The service was excellent! They opened the door for us, had our reservation ready and took great care of us! Everything we ate was delicious! The scallop special was a crowd favorite. The veal meatballs and the mussels were also very tasty. Melissa even came out and checked on our table! The price point was also much better than any of the other fine dining near Sanibel / Ft. Meyers The cocktails were tasty and had okay variety. We enjoyed the ambiance, good noise level and decor. The lighting was also just right. We tried the cheese cake and it was very rich! The onlyyyyy thing that was a slight disappoint was the fact that they did not offer a free birthday drink or dessert but our birthday guest. But they did bring a candle and sing! We considered going back another day this week! We hope this place fills up and stays open for a long long time so we can have many more meals here.

The wagyu burger was really good, juicy, tender, melted in you mouth. Fries were just ok. My scallops were too salty, but sauce was good Service was attentive and courteous Bathrooms were clean, same as this place

Lunch special - braised short ribs, pickled red onions on a ciabatta roll. The blue cheese cream was delicious.

Karen was a very professional and kind server. The food came out quickly. The short ribs on ciabatta roll with pickled red onions was the special and was very good, but the Wagyu burger was outstanding. We ate so much we couldn't eat dessert but I really wanted the banana pecan strudel.

Thankful they're in Ft Myers, despite the hurricane catalyst that brought them off of Sanibel.

No chance of getting a hamburger there. So we finally decided to go to Mel's Diner! Here we can get whatever we want and a home cooked meal. Jason was our very knowledgeable and professional server. He suggested the chef's special-shrimp scallops and red snapper and a side of vegetable rice. At first I was hesitant because I expected something like you see in a Chinese Buffet. But this was actually very tasty and covered with a light sauce. It also came with soup or salad. Dave got the salad and I got the chicken noodle soup. I wanted matzoh ball soup but there was a $3 up charge for a cup. The soup should have been called chicken veggie with two noodles. Very disappointing. We opted to share an order of rice pudding and it was served in an ice cream sundae glass with whipped cream. Delish! Jason was extra attentive and made sure that we had refills and everything we needed. As always Mel's saved the day.

They were packed and they were doing their best to get people in and out! It would be legit if they added big ceiling fans to the outside seating area for days like this to keep the air circulating. We got a variety of dishes: the chicken fried pork tenderloin, eggs Benedict, chicken & waffles, the kids pancakes, the kids breakfast sandwich, and fried okra to share! Everything was fresh, hot, and fantastic. The only thing I don't recommend is the kids breakfast sandwich. It is just eggs on white bread! My favorite was the chicken & waffles. My kids ate half of it, it was that good! Our service was amazing from both the hostess and our server. I definitely recommend and would come back in a heartbeat. Even though we didn't get to sit inside, we went in to look around and it's super adorable. I love the ambiance of an old fashioned diner, especially the bar that overlooks the busy kitchen!

Love that! Decided on lunch. The order: grilled fish sandwich with extra lettuce; a side of Mac and cheese (how can you not get Mac and cheese at a diner? It is what diners are to be judged on!!); and a piece of banana cream pie Probably one of the best grilled fish sandwiches I've ever had. It had the lettuce, some coleslaw to keep it interesting and a piece of fresh grilled fish. The Mac and cheese was death row meal worthy! Loved the banana cream pie too! My waiter Avery steered me right on the selection. Went back another day for lunch. I had the fish on the Ellie Mae salad and it was good. And the key lime pie. Avery waited on me both times and is a gem! Very pleasant, attentive, and dead in with his suggestions. Wish I could return! Need to try the breakfast!!

My dining partner and I found a spot near the door and were quickly seated upon our entry. The decor was nice and seating was plentiful. Our waitress was really busy but made sure we knew she had best intentions of getting to us as soon as possible. While waiting, we looked over their extensive menu. Everything sounded good. I enjoyed my coffee and refills of my cup while waiting for breakfast in the nearly full (always a good sign) restaurant. Service was very good. I ordered a salmon, spinach and onion omelet with rye toast and tomato slices. Everything was served at the right temperature and tasted great. My dining partner enjoyed their French toast, scrambled eggs and bacon. We thought the price was appropriate for the quality and amount of food we received. Also good, their hot sauce! My strip steak was seasoned to perfection with mashed potatoes and seasoned veggies. My husband loved his baby back ribs. Large bar area but also suitable for families. This particular diner had something else I was interested in, a robot food runner. My breakfast of choice was their Meat Lover's Omelet, an omelet that had cheddar cheese, cubes of ham, some ground sausage, and included in there someplace were little pieces of bacon. As far as omelets go, this one was average, nothing out of the ordinary. They didn't have their Home Fries, so my side was hash browns, which are almost designed to be uniformly average. 41 Diner has a definite diner look from the outside, inside didn't have neon or chrome but it's a large comfortable place not unlike a favorite diner. It was almost empty when I stopped in. My service was great and the food didn't take long at all to arrive. As for the robot, I didn't get to see it in action. Because they weren't really busy and I was a single diner i.e. not many plates to bring to my table, my food was delivered normally. At the end of my meal I did ask about the robot and learned they do use it. They can load it up and have it go to any table. The server will transfer the dishes to the table and send the robot back to wherever it hangs out. She told me it was very helpful and even offered to demo it for me. Here is an old school diner with point of sale checkout machines and a robot. Cool.
