Traveling through, stopped in for to go sandwiches. The coffee shop is very cute, well decorated and clean. Order at a counter and seat yourself in a small dining room off to the side. Staff were helpful and friendly. Christian music on the radio and scripture on the wall which I loved. I ordered the turkey and apple panini and they graciously made a plain grilled cheese for my children. Both were delicious, very quick made and hot. Cookies from the bakery shelf were excellent. Worth $25. I didn't try the coffee since it was later in the day but they sell Red Rooster which is a very popular local brand. Well done. read more

Second visit from out of town. Friendly staff explained the menu well for me and gave me a recommendation to try the Turkey Rueben panini. I also got a caramel latte and it's smooth and deep, not sour, burnt or too sweet. Husband got the Turkey Cheddar Apple panini with ice tea. I like the bar seats next to the windows especially it's really nice out today. I'd imagine you definitely can get some work done here ; outlets are available under the high tables. There's a kids corner on the other side of the main lobby for them if you need. Will come back for my coffee cravings when I'm in town :) read more

This is a quaint little coffee shop tucked away in downtown Rocky Mount. I found this place by accident and so glad I did. I needed a coffee shop to do some remote work. The coffee is pretty good and the service even better. Their Wi-Fi is pretty good for the area. My in laws Wi-Fi, who live nearby, is horrible. So thankful that theirs was good. read more

This place is decent, really good for Rocky Mount (there's not a lot of competition). It has very little in the way of vegetarian food, basically you can get a grilled cheese, a hummus wrap, or a salad. The coffee is excellent. The salads are pretty good if basic. I wouldn't recommend the grilled sandwiches at all, they are basically grease bombs. The best reason to go is for the Red Rooster Coffee, and their signature blend, which is top notch. read more

This little coffee shop is the best in rocky mount! They have a pumpkin chai tea that is amazing (but ya have to specifically ask for it)! They can fix just about anything Starbucks can make (and in my opinion tastes better!) The owner is from New Zealand, so she brings a lot of different items to "the coffee scene" for this part of the US region! You have to try the Turkey & Apple panini! It comes with cheese and Dijon mustard. I suggest asking for the apricot spread to it! It adds that perfect burst of fruit in addition to the thinly sliced apples on the panini! (YES, I love this sandwich! LoL) It's also wedged perfectly in downtown Rocky Mount! The library is right down the street and it is located right next to a little boutique called Vintage Soul! My favorite coffee shop ever! I had a white chocolate raspberry latte which was awesome! The best I've ever had. Also had a buffalo chicken wrap which was spot on! This is a great little spot! I was driving through the area for work and stopped by this little spot for coffee and lunch. I am originally from Richmond, and we have a great supply of local coffee shops and fun food places. So my standards are a little high. I was excited to find this little place and was very pleased with what I got! My white chocolate raspberry latte was fantastic. And my cinnamon scone was quite delicious. My chicken Caesar wrap was pretty good, but the scone and coffee were top notch. Great little find, and such a cute ambiance. This is a good review. The Whole Bean has managed to capture a nice following of customers. The coffee is great, but what is even better is the selection of sandwiches. Tasty choices all rolled up or in crunchy paninis There usually 6 or 7 of us that converge on Whole Bean for lunch and they just smile and pop it out to us. My friends have tried the salads and were impressed with the taste and how fresh they were. The little bit of bakery items look good, but no one has had room yet to try them. If you are in Rocky Mount and need a fresh, nice place to relax; have a coffee and one of the those great looking bakery treats, go for it. As far as lunch , make it a point to go when you're hungry and want something beyond just a sandwich you can get anywhere....there are no resturants around that can match the food. Enjoy!! read more

Without question the best place to get coffee in the area. Locally roasted Red Rooster coffee beans make the espresso out-of-this-world! The food is great too, esp. the curried chicken wrap. Very disappointing 1st visit, drove from Roanoke to meet someone and try this new place because I use to live here. We walked in and the staff did not even acknowledge us even while we were standing right in their face, for at least a couple of min, finally one gentleman walks over to take our order doesn't say welcome or hi, so we speak and tell him what we would like. 4 employees working and it takes 6 min for 2 coffees with 4 customers already seated. As we were waiting other customers come in staff greet them in a very upbeat spirit, (again not even a hello) finally we get our coffee we say thanks very dry "sure". My advice recognize that there may be a diverse customer base coming through your door. read more
