We love exploring Happy Hour menus, and our recent discovery, The Wild Fig in Coquitlam, is on the other side of North Road, closer to the Burnaby side. Highlights from their menu include $1 West Coast Oysters, fresh and sweet with a mild fruity finish, the oversized Cancun Tacos Fish, and a hearty Alberta Prime Rib Triple Cheeseburger, a full entree during Happy Hour. Generous portions, amazing flavours, and unbeatable prices make it money well spent! And here's a surprise - The Wild Fig isn't just a restaurant; it's part of the Executive Hotel, offering a contemporary experience with a bar and lounge twist. Food: 5/5 Must Try! Service: 4/5 Kids: 4/5 Yay! Price: $50-$100 for two (Happy Hour) Presentation: 2/5 Parking: 4/5 Have easy, free underground parking (register your license plate at the front desk upon arrival) Tips: * Have Happy Hour Daily from 3-6 pm and 9-10 pm. * Have Live Music Entertainment on Friday & Saturday night. * Can reserve a table on OpenTable. * Can reserve your table on OpenTable. * Can accommodate large parties or company celebrations. I wish I could give it a 2.5 stars. I would say I enjoy coming here because I absolutely love the food. They have a band on Friday and Saturdays nights so that's kind of nice to enjoy. Unfortunately their service isn't the greatest. They were quite under staffed on my last visit (2 servers, 1 bartender and the manager I believe) with maybe 8-10 tables. It took them 20 minutes to get us our bills.

First time here, we ordered 30 oysters, onion rings, calamari from HH menu, and the sablefish from dinner menu. Taste 0.5/1* All HH menu items were great! Oysters were fresh, I loved the batter on both the calamari and onion rings, though wife found them a bit spicy. As for the sablefish...that was quite the disappointment, especially considering it's price tag. In my better half's words 'this is something I'd make at home'. Also, not sure if this is standard, but sablefish had lots of bones in it still Value 0.5/1* HH definitely good value, dinner menu not off to a good start Service 0.5/1* Very friendly but the service was a little slow as there was only 1 server 1 manager 1 bartender and well over 10 tables Cleanliness 1/1* No complaints Overall/Revisit 1/1* Would definitely revisit for HH Paying for ambience? 0/-1* MAYBE for dinner menu Above and beyond? +1/+1* YES - they were very thoughtful and placed us on the other side of restaurant as we had a stroller, was away from the crowd but still center of all the action

Dine Out Vancouver Festival at The Wild Fig Restaurant And Bar in Coquitlam. The DOV menu + Live music Really great ambience with a live musician and the Dine Out menu. Menu is 3 courses and perfectly priced at 45$ per person. Appy: Sweet Crispy Battered Prawns (5/5) The Squash Puree and the garlic was the perfect finish for the me with the crispy Prawn texture. Main: Huli Huli Grilled Chicken Thighs (4/5) Nicely done on the meat, could use a little more sauce but tasted wholesome and the veggies were plenty. My friends went with the Short Ribs option. Dessert: White Chocolate Mousse Praline (5/5) The Raspberry sorbet was the perfect pairing. I thought the serving was a little big for one person. I also tried their wine pairing offering: See Ya Later Gewürztraminer I was curious about this place because of their 3.9 star Google review so I decided to dig deeper. Most reviews are for the hotel or event reviews for the banquet/catering services. Restaurant is also part of the Executive Hotel so I understand how the reviews can get mixed up. I would give this place a solid 4/5. Staff was really nice, on top of things and the musician was very nice too.

Happy Hour food was great! Buck a Shuck oysters were so delicious! Also had the Wild Fig Beef Sliders with Alberta prime rib which were juicy and flavorful! The Cancun fish tacos were super crispy too. Everything was so tasty! We'll be back!!

The food and service is excellent. The flavour layering of the Lamb Oso Buco is amazing. I had the NY Strip on a sizzling hot plate with fries was equally delectable. Our waitress was very helpful, informative, and entertaining to engage with. My complements to the chef and manager for an excellent meal service. I wish The Wild Fig the best and hope to see them again soon.

We're 18 people in total for the New Year's Eve Party and our experienced was good. The table setup were good, still has space to move. The event is understaffed, your request takes forever to arrive. The buffet setup is so tight and very crowded at the beginning. I would say the food is okay, the baked salmon is always empty. I believe the $80/person is a bit pricey based from what we've experienced.

Went for their BBQ Buffet. The food was so terribly awfully bad!! The pork ribs and chicken were extremely tough and dry. It's a shame that the chef totally ruined and wasted the food. If you were attracted by their buffet menu, don't let the menu fool you. Their food was way below average. There are so many options in Coquitlam and neighbouring area, don't waste your valuable time and money here. Besides the bad food, the restaurant decor was a cheesy nightmare. It felt like we were in a boardroom. The loud live music made it worse. Imaging a high ceiling boardroom with echo of loud music and not able to talk with other people on the table. Lastly, about the service, when we made a reservation, we requested a corner seat. Upon arrival, the restaurant was only half seated but the host insisted and demanded us to seat right in the middle of the boardroom-liked dining area. The service was slow. Had to wait patiently to get a glass of water and the bill. Tried to talk with the server but due to the loud music she pretended not hearing what I said. Awful dining experience. Would definitely NOT recommend this restaurant.

We made our reservations online but when we got there, they were not aware we made a reservation. We thought this was odd because they should have a more consistent method of tracking reservations. After a 10 minute wait, we were seated at a booth close to the live band. Unfortunately the music was loud and made it difficult for us to have dinner conversation. Once we sat down it took about 20 minutes for our server to come over to take down our orders. The Wild Fig was practically full but there were only 2 people working on a Saturday night. I'm not sure how this happened and it really affected the rest of the evening because the service was quite slow. Pesto cream pasta: The chicken was cooked well and the garlic toast came crispy but the pasta sauce was far too watery. Since the sauce wasn't very thick, it didn't coat the noodles very well which made the pasta taste almost flavourless.

Free parking when having the brunch, make sure you register your car at the front desk. Food was delicious and lots of choices. Service was excellent and the staff were extremely helpful. Especially the doorman as he made sure I didn't get a ticket by parking in the wrong spot by mistake.

We stopped by for Father's Day Brunch ($40 a person). The food selection was pretty good. Food was refilled until just before the end of service. Some of the food items were a bit dry. However, my expectations for a buffet setting is a bit lower than regular dining. When food is made in large quantities, I cannot expect everything to be amazing. I did appreciate the food being kept warm with burners. Our server was clearing plates and refilling coffee regularly. The omelette station was moving fairly quickly with two chefs making the omelettes. There was one staff keeping the buffet station clean and tidy. The restaurant staff seems very experienced with the buffet setting. I recommend this restaurant if you are interested in buffets. Child under the age of 5 can eat for free. Definitely, this makes the restaurant more child friendly bringing out the whole family out to eat.

Came here for a holiday lunch. This restaurant is located in the lobby of the Executive Inn. Parking is available in the attached parkade. Be sure to register one's license plate. The place is classy but somewhat dated (1990s). The restaurant is split into a lounge section and a restaurant section. Staff were friendly and professional. The lamburger was pretty decent. Crisp bun, and decent toppings. My only real complaint is that this place serves way too much potato chips. Everyone's dishes came with a big pile of potato chips, and there were even dishes of appetizer potato chips before the food was served. I don't think I've had this much potato chips in one sitting in my entire life. Not sure why they couldn't just give fries like other places. I could feel my blood pressure rising from all that sodium. Maybe this place is better for dinner but as a lunch place, it was honestly rather mediocre.

Was pleasantly surprised to be able to book a rezzie on their website 15 minutes out on a Saturday afternoon. Ambiance was nice, and service was crazy quick. Their menu had a good selection of brunch items with really reasonable prices. I ordered the smoked salmon Benny and was thrilled to see the hashbrowns were actually tots! When I say they were the star of the show, I'm not kidding. They were so perfectly cooked, crispy on the outside and so soft inside and absolutely seasoned to perfection. There were also so many on my plate I couldn't finish the all. The Benny was just okay. Eggs were cooked well, English muffin was under toasted, and overall it was on the cold side. Hubby ordered the classic breakfast. It also came with the same perfect tots, his over easy egg was a bit over cooked and he wasn't a fan of the bacon. The focaccia on the other hand was delish. Soft and super flavourful. We had a 25% off coupon from the Community Values book which made this extra reasonably priced. Will definitely be back!

There is definitely at least one back room, but the main dining room is a bright, airy space that has access to a patio where may even be some live music playing. The tables are gorgeous - all live edge, which might create a bit of an issue if you have short arms and are used to stealing bites across the table, but they are absolutely beautiful and a nice nod to the area. The wine list is extensive and a bit overwhelming, but the service is happy, friendly, and very knowledgeable. In fact, I love when servers don't know, admit it, and find the answer for you - it's humble and shows they really care at getting you what you want. We got the orange wine, which is a new favorite of mine. It's like a rose for reds. Rose:White::Orange:Red. More savory, still light, and best chilled. We had the beet hummus app, which is definitely best eaten with your hands. It's light and delicious. We had the miso black cod, a personal favorite, and the lasagna for dinner and while both were good, the accoutrements with the cod were the true standout. Amazing and I could probably eat two of them. As the restaurant operates on a seasonal menu, we had a strawberry rhubarb cobbler for dessert. I know there is Sunday Brunch, and I can't wait to try it. It's not the cheapest, but it's one of the nicer restaurants in Whatcom, and is definitely worth your pennies. Everything about it makes for a truly nice experience, and we'll definitely be back.

We like that they have a regular menu plus seasonal dishes, so there's always a reason to come back and try something different. The pasta was definitely one of those dishes we kept hearing people talk about, so we had to try its seasonal version with lighter, slightly sweet cream. After trying it ourselves, we totally understood the hype. It was creamy and comforting, but somehow didn't feel too heavy. The chocolate dessert was another favourite. We loved the combination of chocolate and hazelnut, such a nice balance, and thankfully, it wasn't overly sweet. The best part was watching them pour the Frangelico liqueur crème anglaise over it. It was such a fun way to finish the meal. And we can't forget the cocktails. These are definitely not your basic drinks. The cocktail menu is creative, with interesting combinations and flavours.
