TL; DR: great live music, fun and rotating drink menu This is a great place if you want to come and have a drink. Also great if you want to dance too. The drinks are new everyday and rotate. The bar has great service and are very friendly. I would definitely come back

One of my favorite bars in Logan! It's always filled with good music, good vibes, good people, and great service! Drinks are excellent! They may have a wait outside at door but not long to get in usually.

I stumbled upon The Whistler by chance while walking to Emporium with my date. We witnessed a girl pleading with the bouncer to let her in, and intrigued by her passion, we decided to check it out as she made fun at us not knowing about this place beforehand. Hence, the night ended up being really fun as it happened to be R&B and Hip-Hop night. Me and my date got to hear throwbacks from Usher, Frank Ocean, Ne-Yo and many others. I even followed the DJ Aced Spade as he was killing it! The friendly staff, great music, and decently sized dance floor makes this place a perfect spot to drop by for a good time. Highly recommend! (By the way, the beggar didn't get in) "Haha, I don't see how you can hate from outside of the club| You can't even get in| Leggo!"- Chris Breezy

I don't go to bars often, but when I do we always end up in this neighborhood and stop by this oldie but goodie. I've been here a handful of times in the last decade. We came early in the evening because I have to do early dinner these days. This place always has a chill vibe and decent music. The cocktails are always good. This time we stopped by when there was a live radio set going on which was really cool to witness. I'm glad I was convinced to stay out for 1 after dinner drink. This place never disappoints. Not sure how busy it gets late in the evening, but I enjoy it less crowded.

One of the best cocktail bars in the country especially when factoring in the reasonable prices. The cocktail menu changes often and while limited, boast wildly creative takes on the classics. Please don't come here to order Jamo & Gingers. .. Awesome staff and a quirky mix of regulars. The music and vibe varies staunchly from night to night depending on the DJ. There's no kitchen, but there's an awesome tamale man that comes in a couple nights each week. I held off on this review for years because I didn't want to blow the spot, but now everyone has caught on. I hope that doesn't ruin the vibe. If the vibe changes from all the newbies. ..I already scoped out my new spot, but won't let you have it until I'm just about done B-)

Yet, the bartenders greet us with such a warm and friendly energy that I know with absolute certainly that I have been a regular at this bar for years. Decades. Centuries. I know within my soul that this was my go-to bar in a past life (and hopefully in the next). Just as welcoming as the awesome people are the $1 PBRs and $3 shots of tequila. And of course they hand out free hot dogs every night at midnight, which in my (intoxicated) mind was cemented as the definitive Chicago dog, even if it comes with no toppings whatsoever. And fittingly complementing the amazing energy of the bar is a 10 hour Youtube video of that memed Ukrainian kid dancing at a club playing endlessly on the TVs. Rocking sunglasses and looking like a stud, absolutely grooving without a single care in the world, and effortlessly matching every single song on the bar's playlist. That kid truly embodies the spirit of this bar. No matter what day it is, what time of day it is, or who visits, the bar's energy always works. Vibing to Black Eyed Peas on a Monday night never felt better. Imma be... back one day, rest assured. I genuinely can't wait for the next time I'm greeted with, "Welcome back."

This had me feeling like a kid on a milk carton because I've been missing out! The service was exquisite. We were greeted and wished a happy anniversary upon checking in. Our waiter was very knowledgeable about the menu and helped us understand what we might like based on our preferences. This spot had more seating than I anticipated and there are tables that can accommodate large groups. The aesthetic was giving industrial whimsical bookstore. They also had the jams pumping but not so loud that you couldn't have a conversation. Now for the food: - Homemade ruffles and sour cream and onion dip: This was a must get in my opinion. - Simple green salad: I feel like I can trust that Daisies doesn't source their produce from Taylor Farms, so we felt safe ordering. Man oh man I didn't know how much I needed this in my life. The dressing and the cheese were unmatched. - Mushroom Tagliatelle: Thebomb.com. You can taste the freshness in the pasta and the ragu was so savory yet not too heavy. - Summer seasonal pasta with sweet corn, jalepenos and cheese. The pasta was stuffed and had a delectable cream sauce. It was simply perfection. -1/2 chicken: Simply put this may be the best damn chicken I've ever had in my life. To think we were almost going to skip a protein and get another pasta but this was so good. I don't think words can do it justice. We had to get dessert because we knew that their pastries get a lot of praise throughout the city and beyond. We ordered the sourdough waffle topped with peaches and pecans. They were all super unique and honestly so tasty. My favorite was definitely the beet pasta, which I never would've expected. We also came early for happy hour drinks, which was a nice bonus. Service was great, and I especially appreciated that they straight up tell you about the service charge and that it's the tip instead of trying to sneak it onto the bill at the end. I wish more restaurants did that. The restaurant itself is very cute too! Overall, I'd definitely come back.
