Came here to my first visit with my new puppy and I'm so happy I did! I found this place by searching online for vets with a more holistic approach as my 16 year old senior dog has had food/skin allergies and thyroid problems. I was hoping to get advise on food alternatives for my pup, but did not end up having the examination. When we arrived for the examination, the tech ask if my dog was friendly, in which I let her know he isn't usually with Vets, since he gets nervous. That is when she let me know the vet does not see aggressive dogs. This is understandable, but they should have told me this ahead of time. This should have been clearly stated on their website, mentioned when I called for the appointment (even on their appointment portal), or on the intake form I filled out online. I suggest they mention this clearly on their website, or when someone is making an appointment. Edit: just wanted to add that my dog was weighed at 11.6 pounds, but took him to another vet, and he actually weighted 15 pounds. We got a mailer from the Well Dog Place a few weeks ago, and the timing couldn't have been better. We have a (rescue) German Shepherd who has suffered from allergies and chronic skin issues for the past several years. He's been seen/treated by our "regular" vet and in that time, has enjoyed limited relief that was reliant upon medication, baths and diet changes. When we received the mailer, we decided to try a different approach and have been THRILLED with the results! The office itself is small and much more "intimate" than a sterile vet's office. When you make your appointment, you're told to plan for an hour visit, because they want to get to know your WHOLE dog, not just the issue for which it's being seen. Both the doctor and his assistant take the time to listen and answer all your questions. While my dog and I were there, another client (who also owns a GSD) arrived to pick up some refills. Once she saw my dog and me, she couldn't have been more enthusiastic about the care she and her pup had received from Dr. Tudor. She shared her story, shared pictures and just loved on my dog! The change in my dog has been AMAZING! He was given a cocktail of 4 different supplements we add to his food and it's like he's never had an issue before! I haven't seen him scratch ONCE since his visit (and he used to wake us up in the middle of the night with his constant scratching). You can tell he just feels better and that's all we can ask for! Called to say I was going to be a bit late 15 minutes. I was literally in the parking lot with time and they would not accept me. Zero hospitality or willing to work with me. I just needed a 15 week shot that takes 5 minutes. They wanted a full exam and lab work so they will just take your money. Probably for the best for me but rude and not willing to gain new customers. I drove from 40 Miles away. Pathetic. They offered no alternative except to reschedule, I was willing to wait because no appointment takes the whole time. Just go on the internet to research what they recommend they aren't doing anything special just vaccines without mercury which is all I wanted. They still recommend vaccines every 4 weeks starting at 6 weeks when studies show at 12 weeks the vaccine is fully effective. They lost a customer and any referrals. read more

My wife and I are sitting here talking about Dr. Tudor and his office and I said we have to tell people. We love our dogs so much....like you. I had used Alta Rancho pet hospital for over 20 years and they are fine, but every time I felt like I was being sold on more services.... maybe some not needed. Our Akita was having some problems and we had a lot pf worry. She also had some seizures. I won't go into specifics, but this is the take-away. There is no nicer doctor I have ever met where you get the felling they truly love your animal like you do. This isn't just Dr. Tudor but the staff. I have complete faith in his ability. I have a feeling of safety that he will do the right thing. It saved us money. I was being over-sold at the other place and sufffice it to say The Well Dog Place saved me hundreds. He didn't just order up more tests as we had some that were recent enough. And the office visit was so low! And they took so much time with us!! I wasn't being treated like a cash-cow. People read me like a book I'm afraid. They can see easily I'll spend any amount of money to care for my dogs. We have no children. These are our kids. I took my Lexi here when she was diagnosed with diabetes and we wanted nutrition info because I know the prescription diets that most vets are trained to give are not good. We needed to get her diabetes under control and he was to help us with that by doing glucose checks weekly. This was a very stressful time as you can imagine and very expensive . On top of all her regular visits we also needed to do lots of blood tests including multiple glucose curves which is 4 checks in one day 20$ each = $80 bucks. The forth week I took her for the same thing the price was $120 I paid but a day later realized I was overcharged $40 so I called and inquired. They decided to increase the price and did not think it was important to inform me because "changing prices is at their discretion ". My Lexi ended up going blind from the diabetes but we took her to California Vetenary specialists in Ontario to Dr. Sheahan (who is awesome) and she was able to get her vision back. When we took her to Dr Tudor for another recheck no one in the office even acknowledged Lexi's eyesight and what our strong girl had overcome they were very cold and Dr Tudor didn't even come out to see us he stayed in the back, the assistant took Lexi and then brought her back to us and sent us on our way. In fact when my husband and I got in the car we were both dumbfounded and he said "Did that just happen!?" We were so excited for our Lexi and didn't want to let them or their negative energy bring us down. We came to our own conclusion that it might be because we didn't go to the Dr. that they referred and maybe he gets a kickback... either way I try not to waste my time focusing on all the bad people in this world but when you choose someone in the health profession that you pay A LOT of good money to you hope they are knowledgeable, dependable and compassionate. What kind of vet..... no, what kind of PERSON doesn't acknowledge when a dog who was blind gets their vision back and also doesn't reach out when that same adorable sweet loving dog passes. It's NOT right!! Even the ER vet who met her once called to give his condolences. I try hard to focus on good but when something is sooo wrong and hurtful I think it's important to share those experiences with others. I felt so desperate and worried at the time and I thought we needed him but there are many other vets who are also learning about nutrition these days and I wish I would've listened to my gut and my husband sooner when he said this was not the right choice vet for us. read more

I am so happy to have found The well dog and Dr. Tudor. I would like to start by saying that my dog is extremely important to me and I take his health and wellness very seriously. He has always had allergies so he had been on apoquel a few months ago I had decided I didn't want to give him medication anymore I wanted to actually try and help him from the inside out so I started researching natural ways to heal his immune system and was kind of on the right track but still needed some guidance so I searched for a holistic veterinarian and found Dr. T. I am so glad I did. My dog was also having another issue that had actually become more troubling to me than his allergies all his hair started to fall out. My instincts said it was because he was on a low fat food but I was still pretty worried I took him to his normal vet and asked him what was wrong with my dog and we did a whole blood panel when he gave me the results he said he was fine keep him on lowfat food and give him fish oil. The reason he was on lowfat food was because he had one incident in the beginning of the year where he threw up and was sick his bloodwork showed a slightly elevated pancreas reading so dr put him on lowfat food. My visit with Dr Tudor was amazing we actually sat down and talked about everything regarding my dogs health we looked a labels he explained things to me we calculated calories for an hour it was all about the health of my dog it was what I had been looking for all of my dogs life true guidance usually it was me reading all the labels and then making my best educated guess based on my research. Dr. Tudor designed a treatment and nutrition plan for my dog that was so simple. The blood work from the other hospital showed false readings due to mishandling of the blood and Dr. T guessed that was the case but we checked to make sure. This place is awesome! and so is Dr. Tudor. I'm not pro traditional medications unless absolutely necessary. In my own life I avoid medications and prefer instead natural oils, herbs, teas etc. and have found that mother nature has all the cures already, why would I do anything differently for my four legged babies? Dr Tudor prefers to prevent the problems through the right diet vs pushing medicine down their throats (although there is a time and place for medicine). Upon entering they are so friendly. I was so happy to see that they use essential oils and was totally thrilled that they have a doggy massage therapist (so cool!) I had only seen that before on Cesar Milans the dog whisperer. Dr Tudor is very approachable and easy to get a hold off. He is also quite modern using flashdrives, emails, and a beautiful website for those that appreciate that sort of thing (like me) but still has a very nice personal touch. He is not pushy in sending you home with things you don't need. I just made my first batch of dog food from his recipe book and it was easy peezy. He told me my Roxy girl didn't need a homemade diet, but I told him I definitely want to feed my three babies the best. His homemade diets are healthy and have all the nutrients my dogs need. The other nice thing is my dogs are people friendly, but not dog friendly (only with our pack after one of our dogs being attacked). I can't thank Hannah and Dr Tudor enough!!! My dog was diagnosed with epilepsy 5 years ago. Her current medications were no longer controlling her seizures. I really didn't want to add anymore heavy medications that would make her a zombie. I felt like it wasn't a quality life to live. She started to have side effects from the medications like labored breathing. She also had developed an arrhythmia. I had been to the cardiologist and a neurologist, along with her regular vet. I was starting to feel lost and hopeless. I had heard many conflicting opinions on cbd oil, essential oils and supplements for epilepsy. Being an RVT, I really wanted solid information and facts on these supplements. I went into our appointment with a long list of questions, and if I'm being honest, a whole bunch of skepticism. I learned so much in my very calm and Not rushed appointment. I was so impressed that dr Tudor actually read through my dogs medical records that I had sent over. Most doctors request them and then ask you all the questions when you get there....and I end up looking through my copy of her records to give them the answers. He had already read through them and referenced certain lab work etc. we talked about her health as a whole including her diet, which has been changed so many times per dr recommendations....and really haven't found anything that really worked for her. After our appointment, I decided to give it a go on all his recommendations. I noticed a huge change in my furry friend with in 4 days!!!! She was play bowing and wagging her tail, she would drool when I was making her food. With the risk of sounding anthropomorphic and for lack of any other adjective, my dog looked happy again! I continued to slowly increase her supplements while slowly decreasing her Siezure meds. She is currently 3 months into our new protocol, at about half dose of siezure meds and still doing great. Her personality is back and I am so very grateful for Hannah and Dr Tudor. They were so patient with me and all of my emails and questions, they were all met with a smile and excellent customer service. I took my pet here and was recommended a home cooked diet of rice, canola oil, and cottage cheese for him. I was not fully convinced that my pet would be receiving all daily nutritional needs based of the diet the Doctor recommended, but I still went for it and bought all products recommended as well. When I got home, I made the recipe but my dog would not even touch it. I contacted another pet nutritionist and was told that the recommended above diet was poor and not good for my pet's needs. Instead I did my research and came up with my own recipe using very simple math to calculate carbs, fats, and proteins. My dog has been on this diet for a few months now and has been thriving.
