For the most part the room was clean, but there were some small details that could have been better tended. The mirror in the bathroom needed wiped down and the sink faucet had some dusting of makeup powder for a previous visitor. There were some spots on the carpet that were missed during vacuuming. I would guess their water system is on a well as there was some sulfur odor from the water during showering. That being said the water was soft...so much so that rinsing soap away was difficult. We grabbed the brunch in the tavern in the morning. My husband had the farmhouse bowl which he enjoyed immensely. My pumpkin french toast was delicious as well. The Bloody Mary was tasty with the perfect amount of heat. The room was advertised as alloying a discount on brunch, however we were charged full price. The meal was very good, so we paid with no complaints, but if you stay and then eat, be sure to make sure to get your discount. Overall the stay was great. Just a few small items as mentioned, but nothing that would stop me from visiting again... well except maybe for the sulfur smell shower. We would definitely have brunch there again.

Frankly the whole area would benefit from a beautification program. Crumbling sidewalks, patched asphalt and overgrown brush is not very appealing. The street reeked of that sweet pungent nauseating smell of mary jane. Perhaps that is why the place is so uninviting, the population is too stoned to care. Last, but certainly not least, the toilet in our room is so low that you feeling like you are squatting over an open pit ( and the flush mechanism is malfunctioning). The two stars was awarded to our waitress Kristan and delicious all included breakfast at Farmbell kitchen.

What a fantastic place. My daughter and about 10 other…read moregirls spent the week there attending a harp camp. It was wonderful! The place used to be a stable so each room was a horse stall. Very clean and neat...nothing really fancy, but nice comfortable beds, a dresser to store your stuff, a desk and great light for reading. But, like the other girls, my daughter did not spend much time in her room. The inn has a very comfortable common area with beautiful art work and interesting artifacts from the world-wide travels of the owners, a tv and a fabulous hearth. A great place to read or to chat with Kathy and Martin, the innkeepers. Aside from interesting stories about their interesting lives, they are just the most gracious hosts you could ever want. Such a great place for a family reunion or a wedding or any special event where you and your friends and family could fill up the rooms and take over the place. The outside seating areas are perfect for gathering and grilling and the views are so pretty. My hat's off to you, Kathy and Martin, for finding your niche in this life. Can't wait to come back next year!

I have stayed here many times and will return. The main Inn is a converted stable so each small…read moreroom is identical size and configuration, with a full size bed, small desk, and ikea type armoire-closet. Each room has different art, much of it original art and prints creates by the proprietor Kathy. This place is perfect for a group due to the gathering areas like the wonderful outdoor patio/deck and the indoor living room. And the price point is very group and family friendly. One of the reasons the price point is so great is because there are shared bathrooms down the hall rather than in your room. There are two, one for men and one for women, each has two commodes and two showers, one shower of which is ADA compliant. There is also another bathroom on the other end of the hall that is just a commode and sink. The bathroom is always very clean and I seldom bump into anyone there. If you're staying here with a group or family it's only going to be your people in the bathroom anyway. You can put some items in the shared refrigerator in the kitchen, there are glassware and plates as needed (just wash them when you're done). Breakfast is an assortment of homemade muffins and breads, jam, bitter, fresh fruit, coffee, or tea. I usually bring some hard boiled eggs or cheese, and keep it in the fridge. The proprietor is Kathy and Martin are super kind and are happy to provide suggestions about restaurants, wineries, swimming holes, etc. The property is on many acres in rural Faber, but is quite convenient to route 151 i.e. about eight minutes drive from Devils Backbone, and also about equidistant to Route 29. I've stayed here probably a dozen times with groups of friends and love it.

I called the inn concierge to ask a few questions, but they didn't respond, and never retuned my call, although I left a clear message. I tried calling again on another day, but again went to voicemail. It was easy to locate and parking was fine. The landscaping around the inn was lovely. My room was at the top of a narrow, steep staircase. No offer of help to get my bag up there until I got to the top, and then one of the housekeepers kindly helped me with my bag. The room was what I expected, given the inn is old. The bathroom was okay and the hot water was fine. It was clean, but there were ants around the coffee maker, as well as larger bugs- I woke up to find a medium sized black bug under my back and in the bathroom , another larger one on my shoulder. I didn't find anyone at the desk at 5pm or at 7am the next morning to answer questions or check out. I had been given a number to call if you needed them but I didn't want to bother them, as it wasn't an emergency. There were no snacks or drinks available in the afternoon or overnight, and they recommended I either go to a gas station nearby, or go to the beautiful winery down the road, which I did, but they were full and did not offer a take-out lunch. There was a nice new Nespresso machine in my room, and I enjoyed the coffee immensely. I did not stay for breakfast, as I found my stay an unpleasant experience overall. It was not a place I would want to visit again.

We had zero cell service here but the WiFi was strong and useable. The mother and son duo here are great. We only met the mother but was so nice and accommodating and showed us around. The daily homemade breakfast in the morning was delicious. There's a big kitchen table and you just help yourself and eat. There's a keurig available to brew hot coffee at any time. I liked how our room had its own mini fridge stocked with water. Plenty of parking outside in gravel or in the field next door if needed. This place has a lot of history and is rustic and beautiful. Our room was nice but the bathroom was a little outdated. The sink was in the room and the shower was small and old but did the job! In a sentence, White Pig is a vegan bed-and-breakfast with Victorian aesthetic, where proceeds go directly to helping rescued pigs, goats, and horses. Both of our stays were incredibly enriching and meaningful to us as lifelong vegans. The rooms are extremely comfortable, elegant, tastefully and practically laid out. Heavy emphasis on pig related knickknacks, wall art, and general animal decor reminds you what is at the heart of all this. Founder/ owner/ innkeeper, Dina, is also chef extraordinaire. She provides gorgeous and nutritious vegan breakfast in a charming kitchen with cheerily arranged pig-forward table settings. As soon as you start talking with her, you'll find her to be one of the most compassionate advocates for animals you will ever meet. The horses and pony are located near the big house. My girls adored these social creatures who come to greet them over the fence. Then it was on to the pigs & goats. Oh my goodness there are domesticated pigs of every style and breed I thought imaginable, so many we had never heard of . Adorable kunekune (fury pigs), dignified little warthogs, standard English pigs with floppy ears, and every color and pattern a Vietnamese potbellied pig can be. For the most part the pigs are interested in a friendly hello. Some little fellows are standoffish and there's plenty of space for them to stay away from the commotion of visitors. There are quite a few goats in the mix as well. Each of these rescue animals are so delightful and it's humbling to think of the journeys that brought them to this beautiful vegan sanctuary. If you're looking to support a good cause while also being surrounded by natural beauty and staying in comfortable accommodations with a cruelty-free and quite delicious breakfast provided to you, then you should book a stay at White Pig. It was a special touch that they shared the history of the pig our room was named after, along with a little bit of the sanctuary's story. Our room was beautiful and we were greeted with cupcakes when we arrived. They even went so far as to make a gluten free batch for my friend who called ahead of our stay to let them know. The vegan breakfast served was delicious! We had coffee, juice, grapefruit halves, an oven-baked omelet, apple turnover, and hash-browns. After breakfast we greeted and gave a few snacks to the horses, said hello and gave pets to all the miniature pot-bellies, and walked the gorgeous property. Overall, it was a unique getaway that we're already talking about doing again!
