Best Bay Breeze on the Island
    Frank B.

I stopped in to visit one of my favorite people on Ft Myers Beach who ALSO is my favorite bartender here. I have followed KY SHELLY for at least 4 different locations since Hurricane Ian wiped out the beach. I've traveled AT LEAST an hour to get to her because of her attitude, quick wit, professionalism, and personality. I'm so happy she landed here as the location is perfect! I love the ambiance here as well as the view. THIS visit with her was no different! She cooled me down the tropical way by making me a Bay breeze cocktail. The prefect blend as other places make them where you only taste the fruitiness. With HERS, one actually tastes the alcohol without it being too "boozy" KY Shelly then enticed me by suggesting the Island Grouper Tacos. ($23.95) I chose my Grouper medallions blackened. GREAT seasoning without it being too salty or overpowering the taste of the Grouper. It was drizzled with their homemade cilantro lime aioli and came with a side of their mango slaw. The next time I order this, I will put it ON the taco instead of eating it on the side. As I was getting ready to pay my tab, I saw KY Shelly making piña coladas for other guests. Knowing how much EVERY BARTENDER I know absolutely LOVES to make frozen cocktails, I asked her to make me one as well. Again a prefect cocktail with a floater, but unfortunately the end to my perfect experience here.

We decided to stop in for dinner. This 3 level restaurant is across from the beach. All levels have a view but of course the upper level is the best. Expect to wait for a table especially near sunset. It was 45 minutes the day we were there. We were seated immediately on level 1. Service was great and we had a "spicy" waitress. Made for a memorable meal!! Food arrived very quickly after our order was placed. We ordered the shrimp basket and fries. The fries were different, a thick curly fry. Pretty good, shrimp were heafty but good. We had the apple crisp for dessert. Place had plenty of TVs and a very open air feel. A must stop and walking distance from the pier.

    Great prices!

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. Honestly one of the best dining experiences I've ever had in my life. Huge huge kudos to Felipe for giving us the best service I've ever had. He was amazing with recommendations, the food was outstanding. The vibe and view is amazing. Great food, great people, great view. What more can you ask for? It's right by the beach and you get a perfect view! I highly recommend and will be coming back. I got the oscar grouper and my aunt got the lobster shrimp pasta and both were so good. THE STAR of the show was definitely the Caribbean Garlic Shrimp. I could've bathed in that sauce. It was absolutely FANTASTIC. Easily one of the most delicious things I've ever had in my life! Will be returning asap. Absolutely love it so much.

First time coming friendly customer service, had live music.we went to the 3rd floor which seemed to be the most popular.each deck had a place to sit and beverage back which I thought was pretty cool.i had a virgin pina colada and it was mostly ice and I got the Caribbean shrimp pasta and it was soo greasy like literally drenched in grease I ate most of the bread and maybe two bites and ask to take it to go and just threw it away because it was just two much grease.my boyfriend food wasn't good either and rated it very low as well.I had to go the the bathroom and it's only one bathroom on the deck and it was a line of at least 4 woman trying to use it.i would go here for the views and music not the the food.

Great location, open and al fresco. Stopped in for dinner after a long day of travel and the beach. We started off with grouper shrimp ceviche, good flavor citrus with a bit of spice at the end of your bite. My wife had grouper tacos, great portion. I had ahi tuna bowl, came with avocado, rice, Asian sauce, that was very flavorful. And I had pasta with butter it was good. Overall good meal and a nice spot to unwind.

The Whale is one of those spots that instantly feels like the right choice. Great food, upbeat service, and a fun, beach‑casual atmosphere that keeps you lingering a little longer. Always a solid stop.

Wings, Oysters on the Half Shell Oysters on the Half Shell

I loved the deck outdoor vibe and I loved a few menu items, but others not so much. The oyster Rockefeller (I am not sure if I'm spelling that right) was amazing, so was the wings; we got the garlic butter with a side of buffalo sauce those two items were amazing. However the Cesar salad was not our favorite the lettuce was a bit wilted and the drinks were alright. Our sever was attentive at first but did not really pay attention to us after we got our food. For this reason it's not a 5, but if you're in the area I would recommend the oysters and wings!

O-H! I love that this bar is Ohio State themed. We sat on the third floor, which is the "club" level. The second floor is a sports bar, and first floor is an open-air restaurant. Bartenders and patrons were all lovely. Enjoyed the bean dip and chips. We'll be back for game day!

This is a newly renovated three story sports bar with an incredible view of the beach! We approached the first floor and the host was super sweet and helpful, and she guided us to the second floor so we could have a view. The server was attentive and took our drink order immediately and answered all of our questions. We settled on the cheeseburger, the chicken burger, and the red snapper sandwich. Everything was really good and we had a great time! This is definitely a place to frequent!

Beautiful Sunset view from the top floor!

The new Whale bar is AMAZING!! Not only is the food phenomenal but the atmosphere is perfect for all. The first floor seems more like a walk up beach bar more for adults . The second floor was a little more high-end good for a dining experience with the family. The third floor had live entertainment, and the most amazing view!! that seems more like the place where everybody. We had a great time love the food love the music love the drinks, and oh my God that Sunset view was spectacular. We will be back!!

Up top view of the beach

Dani was an amazing server. Always love this place. Even more so now! The Whale never disappoints!

This is the meal I will be waiting for and purposely booking another trip to Fort Myers for! I was so full and just kept eating it was sooo good! Highly recommend. These were not things I would normally go for. The blacked red fish with succotash had this amazing cream sauce. I could drink it. It was perfect. And the shrimp with sausage was just spicy enough but soooo flavorful. I used the bread to soak up the extra sauce it was so good. My husband is kinda a perfectionist when it comes to steak whether he cooks it at home or we go to a fancy restaurant, and he was impressed with the balance of how it was cooked and no much seasoning making the perfect flavor and texture of steak. And normally a meal this big I wouldn't agree to the dessert, but no regrets there either. I'm like 97% sure that ice cream was even homemade. It was all so delicious! Also, the waiter was so nice. She did a great job explaining the menu and also was asked us if we wanted to go drinks which she did an awesome job mixing our half and half tea so of course we said yes. We went an hour before close and requested a table as far from the stage as possible. A young girl was doing a lovely job singing some popular hits so no complaints there, but we wanted a quiet dinner and being at the back of the restaurant was perfect. The restaurant was very clean and didn't feel like you were at a hotel. Will be back! Hope you also enjoy!

My daughter ordered the mussels which she liked. I ordered the stuffed arancini which was very good. Nice atmosphere so we decided to linger longer with coffee and dessert. That did not go well. We decided to share the crème brûlée. Unfortunately that night we both came down with food poisoning symptoms. The crème brûlée was the only food we shared. I did call the restaurant later the next day to inform them so they were aware and could correct the situation. I was only able to leave a message. Hopefully they received it as I never heard back from them.

I am no chilly expert, but I thought theirs was very, very good! I came back to NY with the impression. We noticed that pretty much every item ordered had a bit of heat in it. The waitress later explained to us that the "Rude" part of the name stands for the spice in all their dishes... but, funny enough, I didn't think their chilly was spicy enough, lol! (But, it was still very good IMO). Great service, super friendly and honest staff, pet friendly (a patrons lil' dog came running in and out of the place off their boat. The waitress gave us a list of specials for the night not listed on the menu, which added 2 or 3 more choices. Our waitress was ultra-friendly and attentive--our drinks were never below halfway full and she checked with us a few times during our meal. We split the shrimp appetizer; eight (8) jumbo shrimp in a seasoned buttery lemon sauce served with a few thick slices of bread for dipping in the juices. At $10.95, we did blink a bit at the price. The appetizer was delicious, and we ate every scrap. The shrimp were large, succulent and perfectly cooked. My dining partner had the Brazilian beef stroganoff, which was one of the night's specials, along with a tossed salad. I tasted them both, and found that the salad was fresh and crisp, a bit overdressed for my tastes but my companion enjoys his salad that way and the dressing was good. The beef stroganoff had a lot of beef and mushrooms, and the sauce had a fruity note to it that blended in well. I had the ten (10) ounce Brazilian steak, which included a delightfully spiced green peppercorn sauce. The steak was cooked well, the sauce was delicious. The green beans were a bit crisper than I prefer, but that does mean they didn't come out of a can. The smashed potatoes were good. We had no room for the dessert of the day--Turtle Pie-because our meals were generously portioned. Two meals, approximately $65 including dinner, tax and a $11 tip. Well worth it, though because I left with a full stomach and a smile on my face.
