We went because we where in town we had the intention on ordering burgers and fries and getting out however they do not have fries they do chips and as a result, we ended up changing the entire order to pizza instead, and the pizza was actually pretty good however we were charged almost $50 for only the pizza and two drinks and this pizza was not very big. We ordered a pizza that was a "specialty"pizza and we're charged two dollars per topping that was already supposed to be on there. The service was incredibly slow. Nothing really stood out. Given the name, think wood everything (bar, booths, walls) and portholes for windows. At first we were super impressed with the service but once the food was delivered, it was a total 180. No follow ups on drinks, to ask how the food was, and towards the end we were hanging out of our booth with car keys jangling and my purse in hand just praying we could catch someone to give us our bill so we could move on with our day. I had the clam chowder soup it was far better than the stuff I had the day prior at a different place. The Jeff's Loaded Pizza was okay. Heard lots of rave reviews on their pizza. Went on. Thursday at 3:00. No crowd yet. We were seated immediately and the server took our drink order right away. We ordered a house salad, garlic cheese bread and pizza. They have choice of really nice dressings. Salad and dressing was very good. Received garlic cheese bread. Lots of cheese, little garlic flavor. Cheese was gooey but taste was only ok. Not a quality cheese. Pizza was served and liked very good. Taste was ok. Crust was softer and pizza sauce bland. Would rather have Biil's Pizza in Stevens Point or Butch's Pizza in Kimberly. Probably would not go back. However server was excellent! read more

What a cute restaurant! We stopped here on our way to Fond du lac on a Friday night. It was dark and off the beaten path, so we were kind of wondering if we were going to the right place, but right in the middle of nowhere (or so it felt!) was this place. It was really busy, but we only had to wait 10-15 minutes for a table. We started with a clam chowder and French onion soup. Both were excellent. We also had a small pepperoni and small taco pizza. Both were really good, but the taco pizza could have used a little more spice in my opinion. The beer was cold (and only $3 for a pint of Miller Lite!) and the service was excellent. Convenient location near the Chain of Lakes. Our table had a cheese pizza, spaghetti with meatballs and patty melt & cheeseburger. Was asked how big the meatballs were since it was an additional 4$, they said pretty big. The meatballs were only the size of golf balls (two meatballs). Our burgers were both overdone sadly. Undoubtedly one of the best restaurants in the area. A lively bar with great service is the front line of this Wheel House, both inside and outside. The pizza is the anchor with homemade sausage and sauce and several special choices from Jeff's loaded to taco pizza to our favorite, the chicken Florentine pizza with white sauce, chicken, spinach, tomato and red onion. The burgers are thick and juicy and the sandwiches are made with mostly in house roasted meats, not processed lunch meat. The salads are fresh and the delicious salad dressings are also mostly house made. The most reliable part of the Wheel House is the consistency of the food quality. The Wheel House had Saturday entertainment events sporadically throughout the summer and fall with live music. It also features weekly specials most evenings. read more

We stopped in here for supper for our very first visit. Nice decor in rustic setting. Everyone was wearing face masks so we felt safe. Shelly was our waitress who did a great job. Meal prices were reasonable. I got the portabella mushroom burger which was very tasty; likely one of the best that I have had. Side of Cole slaw was tasty & looked homemade. The other side of kettle chips we could of done without. My husband got the house special sandwich. It was also good. This wonderful place is right down the road from me. It sits across the road from our beautiful Waupaca Chain O'Lakes. This is my home and where I grew up. None of the restaurants on location prior to Jeff and John buying it many years ago ever made a go of it. Jeff has made a career of this establishment and has grown it from The Bomber sandwich and pizza into a thriving restaurant/event place to go year round. I highly recommend it for their friendly, pleasant, professional wait staff. In the summer their ice cream parlor located on site behind them called Scoopers serves more ice cream in any size cone than your eyes or stomach has seen anywhere before. We walk in and it's packed. 6pm on a Saturday in a small town (compared to Milwaukee) - no surprise. I ask how long the wait is and am provided with a numbered buzzer. I am not asked to provide a name associated with the numbered buzzer provided to me. I ask the hostess if she needs a name and am told "no, it's an automatic system tied to the number on the buzzer." Great. That's easy. We order drinks at the bar and head outside to wait until our buzzer goes off. We notice the outside waiting out front area clearing out big time. I go inside to check on our wait and see our number on a list crossed off. One hostess glosses over it and another points it out. We were passed at least by 6 or 7 people. I get it, it happens. But seriously? We got passed by that much? Then we are told we can be seated immediately (of course) but by the kitchen. Fine, we are hungry and waited long enough. Our waitress was super kind. It was very busy so we get not being checked on very often and appreciated her up neat attitude and positivity. Our order for both foods d drinks were taken promptly. Our pizza order ended up being incorrect which we did not make a big deal about but the waitress caught her mistake and tired to make up for it by comping our drink order. That was huge and very much appreciated. Our waitress and the food were good but, the hostess situation and our number being passed up so blatantly was a major let down. Please please please try to seat people in order. We came here from out of town after hiking 10 miles and were really excited about enjoying a pizza and a beer here afterwards. read more

One of Waupacas top places to eat. The pizza is from an old Italian recipe. And is a must. Nautical themed and nestled on the famous Chain O Lakes. You will find locals stay away from this pace during the summer months when all the tourists come to town. During the summer they have many fun events and live music in their patio. It's a fun place to go after spending the day on your pontoon. In the the other 3 months out of the year it is still busy with tourists but not like summer. This place stays open year round unlike some of the other places in town. My favorite is their pepperoni and I can usually find a Central Waters brew to wash it down. read more

This place is less than ok. We came on a busy day and had to sit inside. The tables are 2 inches apart and there was no air conditioning. Not ok. So hot we all started feeling a bit sick. The fish fry perch had bad breading on it. The hamburger was bad. The only bright spot was the pizza. I think that is your best bet here. Get it to go if you can't sit outside. The a Wheelhouse gis known for their pizza. The pizza is great, if you eat it at the restaurant. If you want me pizza to-go, the middle is often undercooked which makes the thin crust wet, greasy and sloppy. We live just a short walk from the Wheelhouse (aka The Bag) and will often order cheesy garlic bread to-go. My favorite is the French-Dip. It's soooo good! read more

Stopped here when we were in town on a recommendation of a friend that frequents this place. It was lunch time on a nice Saturday so we took a seat outside on the deck (picnic table). Our server was excellent, friendly and efficient. I tried the gumbo soup and liked it. Hubby had the French onion which was a little different, but also good. The sandwiches were HUGE! Mine was the brisket (special of the day) and I ended up picking the meat out as I was already filling up from the soup. I will say the brisket was on the fatty side, so I had to cut around that, but there was plenty of it. Hubby had a ham and swiss that took up his whole plate, came with chips. We never had an empty soda, and always a smile from our server. We would go back if we were ever in town again.
