn off the water in the above room and clean my floor up because it was flooded. Maintence then informed me it has happened numerous times before and they haven't kicked this tenant out yet. The office staff doesn't take care of problems or even sound as If they care at all, they just give you the building manager property owners # and says deal with them- and they don't answer nor call back. So problems never get solved, aside from maintenance ones if you get ahold of them yourself. Barley lasted a year here, I would not recommend moving here, keep looking. read more

DO NOT LIVE HERE. When I moved in, everything was broken. I had no hot water, chipping paint, no heat, and there was a gas leak. I documented everything and went to turn in my move-in form. They refused to accept it and sent maintenance out to fix all the items so I would remove them from the form. There was a serious gas leak for over 24 hours, did no one check the apartment at all before I moved in? Or check the water? The maintenance person told me the paint was sticky and peeling because it hadn't been properly sealed. It never was, and it stuck to everything I put in the cabinets. Then at the end of my lease, I was charged for every single thing after providing 60 DAYS NOTICE, which is unheard of in my 10+ years as a renter. Now the fire alarms. This is not just "people smoking." There is "annual fire alarm testing" which is in every building, all day, for 2-4 days in a row. This happened every few months, the "annual" part is false. It's impossible to escape the sound with dogs and this is a "dog-friendly community". They even scheduled one that lasted several days longer than planned during the first weeks of the shelter in place order back in March 2020 - where were we supposed to go? I don't understand why fire alarms need to be "tested" multiple times a year? To top it off, my front door never latched fully so every time a door closed near mine it would open and shut just a little. Just enough to startle me and my dogs every single time. I also had similar issues other reviewers mentioned when I had to call for my upstairs neighbor having a full blown 10+ person PARTY a few weeks into covid until well past 1am - I was told to "call if it happens again" so they could document the issue and nothing was handled. The maintenance staff and most of the leasing staff are really wonderful people, but management is a huge problem. There are so many apartment complexes in LA, try one of those! And always check your move out notice terms! It should tell you a lot that most of the good reviews are people who toured the complex and never lived there, and thus are not qualified to leave reviews. read more

This place is 5 star. Lived here for 2 years and had very few complaints. Maintenance team is very prompt to respond to any in unit problems. Overall the complex is kept clean, gym is quality, pool is great and big. I wouldn't put much stock in other reviews here from people complaining about every little thing, they likely will complain about any tiny inconvenience in life and are probably living in constant misery. The one thing that is true though is that the fire alarms go off at random times which is annoying, but that's not management's fault, but the result of one of your neighbors having no regard for anyone else in the building. One suggestion to management would be to enforce more security at the gate entrances, if people don't live there or have a gate opener they'll park their car near the gate and wait for a resident to come home and open the gate, then the person that doesn't live there will drive in behind the tenant quickly before the gate closes. read more

I live here - so I have to give it a good review. But this place deserves it - except for the apartments - which are small for the price. But the grounds are great -- and I mean GREAT! There is a heated pool - multiple hot tubs, a central garden plaza, a gym, a business center, an internet cafe, a dance studio, a sound studio, free coffee, a beautiful business friendly lobby with couches and tables for meetings, an office with a staff from 9 to 7, a BBQ park, - lots of security, and it is in a great location. Who cares that my apartment was constructed out of the discount bin at Home Depot. I love this place. read more

Do not move into this building! I was a resident here from March 2, 2012 to January 22, 2024. There have been three different leasing companies, and Greystar is by far the worst! The entire leasing team lacks customer service skills and interpersonal skills - This is saddening as I teach guest services, at my job and they could definitely use more training at this place. The only pleasant person to speak with at this property is Emma. The leasing manager Traci is rude and extremely nonchalant with any Resident complaints or concerns. The building itself is noisy, there's homeless people always around the building (especially in stairwells and pool area/bathrooms) and a number of safety hazards throughout the building. No security is ever present to assist with issues happening on or around the property, and cars get broken into all the time. Packages also get stolen from right in front of the leasing office and their only response (even after seeing video footage of another resident taking the package) is, "you should reach out to the seller and request a refund." My son grew up in this building and it's really disheartening to see what it has become. Even though they make the amenities sound great, don't fall for it! Move in at your own risk read more
