Francisco was such a great coach and was extremely patient with each of his students and making sure that despite this being a group session , that all of our individual workout goals are met. Within the first hour of getting to know him, I was very comfortable having him as a coach - which is not easy for me to be comfortable so quick! There are a lot of tools and equipment here that the coaches seem to use for different stretches and exercises. I thought it was nice too that they acknowledge a cool-down and stretch session after such a hard workout. This is a nice private gym - and it seems awesome if you need a coach to help with changing your lifestyle and kicking bad habits - they truly treat you like family here. The only thing I'd like to have them update is having a water fountain, These are all based on my first impressions - and it's safe to say I'll be coming back again to try another class!

Reno, the head coach for the Sweat classes, does an AMAZING job of challenging everyone while making sure our form stays on point. He genuinely cares about everyone who walks through the door, teaches proper technique, and modifies movements when needed. I always leave feeling stronger than when I walked in. My buff friend (who may or may not be secretly carved from granite) runs this place with the precision of a Navy SEAL and the enthusiasm of a caffeinated golden retriever. They don't just train regular folks--they turn kids into pro athletes. That's right. I've seen 10-year-olds in here with more discipline than my entire adult life. These little beasts are out here doing drills, lifting weights, and running faster than my WiFi. One kid dunked a basketball, and I swear he levitated for a second. The trainers? Absolute legends. They push you to your limits but somehow make you laugh while you're sweating bullets. Every session feels like a mix of boot camp and a stand-up comedy show. The first time I went, there were three people in my class (one of which I met through another gym/classes). We used a few mins of the class to get 1:1 time with Pam and practice anything of choice- I tried my first headstand (TWICE)! Something I wouldn't have wanted to do without an instructor next to me and not in a full intimidating class. The studio is small and very clean. There is a large parking lot. Previous to attending DA, I was going to Anytime Fitness and later CrossFit. Both places just didn't land for me. DA has the perfect match of intensive coaching and perfectly tailored strength and conditioning classes that are challenging but won't leave you hurt or unable to walk or more the next day. If you're the average or below average athlete, they'll start you with a crawl, walk then run regimen that's fun and will plus you up in a long term fashion devoid of injury. Their coaches are energetic, thoughtful and very skilled. Each class for me feels like a one on one, but surrounded with fantastic personalities by way of the students who attend class. Classes aside, DA likes to craft a community centered around athletics. We frequently have social outings and gatherings and I've made many of a quality friend that will last for life. Today I started working with one of the medical exercise specialists/certified personal trainers. I chose this specific one because his bio says that he has exercise training experience and knowledge regarding a certain chronic illness. The gym is clean for the most part. Only on one Sunday afternoon that I was there, the ladies restroom needed some attention, was out of paper towels, locker room floor mat had a bunch of powder on it. There was no one at the front desk to let them know. I haven't attended on any Sundays since then. Other than that, my hubby and I believe CHF has a great environment. The folks at the front desk are always kind and helpful. They always greet us coming in and say bye to us when we leave. This facility is part of the Beach Cities Health District. Parking is easy as there are 2 medical buildings with open spaces in the front and back and covered parking in the structures. Great experiences so far. 4 stars! PS: Many machines have TV available on them including the Food Network Channel. :)

All of the members are so welcoming and kind , no matter how advanced or beginner of an athlete you are. This place doesn't discriminate and loves every person who walks into the doors.
