Can I just tell you how awesome this place is? I wish we had something like this back at home in the U.S. Everything about this place is awesome! I love the concept, the food offerings on the menu, and the service! They have excellent service here! Every single person who works here is super attentive. I am allergic to gluten so it's really hard for me when I travel outside the U.S. Luckily, this place had a lot of options for me, including gluten free pasta! I ordered the chicken salad to start, which was super huge! It was large enough for me to share with my family (there were 8 of us). My Filipino family are not huge salad eaters, but the Americans went to town on the salad. The chicken they top it with is super yummy! It's not your typical, bland grilled chicken. For my main dish, I had the gluten free carbonara. It wasn't a healthy choice, but it's rare that I get to eat gluten free carbonara with pork belly pieces! It was more like thick cuts of bacon. It was super tasty for sure. Most of the time, my only option at restaurants is either salad or rice dishes so this time I decided to splurge! The rest of my family ordered the pesto pasta, meatloaf, lasagna, spaghetti, and this pizza that had whole manila clams on it! That was a first for me to see real manila clams on the pizza! When in Rome . . . why not try it? I wish this place was here when I was living here. The Philippines food scene has definitely stepped it up since I was last here! My family and I also indulged in the extensive drink menu (fresh juices and smoothies)! All of them sounded delicious. Everything we ordered was delicious! This place is conveniently located along the Serendra strip, so perfect to stop by here for some comfort food after or before shopping. The food here is pretty good, their roasted garlic with onions and cream cheese is a perfect starter. Their bread is freshly baked and their burgers are juicy. Their salad bowls are a bit kawawa and mainly filled with a cheap ingredient of rice and only a bit of alfalfa, tofu or other veg. Their vegetarian burger taste different every time we come here. We do keep coming back because their food is pretty ok and their interior design is very nice and the seats are comfortable and the smoothies are yums. So why 2 stars? I don't like a brand which is falsely advertising itself and preaching it is so wholesome and healthy when they are obviously not. There is nothing healhty about big fat juicy burgers with extra cheese and lamb chops, not even if they are sustainably farmed. E.g. grass fed butter is not lower in cholesterol. For un educated people who trying to eat healthy this is dangerous, they might think they can just eat whatever they want in the wholesome table and it will contribute to their health, but that's obviously not the case. I find their marketing strategy and buzzwords that they use misleading and edging un ethical. In Europe there is a law against this to protect consumer. BUT they are using all of these on-trend key words which seem to bring in people that aren't very educated about what they're eating. "Real food", "eat consciously, live consciously", "eat right, eat well". But what, may I ask, is so "wholesome" about eating pork chops, massive burger with fries topped with cheese, or unlimited butter rolls? If you were to call in any nutritionist to review their menu, I'll tell you that they will fail. It seems like these people are just going in for 10% of more wholesome food but trying to pass it off as being 100% better for you. THIS IS DANGEROUS MARKETING. Furthermore, the food here is wildly inconsistent. Each time I come here, the food tastes different. Not to mention the food is very bland and carb-heavy. We placed an order for carry out at 12:30 and at 1:30 we were still waiting for our order. After speaking to a waitress several times and even the manager, we were told to wait even longer because our order still was not ready. When we finally got our food and began to eat we found that our orders were rushed and therefore not as they should be. We ordered two orders of salmon- one was cooked perfectly and the other was completely raw. It was obvious that the raw one was started after we were told to wait longer so they could throw together the remaining dishes. Well blended and thick, just the way I like it. They even come in cute names like "Be Dreamy" or "Be Tickled Pink" even if these don't in any way describe the shakes themselves. The Wholesome Table is a restaurant that aims to serve food that is sustainable and prescribes to the clean eating phenomenon - with expensive price points. And this is precisely why I avoided eating there for the longest time. That is, until a friend invited me there for lunch, back when I still worked in Fort Bonifacio. I sucked it up, tried not to cringe and withheld judgment until I finally got to try their food. The Wholesome Table's decor is kind of dark and reminds me of an old, brick house with vines growing over it - maybe that was the look they were going for. A quick glance of the menu will show you that they offer a lot of Western goodies, from pizza, salad, to burgers. The items that caught my eye were the Asian-inspired rice bowls, and of course, the cheese. Griping aside, there are some items on the menu that I really like. Their burrata is delicious - but who can say no to a big, fluffy bowl of white cheese drizzled in EVOO, herbs and cherry tomatoes? Their bowls are also really, really good. I am a huge fan of their Geisha Bowl - brown rice topped with shredded cucumbers, red onions, cherry tomatoes, roasted tofu, katsuboshi and leeks with a dressing I still haven't managed to hack yet. My family comes here a lot and we've tried most things on the menu, from the burgers (&veggie burgers) to the poke bowls (vegan & non-vegan), breakfast items, lasagna, & more. There's not one thing off. I especially love their vegan cheese as an appetiser. And try to save room for the desserts, which are excellent, but if you can't, then at least have coffee with almond milk, which is equally good. I always heard about this place from a bunch of people and we decided to get a table inside. We ordered white wine and while we were waiting I was looking around trying to get a feel of the place. It was dimly lit as it was dinner time. I love how the place was designed to feel like you're in some cool looking farm. It really made me think that what they cooked here was organic and fresh food. When I checked their menu, I was right! When our wine arrived, we talked about what we had to do. We went about the night and finished the bottle. It was a pleasant experience there. The Wholesome Table was my first introduction to organic, farm to table dining and it was quite a good experience. While I wasn't expecting just a menu full of salads, I wasn't expecting a super varied menu either that included pastas and pizzas so I was definitely taking my time reading through every dish available. I ended up ordering the Enlightenment Bowl which is essentially brown rice, tofu, and edamame beans drizzled with their version of a teriyaki sauce. It's a vegetarian dish but it was definitely filling. For drinks I decided to go with one of their smoothies. Their smoothies are great because they've got a whole menu full of them and depending on what you're looking for, you can choose from smoothies that go by the names Be Delicious, Be Gorgeous, and Be Beautiful among other things. As if we didn't have a filling enough meal, we ordered dessert just to see how organic desserts fare--we were floored. I hate carrots but my vote definitely went to the Carrot Cake which had a whole bunch of sticky dates in it that made it extra sweet and yummy. Their Creme Brulee was a close second and an interesting one because it's made with duck eggs! He said it was a MIXTURE OF EMMENTAL AND MOZZARELLA, and when I asked why and pointed out that in the menu the ingredients were (as it should be) just tomato sauce, mozzarella, and basil, his eyes opened wide as if shocked or furious, he grabbed aggressively the menu and started flipping through the pages. When he realized I wasn't making it up, he said it was a TYPO, and that the mixture is the standard they use for ALL their pizzas. We were just giving an advice since we're from Italy, and we didn't neither freak out nor raise our voices. We didn't even ask him to replace it or remove it from the bill. 4. The yogurt panna cotta and the crème brûlée were fine but nothing special, but they are not marketing amazing desserts, so it's ok. 5. Their closing time is at 11PM. By 10.30PM we were finishing our desserts, but they already began cleaning and putting the chairs upside down on the tables. It was rude and felt as if they wanted us to hurry up. If you have 2000 bucks to spare and you are looking for something tasty and healthy to satiate the monster in your belly, come by this restaurant -preferably before peak hour sets in, because once it does, you will wait for a long time. The staff however is attentive and you can always walk around the area while waiting for the waiter to call you via your cellphone and say, "your table is ready".This would probably be the place for a the best Caesar salad I have tried (Kale Caesar), the dressing is not too powerful nor too heavy. Orzo salad is something of a mix between orzo ( a type of pasta that looks like rice) and leafy greens -the taste of this is really refreshing and something to go for if you want to try something new. Pepperoni Pizza salad tastes exactly as it says, albeit I honestly would prefer areal pepperoni pizza instead.The grain and salad mixes are worth mentioning too, with my favorites being the Protein Power Bowl and the Goddess bowl. Any of the three soups are well made and tasty. Any of the meats and the burgers are good too,with the added bonus of all of it being sea-caught or free-range. Note: I would avoid the pizzas.
