Went golfing today . From the moment we drove up this place feels 5 star. Bag drop to cart to course ... all 5 star. Course was challenging but also wide enough for all players.

Avoid this place at all costs. I've now played both Victory and Founders course and neither are worth what you have to pay here for what you get in return. If you're not playing in a group then they will automatically pair you up with their pass holders who typically are older retired couples mainly playing senior tees which can ruin one's game if your trying to play a round. They won't let you ride alone at all which can make it uncomfortable for some folks if you don't like play with people who listen to music or want to drink or just be their natural selves. Course conditions was atrocious. All areas outside of fairways were dead dead like not sure if it will actually come back without massive over seeding. Bunkers were clay like with pebbles in them and appear to leave marks and dings on the clubs if you attempted to hit out of them and greens were like playing the Plinko game on price is right. Range session was very limited areas and balls were what you expect when watching the Movie Tin Cup. Pass players were very pissed to find out I paid $37 less than they did on Golf Moose App for the round and I also got a free replay on the same day if I wanted which would average each round at $68 but definitely wasn't going to attempt another hole after 18. Definitely don't pay attention to their signs on outside alcohol and if you do come, I encourage to bring your own alcohol and food as they charge an arm, leg and kidney for a Luke warm beer only to be filled in a water logged cooler with limited ice. Would I come here again.....absolutely never again. Only thing this mis managed place has going for them is their local pass holders but from what I was hearing, they too are fed up with it here as well. I would be to if I was paying more than non locals coming in and getting the conditions in which you do.

Green. Every green looked like this, or worse.

The back nine on the Founders Course was closed for a month for bunker renovations, so you would expect when the holes were reopened, that they would be in excellent shape. Played on Labor Day weekend, one day after the back nine reopened, and the greens were aerated, with little or no sand (didn't see any sand). The greens were absolutely horrible. Management should be fired. They should be embarrassed to produce such a poor product.

Just a sample portion of the Victory course that is not any longer taken care of by the ownership.

The current ownership (Century Golf) needs to sell the property or begin to spend money to keep It upgraded. Both courses are severely worse now than they were under the former ownership and not worth the price they are charging. Locals I know are not playing the courses anymore and they survive on "snowbirds" coming in that are willing to overpay and get underserved.

Might be a little tough for beginners but for a decent golfer this is a challenging and super fun course.

Troon course This…read morecourse was chosen by a broker that my friend worked with on our golf getaway for the 12 of us. It took almost an hour to get here from Scottsdale. Good thing it was a reverse commute. When I noticed it was Troon affiliated course I ran into the pro shop to ask about it. Because it was booked through a third party I was unable to get credit. The weather cooperated this past Friday, and we were able to drive the golf carts throughout the course. The golf cart contained a ball washer. And ice in the cooler. And a golf towel. Also GPS and USB. If you drive too close to the green the cart freezes up. You need to put it in reverse and back away. The front nine was nice and easy. The back nine more challenging as there were more hazards. The marshal did a good job of keeping everyone on pace.

Where do I start!? If there were a gold medal for customer service, Tyler at Estrella Golf Club…read morewould already be on the podium doing a victory dance. From the moment I arrived, Tyler treated me like absolute royalty--not the stuffy kind with powdered wigs, but the cool kind who gets VIP treatment and never has to lift a finger. And get this--he didn't just go the extra mile, he lapped the field. Not only did he ensure my golf experience was flawless, but he also took care of my dog. That's right. While I was out there slicing drives and pretending I knew how to read greens, Tyler was being a canine concierge, making sure my four-legged friend was just as pampered as I was. This level of service is a dying art form, and Tyler is out here keeping it alive like a customer service superhero. Someone give this man a raise--effective immediately. Actually, backdate it a few months. He's earned every penny. Go Tyler, go Tyler--you've set the gold standard. Bravo!

We were escorted to the driving range where they gave use plenty of plastic golf tees and we have plenty of range balls to hit that were already set up for us. The balls were pretty clean too. I was bummed they did not have any breakfast sandwiches before my round as the restaurant was closed. So I waited to order when I got the the 9th tee. I ordered the club sandwich and it was delicious. I really liked the options you had as a side. I got the Cole slaw which was pretty dog gone good. It was especially nice they gave us some chocolate chip cookies too. Mike the Marshall delivered the sandwiches to us when we were on like the 12th hole. Overall this place is a great place to hit the golf course. People there were super friendly. I cannot wait to go back!!!

Greens were in great shape, bunkers consistent, and overall I would say conditions were great for being the middle of Summer here in Arizona. Green fees were right @ $50/pp which included range balls. Peppy carts, nice center console in the cart, big and deep coolers, four bottles of water, towels, USB port, deep basket, but no course GPS. When we parked they brought a cart out to us so we didn't have to use the bag drop. When we were finished, we were able to bring the carts out to the parking lot. Great staff, friendly and accommodating.

I was more than happy at what I found at Tres Rios. First a new club house with pro shop and future restaurant, clean open with lots of windows. At check in the young man was friendly and welcoming. The carts were fairly new. I remember the last time I was there it was a very worn golf course that was in need of quite a bit of TLC. While the entire land area is relatively flat there are a lot of trees which add to the beauty of the course as well as adding danger to wayward shots. I was very please at the condition of the course. It was basically green with some limited areas of bare ground, but nothing like before. The fairways were in good shape, with a mostly complete cover of grass that was a nice surface to play off of. The greens were in very good shape with a good covering of grass and they ran fast and true. Because the topography is basically flat the course tends to go back and forth and down the bordering perimeters. It is not a challenging course in terms of up/down or unusual shaped green complexes, but the amount of trees on the property adds a dimension that lots of desert courses lack. I enjoyed my round at Tres Rios, I encourage others to give it a try and I surely will return and put it on my regular golf rotation for play.
