The s'mores latte is usually my go-to, though I've had several different drinks here and all have been great - hot or iced. They also have some really nice cafe food items that are nice for breakfast or lunch. We've had a number of their baked goods and have never been disappointed. We usually pick up several things to have at our rental for breakfasts and desserts. I've been often enough to make sure and get some of the seasonal options you can't always get. Their fall items are especially good. They've also got some cool merch and gift items. I've added a couple of pretty mugs to my coffee station here at home. The staff is always friendly and are very helpful with suggestions on drinks and food. If you haven't been in, you're really missing out.

My girlfriend's parent's have a house by Smith Mountain Lake, and she recommended SML. We were down there during the week around 4th of July 2024. We went the day before the 4th on Wednesday, July 3, 2024. In terms of the quality of drink & food, it's subpar, but staff was friendly & accommodating, which gets it from 2 to 3-stars for me. We went for lunch getting a turkey wrap & iced chai. Turkey wrap was decent, but it was kind of a small amount of meat & wrap overall. It came with chips. It wasn't that much food, but I didn't care too much as I was ok with a bit lighter. As for the iced chai, it was weak. It was mostly milk, not much of the flavoring. I told them to add more chai to it, which they did but it was kind of too late. They were nice and remade me a latte drink since I didn't like the chai. The latte was better, but not great either. My g/f agreed afterward that SML was weaker than she remembered. It's a cute place with a gift shop, nice staff, but drink especially was subpar.

Warm, welcoming, and as sweet as the authentic southern fried apple pies she makes, we couldn't help but stop as chat for a long while with her. We are in the area visiting family and this shop JUST opened this past week, lucky for us! The cakes seem to be mostly order ahead, so we didn't get to try those, but there were lots of goodies like cookies, cupcakes, chocolate roll slices, cream puffs, mini pies, dessert breads, and fried hand pies available to purchase for $1-1.50 apiece. Very reasonable prices, everything clearly freshly baked, and something I really liked was that her little pre-packaged cookie bags and hand pies had ingredients listed on them, so if you have allergy problems it's all very clearly labeled. The interior of the shop looks meticulously renovated; its bright, very clean, and she offers you free coffee at a little coffee nook in the shop, which is such a sweet touch. The exterior is VERY unassuming in a lot with a chain link fence kind of tucked off the street in a little whitewashed brick building. Don't be thrown off by the exterior or the locale - the hand-lettered vintage style sign with a cupcake on it will point the way to a wonderful ten minute stop for dessert.

Regarding their cupcakes, the cake is so moist and icing absolutely perfect. I tried a slice of their Little Italy cake with the cannoli on top and it is out of this world. My husband had a chocolate chip cookie sandwich with cookie dough filling that he said was delicious. The ladies behind the counter were super kind and helpful. Their shop is so beautiful and unique. They even offer dog bakery items! I'm glad I don't live too close to this bakery or else I'd be stopping in every day and gain 100lbs! Counting down the days until I can come back!

Surrounded by windows in almost all sides, it attracts the attention of those walking by as well as repeat customers who have already been through that initial experience. I am one of the second type. This is not my first time here, but the first time writing a review because I want the public to know about this fantastic place where sweet treasures can be discovered and enjoyed. The first impression when you walk in, is of how clean and organized the store is. Besides the great variety of sweet items neatly arranged, you can find the walls decorated with many artworks of many kinds and you can listen to relaxing music in the background. But this didn't just happen, a young lady and gentleman both are working arduesly bringing out the fresh cupcakes and arranging them neatly in their place. They warmly greet me and allow me to keep looking at all the items until I'm ready to make an order. While I continue looking, other customers with more experience and knowledge of the store and items come right in and order and take the items. They wrap everything so nicely that any of the items here can be bought and given as a gift to someone close. While the young man went to answer the phone, the young lady answers my question of if they still had the large cookie sandwiches that a good friend of mine and I bought last time I was here. She answers me in the affirmative and takes out a pan full of them with a transparent wrap covering them up. These things are not cheap but the taste is priceless. I ordered a couple of cookie sandwiches: one with dark chocolate and one with white chocolate. She nicely wrapped them and put them in a nice box bag with handles. I highly recommend this place when you're in the mood for something sweet or would like to buy something sweet as a gift for someone or bring something as a gift to a dinner invitation. All their dessert are amazingly delicious.

This breaks my current…read morealphabet series of places gone to with my girlfriend from the beginning of our relationship up to Easter 2025, but I had just reviewed Smith Mountain Lake Coffee recently from last 4th of July week visit in 2024 and wanted to compare the two from visiting on the 4th of July itself in 2025 here. Westlake Coffee & Cafe was a bit of a mixed bag for me and perhaps more of a 3.5 stars, but I'm rounding up in this case as I'm giving some benefit of the doubt and some things exceeded expectations. Also, a prior Yelp reviewer essentially said great sandwiches, nice staff, etc., what more could you ask for, and only gave 3-stars; never stated any reason why it was a mediocre 3-stars, so another reason I'm rounding to 4-stars. Also, I gave SML Coffee 3-stars, and I wanted to distinguish that Westlake Coffee & Cafe was superior to me. My girlfriend & I were staying at her parents' home around 4th of July 2025 and wanted to eat out for lunch. Lunch options are a bit limited, but we saw this online, menu, reviews, & seemed like a decent choice. My g/f's mom warned us that they are very slow, so have your patience. I said I know I read that online could take 30 minutes. Also, the portions are big and might consider splitting sandwich. When we arrived, I ordered a chicken salad sandwich & g/f got a turkey caprese both on sourdough bread. We figured we'd eat half of ours & switch to try each others. Also, I said we could split a large Caramel Latte, but it seems like I was charged 70 cents more than the posted price. My g/f believes that it was a 4th tier not on the menu. $5.25 small, $5.75 medium, $6.45 large, & not printed on the menu was a 4th tier Extra Large as it does say Extra Large on the receipt. This extra 70 cent discrepancy bugged me, but I'm going to give them the benefit of doubt per what my g/f thinks. The woman cashier was cordial, but wasn't quite as nice as Smith Mountain Coffee. I asked for water while we were waiting to another person, which I interacted with 2 staff members, the one I asked & one who handed me the water, who were friendlier. As for the wait time, this exceeded our expectations of the long 20-30 minute wait, it was more like 10-15 minutes, and while that's not great, I was pleasantly surprised when the food & drink was ready. The quality of the iced latte was far superior to the drink I got at SML Coffee. Huge win to Westlake on that! The sandwiches were better than the wrap I got at SML too. The sandwiches use Boar's Head Meats & cheeses. The chicken salad sandwich was great, and my g/f Turkey Caprese was solid too. As it turns out, we both liked what our original choice better than the other, but both of us like both. This is a small place with very limited seating, so better to take to go if it makes sense, but it's nicely decorated with comfortable seating. Also, the original cashier was friendlier at the end. She might've been slightly stressed with orders & our couple of questions. Overall, in spite of a couple of negatives, we'd return when down here.

It's an authentic Mexican panaderia. A Bakery, like none you've ever seen before. At least I hadn't, because even though I'm of Hispanic Heritage, I was born in Cuba and was raised in Puerto Rico. My background is more from the Caribbean, with different customs, food, and music, but a common Motherland, Spain. As I was driving through a road I had never explored before, I ran into this Mexican family-owned business. The sign read: "Los Tres Hermanos. Panes, Postres y Pasteles." Which translates to: The Three Brothers. Breads, Desserts, and Cakes. Quickly, I pulled over, parked my car, and went inside. And what I found was trays and trays of different kinds of breads and desserts. Cakes in a refrigerator, and piñatas hanging from the ceiling, among other things. The trays were held together by tray stands. People would come in, grab an empty tray and tongs, and go around placing the items the items the wanted to purchase on their trays. I invite you to look at my photographs and video clip accompanying my review to get a better sense of the place. A friendly young lady greeted me with a big smile and answered all my questions about the place. The owner also came out to greet me and let me know that they also sell chicken and pork tamales, barbacoa, and carnitas, on some days of the week. The lady handed me a tray and some tongs and while I was picking my items another employee brought out trays of Tres Leches to put in one of the refrigerators, next to the one with the cakes. What a great discovery on this Hispanic Heritage Month and National Dessert Month. I highly recommend that you visit this Mexican Bakery. It will be an experience of a lifetime, and you will also take home some authentic Mexican sweet desserts.
