    Cozy room with antiques

Beautiful 100 wooded acres animal sanctuary and bed and breakfast. They provided some Vegan snacks and serve a Vegan breakfast. We sat down with the owner in one of the pig enclosures for an hour. Nice conversation and pigs and a cat came up to be petted. She is extremely pleasant, friendly and dedicated to her cause of providing love, care and a home for animals in need. We couldn't hear any road noises and enjoyed the hiking trail. This was just what we needed to relieve the stress of traveling. We went to the nearby grocery store and brought whole food plant based food back to eat. But there are no tables to use or picnic tables outside. Also, the Jacob and Willaby rooms are the only available rooms for people needing 2 beds. They share a bathroom, but aren't connected. We didn't realize this when we booked the room. Having to go out into the hall shared by other people during the night and unlocking the Jacob room door, to use the bathroom was a bit inconvenient.

Lovely stay in the Cloud Cottage! Every need was taken care of. No detail was overlooked. The cottage and every room in the main house are clean and meticulously decorated. The cottage has a screened-in porch with a beautiful view of the forest, a comfortable bed and futon sofa, fully-stocked kitchenette, A/C and wood stove, and even guest bathrobes! Dina and Caleb were incredibly generous with their time by telling us about the sanctuary and introducing us to the pigs and horses, and Sharon cooked an amazing breakfast. We drove for three hours just to stay here, and we are already thinking about our next visit. The White Pig B&B surpassed our expectations!

Vegan bed and breakfast. Hang with piggies and horses. Loved every minute! My husband and I spent our honeymoon here. It was magical! We met Dina and the pigs on arrival. Every morning, the piggies get fed at 8am. Dina cooks a delicious, vegan breakfast every morning at 9am. It's close to the Blue Ridge Parkway, and Shenandoah National Park, both of which have tons of day hikes or longer hikes. We spent the rest of the morning rubbing the piggies' bellies, walking the field with the horses, and playing with the farm cats. Had the weather been nicer, we could have walked all the trails in the almost 200 acre land too! We went to Monticello, Thomas Jefferson's home near Charlottesville. We plan to go back to visit The White Pig at least annually!

We were also told the owner/event manager would be on hand for help the day of. She seemed to forget who I was after meeting with me multiple times, but no biggie. I'm sure she meets lots of people. What was really not okay was that when we showed up to set up our event, the area was NOT cleaned and there was nobody to be found. There was dust and dirt everywhere that took an hour to clean before even being able to set up, a gross dead bug graveyard in the sitting area floor, it smelled musty, and overall was just not up to the standard they advertised. The owner nor any staff showed up at any point. We were not greeted, we were not helped, and it was just kind of a "okay good luck" situation. Also, the "AC" was on 75 on a hot May day. After paying the second half of the $550 fee, I didn't hear from the event manager other than a text asking what time I'd be in. Afterwards, nobody checked on us or the space. Never even heard from them to get a "thank you for renting our space" or "I'm sorry I wasn't available today"... To pay $550, you'd expect to get what you pay for. As a local, I will NOT be renting there for any other party I host nor trying out their B&B if the service is anything like this experience has been. Next time, we'll pay $550 for a nicer place on 151.

I have stayed here many times and will return. The main Inn is a converted stable so each small…read moreroom is identical size and configuration, with a full size bed, small desk, and ikea type armoire-closet. Each room has different art, much of it original art and prints creates by the proprietor Kathy. This place is perfect for a group due to the gathering areas like the wonderful outdoor patio/deck and the indoor living room. And the price point is very group and family friendly. One of the reasons the price point is so great is because there are shared bathrooms down the hall rather than in your room. There are two, one for men and one for women, each has two commodes and two showers, one shower of which is ADA compliant. There is also another bathroom on the other end of the hall that is just a commode and sink. The bathroom is always very clean and I seldom bump into anyone there. If you're staying here with a group or family it's only going to be your people in the bathroom anyway. You can put some items in the shared refrigerator in the kitchen, there are glassware and plates as needed (just wash them when you're done). Breakfast is an assortment of homemade muffins and breads, jam, bitter, fresh fruit, coffee, or tea. I usually bring some hard boiled eggs or cheese, and keep it in the fridge. The proprietor is Kathy and Martin are super kind and are happy to provide suggestions about restaurants, wineries, swimming holes, etc. The property is on many acres in rural Faber, but is quite convenient to route 151 i.e. about eight minutes drive from Devils Backbone, and also about equidistant to Route 29. I've stayed here probably a dozen times with groups of friends and love it.

The inn was transformed from a horse barn into a lodging filled with artifacts from the innkeeper's international travels. It is homey and warm with lots of space to sit and enjoy your day's adventures. Breakfast is delicious homemade breads and muffins. Bathrooms are communal but private. The view is beautiful as it is nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. We have stayed there twice and will stay again when we return in the fall.
