Love love love!! beautiful layout, great atmosphere. This place is huge, you'd be fooled by being outside and looking in the window. Went here on a date a couple weeks back. Never knew they reopened-relocated until I walked past. Great food, and drinks (although needing more selections, esp. on the beer). I am giving this three stars mostly b/c my review is based on personal preference. I am not a huge fan of the whole reggae scene but I was hoping to be inspired by going here. I was not. We had to pay $10 to get in and listen to a band that seemed to play the same song over and over again. A previous reviewer described the guys as "stalkerish" and I have to agree. One guy kept jumping between me and a few other friends and it was kind of creepy. None of us even feigned interest. Anyways, drinks were ok, price to get in was ridiculous and the music was just ok. If you're into reggae, check it out. If not, stay away b/c there is not much to offer you there. read more

Love the food -- was there last Tuesday with my girlfriends. I had their jerk chicken, a friend of mine had the jerk burger and my other friend had ordered Talapia --- each dish was so delicious! I have a blast here. This is easily a must go to spot in Chicago for live reggae music. The drinks are CRAZY high, so I suggest bringing those little airplane sized bottles in your pocket or your girls purse... Cut's the cost way, way down. This is really solid spot but it's a lot that went wrong. First of all everything on the site seemed to be a damn lie. Parking was supposed to be free when you get it validated upon admission. Went to the designated parking lot and was charged $10, and when I asked about what the site said I was nicely told I'd everything would be taken care of at door upon entry. That failed to happen. The site also stated that cover charges were no higher than $10 if a live band played. There was a live band and I was charged $15. When I asked about getting my parking validated. I was told I'd get $5 off my drinks. That was more like $5 off a single drink. The drinks were good if you quickly gulp them down because they get watered down fast due the insane amount of body heat that gets produced. But the drink and food prices were definitely a few dollars higher than what's advertised. And they didn't have some of the beers advertised. Like I enjoy PBR (Pabst Blue Ribbon) but they didn't have any like they advertised. So I went with my backup choice Red Strip which was fully stocked. I could go on and on about how the website needs to be updated but it was my first time there. I would love to come back on a week day or even another weekend just to give it a complete rating but as I stand for now 3 stars. If the music wasn't good it would've got 1-2 stars and if the site was accurate it definitely deserves 5 stars. But for now 3 stars and some good memories. read more

This place is a hidden gem in Wrigleyville. Among all of the frat party, sports bar type establishments in the area, sits the Wild Hare, a place that boasts the most diverse clientele in the area, as well as some great music. Every time I've come here they've had some great Reggae bands as well as an awesome in-house DJ. I love the island decor and the lighting, it creates a great ambiance. My only complaint about this place is the fact that I paid $7.50 for a well drink. Seems a little much, but other than that, this place gets an A in my book. You must stop here if you're ever in the Wrigleyville/Lakeview area. read more

LAWD How I LOVE this place !!! .. . It's for the Young and Old at Heart!! I say this because each time that I go, I always get a glimpse of the over 50 women with short jeans skirts looking for their Rasta Man! ha ha ... The music is Fantastic!! after getting a 2 week earache, I've learned to listen to the bands upstairs or towards the back.. I hate that there isn't much seating but if you wear comfy shoes and you're going to dance, who needs chairs ? I guess I could pretend that I was in my 20's or early 30's.. Yea.. That age. Great atmosphere, people, and food!! We had the Jerk chicken dinner ( great jerk seasoning on the chicken and homemade hot sauce), plantains were good. We also had the jerk chicken wings. This legendary club is Chicago's prime spot for quality live reggae. The vibe is so nice, and it is run by folks that know reggae inside and out. The food is tasty, and the music is crucial. They had a great run in wrigleyville from 1981-2012, and brought over tons of great reggae artists from Jamaica, as well as being a home base for the local reggae heroes, and became one of the best reggae clubs in America! We came for dinner and some live reggae music. We ordered the coconut shrimp for appetizer. You could tell that it was totally hand prepared with fresh coconut and it was really good. My wife had the Jerk chicken diner with rice and peas, cabbage and sweet plantain. The rice waa a bit dry, the chicken was yummy and so was the cabbage. I had curried vegetables over rice N peas. The veggies were perfectly cooked and the curry was with coconut milk. I liked it a lot. The whole meal was a very pleasant surprise. I was expecting just average, but no Mon! Most people seem to only know this place for live reggae music and a late night party spot. Little do they know that this place also has some amazing Caribbean and Jamaican food (which is hard to find in Chicago.) Both times I came here was actually around 7-8pm just for dinner and a couple drinks before hitting up Kingston Mines and BLUES. Since most people dont know about the food, the place is pretty empty at that time but dont let that scare you off. Everything we ordered was excellent. The jerk chicken wings, the turkey burger, and the jerk chicken platter were all fresh, spicy, and flavorful and served with plantains rice and a delicous spicy, sweet Calypso sauce which they make in house. They also had a house tropical cocktail which was really good. Prices are reasonable also. read more

This place is simply awful. A group of 4 of us ordered 2 appetizers and 4 entrees and it took over an hour and a half... and it wasn't even crowded! Moreover, the time between the first entree being delivered and the last was probably 10 minutes... that's just awkward (And the first entree was cold when it was delivered... if you're not going to deliver the entrees together, then at least deliver them when they are warm). Also, they were out of half of the things (Menu items, beers, etc.) that we asked for. I'm not even mad, I'm just disappointed - never before has a place that has gotten just such good Yelp reviews been so bad. To be honest, the food was actually tasty (Albeit ranging from cold to lukewarm in temperature), but I simply can't condone a bar taking over an hour and a half to deliver food. And it wasn't just the food - when they delivered the appetizer, they didn't bring plates. And evidently we forgot to ask for silverware when we asked for the plates because we had to eat the appetizers without silverware. They also forgot drink orders multiple times and rarely checked on us. If you want a taste of Jamaica, this is your spot - the food is tasty, and the service is as slow and poor as you can imagine... it's Island Time mon! read more

The Negative of this place: Went here for my birthday party, and the service was HORRIBLE!!! We waited so long for our food, the only positive side was the complementary shots the waiter gave, however, that did not make up for the HORRIBLE service. The water they give you is not good, Don't drink the water! I will recommend NOT to come here if u want to EAT and have a party over 7 ppl, they will inform you were out of food and items from the food will be missing. Most of the items on their menus is Spicy, so if u don't like spicy food or someone in your party does not, than don't come here, only item not spicy is the Fish!!
