Went on a slow Sunday evening. Waited a good 10 minutes before a server came by-no big deal as we…read morewere likely saving money not being on the casino floor! The server was pleasant. Ordered one order of Ebi Prawn platter and one order of the Southwest Salad (that includes chicken). The server took our order and asked if we wanted Chicken or Prawns. I said chicken. The food arrived a short while later but with a double order of chicken. My wife was about to comment and I told her it wasn't a big deal, so she backed off. The Ebi prawns tasted yummy but the salad was absolutely gross. We took no more than 2 bites and told the server when he came to check in how everything was, that it tasted off. He said "I'll let the kitchen know". He didn't ask if we wanted anything else and to be honest, nor did we suggest an alternate as we were completely put off. Now here's the clencher.....when we got the bill, not only did he charge us the full amount, we paid for double the chicken! Feeling uncomfortable asking for a lounge manager, we simply paid and left. In hindsight I wish I hadn't left a decent tip. The server, although pleasant needs more training on the lounge menu (I've seen him work in the adjacent Noodle Bar area) and needs help in how to handle problem situations or at the very least call the manager. Aside from drinks, that'll be the last time we ever go there!

You know that scene in Matrix 2 with the old man who talks really fast, and there are 100s of TV…read morescreens behind him? Well, Schank's is like that but with sports playing on those TVs and less the old man. Feel like being a cheapskate on [ insert sport ] night? Follow the below steps: 1. Go to Schank's; 2. Order a $5 dollar platter of fries and $4 bottomless pop; 3. Every time your server asks you, "are you doing alright?", tell her: "could I get a refill?" 4. Repeat the above steps 3 more times until the game is over. If you're disciplined, you'll have paid $13-15 bucks to eat AND watch a pay-per-view event. The great thing is, the servers won't give you attitude so don't be stingy on tipping. *NOTE: check in here with your Yelp app and redeem a coupon for a free game of mini golf.

A few things they could make better here even tho it's been renovated. Second is don't allow more than 70% of the damn bar to have tables reserved. Just went in and there were at least 15 table with little white notes on them with peoples names. 15 EMPTY tables for a football game and 3 patrons waiting to give money for beer and food. Sorry, that's a recipe for me and my friends not to ever come back. The last time we were there, I got the tomato soup and grilled cheese... and ended up sitting on the toilet the rest of the evening. Sam'z pub it is from now on.

We were craving for wings, found a cheap wing night on a Tuesday for $7 -great deal! I don't think…read moreyou can find cheap wings at this low of a price. My hot wings was drenched in delicious Buffalo sauce mixture. My partners wings on the other hand did not appeal to me. The dry rubs for Cajun and Tex Mex was not consistently coated. The sauce for the Caribbean wings was cold. All in all the wings could have been presented better. I know it's a bar, but I have been to other bars for cheap wing night and presentation was still on point. My Caesar salad was well dressed, but somehow it was flavourless like it was missing something... anchovies? The Caesar drink tasted a little bit off however once I squeezed my lime, it was good to drink. Some may consider this a divey bar. I didn't hate nor did I didn't like it here. I could tell some of the customers are regulars. I did not notice inflation prices on the menu. Great service! My partner thought our server did an excellent job.

We got here after 8+ pm for a late dinner after off-roading in the Squamish valley. The place was…read morebig and luckily it was not full house as it was a weeknight. There were many tvs and a big screen projector showing the hockey game. Then I noticed Canucks jerseys hanging from the rafter and on the walls. Ok, so sports was big here. It was not rowdy though. We sat away from the main dining hall and got a corner table near the entrance. Service was ok, took a while for the requested extra napkins to come. Our server forgot about it. Guessed it was busier in the main hall which was on a spilt level up. Food wise, it was decent food in a neighborhood pub. Not a huge selection but it had the typical food here so everyone should be able to get something they like. The calamari was surprisingly good. Tender lightly battered squid, not rubbery at all. The whiskey bbq ribs with fries and slaw were good too. The wild BC salmon burger with clam chowder was so-so. I wished the salmon was a bit less over cooked. Salmon was lightly charred outside and unfortunately the inside was a bit hard. At least not too dry. I would prefer the salmon to just have a light crisp with the inside being 70-80% cooked. The miso glaze was nice though. The clam chowder as the side was bad as it did not taste like it at all. It was more of a cream of vegetables soup with some bits of clams in it. That was a disappointment. Fries or salad for the side in future. I also had the Moscow mule. It had real ginger bits in it. I didn't care for that as you kept getting them in every sip and they were real gingery spicy. Not a place I would make a special trip for, but a decent place for a meal when passing by. They open till 12 midnight or 1 am. Nice sized parking lot in front and back of the building.
