I called to rent a scooter for a trip to Biltmore, N.C. the recommended place was not yet open after Hurricane Helene. I spoke to Ashley who was lovely. I explained when I needed it delivered to my hotel exactly. it didn't arrive, I called Brandon was absolutely rude, said " I couldn't read your mind about when you wanted it. what do you expect." I told him it was on the order exactly. He agreed to deliver it. We drove it to the bus at the curb. it never started again. We left it at hotel, asked Brandon to come. He came, replaced battery , I asked him to wait 15 minutes until I got to hotel to demonstrate how to use it. He refused. He responded to my complaint "This ain't no valet service. I can't stand around here. The next morning (it remained plugged in all night). It ran long enough to put on bus, but when we got to Black Mountain it wouldn't start. Following his instructions my bus driver removed and reset the battery to no avail. I asked Brandon to come get it and bring another cart. He says he returned to hotel and it was working fine. I said obviously we need instruction on using. He refused. So I paid for 2 days, never got to use it. He agreed to refund half (one day) rental. I think it is time to call American Express for assistance. I don't recommend this business. read more

I needed batteries for my e-chair. The wheelchair Place said they would look at it and let me know same day. They said they wouldn't do anything until they let me know A week later and after some prodding they took it upon themselves to take my batteries out. It cost me $88. the batteries if I wanted them was $200 a piece. I had to have two. They never told me they wouldnt check to see if my Insurance would pay. so it cost me $88 for them to tell me what I already knew. They deceived me and treated me unfairly!!! read more

My mother in law had hip replacement and we needed a wheelchair just to get her back and forth to the doctor. We were referred the the Wheelchair Place by the therapist/healthcare provider. We waited a week and a half and got no help. All we kept hearing was that they are faxing a form to the doctor. On our 4th and last call we find out that they did not even have the doctors fax number. Avoid this place. No updates. No returned calls. Bad service. read more

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. I tried to get a wheelchair for a family member here. I was going to pay outright and cash and the "owner" Brandon was absolutely rude. Had no good advice to offer, tried to rush my experience, and recommend just anything. This place is an absolute joke. Please do yourself a favor and do NOT go to this place. I purchased a power wheelchair at The Wheelchair Place and paid $2800 cash. I did not have prior authorization from Medicare, but Brandon told me that we could do this after the fact. He did tell me that most claims filed this way were denied. Before I even picked up the chair the insurance girl quit. I waited 2 weeks for the new girl to call me, while I was calling there and leaving messages for her. After about 6 weeks another new girl told me that the other new girl didn't work there. She was the owner's girlfriend. I waited on a call telling me that my claim was filed, and I kept calling them. The answer I always got was that she hadn't received anything but would check on it. I got a letter in Aug telling me I was denied because not enough information was sent to Medicare. I called in Dec to find out that the insurance girl had quit again. Brandon told me that they had spent too much time on me already and wouldn't help anymore. I asked for copies of the paperwork. It took them 3 weeks to find it. Now I find out that it's too late to start over and he's not Medicare approved anyway. Please don't go here. You will be sorry. read more
